piece of tiny foil on my chicken
    Delanie M.

i was so excited for this meal and now i'm disgusted. my partner went to pick up the order and when he told me there was a roach on the chair next to him i was immediately nauseated. if i was there for the pick up i would have cancelled the order as soon as i saw that. no matter what this is very unappetizing but i am pregnant and deeply concerned for the health of my baby. i was starving and so excited for this meal. i tried the sweet and sour chicken. it was very chewy and soggy. the vegan duck was pretty good but the bed of bland vegetables it was on was unappealing. we also got wonton soup and the wontons were good but the soup desperately needed salt or just any type of flavor. my rice also had a weird fiber in it (pic included). the pictures looked so good and the reviews seemed promising - ignoring the few bad. i'm disappointed and anxious about the health of my baby.

    General Seitan- needs more sauce

Very odd dining experience. Heard they had a virtual ordering process but expected a tablet not a live video stream with someone sitting in a room taking our order. In front of the tv, there was a register drawer from which you get your own change if paying cash. While they had a few tables we got the sense this was more of a takeout spot. Evidenced by the thin paper plates, napkins and plasticware which you have to get yourself. I also noticed their menu must have been dwindled down from when most of the yelp pictures were uploaded (as well as the website) as most items are now labeled as seitan rather than "beef" or "chicken". On to the food: BBQ seitan - nothing like the pictures. While crispy they felt like the remains of the bottom of the fryer - very small bites of tiny seitan pieces. Over fried so it was all crunch Veg fried rice - this was serviceable but it was an interesting choice of rice- shaped rounder like orzo. General Seitan - these were great texture and had a crisp but each piece was the size of a silver dollar pancake and flat. Served on a bed of cauliflower? The sauce was lightly sweet and sparse if that. The protein itself had promise and could be mixed in with a good sauce and served as a veggie nugget/wing. Bean curd in black bean sauce- had hope for this but it came out near the end so our palettes were tarnished by earlier dishes Salt and Pepper Mushroom- they forgot this dish but brought it out once reminded. Dont bother. Oily and mushrooms were way too big to stay crispy. Cut these smaller and serve em as popcorn mushrooms. The few pics I managed to get are terrible but you can see what I am referring to with the General Seitan and rice dishes. One bonus: We went on a Saturday and when getting rung up, I asked the virtual cashier if she had everything right because the total was far too LOW. She mentioned everything was half off that day- no reason given. Unfortunately, the overall flavor was lacking and dine-in experience was not helping at all. I appreciate that they serve the vegan and vegetarian community and assume they have plenty of customers that patronize them. I just wish the execution was stronger.

BS +++ Undeniably one of the hidden  gems of Queens for any vegetarian, vegan, or plant-base-curious people out there.  It's a fusion of buddhist (Chinese), Japanese, Asian influence as well as western (ie. burgers, sandwiches) First of all, it's such a cute establishment, and it might  seem like a take out spot, but you can actually sit there and eat. The ordering system is pretty unique since it's someone on a Zoom set-up.  Even payments are done that way as well.  There is a big TV and you order from there.  Before I comment on the food, I want to comment on our experience versus all the negative reviews.   The wait time: 0   Location: The place is clean.  We were greeted right away. Cooking time: 15 mins You guys have to understand that vegan food is not always premade, and the chef in the back is often faced with many factors.  Might not meet everyone's "fast food" expectations, but I like my food made the right way.  Some of the other complaints I see seem valid, but for us, we had a great time.... and now on to the food We ordered the following: Appetizer: Pepper and Salt Mushroom | Perfectly spiced and fried.  It was crunchy, and I wished we had rice with it.  But it was mind-blowing. Indian pancakes w/ curry sauce | The pancake was perfectly fried and was not stale.  The sauce I could have drank or put on rice and would have been happy. Combination platter (The Trifecta) |  The owner told us that she made the bbq sauce, and I honestly nearly fell backward from how good it tasted.  It was fresh seitan (roast pork like), Vege duck, and tofu skin.  All three together was enough to eat on its own.  I couldn't decide which one was the better tasting option.   Sushi | Avocado The avocado was super fresh, and the rice was nice, and it honestly made me remember real sushi.   King Mushroom roll | This one was my favorite.  The sauce was perfect, but the way it tasted was wow.  I was drooling while eating this. Main | Kung Bao Tofu | I asked for this to be extra spicy, and they did not disappoint.  It was such an amazing and simple dish that although I was feeling full, I couldn't stop eating it.  I definitely had fun eating this. Crispy Vege Duck | This dish made me wish I had extra rice. It's not even necessary to put the "duck" on the menu since it had a distinct taste, although we need to connect it with meat, and I get that. But this dish was superb.   This place reminds me of my home cooking, and it was nice to have the owner hang out with us for 30 mins or so just chatting with us.  I highly recommend this place to all my vegans, vegetarians, and the rest of NYC and tri-state.  This place deserves to be in the city with the way the owner puts so much "love" and "soul" in her food.  You can taste the passion, and it shows from her amazing smile.  You rarely see people do things they love, and no riches can buy that.    当你热爱你所做的事情时,你就永远不必工作。 谢谢你在所有饭菜中投入的魔力 I've been an elite yelper and google local reviewer, and you should trust me 100%  Boomsauce Scale: BW - basura (trash) BS - basic (come on! Try harder) BS + - better (Yo! That's better) BS ++ - best (alright! Alright! Alrightttt!) BS +++ - Amazing location! now that's boomsauce!

I'm not big on posting about things I don't like. But for me this was mainly inedible. I've been wanting to order from Amitabha for a long time. I got the bbq vege roast pork- I have no clue what that flavor is. But nothing like I've had elsewhere. Texture is odd too. This one made me sad. Was looking forward to it. It was also small for a "Large" but in general they give you a lot of food. Chicken lo mein was super spicy, And the oddest flavoring again. The braised tofu skin is fine, but not much flavor at all . Fried wontons... like an egg roll taste, not for me. Or maybe not what I expected. And I have never gotten burnt white rice from any place I have ordered from.

Used to come here all the time the days my husband is vegan but eventually had to stop because they kept messing up our order. So many times we had missing items such as rice, sauce and items. They kept blaming one of the workers but if this happens every time and not just to us and other customers as well don't you think they would've tried to fix the issue?

Fresh Meadows usually has good vegan/vegetarian restaurants, a little while back Quantum Leap closed its long time place nearby and recently one of Sri Chimoy's followers vegetarian outposts, Oneness Fountain Heart bit the dust (funny, I thought vegan/vegetarian food was supposed to help you live longer? haha). There was a need for healthy, delicious, well made vegan/vegetarian so enter Amitabha, which serves Chinese food vegan style (Seems they recently switched to all Vegan from Vegetarian) and I cannot be more happy with this place. I recently ordered delivery which came quickly by a Tesla (!) driving delivery person, but recently I placed a pick up online order (Their website is queensvegan.com). They send you text messages when your food is being prepared and lets you know when it is ready. It is obvious that Amitabha is teched out! So teched out that upon entering the restaurant they seem to be in full pandemic mode. a "voice from God" welcomes me over speakers - I look around puzzled as a couple of other customers laugh and direct me to an iPad/camera setup with a friendly hostess who informs me my order wasn't ready (it was past the 30-40 min estimate I received). I went outside and received a text when it hit 60 min (This place is popular!). You pick up your numbered order from a sectioned cage. Their food is incredible, nearly everything I had from here is perfectly seasoned, abundant and just so damn good. The BBQ roast vege pork, which my friend/fellow Yelper Chun called "sacrilegious" haha - I hear you, but this is better than many of the horrible real pork versions I've had else where. Try it and you might be surprised how much you like it. The roasted vege duck is the same - amazing how much it looks like sliced duck with skin, fat and meat layers. Even eating it coats your lips with delicious liquidly fat as if this was real duck. It is served on a bed of generous vegetables. The pepper and salt king mushroom app is ridiculously good. Salt and Pepper shrimp is a fav of mine and this nailed the flavors perfectly - perfect coating and seasoning. Amitabha's dish is one I can see myself craving. The one miss I must say is the General Tso's chicken - the vege meat had a weird texture and it tasted overcooked as is usually the case with General Tso in general so they nailed that aspect haha. The fried coating and sauce had a well made flavor though. The dry sautéed string bean is a great version - I notice a subtle fresh ginger note in the background over perfectly prepared string beans. Amitabha is a winning combo of reasonably priced, generous and deliciously prepared food. You can really taste the difference from my most restaurants/take out spots. I plan on being a regular here.

This isn't your traditional dine in restaurant. You walk in, order through a computer screen, and pay. You grab a table, sit, wait for food, and eat. Service doesn't really exist. I wonder if this set up is temporary for COVID. Besides this, I had a good experience with the food. Ordered the General Tso's Seitan and Sweet and Sour Tofu. Absolutely love the seitan as it was crispy and flavorful. The tofu could use a little bit more flavoring but the sauce is great and the I loved the veggies. Pricing is perfect. Great portion size and both entrees come with rice. I really admire this restaurant. The parents and their children are working hard to run the business and I really do love that. They are very hard working and this is a small business you must support!

Really wanted to like this place since it had good reviews and we wanted a healthier meal. Not sure how it was before pandemic but they have a person on the computer screen to help you with your order. At first, I thought it was so cool, but then realized that not having a person to man the front is a totally bad idea. My friend and I both called in for our order and we were both sitting there for an hour waiting for our food. Apparently, the Asian lady was yelling at the computer screen saying "big problem, lots of big problem". We were concerned and asked about our food, but they assured us the food was coming out. The lady on the screen wfh so she knew nothing of what was going on in the kitchen. We ordered the fake general Tso chicken, mock duck noodle soup, and the fake roasting pork but I didn't realized half my order was missing. I called to get a refund. The general Tso chicken was nasty and tasted like a sponge and the mock duck was noodle soup was super bland. I've been to vegan places before and have definitely tasted better quality food compared to this place. Definitely not returning. P.S. please put away your cash register. I feel like this place might get robbed one day despite all the cameras they have in the restaurant.

The service is good they are so nice and accommodating. The food is amazing. Its a nice chill spot to sit down and eat.

I was one of them when I first visited this restaurant about a decade ago and did so during my recent session again. Though they may be one of the best options for traditional Chinese food in the area, comparing them to restaurants in Flushing would land them on the lower end of the spectrum. With that said, they do certain things relatively well, namely the dumplings. I prefer their pan fried dumplings over the boiled because of the skin texture. For some reason, the boiled ones felt a bit tough and chewy, while the pan fried dumplings were better, especially since it has a crispy crust on the bottom. Fillings I have tried are chive & pork, as well as cabbage & pork. Both were quite good and stuffed to the brim. I also do like their wontons with spicy sauce, which has a shrimp & pork filling. Also plump and juicy, these wontons are quite delicious. The sauce is not really all that spicy, but flavorful. As for other items I have tried, most were not bad but below average. That includes the Dan Dan Mein, Beijing Style Noodles, and the Sesame Pancake with Beef. One thing I would recommend to skip would be the Hot & Sour Soup, which was neither hot or sour. If you are in the neighborhood and craving some dumplings or wontons, then seek out this little shop. However, if you want any other types of Chinese food, I would advise you to skip.

The dumplings are so addicting too. Especially since I don't like the hard skin but they use a thin wrapping for their dumplings (like their wontons) which I love. For the lo mein, I loved the option to add beef stew sauce to the noodle. The extra charge is so worth it! Maxi's Noodle 2 definitely deserves my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval! Two thumbs up! The Chinese beef stew makes a great compliment to a bowl of steamy noodles with tender slices of beef flank and beef tendons (my favorite part). We also get a dish of boiled vegetables with oyster sauce to round out our meal (usually baby Chinese Broccoli or choy sum). My male server pulled a laminated QR code card from the condiment tray and plopped down instructing me to scan it for the menu. I immediately gave him a wracked with grief and anguish look as scanning such QR codes was during COVID-19 era which now post COVID-19 it is very callous and utter impersonal. The broth was very oily and flavorful with onions. The soup broth oil bubbles are very visible for the high level of cholesterol and fat content. The rice noodles were chopped rather than long continuous noodle strains. The meat seemingly appeared semi-cooked as there were noticeable visible pink areas. It has become one of our regular spots whenever we're in Flushing. We stopped in tonight around 5:00 p.m., and it was already busy, which is always a good sign. We shared the seafood pancake, my husband ordered the steamed dumplings, and I had the soft tofu with long noodles and vegetables in a mild flavor. Everything was flavorful and satisfying as always. I forgot to take photos of the seafood pancake and dumplings before we started eating--they looked too good to wait! They also bring two complimentary small side dishes to start. I usually go straight for the kimchi, and the staff is always attentive, asking if we need more and happily bringing additional servings. The entire staff is kind, courteous, and attentive. This continues to be a reliable and enjoyable place for us, and we will definitely keep coming back.

Big space, easy to come in on a weeknight and get seated for a table of four and the service was very friendly. This place is perfect for when it's the winter and you need some knifecut noodles to help heal your soul. We got a variety of them of varying thicknesses, which one you'll like better is entirely preference. We got the dumplings and the okonomi which were solid, though I think the noodles is really where they shine. Unassuming place, made it onto this reddit list of authentic places people would eat seeking food from their own countires and as someone who grew up eating a fair amount of korean food I really liked it here. Hope they stick around for a long time!

They have a larger dining room that's perfect for big groups, so getting everyone together is comfortable and stress-free. The food is solid, classic Chinese comfort fare -- flavorful, satisfying, and yes, unapologetically rich in MSG (the good kind that makes everything extra tasty). The Fish Fillet Home Style is always a hit with the younger crowd, and the Double Cooked Pork is another standout -- think lechon-style pork belly tossed with plenty of vegetables in a savory brown sauce. That combo somehow gets the kids happily eating their veggies too. They also do Hot & Sour Soup right -- nicely balanced with the perfect tang and heat. The sautéed snow pea leaves with garlic is a staple order for us, and the pan-fried noodles are consistently delicious with great texture. The crispy garlic chicken was surprisingly good as well -- super flavorful and cooked just right. Portions are generous, making it ideal for sharing family-style. The staff are friendly and quick, and the place is clean and well-kept, which makes dining there even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable, no-frills spot for big group dining with satisfying dishes, Wo Kee delivers every time.

They still have clear partitions between each table post COVID. Front of house service is mediocre, it's hard to get their attention even when there are only 2 tables of guests. The wait time for food is over 20 minutes long during slow foot traffic. We ordered the dimsum and portions were larger than your typical ones you get. Flavor was delicious and if you need sauces, there are complimentary chili crisp oil, soy sauce and white pepper. Use at your own discretion as the condiments are not labeled with best before dates. Bathroom is accessible. Cleanliness and odor could use some work. Overall, I suggest ordering ahead of time or do a quick take out order if you are on a time crunch.

When life is lackadaisical and you need an uplifting force or encouragement for catharsis to be resilient as an awakening, dumplings are summoned. It brings presence to every bite for awareness and genuine aliveness. My emotional pain cannot be disconnected for healing. As I sat in silence I checked my email waiting for my order fulfillment and arrival. This business is a local cafe, not quite a restaurant but very Asian specifically a medley of Chinese dumplings and heavy Japanese decor atmosphere. I was very bewildered of this dumpling business is Japanese or Chinese cuisine, or possibly both incorporated? Asian fusion? Japanese beckoning cat, maneki-neko 招き猫, is heavy presence for decor atmosphere throughout the entire cafe. There is one large Japanese beckoning cat with one paw raised in a beckoning gesture by the cash wrap register. This beckoning cat is adorable! The menu is very simple offerings but does not describe the contents in detail. It is not a extensive list as it is a cafe. The server/cashier advise to order first, sit to eat and pay last like a full service restaurant. This business has been listed in my Yelp bookmark to try for a long time. The slightly warm temperature has teased me to induce Spring Fever as the first full day post Daylight Saving Time, 2026 and I was outdoors for walk as exercise. Sauces and condiments are available at a station counter. There is one large TV. Background music is somewhat loud audible and sourced by Spotify. Customer service is average. There is one unisex facility on the premise and is relatively clean. There is a small parking lot in the front shared with neighboring businesses. This business is located in a small shopping complex named Metro Plaza. Chicken dumpling noodle soup, $12.00 The dumplings were pan seared fried, unfortunately not traditionally boiled especially for noodle soup. The dumplings are average. The noodles were rice vermicelli with half boiled egg and scallions in Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth. The Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth and half boiled egg is a replica of Japanese Ramen noodle soup. It was served piping hot. Chinese soup spoon Tangzhi ladle where the end is at a angle is provided with one disposable wooden chopstick as utensils. Jasmine Tea, cold $1.50 This was awful! It was one tea bag filled with ice. I did not taste the Jasmine aromatic flavor. Stay away from ordering any drink as Song Dumpling Cafe is good for dumplings. It is certainly no bubble tea business to obtain quality Chinese tea. After my MTA NYC Transit SBS Q52 bus ride, I walked from Woodhaven Boulevard moving east on Metropolitan Avenue to gain access.

My mother ordered the chicken noodle soup with chicken broth, but it was disappointingly flavorless. Even worse, the chicken was incredibly tough. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and, despite having other protein options, chose the chicken because the photo made it look delicious. Boy, was that a mistake. The chicken in my dish wasn't quite as tough as my mother's, likely because the meat was added afterward rather than cooked in the broth from the start. Still, it was far from tender. To their credit, they were extremely generous with the portion of meat, but my mother's chicken was tough as nails. I'm giving this place three stars because I genuinely think our choices didn't showcase the restaurant at its best. A couple of days later, I ordered the duck salad and drunken noodles for takeout, and both dishes were actually quite good. Based on that experience, I'd definitely be willing to give them another try and explore more of the menu.
