I don't do many reviews but my favorite is always a Philly Cheesesteak so when I seen a Detroit Cheesesteak on the menu I had to try it. Great new spot opened in the old Sears garage at Oakland Mall. Great vibe to go with food truck they have. Great amount of seating area with ample parking. Ordered the "Corktown BBQ Beef". The Tender Beef, sweet pickled jalapeños, crispy fried onions and combination of bbq sauces was amazing. NOTE: the sandwich is huge and can be shared. Ordered the garlic cilantro fries on the side. This here is my favorite food truck period. Detroit 75 Kitchen is one of those vendors that gets a lot of attention from social media. Many places like this are all hype and no substance, but I can tell you with much confidence this is not the case here. One major reason for their success is their small menu, which prioritizes quality ingredients and generous portions over having a large selection to choose from. This is very important, because it means that the food is consistently fresh and delicious. My Cheesesteak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, packed with juicy and well seasoned strips of beef along with crunchy vegetables. The whole thing comes perfectly together with the vinaigrette that is quite liberal. But the genius aspect of this sandwich is the thick and crispy bread that withstands all the moisture inside, keeping it from falling apart. The garlic cilantro fries also have to be some of the best fried potatoes I've ever had, and one order of those can easily feed 2 people by itself. Stopped by Detroit 75 kitchen in Troy during a trip to Michigan and wow what a great scene! Great indoor and outdoor setup with plenty of room and great music playing outside. Service was also fast and pleasant. Food wise, I got the 3rd St. Detroit Cheesesteak with garlic cilantro fries and Corktown BBQ beef, All I can say is WOW... both sandwiches were delicious, I personally loved the BBQ beef, and the garlic cilantro fries were some of the best loaded friend I've ever had.. everything was fresh as could be and perfectly seasoned. We finally got around to trying this food truck located at the old Sears Auto at Oakland Mall. Interesting reuse of this space! It was a gorgeous day so we were happy to sit at a sunny picnic table. Great music and friendly staff. I ordered the shrimp po boy. It was pretty good -- fresh, hot and filled to the max with ingredients. We spilt the egg rolls, which I was super excited to try. I thought they were just okay -- I was hoping they'd be crisper and the filling wasn't anything exciting. I ate half of one and left the rest for my husband to eat. His cheesesteak sandwich was not as filled as mine - looked nothing like the amazing photo on the menu. Overall, it was just okay for me. Glad we tried it but I won't rush back. read more

I was so curious to try this new place in Troy but I'm a bit disappointed! Ordered " Large" perch with shrimps and came with garlic cilantro fries. Well .... Paid 6.5$ for 9 shrimps ( supposed to be 10) , the perch is more like a baby perch not a large and i barely had fries on the bottom of the box . Totally Paid 33$ with the tip for this order and for the amount of food is very expensive I saw few comments here about how big the portions are .... I presume was a joke The shrimp taste very good , the perch was ok but nothing wow , and the fries are very thin cut and I had the bed luck to got them just warm I'll try to order one more time something different and that will be decisive for me if I'll return again or not ( I like to give a second chance to everyone lol) read more

The order we received were Luke warm and small pieces that fall to the bottom of the bag and Squishy! Why would you serve them this way? They were nothing like the pics we saw on your site or on ticktock. I wasn't going to give a yelp review but the response I got when I responded via text message from you was simply thank you for reporting this? Cmon you have the ability to serve good food 100% of the time. Why was this experience ruined for us? The swarma ordered was ok. We finished the sandwich but threw the fries away. Great food. This location (Troy) is in the garage part of the old Sears Automotive Service at Oakland Mall (at the East or, John R end). You go inside, if you haven't already done so, you download the menu using the QR code, place your order at the counter and wait. They text you when it's ready and you go outside to the food truck and pick up your order. They also do online orders and you can place your order, park in the parking lot right near the truck, wait for the text and your all set. You can go back inside and eat or take it home (or eat in your car!). It's cold in the old garage, so keep that in mind. We got the 3rd Street (Detroit) Cheesesteak and the Corktown BBQ beef with a large Garlic Cilantro Fries. Everything was delicious! The meat was tender, the bread was outstanding and all around great flavors. They're not open on weekends but hey, their reason is that they all want to have a life. When you make good food you can do that! Service was very polite, prices are a decent value as well. Give them a try. read more

Visited Detroit 75 for lunch. Waiter at the counter was nice snd offered suggestions. Restaurant is interesting because it's still a food truck, you order at the counter inside, and then need to go outside to get your food. It's in the old Sears garage, which gives it a very cool location. I'll add that because it lacks real doors, and just has plastic type doors, it's very chilly Food is very good, servings was very large. Will return again for sure. read more

For all the hype, and relatively high price for what you get, I was rather underwhelmed. The couple of items that I got were large enough that the quantity was not a problem, but the taste was lacking. All the additional sauces you could get really didn't help much and were unremarkable. I waited for almost 20 minutes to get my food when it was not busy at all. Be prepared to be kinda disappointed with your meal because your expectations were too high. Also, they don't have a free source of water. If this was only a remote food truck I could understand, but they are attached to a brick and mortar location for seating and ordering that they could put a water cooler in easily. It's an exciting place near Oakland Mall. Technically, it's a food truck, but they created a dining area around it. You order and pay at the counter, and they text you when your order is ready. Most people seem to order online already and have it to go. The dining area itself is spacious and clean. It's quite an open space, so it's best for warmer days. The portion is enormous, but all the food is served in to-go boxes; thus, packing home leftovers is easy. For a sandwich, they're really delicious. I've tried the Fisher Fwy. Fish and Atwater St. Chicken. Generous and fresh fillings both times and I love how saucy the sandwiches are (but not to the point they got soggy). Well seasoned. Surprisingly, to me, one of the best parts is the bread, especially the sesame roll. It's so crispy on the outside but fluffy and chewy on the inside. It's a very filling meal, but I enjoyed it every time. The prices may be more expensive than other sandwiches, but it's worth it since it feels like a gourmet sandwich. read more

My friends and I decided to meet for lunch because it was a beautiful day. Luckily we arrived right before the lunch rush, which seems to start around 12:30pm. You order inside the building and pick up your food from the food truck when they call your name. The strawberry lemonade is delicious. You can taste fresh strawberry and it's not too sweet. Service was fast and friendly. We chose a table in the outdoor area (there are a few tables inside as well). The empanadas were not good to my group. They lacked flavor and the filling didn't seem to actually have a lot of meat. I wouldn't order those again. The Atwater chicken sandwich was good. It also could have used a little more seasoning but the portion is big and the bread is a mix of crunchy and soft. The fries were good but even better with the roasted jalapeño ketchup. Overall it was ok but not something I would drive out of my way to get. read more

me and my brother went to the detroit location years ago and loved it, so we were so excited that there's one so much closer now. love the overall layout was nice chill vibes so that you can order quickly and take a seat to enjoy the nice weather. seating area is nice and has plenty of picnic-bench type of seating. the food was so yum. i ordered the atwater chicken sandwich and loved it - great chicken to lettuce to sauce ratio. very tasty and hod an array of flavors. my brother got the corktown BBQ burger and also really liked it, said it was really flavorful and liked the bread. the woman helping us today was SO SWEET and gave us great reccs and tips. you have to get the strawberry lemonade, AMAZING! read more
