Ordered Large Margherita ($26.00, "Cherry Tomato, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Brick Cheese, Grana Padano and Basil."). They also offer a large "Plain" for a competitive $21 ("Tomato Sauce, Brick & Mozzarella Cheese and EVO"), Pepperoni (Pepperoni, Tomato Sauce, Brick Cheese, Mozzarella, Grana Padano, Italian Oregano and fresh herbs), and "Halal Pepperoni" (according to website: same as "Pepperoni," but without Grana Padano, Oregano, & herbs, and added mushrooms). They had an ongoing "2for1" deal on a variety of small pizzas, so additionally ordered a small "Pepperoni" and small "Plain." Asked all to be "well done," and extra sauce on half the "Margherita" (chef seems to have mistakenly added extra sauce on the entire pizza). No mention of dimensions online, but in-store shows Large=10"x14" and Small=8"x"10" Dough not super doughy or "melt-in-your-mouth" like 'Renaissance' but not dry neither, for decent support. Tomato sauce naturally acidic without being sour/tart. Tasted somewhat minimally processed (not a bad thing). Cheese on top was good but not complex-flavoured (not light and not overpowering), but the darkened cheese along vertical edge (about 1/2 way down sides) was a very great touch: added great crunchy texture to counter softness of the airy thick dough, and offering potently savoury umami flavour. Pepperoni nicely peppery and added extra savouriness. Although the large "Plain" for $21 is seemingly a great deal, when practically all large "Detroit-style" pizzas start around $27-$28, the thicker dough overtakes the flavour profile without a respective complex combination of cheese and/or other toppings (including sauces), so would recommend avoiding the "Plain" and instead would highly reccomend the "Pepperoni" because it is a nice mix with the tomato sauce, adds texture between the soft inner dough and the crispy cheesy edges, and overall adds more flavour and toppings to the thick dough. With unique options like Korean- and Mexican-themed pizzas, and the offering of "Halal Pepperoni" for broader appeal, Detroit Pizzeria is a must-try for those seeking "Detroit-style" pizza in an under-served area. read more

I saw this place a few times as walked by. Tried their Beef pepperoni version. Very doughy and oily. Funny enough it reminded me of deep dish pizza Hut in the subcontinent. Its filling I would give them that so not having any reference point other than the one's offered in Toronto I assume this is how Detroit City pizza is supposed to be like. Three hungry adults ordered delivery through Skip The Dishes the other night. We ordered a large Motor City pizza and to our surprise (via Skip) came with a free small pepperoni pizza. We also got 2 pounds of wings the Cajun spicy and BBQ. The pizza was delicious- well made, well seasoned, well dressed and with fresh ingredients. Both pizzas were excellent but the Motor City was worth the hype. We were told the pizza is very filling and can put you in couch mode if you eat too much. I had 4 pieces overall 3 of Motor City and 1 pepperoni and was very full but not quite the couch-mode. The wings were crispy and flavorful. We loved both kinds but the spicy dry rub was unique and spicy. Delivery didn't help us on learning about the restaurant's ambiance, but the packaging was well done and sustainable. I was happy with a Detroit pizzeria opened up near me and have been waiting to try it. My partner and I ordered from Skip the other day. We ordered a small Cancun, a small Motor City, arancini, and a Detroit greens salad. We got a free small plain pizza as well. Although the food was fresh and hot, I think I would prefer to eat there or do pick-up next time so it's even more fresh. Either way, it held up well unlike some things you order on delivery. The arancini were delicious. They were a mushroom base, which my partner didn't love, but he still liked them. The sauce was a perfect pair with it and very fresh tasting. I loved how they weren't covered, so there was still a crunchy coating. I loved the Detroit salad as well. It was nice to have a lot of fresh, light, vegetables to pair with our cheesy pizza. I loved the plain pizza. The Motorcity and Cancun were both equally as amazing. Lots of fresh ingredients with a good topping to crust ratio. I'm always a bit wary ordering Detroit or Chicago style pizzas for delivery. There's a whole lotta dough in them that could get soggy or cardboard-y real fast. I'm happy to report that Detroit Pizzeria holds up on delivery. I got a small Motor City pizza and the crust was properly airy/chewy/crispy. While I would have liked it to be just a bit more buttery, it was pretty good. Toppings of pepperoni, mushrooms and ranch dressing were generous, though I would have wanted it to have a bit more bacon and a lot more cheese. Just a personal preference though because overall, Detroit Pizzeria does justice to the Detroit style pizza. read more

Really yummy - cheese crust was very crunchy - although the bread is THICK, it was not dry or "too bready" - came with a perfect amount of kimchi side. Kimchi wasn't too sour and was good - price was good @ $30. My friend and I were VERY hungry. We stuffed ourselves by eating 6/8 slices for dinner - last 2 slices reheated well. I added more kimchi and sirracha at home Cons: - chicken was mostly batter. I think some "chicken" chunks were entirely batter since they were so small. There are other Detroit-style places like 8 Mile and Descendant with better pizza in my opinion. The place has a nice simple interior with seating for maybe 15 people. I love this pizza spot! I'm a long time fan of Detroit style pizza because of its cheesy, crispy crust and golden brown dough. This place does it right! I tried the motor city & the kfc pizza (pizza of the week) and loved both. One small is more than enough for one person. If you're two people I'd recommend getting two small pies so you can try different toppings! It's priced at around $19-23 per small pie depending on the type you get. Finally a pizza arrived without the delivery people screwing it up! My small Mediterranean pizza arrived hot and was super cripsy...actually probably the crispiest crust i have tried! The Mediterranean was one of their "pizza of the week" offerings so may not be available by the time you read this. Now for my thoughts...as others have mentioned, the pizza is on the smaller side. Apart from that, it was quite good. The sauce/toppings were fresh and tasted good and as i mentioned, the crust was super crispy. So would i order from them again? Maybe. The simple fact is that i like spicy food and as such prefer 8Mile's spicy pie. The size of and toppings on that pizza are also more filling so I would prefer to spend my money there if i have to choose. That having been said, Detroit Pizzeria was good enough for me to recommend them if you are interested in Detroit style pizzas and you like their flavour combinations. They are wildly inconsistent. You order the same pizza twice in one week you'll get different toppings each time. They have descriptions on their Uber eats platform and photos of the toppings, the pizza rarely looks this way. it's very frustrating when you pay $20+ for a small pizza and it's not made correctly. It was very nice. The smell of the cheese is amazing. (Just a little more delicious cheese, please?). The wild mushroom is very decadent and filling. The "pound" of wings was 263 g on the scale (1lb = 453g) , with exactly 2 tiny pieces of carrot and 2 tiny pieces of celery near it. The thick crust is definitely different from what we usually get and while not all family members like traditional (run of the mill) pizza crust, we all liked this one. Was thick but soft. And the crunchy edges were delicious. The tomato sauce on top of the cheese was Detroit-like. The sauce was thick and flavorful. We tried the motor city pizza and the toppings were fresh and delicious. We could taste all promised toppings which isn't always the case. We also tried the Caesar salad and it was homemade and excellent as well. Light, garlicky dressing. They offer dipping sauces and I suspect those who like that sort of thing would like them with the thick crust. We didn't feel they were necessary.
