We don't go to DWC a lot because it's pretty far for us but this time we decided to make the trip and it did not live up to its expectations. Half of my fries came out soggy which was disappointing to begin with and on top of that my husband didn't even get his fries with his combo meal. Boneless wings is quick and easy, right. Tried the sauces garlic Parmesan, Carolina gold, firecracker, whisky BBQ and honey BBQ. The garlic Parmesan and the firecracker sauce are our two better sauces. We ordered 24 boneless wings, half with the firecracker sauce and half with the garlic Parmesan sauce and a half pound of slaw too. Order takes 15 minutes. They already had my phone from another order at their Eastpointe location a while back. They will send a text when the food is ready. Their two bigger tables are both dirty on one side, staff is too busy with the carry out orders to bus and clean the tables much. Some fancy like playing in the background and then some Happier than ever with Billie Eilish. Food took closer to 17 minutes to be ready for us. The garlic Parmesan is good, piping hot. Plates might be a good here. I have some cartilage in my second piece, yuck. As much as it kills me to do this, I feel it has to be done in hopes that at the very least management learns from this experience and corrects for future customers as I will no longer be one them... First off, the wings are good in my opinion, so no issues there. Sure they might be expensive, but everything everywhere is now in days. So there's that. I placed an order with them as I did in the past for their buy BOGO (Buy one, Get one) offer that is consistently thrown in my face whenever I open my Uber eats app. So with them consistently promoting BOGO offers, I'm assuming they're trying to continue to grow their brand. It's hard enough to grow a profitable small business these days even with perfect service, let alone subpar which I will explain next. Alright, so I place my order on Feb 5 2025 on my Uber eats app like I've done in the past. In addition to their wonderful BOGO offer, I'll typically order an additional allotment of bone-in wings. Order came in decent time just like it has in past. Only this time I noticed that all that was inside was my BOGO offer and NOT my additional bone-in wings that I also ordered. No big deal as I'm a VERY easy and understanding person. I get that stuff happens, no problem. I'll just give them a call and let them know and would even be willing to go pick up the wings myself that I already paid for at a later time/date. Called, no answer, left a very kind and detailed message. Again, no big deal, maybe they're busy and I'm sure they'll call me back when they can to fix this extremely small issue. No call back that day.... So I'll call the next day (Thursday, Feb 6th), again calm friendly message, once again.... No call back! So I called again every single day (just once per day) and continued to leave messages. Never heard back from anyone ever..... So at this I am a little annoyed and disappointed, but hey, maybe they're busy have phone issues or something? I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. I'll just head over there, explain what happened to the manager politely and they will hopefully rectify the situation here. I finally had some time to go in yesterday Feb 11th 2025 with my Uber eats receipt. I'm a strong believer in character and integrity, so I thought to myself to NOT ask for anything other than what was owed me... you know the wings that I already paid for at week ago... and just see how management would handle the situation. So I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady at the ordering desk and told I'd like to talk to a manager at their earliest convenience and she said ok with a big smile on her face, she was great! After waiting for about 15 minutes in their lobby (again, no big deal, maybe they're busy), out comes the manager. Of course I forgot his name, but I doubt there's many managers there.... I explained the situation to him very calmly and politely. He didn't give me much of an attitude, but I could definitely tell from his body language it felt burdened by me. He just said something along the lines of, "Ok, so just want your 5 wings?" And I said, Sure, that's all I ask for I guess, I just want what I paid for." No apology whatsoever even and barely any acknowledgement. So then I went back and sat for another 15 minutes or so while they made my 5 wings.... Also explained to him that I called once a day every single day since and left a message, once again little to no acknowledgement for that and no apology WHATSOEVER. I thought to myself, well maybe he'll surprise with I don't know, maybe another 5 wings or some fries or something? NOPE! Just the 5 wings that I paid for a week ago. I even apologized to him for the inconvenience, he said sure, no problem. I at least thought after that maybe he would offer me a 10% discount card in the future (or something else dumb like that) or at the very least an apology...... NOPE! NOTHING! This day in age it's again hard enough for QSRs (Quick Service Restaurants) the make a name for theirselves and grow their customer base, but when you add so-called service like this to the situation, it makes it that much worse. I'm writing this as I'm scarfing down an order of eight boneless wings ... before I cook my actual dinner, because I had been craving wings lately (I'll eat four now and save four for later). I live and work in the Troy area and this place recently opened, in the old Whole Foods plaza. I was craving wings so after an appointment today, I stopped by. I placed my order online and it was ready about 5 minutes after I arrived; they quoted me 20 minutes online but it probably only took about 10-15. If you're ordering eight wings, you can choose two sauces, hence why I ordered eight wings instead of six. I chose Teriyaki and Honey BBQ. Both sauces were good, although I'll admit that B-dubs' Honey BBQ is a tiny bit better. The wings are HUGE, though, and extremely juicy. Only reason they get 4/5 stars from me and not 5/5 is that B-dubs (my gold standard for wings) is SLIGHTLY crunchier. Otherwise, these were very tasty, and I'll definitely be back for their happy hour some day - from 3-5pm, every day, they do 40% off boneless wings, and I believe you cannot get this offer online. The other flavors looked really good too, specifically the Asian Orange and Butter Cheese, so I'll be back to try those next! For 24 wings I thought you could choose 6 sauces, but the max was 4, so we chose Butter Cheese, Bold BBQ, Asian Orange, and Honey Chipotle. The cheese sticks were DELICIOUS, as was the cornbread muffin (more like a little loaf of cornbread). As for the sauces: Butter Cheese was more like a dry rub, and kind of disappointing. Asian Orange was good but a bit spicy for me, and I wasn't a fan of Honey Chipotle at all, for some reason; it almost tasted tomato-y. This was my second time here at Detroit Wing co and my husband and I love it. Today we just wanted tenders and so we ordered the buffalo, the Firecracker sauce, and their sweet heat (second hottest). My husband and I love buffalo sauce but the sweet heat is our new favorite. It's got that delicious kick of heat but it isn't overpowering. We also tried the mozzerrella sticks and they were a great tender accompaniment. Highly recommend trying this place out. My wife and I wanted to support the Yelp Support Your Local Restaurant Night on Saturday and had been wanting to try the Detroit Wing Company. So I called and got a really nice young lady who helped us with the menu. We ended up ordering 12 normal wings ( they gave us 13) with their homemade Buffalo sauce which was excellent. We added the homemade dill potato salad which we also enjoyed. They made it easy and super safe considering CV19. As I drove up I received a text telling me my order was ready and to social distance when I came in. I was the only one in the restaurant and a really nice young lady took care of me. So I've been back a few times since the bad first impression and they've been better with consistently tasty food. Was going to bump them up to 3 stars with more room for improvement until tonight. Picked up my order about 6:20pm monday 9/27/21 and the wings (that I ordered plain) had freezer burn all over them. I guess they've been hiding it under the sauce. The flavors, however were super delicious and slightly different from the typical hot garlic flavors I've tried. The sauce had a nice tangy flavor to it. Fries were just okay. They also didn't put ranch in the bag even though I think it's suppose to come with the meal. When ordering online, it didn't give me the option to choose ranch on the side and so I was going to ask in person but forgot, so that's my fault. Very poor management resulting in poor customer service. Last night I ordered 30 wings and some sides at 5pm for the lions game. I paid ahead of time and received a text with a quoted pickup time at 6. Went into the store at my quoted pickup time and it was a MESS. There were at least 30 people in that store all wondering where their food was. The orders placed ahead of time were not prioritized over the day-of orders and no one was getting their food. There was no clear line or direction on where to wait for food and the staff said verbatim that they could not quote wait times for orders, just that they had 178 orders to complete before 8pm when the store closes and that you would get a text when your order was ready for pickup. I left the store and came back at halftime to see if maybe my food was ready. The staff said "about 30 minutes" so I left for a second time. I called 45 minutes later to see when my food would be ready. I was then told by a very rude staff member over the phone that "I cant give you an estimate, but maybe 20 more minutes". It was then after 8pm, I called to check in a fourth time and the store was closed/phones were off. I never got a text that my food was ready later that night either. I had to call this morning to get my refund. Management should have turned off online orders at least 24 hours in advance since they did not have the capacity to deal with the influx of orders. It was very clear that the staff was overwhelmed resulting in poor customer service. Very disappointed. Will not be ordering from this location again. read more

We've had takeout and have DoorDashed DWC several times now (DoorDash from the Waterford location) and it is always consistent. We love their sauces and dry flavors, our favorites are 1. They had plenty of meat and delicious chicken flavor, they were juicy and they had the perfect amount of crispiness. We walked in and were greeted promptly by the cashier and we explained that it was our first time to Detroit Wing Company and she pointed out some of the most popular options on their giant menu on the wall. She let us try the two sauces that we ended up getting. She also explained when their happy hour happens and the benefits of happy hour. The cashier was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The menu showed that you could get the lunch special with eighteen classic wings, two orders of fries and a large side for about $28. We chose to get twenty-four wings instead because you get more meat for less money. I think twenty-four classic wings cost us $26. The restaurant was extremely clean from the dining area to the bathroom, which is important to us, and they played some cool music. We heard Tones and I - Dance Monkey while we were there. I love that song. I gave four stars instead of five because it took twenty minutes for us to get our food. I understand that they had a lunch rush with lots of online orders and call-ahead orders, but twenty minutes is a long time to wait for lunch. This is the new place that everyone has been talking about and for good reason. Now I'm not from the Detroit area but when I came to visit I wanted some chicken wings and not from your BW's or Wing Stop, I wanted to try some place different, even if you think wings are the same everywhere. Well this place is different and so are the sauces, 19 of them to be exact. This place is a takeout wing shop, you can eat there but there isn't a lot of space. I love the fact that it's clean and the employees are super friendly. Also the place doesn't smell like a dirty fryer, there is nothing more I hate then a restaurant that smells like a dirty fryer. Once I entered the shop I was greeted right away. After looking at their menu for a minute (which is super simple to read) I was still not sure which one of the 19 sauces I wanted to try. The front lady asked what I was into and I was into Sweet and spicy. At BW's I always like buffalo hot and Asian zing so when I told her this she recommended Asian Orange, Fire Cracker, and Sweet Heat. She explained the different flavors and I was still skeptical about the taste, she then offered a sample of each. I love when an employee goes above and beyond to make me happy with my order. When I got the samples I tried the Asian Orange first and I was not into the candy taste. Then I tried the Sweet Heat and kicked me right in the taste buds. Sweet heat is not like candy and the heat is good and spicy. The flavor is the right amount of sweet that caramelizes the chicken then sticks to your bones. Sweet heat reminds me of a tangy BBQ sauce. I love this flavor. Then I had to try the Fire Cracker, this one is all flavor and low on heat but still makes you come back for more. The Fire Cracker just has a great taste that is hard to explain, it just has great flavor and is very unique. The sauce is thick and is easy to eat, so if your not a fan lots of heat this is the sauce for you. Fire cracker is lightly sweet but has more of that chili flavor. I ended up ordering 12 traditional half Sweet Heat and Fire Cracker. The only reason why I didn't give this place 5 star is because it's not a place to sit down and enjoy your wings. I really hate doing this, but I was so disappointed with the food, I had to. I had such high hopes as the Instagram posts for this place are phenomenal, like drool worthy. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing like what I saw in the posts. First, I want to compliment them on their service. We were greeted promptly and the nice young woman taking our order was happy to help and give suggestions. Second, the food. My friend and I ordered one order of traditional wings and one order of boneless. We didn't order the sauce on it so we could try several and see which we liked best for next time. We also ordered coleslaw and carrots and celery with ranch and blue cheese. The boneless wings seemed like some basic boneless wings from Gordon's Food Service. I hate to say that but they were just very basic, bland and soft (not crispy like they should be). I'd hate to see what they'd be like with sauce on them. The traditional wings were much better, fried to crispy and are a good size compared to most places that sell wings. The sauce, we ordered buffalo, honey chipotle and firecracker. For whatever reason the buffalo sauce was like paste. Nothing like the wing sauce you see blanketing the beautiful wings on Instagram. They look so saucy and delicious. Unfortunately they didn't deliver on my visit. The firecracker sauce had good of consistency and was very tasty. The honey chipotle was good as well if you're into bbq sauce on your wings. The coleslaw, at first bite it was ok but was so bland and tired that we didn't even eat half of it. Finally the worst thing we had was the celery and carrots. Mushy and completely water logged. They tasted like they had been floating in water for way too long. Half of them were even inedible. Luckily for the rest, the ranch and blue cheese are good so we could dip them to add flavor and hide the poor texture. I know this place just opened so maybe it's juusy growing pains, but I have to say - I'm not sure I I'm going to go back after this.
