Incompetence at it's finest. Had to make multiple calls for the same issue, getting the same clueless tech who couldn't even remember he (supposedly) resolved the issue the prior week. Although I have a service contract, billed me over $700 for parts without approval nor an actual bill, submitting to the credit card company using the card on file for auto-oil delivery. Yet, issue still not resolved, still only receiving limited heat. Avoid these hacks! Update 1/29: Comical that they say I'm not a customer now. I guess that will change when you see I disputed the charges with my CC company. Perhaps look up my address:)

Their communication was consistent, transparent on timeline and what work was needed to be done, and fair on pricing . Manny, RJ, TJ, Brad, Nick, Vartan and Carla were truly wonderful throughout the process of negotiating and the install. As someone that has worked in the construction and design industry before, and was the point person to coordinate GC's , sub contractors, engineers, and architects on major jobs in the past I can't say enough nice things about this small business, and how highly I would recommend them. Steve (owner), you truly have employed an incredible team. Thank you again!

Got central heat/AC installed a year ago; installation dragged way over the predicted time, but was…read moreotherwise fine. Expensive, to be sure, but you expect that in these parts. "Free" annual maintenance time? Four house calls later, still have no AC (I think it worked before being "maintained" but if it had an issue over the winter, I wouldn't know), which I'm now told will be the case for the entirety of May. Communication has been dismal- e.g. getting a text for an upcoming appointment nobody told me was even a thing (apparently the maintenance wasn't completed and nobody told me). Multiple "whoops, we need to order a part, we'll call you in a week or two". Why a part gets ordered on the fourth house call? Beats me. Why they can't stock parts for the products they themselves install? Beats me. And I've paid for a surge protector as part of this "free" process (why wasn't it included initially? Who knows!) If you want to be stuck in a 95-degree house, I recommend Akian. If you want new people coming to your house to chat every week, I recommend Akian. If you want to actually get working HVAC, please let me know who I can talk to. But I guess most of the people I've talked to have been very nice. If they ever manage to get their act together and do their job, I'll update this review.

We got pipeline owner - Ms Chris Ernst's name from a friend. She literally is a lifesaver, superhero and the kindest human being! She came with Bob, a wonderful plumber and Joe, a great electrician, who basically did in one day what we have wanted to do in a year and a half with the contractors. Throughout the whole process, she was not only brilliant, but also kind, compassionate, explained everything and went above and beyond. We are a customer for her for life! I'd rate a hundred stars if we can. They don't just walk that extra mile, but they are really amazing problem solvers and diagnosticians like a surgeon to an ailing patient who has seen a dozen other doctors who can't do anything. Chris and her dream team healed our house and made it healthy again.

Other tradespeople have scoffed at the idea of working in urban homes with compact setups and have pontificated about how you can buy a large new construction home in some sleepy homogeneous car-dependent suburb for less money. I'm aware, but I can walk to the MFA. I'll take my European fridge and my toilet with less-than-ideal elbow room any day. These folks clearly know their stuff and were happy to brainstorm with us. They were respectful of me as an obviously knowledgeable DIY-er but with no credentials to speak of. They said the project was feasible, they were interested, and they would write up an estimate. Afterward, they ghosted me. They didn't provide the estimate, nor any notification that they would be unable to do the work.

They're fantastic!…read moreWhen you call, you always get a human being at the central office, and they're polite and responsive. The technicians show up promptly, do great work, and keep your home clean by wearing protective covers over their work boots (seriously, it's a small thing but it makes a world of difference to me). The annual service contracts are very reasonable, and contract customers get priority, which is awesome. You can't plan emergencies, but you can plan on setting up a contract! For twice-annual tuneups on our HVAC equipment, Luis and David have both been fantastic, giving good advice and making sure our systems (installed by another, less responsive company we no longer bother with) are in good order. I only wish we'd had them install our equipment in the first place. For insulation work, Corey and team were great about assessing our home, providing recommendations, and working on the fly when it turned out some of our walls already had insulation. These folks are easy to get ahold of, easy to work with, and unfailingly polite and awesome at their work. I can't say enough great things about them.

I had a frozen pipe emergency during freezing weather with no heat in the house. They came out, charged me $300, and didn't even provide a proper diagnosis. I was told it "might be" a broken circulator -- no certainty, no testing, just speculation. Meanwhile, they created a dripping valve, and they didn't even bother to tighten it despite my requesr. They said they would send an estimate and never did -- not for two days -- while we were literally shivering in the cold. When I finally followed up, they sent a $2,100 estimate to replace the circulator and fix the valve. Thankfully, I decided to call another plumber. Within 20 minutes, the frozen pipe was fixed with much cheaper. I was told there was absolutely nothing wrong with the circulator or the valve. The dripping valve? Tightened in a few second. I paid $300 for guesswork, delay, and unnecessary upselling during an emergency situation. This felt like an attempt to take advantage of a homeowner in distress. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to think twice.

Having not ever run a paint sprayer before, I decided to rent one to redo a basement with Latex paint on the walls. Calling three or four days ahead allows you to reserve it by putting down a credit card. Seems easy right? That is until you meet the staff at this particular location. Not a lot of personality nor an ounce of customer service. No greetings, no anything. I mean its situated in Wellesley (no offense) but its a rental place for crying out loud. Regardless, the rental seems smooth (except for the $150 deposit you have to put down to rent one of these things) and then I get home to use it and the thing does not want to work with the thickness of the paint. Diluting it does not work either so it basically fails. I return it one day early only to be beaten up by I guess the owner who looked like he was either having a bad day or hates working at a Taylor Rental, because he would have never rented this to me, had he knew I was using it for a basement. The guy not only started going off on me, he started going off on the guy helping me to return this. I told him to eat the deposit for the trouble and have a nice day. It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever seen and this is one of the worst rental places in the area. Tell you what, educate your customers on your equipment prior to renting and go learn some customer service! if you ever want to rent something, stick with the location in West Roxbury. At least you won't get treated poorly by some irate manager.
