Ended up replacing the motherboard, cpu, fan, and upgrading the ssd. Total new money $730 of which I think $180. Not sure if it is a fair/good/great deal? Updated what was allowed today but system is requiring me to activate windows for which I was not given a key. Awaiting response via online chat as computer is not functional as is.
