Tried this new boba/ice cream store last night. I have high hope on the boba since the pictures looked yummy. There are 5 specials boba drinks on the menu. We picked 2 - toffee and royal milk tea. The milk tea taste good however I don't like their boba. Boba is lack of favor/no sweet. Seems like very soft and not chewy. This is mostly due to overcook or the boba has been sitting there for too long before served. The drinks are pricy $6.95 and cup is small compared to other boba places. They also serve ice cream and smoothies. There is definitely room for improvement. The inside decor is super cute tho! read more

Decided to come back here and try their Taiyaki Ice Cream this time. The staff still had gloves and masks on. Plexiglass help separate the staff from the customers. They prefer card only at this moment (no cash). I decided to get the Angel Cone with a swirl of Dragonfruit and Mango. My Taiyaki had Nutella inside and I had sprinkles and pocky as my toppings. Overall, I don't really find it special. The fish waffle tasted kinda stale to me. I felt like they just made a huge batch in the morning and just re-heat versus having it near "made to order". The ice cream itself was alright. Dragonfruit is not for me and I really can't pinpoint how to describe it. Mango could taste a bit more mango like. The good thing was that at least it looked really pretty. Overall, I was not all too impressed. I had Taiyaki at other places and the waffle tasted way better. The ice cream was ok, just won't plan on getting dragonfruit next time. Not sure if or when I would come back, since I still don't like the smoothies being powder based or their milk tea drinks costing way too much for the amount you get. Drinks were god awful. I like their policy of 'if you dont like it, we don't remake or refund' really goes to show they are confident with their products. My boyfriend and I each got our own drink. Boyfriend got Vietnamese Coffee with Boba. Boba wasn't too bad but the coffee tasted like instant coffee made at a cheap motel with barely any condensed milk. I got the Blue Lagoon refresher which tasted like drinking straight syrup water. At least it was pretty :). Decor inside was nice though and the place was decently clean. You can take some nice instagram photos here and the drinks themselves looked very grammable too. Service was fine. There was a machine to order your drinks and the drinks were quick to come out. What a cute little spot! Stumbled upon this place after grabbing some happy hour drinks and apps around the area with some family. We noticed that it was a fairly new spot because it wasn't there before when I last visited the Veranda! First and foremost, you have a couple of options to choose from. You can either opt for their "soft serve" ice cream with egg puff or the fish shaped waffle, a milk tea/shake or just even a cone if you like! They have different flavors like ube, milk tea flavor, which is similar to a Hong Kong style milk tea, but it's a little sweeter here at this place, angel milk which I would best describe as a sweet milk, dragon fruit and mango. They also have flavor combo for some of the flavors so a lot of options! My boyfriend and I chose to get the "bubble waffle with milk tea ice cream and topped it with an Oreo and fruity pebbles, which you get for free(2 toppings)! Our order came out pretty quick, as the egg puffs were always premade. I was surprised to see it came with additional toppings such as bananas, strawberries and caramel syrup, which I suppose is already included into the bubble waffle option. OH! They also let you sample some of the flavors before choosing one. When our order came out, it was a pretty big portion, given we paid a total of $12 for the ice cream and egg puff. The inside decor also has cute little spots to take cute photos with your drinks/ice cream! The reason I'm giving this place a 3 star is because the egg puff weren't as good as we hoped it would be. I personally like them fresh but this place wasn't fresh. It was kinda hard and almost rubberish, I tried one piece of it and didn't even finish it. Even though the milk tea flavor was good when we first tried it, it started to become overwhelming, it's a really sweet milk tea flavor, so if you have a big sweet tooth then I would recommend it, if not, maybe try it before deciding on it! One WORD: GARBAGE! I don't know if they changed owners or what! The menu looked different since the last time I been here, even down to their cups. It looked like they went the cheap route! We ordered the Vietnamese coffee and all I taste was MILK! What happened to the "black sugar" in it???? I had to requested them to redo our entire order, instead they made it even worse.. more so like water down coffee! All they did was added cream and coffee, with a splash of condensed milk. I was hoping this place would bring more dessert options to the Veranda, but it seems this place is more focused on being trendy and Instagrammable more than anything else. The "ice cream" had no creaminess whatsoever, and the flavors were purely artificial in a bad way. Maybe it was the mix they used, but I was certainly disappointed. I ordered the black sugar toffee-ccino but all it tasted like was coffee with lots of milk and boba, again no flavor. I was looking forward to a crunchy toffee topping based on the menu picture, but no luck. My kids' drinks tasted better (matcha berry and taro peach), but nothing special. I'm not a fan of their milk teas. To me, it was watered down. I've tried their milk teas a couple of times hoping it would get better. I do however like the ice cream. They change up the flavors ever so often. So far, I tried the ube milk tea swirl, ube pistachio swirl, cookies and cream and Cookie Monster. I either get it with or without boba. You also get 1 free topping with it. Before I think it was 2 free, but now it's 1 free topping. read more

Let me just say, this place is really good. I love their drinks, their ice cream is good (but melts like crazy so eat it fast!) But I can't get them 5 stars because their taiyaki isn't the best. And my friends have had incidents where they ask if they're able to order just the taiyaki with filling and no ice cream, and one day they say they don't do that in a rude tone, a week later they say they're able to, then the next week they're unable to again? It's just a little confusing. I honestly think they should have the option to order just the taiyaki because not everyone is going to want just the ice cream. Also, if you're going here, try not to get too addicted because they're extremely pricey for boba. But definitely worth it if you're willing to spend money. read more

The service is always super friendly and extremely fast. This time around I got the Devil's Cone(Red waffle cone) with a matcha chocolate swirl and an Oreo on top! If you plan to get ice cream like i did, just be aware that the flavors rotate (Not sure how often)! I think overall it's good for what it is, but if they have ube or matcha in the rotation don't expect it to have a super strong or authentic taste. Otherwise, you really get your money's worth here for the ice cream, the portions are pretty big compared to other taiyaki places! Boba wise, I've only had a few times before but can say that it won't be for everyone. Their fresh milk selection is topped off with honeycomb which i LOVE but can be too sweet for some. New ice cream and boba shop at the Veranda. They have a variety of drinks and soft serve ice cream. The decor is really nice and the place looks very clean and unique. I still have mixed feelings about this place. I feel like there is something that just doesn't scream I want to come back here all the time. It is more like once in awhile kinda of thing. The soft serve is good and I would come back for that. I also tried the matcha and raspberry drink and it was just a bit bland. It needs to be a little bit more creamy and sweet. I always ask for less ice otherwise they fill up the cup with it. It is $6.95 per drink which is a bit on the pricy side considering there are so many other boba shops in the area. Cute place. Like the ice cream light fixtures. The cups are cute and the shape looks nice. The boba wasn't the most flavorful or sweet but the drinks were plenty sweet. I got the matcha milk tea in the hopes that the matcha would help with the sweetness and compared to the black sugar milk tea, it was a lot better and less sweet. We came at a less busy time so it was not too bad of a wait to order but it seemed to take a while for our drinks to be made. Overall, it's nice to have the option in the plaza of either getting tea, waffles, or soft serve. There are a couple of seats outside but it would be nice to have more seating since when we went, indoor seating was not an option. I've been waiting for this place to open since that one day months back during peak lockdown, and I decided to take a walk around in an empty Veranda and came across an opening soon sign on the door. Devil & Angel Ice Cream & Milk Tea is yet another ice cream, and milk tea, place crammed into an area that has plenty of it, though, fairly more special as located in the Veranda. The decor of the place is nicely done, very clean design, but also brings in a bit of fun into the atmosphere. When you walk into the place, to the right of the door is where you pick up your drinks, and if you go straight forward there's where you order, so if you see people lined up at the front of the entrance inside, but not at the front, that just means they're waiting for their drinks. Staff was friendly, no particular issues, and they are pretty well staffed, and everyone appears to be following masks rules properly. Timing was good, didn't take terribly long as their ice cream side and their milk tea side seems to be separate, so one side is mainly responsible for the ice cream, and the other is mainly responsible for the ice cream. Menu is fairly sized, with most of the boba drinks being black sugar/brown sugar styled drinks, so they come in the mini cups that many places serve them in. They also offer smoothie drinks, which comes with boba. I'm going to get to the price later, as I feel it's important to do that later, which will make sense once we get there. I ordered the black sugar fresh milk drink. As mentioned before, all of their milk tea drinks will come in the small size cups, so if you want something a bit heftier, you will have to upgrade to the smoothies at this place. The drink itself was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. The flavors were all on, they also have the fresh brown sugar that's floating at the top of the cup, and the boba was pretty good too. For a black sugar/brown sugar type drink, it was comparable, so no particular complaints. But again, the cup is a smaller size, so for boba drinkers with a heavier craving for boba, just be aware one may not be enough to quench your thirst. Final verdict: There's nothing particularly wrong with the drink, or the place, but it is very pricey considering what you're getting, and seeing how it's wedged into an area that if you fall out of your bed you'd land inside another boba place, it's kind of hard for me to just come here exclusively for the boba. If I'm paying $7 before tax for a cup of boba, it'd need to be incredible, or a good bang for my buck, and this is neither, but is good, just not that good. It is important to note that it is in The Veranda, and everything in there for the most part food wise is kind of pricey anyways, so it's not terrible for the specific shopping center it is located in. I would definitely come here in the future for their ice cream (which is also a bit pricey), instead of having the only option being Popbar if I wanted a cold treat, as price wise, it's probably comparable. The Veranda has also set up a lot more tables outside than it had before, not just in front of the shops, but in the general empty areas before, so if you want a place to sit down afterwards too after you grab a drink, this place will have them available. There's even misting tubes now which feels pretty great with the recent heatwaves we've been getting. Good to always have a wider variety to choose from. I like Devil & Angel Ice Cream & Milk Tea, but I'm not sure I like it enough to go there specifically if I'm craving ice cream or milk tea because of how many options there are outside of the shopping center. read more

Had a sudden urge for Boba, and this was the closest place. Walking in this place, I loved the open concept, open, airy place. They have very instagramable walls and their menu is nice too. I've been here twice, the first time I got the ice cream with fish cone. It was on point, I really enjoyed the ice cream and fish cone. It's nice you can customize it in so many different ways. I really, really enjoyed it. Sadly, the second time I came I was majorly craving boba so I decided to order royal milk tea with boba with the least amount of sweetness. Big mistake, the boba was too soft and minimally chewy. It also had a hint of floral flavors which I did not enjoy. The tea it self wasn't good either. Sadly, I had to throw away my drink which I rarely do for boba. Never will I get their boba drinks again, but I may consider coming back for their ice cream. read more

Brought my friend here from out of town for their first time tonight with her family, I've been here many times in the past with my family and loved it. Tonight was very different... There was more than enough employees to have people behind the counter and someone tidying up out front but I guess not something they have to do When we asked an employee if we could please have our 2 tables wiped down that we had sat down at, she walks up and assumes all of the garbage on the tables is ours and says, " Is this all of your trash? " We told her everything was already there when we sat down... she goes to throw it away and comes back and wipes both of our tables and says, " There is that good enough for you? " I was shocked... we said thank you and she walked away leaving all of the other tables a mess still, we finished up and left. Probably won't be back unless there is an older crew working.. I walked in and staff was sitting on the floor behind the register. They were also eating and then handling food/drinks. Staff had chips and drinks on the same table as the cash register. I personally did not eat my snacks after seeing all of this but I hope service improves because it seems like people really like this place in the veranda ! I dont usually like leaving a bad review because things happen but the service I had on August 12 at 5:20 pm was HORRIBLE. Id like to explain. At 5 pm the door sign said "closed" but when my partner tried the door it was open and the employees were just standing and said "oh who changed the sign" Ive worked in food service enough to know that wasn't an accident. The boba drink we got tasted so bitter we couldn't finish. The place looked a mess. Table not wiped, floor not cleaned. And one employee was just dancing instead of asking us if we have any questions. I wouldn't be upset if she was having a bad day but cmon it looks like you guys are having fun. Thats great but so unprofessional. Theres a time and place for that. Manager was apparently not there. The soft serve was good but other than that whole experience was horrible for me and my partner. Everytime I visit Concord, I definitely think about coming to this place in the Veranda here and then. However, I feel like every time I do-- it's certainly a different experience. My usual order here is the Black Sugar Fresh Milk! A solid drink that does the job. Sometimes I feel like there's more sugar than needed, and sometimes it's just right. I guess it depends on whose working. Waiting time wise, like another yelper has said before, it is really fast. I had just paid and already my Angel Cones + Drink were already done. My Angel Cone was the Ube soft serve, and the ice cream was great. Especially the Taiyaki! But it's not Somi Somi where you can order them separately sadly. The only thing I would want to point out is the customer service. It feels like a hit or miss every visit. Some days they'd seem friendly, other times the rest aren't. read more

To be honest, I was hesitant to give Devil & Angel a try; however, my friend insisted that their drinks and desserts were amazing. I finally tried them out recently and have to admit their boba wasn't too bad! I ordered their Black Sugar Matcha-Berry and it was sweet and refreshing, although I wish it had a stronger matcha flavor. On the flipside, the boba had a nice texture and was perfectly chewy. The store was fairly clean and had fun décor, perfect for those IG shots. Staff was friendly and drinks came out in a timely manner. Definitely team soft serve over boba for this particular dessert spot. First time here and had my mind set on a drink, but figured I could share the soft serve and I'm so glad I did! Their soft serve actually held up and didn't melt quickly. It was a lot thicker than most and comes with one free topping. I'm intrigued to try the other flavors offered. The Thai milk tea is what lacked for me. It was more watery than actual any tea taste. The boba was cooked well with a soft chewy middle. Parking here is always tough in this plaza and if you try to come on a weekend may the odds be in your favor. Great little spot in the cutest shopping center located in concord! Line can get really long but it moves quickly. Lots of spots to sit inside and outside! They only take card and are a little pricey for boba. I tried the Vietnamese iced coffee brown sugar boba drink which was good and super strong. My family and I were looking for dessert after eating hotpot for lunch. We stumbled across this place and there was a long almost out the door! This was also during the height of squid game so they were also offering the dalgona sugar. The cool part was that if you were able to successfully complete and take out the shape without breaking any part of it then you get a mini soft serve cone. I was looking through the menu and there were a bunch of options when I finally opted for the matcha on a devil cone(charcoal infused waffle cone). Surprisingly, the soft serve was creamy and soft, very similar to Uji time. They also had taiyakis and soft serve with several different fillings to choose from. I added fruity pebbles to my cone and it elevated the entire thing. The matcha had a lot of matcha flavor and it wasn't too overwhelming. I love this place. The decor is very fun and attractive and so are the milk teas and ice cream treats. The staff is friendly and they always seem to get my order just right. The black sugar peach taro milk tea is a must. Unique flavor combination that works so well. It is sweet but obviously anything with sugar in the name you'd expect that.
