Dubai chocolate covered strawberries (recommended) and mixed tanghulu stick (not as fresh)
    Connie C.

The tanghulu was good, but not as good as I've had in Asia. The sugar and/or fruit didn't taste very fresh. Not sure what it was, maybe the stick was just hanging out for a while. As you can see in the photo there was some strawberry juice running down the stick. I will say it was my friend's first time trying these, and she said she really liked it. However I loved the other thing we had, which was the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries! I enjoyed these way better. The pistachio sauce was there, but it was overpowered by the chocolate sauce so I didn't really taste it. I like pistachio so I would have liked more balance in the flavors. I love the kadayif, the crunchy straw-like topping. My friend asked what this was, and I couldn't tell her, but upon doing some research it's finely shredded dough. I really enjoy the crunchy texture that it brings. Plenty of strawberries in the cup. This is probably my favorite type of dessert-fresh fruit with a little something extra! Located in Veranda shopping center, there is plenty of parking and lots of outdoor seating and shopping a few steps away.

I've only been here twice but I LOVE the strawberry shaved ice with fresh fruit and condensed milk. The place is slightly small when large groups come in and the large white table makes it hard for seating but other than that the employees are kind and the store is kept fairly clean.

I love going to The Veranda, I noticed this place opened a while ago and ordered myself the Dubai strawberry cup. I went there during a crazy rush but the service was surprisingly fast. Food was really good and there was a lot of room to sit and take pictures if you're into aesthetics.

My niece wanted to stop my Devil and Angel after we had dinner at a nearby restaurant. I never been here before so I was excited to see what desserts they offered. We walked in and immediately there's a long line, but the line does move fast thankfully and I knew this place had to be good. While waiting in line the inside is a cute pink with neon designed lights it's too cute there is ample tables for sitting and enjoying your sweets treats. They serve boba, Tanghulu, Dubai chocolate strawberries and so much more. My diabetes was in sugar shock okay lol. My niece ordered the Dubai chocolate strawberries and all strawberries Tanghulu. I ended up ordering the just the all strawberry Tanghulu with that had a grape at the end lol. I really wanted to try the Dubai chocolate strawberries but probably wasn't a good idea. Next time I am in Concord I will try other dessert options the desserts are delicious and reasonably priced.

I've visited this location a handful of times and was never super impressed by the desserts I've gotten and multiple visits I've had my order wrong. On my last visit, I asked for a soft serve with vanilla ice cream with oreos. When I said my order, she asked what flavor and I didn't understand why, but I said plain froyo again and got handed chocolate froyo once I finished paying. I was already confused enough when trying to order in the first place and didn't mind chocolate so I took it. Just a funny experience and hope service can be better during future visits.

Viral Dessert Worth the Hype--Almost Perfect! We just stopped in at Devils & Angels to try the viral Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and let me tell you--I had no expectations, but it totally blew me away! We started with the mixed fruit sugar-coated skewer (strawberries, grapes, oranges)--a fun throwback to Japan. While the original can't be beat, this was a solid nostalgic hit and still really good. Then came the star of the show: the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup. Layers of fresh strawberries, rich chocolate, pistachio cream, chopped pistachios, and crispy kataifi made for an incredible bite. The creamy, crunchy texture combo was spot-on. Price tag? $17. A little steep, but nearly worth it. What could've made it a slam dunk would've been a cold element like a scoop of chocolate or pistachio ice cream to balance out the richness. As for the ambience, the interior is bright and modern--clean white decor accented with neon lights that pop for a trendy, IG-worthy vibe. That said, it was a bit stuffy inside--felt like the A/C wasn't working--so we took our treats outside to enjoy in the fresh air. If you're in the area and love trying unique viral treats, this one's a must. It's indulgent, it's different, and yes--it's pretty delicious.

The pictures of their desserts all looked so yummy so we stopped in for the Dubai chocolate strawberries and ended up with a tanghulu skewer as well. First off, I don't think what we got was worth the money. $7 for a fruit skewer with crunchy syrup, and about $18 for the Dubai chocolate strawberry cup. My kids enjoyed the tanghulu but it's really nothing special. They also only had one prepared and when we tried to order a different kind they said they didn't have any... The Subaru chocolate strawberry cup COULD have been so good but there were a few things I really did not like about it. 1. Everything was warm. The strawberries were warm, the chocolate and the pistachio cream were all warm. It tasted off. Next, the knafeh wasn't really crunchy, it was stale.

We ordered the Matcha/Strawberry Fruit Smoothie and it was delicious! Tasted like Princess cake, highly recommend! The indoor seating area is super cute and there is a photo booth that makes it all the more fun!

Drink was tasty but some kind of hard topping that wasn't very tasty and we couldn't make out what is was. Huge menu and things are pricey

We got the strawberry + cookies and cream swirl but it was lacking the cookies and cream. The choices are a lot fewer than the last time I went which was disappointing and it was hard to find a clean table with enough chairs for our group.

Previously, I've avoided going to Devil & Angel, even though it was the only place in the Veranda to get boba and ice cream (at the time). I think the location has improved greatly since first opening. The drinks are decent and they've added Tanghulu (candied fruit) to the menu. We now always come in for Tanghulu which comes in your choice of just strawberry, strawberry and grape, and mixed fruit. There was also a bit of remodeling, which makes the store look more clean and chic. Previously there was a wall of fake plants, which in theory looked nice, but it was filled with dust and wasn't cleaned out.

All of our drinks & the Dubai strawberry cup was super delicious and not too sweet. But I would have to say my favorite would be the Dubai Pistachio "cracking choco cup." Loved it & my daughter had fun cracking/squeezing all the chocolate. Personally, I would come back to buy the same thing or possibly try something different. Highly recommend it.

This is more so for Boba teas and not so much ice cream. The many options for Boba offer something for everyone! They even have the infamous Dubai chocolate strawberry treat. The ambiance is cute and definitely set up for a few selfies. We were lucky enough to go when it wasn't super crowded because usually the line is out the door. The server was really sweet and funny. We were serenaded while he made our order which made us chuckle. My milk tea tasted mostly like milk but the Ube ice cream was decent. Can't wait to try more off the menu in the future!

Do you use ceremonial grade matcha for your matcha based drinks? Also do you hand whisk your matcha?

I assume it's true because their cup sizing has changed which I'm sadly disappointed. It's more open space/spacious and I had to create a new rewards account. Drink menu names changed slightly on kiosk and on the wall. They don't have that tacky shelf with plush, stuff, Knick knacks, for sale anymore. Drink still good, I don't think recipe has changed. I heard, then seen it for myself, the instagram post and stories shared by friends, of people dancing and partying at the shop late nights after hours. Then when I went in, also still had the sign up that said they did dance concert or hosted DJ nights at the shop. But Im also assuming it was under the old management and they must've got caught something doing something illegal or something they weren't suppose to be doing. The minus one star is for the cup sizing. Bring it back! Main reason why I love coming here, a good price for big cup size. Now it's like every other boba shop. Which is fine, but I won't go out of my way to come get boba here like I used to.

Milk Tea Lab is now under new ownership at this location, and having been visiting this spot quite…read moreoften throughout that time I've become more than familiar with the quality and expectations of this place. This was my first time visiting them again since the ownership change so it's been a minute. What I see here now is just depressing, not just because the place was empty, but it's now devoid of anything that felt like a spot someone would want to hangout at. No music, when I got in there was one person waiting for their food and nobody was even at the front counter for minutes before somebody finally came out from the back. Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.

I purchased the Taiyaki cone (fish cone) filled with red bean paste, on top of Matcha and Ube soft serve. It was Delicious! It is such a good combo, both flavors are good by themselves but together with the cone and red bean paste was delectable. You can get the ice cream inside the cone but since I was driving and taking it to go- I wanted to avoid accidents.
