Don't be fooled! That crepe looked better than it tasted. Filled w/old fruits that sat unrefridgerated.

After linner (lunch&dinner) today, my hubby was so excited for a strawberry banana crepe but unfortunately, he was met with a rude and judgemental young female at the register. She looked at my husband with stank side eyes after he paid and included a tip that was not to her satisfaction. She definitely made my husband uncomfortable since he rather enjoy his dessert in the car. Honestly, she was RUDE. I remember when the tipping culture was much more unexpected and unnecessary especially when your were not dining in. If you order and picked up your own food then tipping was not expected. Tipping was rewarded for great dine-in service and great hospitality. While my husband and I follow the current trend of the tipping culture, we don't appreciate those who make us regret patroning here. As for the crepe, it was well presented in its box however, the fruits inside the crepe were old and not freshly cut or refrigerated properly. The strawberries tasted old like it was on the tip of fermenting into vinegar. The bananas were brown and very mushy. Too mushy even to make banana bread. I must say thank god they were skimpy on the fruit because the only thing that was good was the crepe and whip cream. It was our first and last visit here. We won't be returning. There are plenty of other great desserts and boba in the same plaza that will happily serve your delicious treats.

    Avocado shake with boba

I stopped by after having dinner next door to see what this spot was about. When you first walk in you'll notice the counter and menu are further into the establishment which is good incase there's ever a long line. Lucky for me there was only one other person when I went. After scanning the menu I decided on an avocado shake with boba. Their boba is really good! This was my first time trying an avocado shake and it was okay I probably wouldn't get it again. You can tell they keep up with the cleanliness everything is pristine! I believe it was the owner who took my order he let me take my time with the menu and was very efficient in taking and making my order. I definitely want to come by again and try something else

Time for a sweet break with friends. Good thing there were only 3 people ahead of us. Our orders were: Taro Milk Tea, large, 25% sugar, with boba, grass jelly and custard pudding. Avocado Smoothie, large, with boba. Taro Slush, large, with boba ans mango star jelly. Refreshing!

Was with my dad and he wanted to stop by Ranch 99 to grab something. I wanted something to drink so I found this place right nearby. Walking inside, it looked like they had places for tables and to hang at night for people. But because of Covid, all of it had to be removed. The staff wore masks and gloves. They have a pretty big menu on the side, ranging from milk teas, fruit teas, slushees, smoothies and milkshakes. They also had crepes and macaroons as well to order. I was recently on a tea binge, so I wanted to shake it up for this order. The lady at the counter today was very nice. I asked her how the milkshakes are made and she explained to me that they use Vanilla Ice Cream, milk and syrup. I decided to give it a try and got a Strawberry Banana Milkshake, Large size. Apparently some toppings are free, so I decided to get boba with it. It came out to be $5.50, which is a fair price. The drink itself wasn't anything memorable if I have to be honest. It tasted like how she described it to me. It was alright, albeit a bit expensive to what I really wanted to pay. The pearls were just okay and not the absolute best. But you can't beat free toppings. Overall, the place was alright. I might try their fruit teas or milk teas if I come back.

The best spot for Bobas. Various choices which is a huge plus. Service is quick & courteous. The location and place is great. I have been there a few times with different boba fans & they were impressed. If you like bobas you need to visit this spot.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic I came here so many times when there was a Frys Electronic. I remember when the board games were out for customer to play while waiting for their drinks. People can have social group meetings and have fun. What happen to those good ol memories? The boba drinks are amazing. The flavor of the drink does taste like the fruit. This place has great deserts!

I was running errands nearby and decided to stop by Bobaloca for a little liquid treat. Bobaloca is located in a rather large shopping center with plenty of parking and shopping nearby. Their space is large but not enough seating, I figured this is due to the pandemic/covid. The staff greeted me right away and were friendly. The space is clean, and they have lots of options on their menu. I decided to go with Milk Tea Boba, which is a basic choice but it was pretty good. I'd like to consider myself a boba snob (just slightly lol)...I know a good boba when I try it. Bobalocas boba was pretty good, definitely not the best I've had but it was good and I don't have any complaints. I'd definitely come back to Bobaloca to try some of their other flavors in the future and will report back.

My first stop on my 7 Days of Boba tour, is Bobaloca. Located in the Willow Pass Park and Shop, on the 99 Ranch side of the shopping center, it can be found right next to Steamboat. Of course, in this part of Concord downtown, it's literally surrounded with boba places right around the corner, so there's no shortage of them in this area. A preface to this visit, Bobaloca has been in this shopping center for many years now, and I had visited here many, many years ago when they first opened, and thought it was okay, and after a couple of more visits had never come back since. It's been about 5-6 years (rough estimate) since I've been back, and from the rumors here and there throughout the years, have certainly switch owners more than once. So this Bobaloca was not going to be the same as the one I had frequented years ago. With the current conditions, no outdoor seating, and no indoor seating, but the inside is quite spacious, and can have tons of people in line if it ever gets real busy. There was one employee working behind the counter, and he was sufficient with taking orders, and efficient with making the orders, so no complaints there. Pricing wise, it's comparable to most of the boba places around, but can be considered on the cheaper side since one of the perks is that they don't charge extra for the first serving of boba here. A good sized menu of drinks, so there's plenty of selection to choose from, and they have some specials too. Food wise, they do have some options available, but mainly the dessert side with crepes, and other sweets options. Now for the drink. The drink was actually pretty good, I ordered the classic milk tea, but it didn't taste like a classic milk tea in any form. While I actually kind of liked the flavors of it, I can't tell if it was intentional, or if it's an issue with the storage containers, or what's the cause for the misfit flavors of coffee in the drink. Again, didn't taste bad, but just not really a "classic milk tea" when it comes down to it. For some reason it just really hit the spot today though, so no particular complaints there. Boba was nice, a bit more on the harder side than the QQ side, but I'm okay with that since I like my boba chewier anyways. But if you're more of a fan of the softer QQ texture and not as hard, this may not be for you. All-in-all, better than I thought it would be considering reading some of the reviews through the years ever since I've been back here, but certainly exceeded expectations. Will be back to try some of the fruit flavor teas, but if those start to taste like coffee too, we may have a problem then. Well priced, and of course, no extra charge for the first boba topping.

    Pearl drink time!

This is a cute little pearl drink shop hidden inside of the shopping full of eateries and shopping. The pearls are really fresh. I also like the ability to add flavors to the fusion teas. They have a big selections of drinks too. There are milk teas, fusion teas (tea with flavors), slushies, milkshakes, and coffee type beverages. They have a nice selection of macaroons behind the counter. You can also order shaved ice too. The establishment was clean and had boardgames set up on a few of the tables for customer's to play.

I adore the motivation words on the cover.

Let me start by saying I absolutely adore this place. I found this place on yelp and sent my…read moreboyfriend to pick up smoothies one morning on a whim. The first time got us hooked. The morning ritual is the best smoothie I've ever had. It's hard to balance health and flavor, but this was both healthy and incredible. They list the ingredients used in each smoothie, so you know all of what they contain. You can even add different boosters such as mass muscle, etc. It's located inside of a gym, to the right side of it. Don't be thrown off, you don't need a membership to enjoy the fantastic smoothies. The workers have been really sweet each time we've visited, and when we ordered via Uber it was ready upon arrival. One of the only drawbacks is how expensive it is. I also really wish that they listed their nutrition facts online. For such a health oriented company it's shocking that they don't, and especially a company of decent size. The smoothies contain dates, nuts, etc. So although they are good ingredients they can be high in fats, so it's important to know. Our smoothie also has coffee as well which we enjoy, but knowing the caffeine content would be appreciated. My last order also had huge white frozen balls that were unblended in it which was odd, I'm not quite sure what they were. If the price was lower, we would come here much more often. It is a great way to start your morning, and makes you feel fantastic afterwards.

My husband arrived around 8:10 AM, after the store's posted opening time of 8:00 AM, only to find the business completely closed with no communication whatsoever. No call. No email. No cancellation notice. Nothing. What followed was somehow worse. I called the store multiple times throughout the day and left several voicemails that were never returned. I also emailed both the location and corporate customer service and received no response. Corporate didn't answer their phones either. All of this over a $35 order that the business happily charged for but never fulfilled. Today, I went into the store in person to ask for a refund and was met with attitude and defensiveness from the manager instead of accountability or even a simple apology. I was told they "do answer their phones" despite my multiple unanswered calls and voicemails. I was then told they could not issue a refund because it had been "more than two days," even though the delay was entirely caused by their complete lack of response and failure to handle the issue. The store being unexpectedly closed is frustrating enough. Ignoring customers afterward and then treating them poorly when they ask for their money back is unacceptable. I'm still waiting to hear from the "other manager" or "boss" who is supposedly able to process my refund. Who apparently already had my information but was "too busy" to respond to me sooner. Give me a break. At this point, it's not even about the $35. It's about the complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer service.

I assume it's true because their cup sizing has changed which I'm sadly disappointed. It's more open space/spacious and I had to create a new rewards account. Drink menu names changed slightly on kiosk and on the wall. They don't have that tacky shelf with plush, stuff, Knick knacks, for sale anymore. Drink still good, I don't think recipe has changed. I heard, then seen it for myself, the instagram post and stories shared by friends, of people dancing and partying at the shop late nights after hours. Then when I went in, also still had the sign up that said they did dance concert or hosted DJ nights at the shop. But Im also assuming it was under the old management and they must've got caught something doing something illegal or something they weren't suppose to be doing. The minus one star is for the cup sizing. Bring it back! Main reason why I love coming here, a good price for big cup size. Now it's like every other boba shop. Which is fine, but I won't go out of my way to come get boba here like I used to.

This was my first time visiting them again since the ownership change so it's been a minute. What I see here now is just depressing, not just because the place was empty, but it's now devoid of anything that felt like a spot someone would want to hangout at. No music, when I got in there was one person waiting for their food and nobody was even at the front counter for minutes before somebody finally came out from the back. Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.
