This place has unbelievable coffee! I had the sparkling cascara on tap and it was the best coffee I've had! I usually get the sparkling citrus espresso at the reserve in Seattle but the is one was so much better! I can't even begin with the aroma of the coffee. No bitter aftertaste and it almost doesn't even taste like coffee! It's a hint of Smokey flavor and honestly the perfect cup of coffee. Indoor seating is spacious but limited with beautiful green scenery and a beautiful skylight that makes you feel like you're in a greenhouse. You can see everyone working and packaging the coffee. It's an amazing experience. 10/10 recommend of coffee enthusiasts read more

Beautiful cafe!! Many people come to work or read! There's a beautiful sunroof as well. I got the aromatica teas, and they were pretty good. I recommend the pear, wild berry, peach, sweet lemongrass aromatica. Very refreshing. There is one bathroom for the whole store, so there tends to be a wait at times. read more

This was a very fun coffeeshop. They have a beautiful interior and I love seeing their beans and machinery inside. They were super busy on a Saturday afternoon in a wintry cold day. We got a delicious latte, which was creamy and smooth. It took a while to get our order but it was extremely busy. Covid wise, I was a little anxious by how many people were eating inside. Multiple people were working on laptops, not actively eating/drinking but didn't have masks on. They had some seating outdoors though, and we had a fine experience doing grab n go. read more

Favorite coffee shop. Ever. After visiting the original location in Colombia, I knew I had to visit the Williamsburg location. Devocion is perfection. The coffee, the ambience... everything a coffee shop should be and more. It was a bit sad seeing no indoor seating after being able to sit here and chat with friends pre-COVID, but the outdoor seating was lovely and there was a good number of people even though it was pretty cold outside. If you're in the area, take a few minutes to stop by. If you're not in the area, make a day out of it and get brunch, take a walk in the park, but make time for a perfect cup of coffee. read more

I got the Red Barrel Pour Over here. Unfortunately the coffee ended up being really sour and it was pretty lukewarm by the time I got a chance to drink it. My guess is that the barista just didn't use hot enough water. I might get some beans from here in the future but doubt I'd order anything to drink again. read more

Came here on a Tuesday (Sept. 27) morning to get a break from WFH and for a change of pace. It's an absolute gem of a place. I would recommend arriving around the opening time because it does fill up fairly quickly, especially if you're looking to sit at a table with your laptop or writing utensils. There's also a couch in the middle of the room as well as seating outside of the premise. The wood/browns, greenery and yellow umbrellas all compliment each other. I would like to think the addition of the blue glass Saratoga Sparkling Water for sale is intentional with the color palette. *takes off interior designer hat* I don't drink coffee so I had sparkling water with a moist banana bread. A small piece but I reckon they can't offer up the entire pan. I should note I didn't see any outlets but it could be I wasn't looking. My laptop was fully charged read more

Coffee literally doesn't get better than this. Cannot go wrong with anything from Devoción, drinks or food. Obsessed with the cozy decor of this location and the living wall, and love that you walk past their roasting facilities. A bit pricey but absolutely worth it every time I treat myself to a latte. read more

A really beautiful coffee shop. We arrived around 9am, it was nice to see families with small kids in the area. Around 10-10:30 is when it began to fill up even more. Staff were welcoming, service was fast. I ordered a oat milk latte, they do not have flavored sweeteners here. Just natural options...honey and stevia. Coffee did it's job and we had a great time catching up with an old college friend. read more

This is one cool spot and the coffee is bomb. There's an entire area in the front of the store dedicated to roasting coffee, and you can tell that they're serious because people are monitoring things on their computers. I do wish they supplied you with your own coffee top rather than leaving it out for people to get themselves, but they do leave hand sanitizer everywhere and it's an incentive to get people to adhere to the appropriate flow of traffic, so I guess that's the trade off. read more

When do they decide to bring out/bake the guava croissants? I know it's a Sun. afternoon and they've been crazy busy all day I'm sure, but they just need to bake more and kind of always have them, especially on the weekends. This place should understand that yes, their coffee is good, but no one (that I know of) in all the rest of NYC has that guava croissant. Get with it and understand that this croissant is what makes you actually special in this city. read more

First time here and I absolutely loved it! The place is down a few blocks from domino park. It's such a nice coffee spot, went on a Sunday around noon and it was packed inside and there was a short line but it went by fast. Customer service was on point. I ordered the hot latte. They don't have any syrups they add in coffee. The coffee was delicious. They had some honey and a simple syrup bottle that you can add. I added a little of the simple syrup and coffee was delicious. Best coffee spot I have found. read more

These people are stuck up about their coffee, but it makes sense why. The coffee is amazingly fresh, just like they advertise. The guava croissant was crispy and had delicious guava paste inside. The atmosphere is delightful with high ceilings and natural light. The only downside is the baristas are not the friendliest. We tried to order like it was a Starbucks, but they don't have all of the mixins like vanilla or hazelnut that would overpower the flavor of their delicious coffee. They looked at us like we were dumb when we tried to order that. Definitely worth coming back for this coffee though, and we'll know better how to order next time! read more

Came here on a Sunday around noon and there was a long line almost out the door. Fortunately, it moves quick and service is fast. Good luck getting seating here because it is crowded but I get it, it's super pretty inside. I got mint tea which was fine and a croissant which was mediocre. My date liked his coffee and I would probably go back to try that since the whole operation looks cool & Columbian coffee is usually top notch. We ended up sitting outside on their covered street parking which had a few empty seats. There is also only 1 bathroom so you'll probably have to wait on a line if you need that too. read more

Super cute coffee shop with a good amount of space and pretty inside! They have plenty of seating but feel like they probably could have utilized the space a little better. We came on a saturday evening and had to stand around to wait for a spot to open up. They've got a good mix of couches/benches and tables! I really liked the coffee! They don't have flavored syrups (like vanilla) if that's your thing. I also didn't get to try any of their baked goods. The staff was very nice and I can imagine the ceiling window being really nice in the day time! Overall, would definitely return - it also seems like a great spot to work from although I didn't check how many outlets they have/how accessible they were. Guys, the coffee is great, pastries great, I had been coming here for years and years. This is solely on my experience today, I won't be coming back, due to lack of care and heartlessness we experienced this morning 2/19/24. My 17 yo teenage niece had a massive double nosebleed in the middle of our coffees and in order not to get blood all over the floor we went straight to the bathroom to try to stop it. I'm talking gushing blood EVERYWHERE like I've never seen and when we were trying to deal with it to stop the bleeding the staff kept banging on the door trying to get us to leave after only 5 minutes even when we explained we were trying to just get the bleeding to stop first. I get that no one is dying but can you have a heart at least? We also didn't leave the bloody mess and took time to clean up the sink and everything around it that got blood splattered, asking the staff member to sanitize after. We were still in the bathroom when he came in. I understand there was a line of people waiting to use the bathroom (who we explained the situation to), but there also was a "staff only bathroom" right next to the single public one that they could've just opened up instead of forcing us out. I get its business as usual, but consider if this was your kid niece and you needed help and some understanding. She felt really bad and embarrassed already enough. There was one nice girl who helped us bringing more napkins and understood the situation, but I think she was another customer. We promptly left and I took my niece back to my home in an uber but I'm obviously upset over the experience. It's her last day visiting in NY. This neighborhood was once my neighborhood for over a decade and I hope this isn't the vibe now, too cool to care. Really disappointed with this experience and the attitude of some of employees I encountered this morning. read more

Came here with my girlfriend for a caffeine refill before dinner. This Devocion cafe location was very big, and loved the glass ceiling that let lots of sunlight in. It is a great spot if you need to wait or have some time to kill or have to work. Drinks: I went with the ice Latte with oat milk (approximately $6.00). It was good and exactly what I need to stay awake! Overall: I was not able to get to the wifi, but I am pretty sure it works even though its a weekend. read more

Devoción has my utter devotion. This hip coffee shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY is (arguably) a NYC staple. With coffee beans sourced from Colombia and roasted in Brooklyn, their coffee is always fresh and hits the spot. They sell bags of their own coffee, too. Their pastries and bakery items, such as the uniquely flavored guava croissant, are equally delicious. Now, if you're more of a Starbucks or Dunkin' coffee kind of drinker, while they do offer a few syrups and sugars, they don't offer a ton of sweet flavorings. So this might not be the spot for you. It's a large, open, and typically pretty quiet spot. An ideal place to read or get some work done. While they do have an ample amount of seating, it still can get pretty busy. So if you're looking to sit down, I'd recommend getting there early or at a less busy time of the day. Overall, it definitely lives up to the hype for me! Hot tip: Take a walk to the nearby Domino Park for some breathtaking views! read more

Was so excited to try this coffeeshop but was absolutely shocked with how the cashier treated my friend. We stopped by on Wednesday afternoon, and my friend was waiting to pick up her drink when they mistakenly put the wrong one in front of her. The cashier approached my friend and instead of kindly correcting their mistake, she SCOLDED her, and even said something along the lines of "do you even know what a cortado looks like?". The whole experience shocked me. It was so rude and appalling, felt like this place is just trying to be pretentious. Would not recommend. read more

This may have been one of my favorite coffee spots that I tried in my NYC vacation. Y'all know how I feel about a latte and a cafe ambiance. This place was giving Seattle vibes, lowkey (in the best way). It was really homey and warm. We came on a Sunday morning and the place was THEE spot to be. Everyone and their dog was getting a cup of coffee. Lucky we were able to grab a table. I kept it simple - oat milk latte and a guava croissant. My bestie got an iced oat milk latte and a chocolate croissant. The pastries popped off! Super flakey and delicious even though they weren't heated. They have simple syrup in the back, so we splashed some in our coffees. The roast was super smooth and rich. Located in Williamsburg. I recommend taking the short walk across the street to the waterfront and catching some views. Indoor seating available. read more

Lots of seating but it was also quite busy on a Saturday afternoon so you have to fight for seating here. I got the "El Caiman" (tasting notes: apricot, mountain papaya, cacao, and honey) pour over today which was the limited edition offering. It's $7.25 for 12 oz. but the coffee was strong with lots of juicy, fruity and cocoa notes. I highly recommend it if they have it as it made a positive impression on me. Good vibes with lots of plants. Next time, I'll try an espresso based drink and cop a bag of beans because I hear they're pretty great! read more

The best coffee I think I've ever had. I drink illy espresso everyday which I consider pretty high quality. This blows it out of the water. The coffee is so fresh, with strong notes of chocolate, florals, and no acidity. The line was really long on the weekend but it does move pretty quickly. The interior has a 10ft tall living plant wall and spacious seating, though it can be hard to find a spot when it's busy. Overall great spot for working or studying. read more

The ambiance in Devocion is lovely, cozy and relaxed but it's super crowded in the weekend. The wait for a table is pretty bad. We had Toro which is simply regular hot coffee, it tasted smooth, no artificial flavor but lightly sour. There was limited choice of milk at self serving bar and they run out of special milk during our visit at 2:30 pm on Sunday. Overall, their coffee wasn't my type but we might try their espresso option next time if we stop by Williamsburg. read more

Always has the freshest coffee we can find in the city! Whenever I go the place is pretty crowded and the line does take a while. My friends love the guava and cheese croissant here, but you need to go relatively early in the day if you want to have a chance of being able to buy one. read more

Yep, this place is beautiful. So much natural light and plants around that everyone is pretty much heart eye emojis when they walk in. Most coffees and baked goods are $5 to my memory. I had the guava and cheese croissant which was yummy and pretty. If you do come and work or hang here, just know that it can get pretty busy! read more

The place was quite big, well lit and has a fantastic atmosphere as you can see in the pictures. Please note there's no wifi on weekends. The coffee was good, but nothing that stood out to me. The best part of this location is of course the great ambiance. There is a large skylight and the back wall is greenscaped. There are ample tables to sit and eat or get some work done. There is a pretty wide menu, however when we went on a Saturday by late morning they were out of many of the drink options. The coffee is overall ok, but the prices were really high even by Brooklyn standards. What is the equivalent of a small size iced coffee/cold brew cost $6! read more

Upon walking inside, I noticed a long line. I asked myself if this was worth the wait... It definitely was! I was looking for a strong ice coffee and with so many places to choose from, I now know where I will be going for my coffee and pastries! I had the ice coffee with oat milk and it was nice and strong, not watered down like many places. I also had a Dulce de leche pastry and it was amazing! I would highly recommend this place! Even though this is somewhat of a chain, the quality is not lost and it's a delicious high quality latte! I came in on a Saturday morning and there was a small line but it moves pretty fast. I got an iced latte with pistachio milk and it was really complex and refreshing. Alternative milk is $1.50 extra though which is a bit pricier than I am used to paying. But honestly pretty worth it. The spaces in Devoción are always lovely for socializing or working and this one has a plant wall with lots of natural sunshine. There's only one bathroom which usually has a line and limited outlets. Overall really great place to get latte and even if you can't get a spot in the cafe, I recommend sitting by the water at Domino Park nearby to enjoy! read more

I found this place on TikTok and had to check it out! The indoor area was so cute with lots of greenery and natural light. I ordered a Guava Cheese Croissant and the classic Iced Latte with Oat Milk! I was skeptical about the Guava Cheese Croissant at first, but it was one of the best pastries I've ever had! It was the perfect amount of flaky and didn't feel like it was falling apart. The GUAVA CHEESE filling was incredible. It was pretty sweet given there was guava in it, but it was the perfect flavor for a summer day. Their Iced Oat Milk Latte is amazing. Although it was nothing special, you can tell the baristas are great at the art of brewing coffee. I definitely will have to come back. It is a bit more crowded and noisier, so if you're looking to get serious work done, this might not be the place for you. read more

They also have a location in the East Village! But guys, I found my dream cafe. This place is absolutely beautiful, the pastries are extremely flaky and buttery, and the coffee is STRONG. At this location, you can literally see them roasting the coffee beans and the coffee is just so good. I loved that they have tables, bar seats, AND couches so that you could have your FRIENDS moment. If youre in Williamsburg, this is a must try cafe! read more

This place has an ambience of its own. Vibrant with natural lighting, a wall of greenery, and restoration-hardware-style vintage furniture, there is just so much space to sit back and feel hip in. The couches are lovingly scuffled and upholstered with brass buttons and brown leather. The coffee itself is beautiful, as I expected. I've heard about this place through word of mouth -- locals and non-locals alike -- and it wasn't disappointing. The latte (which I got plain) was smooth without a hint of undue sourness or bitterness. Milk was frothed nicely and to a lovely temperature. Baristas are very nice and service is fast. I saw a lot of dates and creatives and designers hanging out here. Easy place to chill for hours I suppose, if I lived in the area. Love the location as well -- a nice part of Williamsburg, with lots to do in the surroundings (and of course lots of competing cafes nearby). But this one holds its own, and more. read more

Established in 2006.

Devoción was launched in 2006 to produce the freshest coffee imaginable -- roasting provides only half of coffee's flavor, while the mere freshness of the beans does the rest of the work. And yet, most coffee beans sit around for months, losing flavor every day. That's why the Devoción team does everything short of picking the cherry, and do it faster than anyone else -- we hand-select our 1,000+ farm partners, dry-mill at our Bogotá facility, control the export process, and freshly roast in Brooklyn. No. Only one the weekdays probably bc too many laptop users take up seating. It is already pretty bad on the weekdays. I sit there with my laptop but l limit myself a certain amount of time as to not be selfish. Hope this helps!

I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
