We found ourselves drawn to this little gem every morning because of the friendly & attentive staff and delicious & well prepared food. If you can get a table on the balcony overlooking the harbor, then your entire experience would be 5 star :) we had the corned beef hash with potatoes and perfect over easy eggs. We were in town visiting family for the weekend, and wanted breakfast. We met up here. Ended up eating here two days in a row it was so delicious. The first day my guy ordered the corned beef hash, and I had the ham, and bacon omelet. I am not exactly sure what goes into what he ordered, but he sure raved about it. My omelet was so good! It had a chipotle sauce drizzled on top, and also smoked Gouda inside, so talk about a flavor explosion in your mouth. I tried to order something else the next day, but the omelet was just calling my name. I also had an Italian soda each time. The first day I forgot to ask for no cream. It was mainly cream. The next day, was mainly soda. So that would be the miss here for me. The place has a spectacular view, especially if you get a seat near the window. The food comes out fairly fast. The service was great. There is a wait, but not terrible. Just expect it. It is worth showing up. read more

Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The wait was about 40 minutes but we were comfortable in the waiting area. Once we were seated, service was fast, friendly, and thorough. The server talked us into trying a seasonal menu that was ending that day and we are so glad we did! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! We ate here for the first time today. There was a 40 minute wait, which is expected at 10:30 Sunday morning. We ended up at a table outside on the street side. Service was really good. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and my boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. Both were delicious and worth the wait. Hands down the BEESSST biscuits and gravy I've ever had. The flavors are balanced so well and the biscuit was perfect too. Their breaks toast potatoes also hit the spot. My friend really enjoyed her sandwich it was definitely loaded up! We also go Irish coffees, mine with a brown sugar burnout and they were Great! The staff helped us decide on drinks; they don't have a drink menu but they're fully stocked! The service was very good as well. My husband and I used to be regulars here before we moved out of Gig Harbor. We were in town for errands and decided to come here for brunch. There was a large party in front of us and then a few couples behind us in the queue. We sat and waited, and waited, finally they called the larger party, then the couple that came in after us, then another couple, all while me and my husband have been sitting there waiting. At this point I'm saying if I don't ask, I'm going to leave. I go up to the lady and say, "did you forget about us?" No, she says, and walks away. Minutes go by and she says "there's a table in there for you, the open one" and points! when she's walked back every single other group. I don't know what I did to this lady! It's way too small in there and $15 potatoes, 2 eggs, and some toast. I'll never come back because of how I was treated. DO BETTER! read more

The views are incredible. The food is incredible and fresh. And the staff is great. Expect a high wait time, but grab a nice coffee to sip before you sit down. Worth it to sit outside on the patio if it's warm enough, otherwise for a faster service the bar is very comfortable. read more

My family was in town and we wanted to try this place based on recommendation from friends. It was a Sunday morning and this place was packed! It didn't help that we were a party of 7, lol. Either way we got seated in 45 minutes which isn't bad. Parking was a little tricky but if you circle you will find one for free. We were seated and had some waters for the table. We all ordered different things but I had the chicken salad sandwich with potato salad as my side. It was amazing!! Soooo good. The service was great and 9/10 in speed for how busy it was. The views are beautiful as you can sit and look at the water whilst enjoying your meal. I recommend this place but it does get a little loud since the building is smaller. read more

And I'm still trying to figure out where they found the fruit. It was so fresh. It reminded me of fresh raspberries and blueberries I've picked myself. Every time I've tried to visit, it's been full, so expect a wait. After eating here, I now know why there's a line. What a cute spot! We were seated in the heated tent and had a nice view of the lake and mountains. The food was out of this world. The Cinnabon melted in your mouth immediately and the stuff biscuit the best biscuit I've ever had. Even the chili was flavored perfectly and had the right amount of cheese. I put three stars for a reason and I'm sure others might feel that it's not fair given the restaurant 4.5 star rating. Let's start with service! Excellent server and she was very attentive so that gets a star. Location was on the water in Gig Harbor and although we wanted to sit on the water we got the next best thing which is a table inside facing the window so we got to see it. Not the same as outside seating but that's what was available. So that's another star and of course the overall ambiance and wait time was not bad so that's another star. Now the food is where I had some ethical issues in giving it stars. We ordered the Huevo Ranchero and the burrito. The burrito was ok but the Huevo Ranchero was something we always ordered back home so we were excited to see it on the menu. It stated "crispy tortillas" and "Yukon Potatos" what I got was two eggs on top of soft flour tortillas with potatoes mixed in with the chorizo that you hardly see the potato. I counted 6 total pieces of potatoes and the tortillas were sad soggy soft tortillas nothing as advertised Then we ordered the cinnamon roll which they should change the name of to call it cinnamon cake as it had cake texture and density and was not made out of fluffy crispy light dough. Needless to say false advertisement is what we experienced but we were hungry and it wasn't bad it was just not what we were looking for. It leaves much to be desired but we paid we tipped our server because she was sweet and left. Don't think we will come back again. read more

This is an absolute MUST every time I'm in the area. Biscuits and gravy are possibly the best I've ever had. We also thoroughly enjoyed banana bread French toast. The eggs were perfect and the small amount of mustard sauce (not too much - not overwhelming) gave it a nice zip. The service at DKC is also very good. Very warm and friendly. And there is a nice view of the harbor. The breakfast tacos had the BEST scrambled eggs in them. I like a soft, not raw, scramble, and these eggs were absolutely delicous. The carne asade with the eggs was tender and flavorful. The creamy sauce on top of the tacos had a nice bite of spice as well. The bloody mary was one of the best I have had and came with a slice of bacon, cube of pepper jack and a pepporcini on a toothpick. Housemade mix which had the perfect spice. My friend ordered a custom latte and it smelled really good. No complaints about the biscuits and gravy from my breakfast companion, no photo taken sorry. Apparently it is their signature most popular dish. The other two friends ordered pork breakfast burritos. Three stars for the service as we had a bizarre incident concerning one of the breakfast burritos.One of the burritos was obviously filled with pork visible in the half cut. The other, none to be seen. Lacking so much so that we thought they brought the wrong one. What proceeded next was a strange conversation with the waitress then manager about the quantity of pork used in the burrito. When clearly there just was NO pork in one of the burritos. I could go on about the incident but they did end up making my friend another burrito to go. She is a regular here and was dismayed about the entire incident. Very strange. Just saying. I enjoyed the cinammon roll at home the next day. Housemade with a to die for cream cheese frosting. Another long term favorite. Unfortunately our life currently takes us towards Port Orchard, so we have not been in a while. We had some out of town family and thought it would be a great stop on our walk around the harbor. We were able to put our name on the list, take a trip up the hill climb and return for a great brunch. They have a limited menu, but everything is good.
