Brekkie, sub the gluten free toast option.

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The current reviews do not do it justice. I had been out running errands, close to my house, when I realized that I needed to find someplace amazing for food! I found this gem on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is absolutely full of locals who the staff knows and they know the staff. A sweet couple next to me told me to come try "German night" sometime (reservation needed). Excellent service this morning from Fiona and Ivy. I have my service dog with me, they didn't give me any flack, even tho my service dog need is not visible at first glance. I ordered the eggs, bacon, and potato brekkie. Normally their potatoes are deep fried yet I asked if they had a potato option for me that was grilled instead. They happily accommodated my request. I had the gluten free toast, which was this delicious croissant type brekkie bread. This was my first trip here, and definitely not my last. I think I've found a new local favorite!!!

Chicken and biscuit gravy etc..soooo good.

Some mor breakfast my family had after picking up at airport our first stop! Hash browns are super and not just the cooked frozen ones 95% of restaurants buy either: I often take half of them home for next morning to have with eggs.

New to the area and first time visiting.. Really enjoyed breakfast there. Nice little quint spot. The servers were nice and the food was good. Nothing spectacular but jus cool

Herb forward on the chicken fried steak and gravy which isn't bad but is different. I received great service and the place had the small town hole in the wall feel which I like.

Cozy cafe in Fircrest which has been serving up quality meals for several years.Three of us were well pleased with our choices for breakfast.Servers were efficient and the coffee mugs never got empty.Large portions can be a struggle but half portions are available for a few dollars less. Not a big place....two and three tops.Counter space.TV's are rarely on and WiFi doesn't exist.Hey!Have a conversation.Good food, breakfast or lunch.

Best. Chicken. Fried. Steak. In. Town. Years ago I found a random small cafe after a drunken night in town and had what I would later declare to be the best chicken fried steak ever. It took me years to find the cafe again, and I came back dreading for my declaration to be proven wrong now that I wasn't plagued by hungover cravings. I am proud to declare that they still have the best chicken fried steak after all these years. Seriously, if you love chicken fried steak do yourself a favor and try this one.

Love this gem!! First time to Tacoma and we were looking for small businesses in the community. I selected this place based on other tellers reviews and of course wanted a try to fresh sauces. This place did not disappoint!! I ordered the blueberry waffle with eggs and toast. My hubby had the breakfast burrito with a short stack and my brother had the breakfast combo. I asked if they had offered any freshly baked pastries. She said the cook "makes this apple and peach cobbler- using the freshest ingredients. In fact he makes all our sauces homemade. He also makes this very delicious peanut butter pie. Very tempting but we went for the peach cobbler. She brought out the cobbler -added whipped cream with a bit of the peach cobbler as well. Oooohhhh mmmyyyy!! So delicious!!! Hard to describe you have to stop in and try it. All our dishes came out and each one of them was off the chart! Waffle was so fluffy and full of berries. My hubby burrito didn't stay on the plate too long. This was a great find and the service was above and beyond. My brother has marked it as "a must come back" place!!

I asked for 1/2 coffee & half cocoa and was served this adorable start to my day.

Without a doubt this is one of Tacoma's best dining experiences. Chef Shawn's team is small but mighty. The staff that we encountered were all super kind and attentive. It's widely known that Chef Shawn has a radiant personality and treats everybody in his restaurant like a longtime friend. He walked around chatting with everybody personally, showed off dishes as he walked through the restaurant, and was even happy to let diners take a peek at his kitchen (how does he make all this magic happen on TWO CAMP STOVES?!) The menu isn't massive, but everything on the menu is executed with precision and grace. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but I've had my eyes on the Lobster Bomb for years. My husband got the "Tiny Burrito" which is quite literally the size of a newborn. The Lobster Bomb was excellent. Generous chunks of succulent lobster and the hollandaise was perfect! Subtle on the lemon flavor as to not overpower, but still rich and creamy. I tried my husband's burrito and the chorizo gravy is stellar. You could easily share this with 1-2 other people in my opinion. It lasted my husband two leftover meals! The restaurant itself is small but it's cozy and feels like you're at home. No frills, nothing over the top, nothing trendy. Just a relaxed vibe with lots of authentic touches from Chef Shawn. While this was our first visit it definitely won't be our last. Don't make the mistake I did and let years pass by before you experience Tibbitts!

Best HR we've ever had probably due to the crema and red sauce. Egg sandwich had unique flavors with the onion jam and the toasted roll was so perfect with the egg and arugula. Very well balanced. I usually never eat all the bread bc not worth the carbs but couldn't resist finishing this masterpiece. All the pastries were very good too! Just needed an option to warm up the orange cardamom morning bun to make it warm and crispy but the flavors were amazing. Also loved the brown butter blueberry muffin. Only disappointment was the ube ginger muffin wasnt fully cooked - tasted great for the parts that were. Wish we had one near us on east coast!

The hostess/server asked us if we wanted anything to drink and I asked for water and coffee. I was surprised that she came out with a carafe of coffee!! All for me!! They do offer senior items but it didn't say what age qualifies as 'senior'. Maybe 55? 60? Not sure. I ordered a pancake and my daughter ordered a vegetarian omelette with hash browns. We just decided to share our food. The omelette was packed with onions, mushrooms, bell peppers and cheese and was very good. The hash browns were crispy, just the way I like it. The meal also came with your choice of toast, biscuit or sourdough and my daughter chose the sourdough. She said it tasted old so she didn't take a second bite of it. The pancake was yummy. My bill was $88 and some change. I tipped $20 in CASH so on the receipt I wrote "cash" on the tip line then the total ($88.xx) on the total line. I woke up the next morning to an additional $20 tip added to my credit card for a total of $108 on my card + the cash tip. I immediately called as soon as I saw the charge (10am) and the woman who answered the phone was extremely catty. She took my number, told me the manager/owner was out and would return my call within a couple hours. I gave it until 12:45, called again, and was told he was still out. Between my husband and I, we had to call SIX times to get ahold of a manager/owner. It took 7 hours to get hold of the manager/owner Kevin -- who was apparently grocery shopping for 7 hours according to his staff. Initially I was only asking for the extra $20 the waitress had taken from me back but after having to disrupt my entire day and deal with this horrible experience for subpar food, we asked for a full refund. I woke up this morning (8/21) to a $0.00 credit being returned to my card. LOL We own a restaurant and have a combined 30+ years experience in food & bev. This experience has been shameful on Homestead's part. The subpar guest experience was not enough to complain about on its own but it has been INCREDIBLY frustrating to take time out of our busy schedules trying to get ahold of someone to fix this issue. While the tip refund is appreciated, we are in the right to ask for a full refund. At this point, we will be disputing the entire charge with our bank and will never return.
