The Dewey's has been around a long time. I worked on Burnet Avenue for years and Dewey's was one of the places we'd hit for lunch. This was many years ago. This time we were here on a Sunday, with Dewey's being one of the few sit down restaurants in Clifton open on Sunday. We wanted to meet up with friends for dinner before a show at Ludlow Garage. We arrived around 5:15 and the place was pretty empty. By the time we left it had filled up considerably. Dewey's is still as popular as ever. The restaurant was clean and the service was fantastic. Everyone who stopped by was smiling and helpful. Our drinks were regularly refilled. We ordered the Harvest Salad, which was fresh and tasty. I split with Mark, who ordered it with Ranch rather than the balsamic it usually comes with. I enjoyed it. Our friends also ordered the Harvest Salad and ate it all up. For those interested, the Harvest Salad is one of their current specials and is Field Greens, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Figs, Boursin Cheese, Nueske's Applewood Smoked Bacon, Housemade Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing. For dinner each couple ordered an 11" pizza. We ordered the DON CORLEONE - Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Pepperoni, Genoa Salami, Capicola Ham, Oregano. It was a lot of meat, which I guess is good, but it was filling. The crust was perfect. Even the edges were tasty. I did have a mishap while grabbing a piece. The pizza and the cardboard it was sitting on fell through the pizza holder. We salvaged it gracefully without needing assistance from the staff. While I enjoyed the pizza, I could have done with half as much. Our friends ordered the PORKY FIG - Fig Jam, Mozzarella, Fontina, Prosciutto, Caramelized Red Onions,Gorgonzola and really enjoyed it. Though we didn't watch, I like how the kitchen is behind glass. Pizza prep and baking is on full display. We have a Dewey's close to us. We've never been there, but we may have to check it out sometime in the future. read more

Believe it or not, this was my first time eating Dewey's pizza. I've heard about them, but never tried them. So when an office I call on ordered from here, I was excited to give them a try. I swung by to pick up their order. The host was friendly and helpful. While I waited, I could peep through the large window to watch them make the pizza. It helped the time go by. The restaurant was clean and open. My pizza was ready quickly so I was off to the office with a stack of huge pizzas. They ordered a variety of pizzas, and I can easily say, I liked them all. I really liked the sweater sauce. Based on this experience, I'd definitely try them again. read more

Fresh ingredients on hand-tossed light and air crust. Add a family-sized salad, and you can't lose. This is the place for more "upscale" pizza, if there is such a thing. The dining room is clean, the service is good, and pizza is better than the national and regional chains. I prefer a different place down the road, but that's just a matter of taste. Dewey's is a stand by Cincinnati classic. It had been awhile since I visited their Clifton location. I was pleasantly surprised by the new parking lot- it is much bigger and easier to navigate compared to their old one. We visited for a weekday lunch. They were moderately busy, but they quickly moved a few tables to accommodate our group. On this visit we decided to just get pizza. My nephew enjoyed standing at the window and watching our pizza get made. The pizza was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I visited during pizza week but actually got an amazing salad. It was a large portion but was delicious and was not overly drenched in dressing. I'm from NC,the area I live in doesn't have any good pizza and I come up to Cincinnati for medical appointments so getting this pizza is something I do on a (near) daily base, everything about this pizza is incredible the crust is fluffy soft and crunchy, the sauce is slightly spicy (very slightly imo) I don't get it but my family loves the peppercorn ranch salad ranch so much they got a bottle of it to take home..I love everything about it, I'll most likely be switching hospitals and I mourn the fact I won't get this any more. read more

Have I mentioned I love Dewey's Taco Pizza?? Formally known as the Tito Santana, this is a masterpiece topped with a taco sauce base, perfectly seasoned ground beef, lots of cheese, fritos/corn chips, and onions. After being baked topped with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and the perfect amount of Chipotle ranch which pulls all the flavors together! I could eat this every day, and I wish it were a permanent menu item, though I'll enjoy for the brief windows that is in season. I was so excited and ready to enjoy this pizza that I almost forgot to take a picture, then I remembered I needed to torment a friend that lives out of state with a shot of this beauty - look at the strands of cheese!! This is my favorite pizza spot in Cincy. I had waited a year to order the Alabama Shaker specialty pie again. Sadly I ordered takeout and got all the way home--no BBQ sauce after the bake. So disappointing the namesake is missing. I even got a larger pizza to eat leftovers. I wish I was able to run back over. Alas...I guess I'll have to try and get there again before the special ends. I'm always glad to see a gluten-free option at a pizza place. They only offer it as a 12-inch for $3.50 extra. Unfortunately the crust was not crispy at all even though it's thin, it seemed raw and rubbery. I didn't enjoy the Edgar Allen Poe either. One slice had six whole cloves of garlic on it. I couldn't finish my pizza which is rare for me and a waste of money at over $18. read more

Came here with a group of 20 (yes, twenty) without calling ahead and had amazing service. I usually go for their gluten free pizza - which is excellent, mind you - but I this time I got the Greek salad. If only somehow I could replicate their roasted red pepper vinaigrette at home I'd eat salads all day! It had a little bit of heat, but it stepped the taste up from your typical boring Greek salad. I often forget about Dewey's because it's tucked away from Ludlow on Hosea (this was the first time I even noticed they had their own parking lot). It's a shame: Dewey's really has one of the best gluten free pizza crusts in town. This last visit proved that not only are their other offerings worth branching out for, their service is also exceptional. My favorite pizza! You really can't go wrong with any of the pizzas on the menu, my personal favorites are the porky fig and the green lantern, though I never not liked one I've tried! The harvest salad is also really good (though not as good as the Greek salad that they discontinued a few years ago-- that was my favorite salad of all time). Very good solid pizza. Crispy pie, great quality toppings, good selection of beers, fast service. You can half half on any flavors. Their specials are well balanced and I usually go with one of these straight off the menu. Do yourself a favor and try their fall Harvest Salad. Ordered take-away pizza several times throughout the pandemic and I must say my love for Dewey's declined. I remember their pies as one of the best in the area, but I noticed a decline in the quality and taste. Is it only me?? It is very possible I got spoiled by the excellent pizza from The Wheel or Harvest (they closed due to economic impact of Covid-19), but I still like a more classic-American pizza from time to time. There is a fierce competition on the pizza biz and Cincinnati has so many options, so perhaps my taste has changed. The most disappointing thing the past several times was the crust. It was soft and not crunchy. I had to eat the pizza with knife and fork (facepalm), because the slice would not hold its shape. The combinations of flavors are interesting, but the quality of ingredients seem to have declined as well. I am still a huge fan of their harvest salad. This is something I even try to reproduce at home at times. I love this salad. Not so much the pizza anymore. read more

That was one heck of a pie! We got the 17" Ryan's Inferno and it was about double the amount needed for two! The toppings were well prepared. The only downside to the pizza was that the crust was a little bit airy for my taste (but maybe that's just me). Stopped in to pick it up on a Monday evening and it was about a third of the way full. I normally visit the Oakley location, but this one in the Gaslight is also top notch. After a busy day in Eden Park, I went in for an early dinner. Thankfully, Dewey's has a parking lot just across the road and I snagged a spot. Unusual for a Sat night, I also was seated immediately. This visit was off to a spectacular start! I ordered the small (side), harvest salad which is an amazing, seasonal offering. A luscious pile of greens with pumpkin seeds, figs, Boursin cheese, and bacon (but not for this vegetarian) dressed with apple cider vinaigrette. I washed it down with a Warped Wing, cream ale from Dayton, OH. The beer and wine menu is small, but well chosen. Many local offerings makes the list even more interesting. I've never ventured from my favorite pizzas, so I decided to be adventurous and go for a calzone. The large crescent comes stuffed with mozzarella and ricotta. You then get to select three other ingredients (including any of the gourmet options). I went with mixed mushrooms, whole garlic (roasted), and artichokes. Sides of white sauce, which is olive oil with crushed garlic, and marinara make the calzone saucy. Desserts from Bonbonnerie were tempting, but I was as stuffed as my calzone after that meal. You'll never be disappointed with Dewey's - fun atmosphere, delicious pizza, good prices, and great service make it a winner every time! read more

I've long been a fan of Dewey's pizza and still believe it's one of the best chain restaurants that I've visited. I'm always pretty amazed that they can deliver great service and food so consistently across their locations. This place can get packed and parking can be a little tricky in Clifton (per usual), but if you can snag a parking spot and table, you're golden. What's even better? You can join the waitlist at Dewey's via the Yelp mobile app so that you can slide in right as your table is ready without having to wait around! As far as the food, you can't go wrong with pizza or salads (I believe they make their own salad dressing in-house). My favorite pizza is the Ryan's Inferno: olive oil, mozzarella, buffalo chicken, gorgonzola, red onion, with ranch dressing and celery after the bake. This pizza is just heaven.... the ranch dressing is my absolute favorite. Want to feel like a real lush? Ask for some extra ranch on the side and bask in your own gluttonous food coma. A date and I went to Dewey's Clifton on a Thursday evening. The place closes at 9:00. We couldn't have guessed that, and arrived at 8:30. Dewey's also does not have parking any longer. Overall, really good pizza flavors and crust, but a bit on the pricier side. Not something you'd probably get all the time, but a good once-in-a-while splurge. The pizza is typically worth the upcharge, but can't say the same for the salads. So far we've tried the... I love Dewey's Pizza, they're quality is top notch and honestly I wish I ate it more, but here is why I don't: SERVICE. My wife and I ordered a take-out order. She recently had surgery and we needed a quick meal that I could run out and grab quickly. We called ahead our order and they told us 30-40 minutes. To make the trip easier, I waited the full 40, making sure they had the time. However, when I came in, they were simply under staffed. The person seating told me that carry out orders were at the bar. Unfortunately, that bartender assumed customers in seats and drink orders for the tables were vastly more important. It took 30 more minutes for the bartender to get through the line of 5 carry out orders. 30. Minutes. That's just bad. And worse, there were other staff members asking to help the bartender, he waived them off. read more

I have passed this specific Dewey's pizza location up multiple times because it always seemed out of the way for me - as it seems to be in an awkward spot hidden behind a few other restaurants. However parking was easy to find and it is close to other places that we wanted to try in Clifton. I'm so happy we gave it a chance because it was a great experience. First I added our name to their waitlist online and this didn't seem to really help with the wait time and they even warned us online that "this is not a reservation" so we were not irritated as well waited about 10-15 minutes on a Friday night. We got the chance to look at the guy hand toss the pizza so at least we weren't bored waiting. Then we were seated and quickly asked what we would like to drink and offered menus. The waitress was kind and allowed us time to review the menu. We ordered a 13 inch original Dewey's pizza and the large Caesar salad. The pizza was delicious and the crust was AMAZING- but we wished we ordered one of their speciality pizzas because some toppings would've escalated it. So we ordered the Socrates 13 inch pizza To-Go and it was made hot and fresh as we were leaving with in 5 minutes. The salad was nice however we felt that is was small and barely enough for two to share. I didn't care for the Caesar dressing and opted for a side of ranch which tasted great! I liked the garlic flavor of the croutons however they were very oily. While the service was quick and kind - it was confusing to follow. There were more than 4 people that helped us in some way through out the night. Which is fine however it made it confusing on who we should ask for assistance and who to leave the tip for. We felt that the seating layout/ organization was messy and disorganized which made it difficult to follow their flow.
