Well shi*! I don't know what to think about all of this. I'm the epitome of your average hobby…read morejogger nowadays. I moved to TX and with that, the old me is dead and gone. On any given week I'll run 0-40+ miles and have been experiencing foot pain from early this year prior to moving here. I went in thinking I had nerve damage, a Morton neuroma since my symptoms were pointing in this direction. Only to several visits (xray that apparently didn't show anything and was completely pointless + MRI) and many payments later find out I have a laundry list of issues. According to my mri I have a stress fracture, a fully detached plantar plate and a torn plantar plate in my 2nd, 3rd and 4th metatarsal along w various other issues. I'll be lying to say I wasn't in complete disbelief when I found this out. I stood there staring at the screen like this can't possibly be my foot we are talking about. It's cute hearing people talk about their jogs but have you ran a marathon, and various other races for the past 6 months on a broken, fully ruptured foot, if not I don't give two f's! This coming from a woman who has been in heels nearly everyday of every week for months on end. No wonder my left knee where I had arthroscopic surgery has been all out of whack, I didn't know I'd been doing this on some bum foot! I seriously can't fathom these MRI results are accurate and surgery?!!!! I'm getting a second opinion like any human would but have looked further into this center since discovering this. Most every individual has been in a boot and had surgery here. I don't like the idea of feeling like I've had zero care to actually treat any of my symptoms just visit after visit scheduled to collect payment after payment. Zero taping techniques provided or anything useful in anyway that would help other than trying to be shoved into a boot and other costly options. I'd be weary of the "care" or lack there of. I did break my left foot years ago and I'm convinced they are reading results saying it's fractured, on a 5 year old fracture. If it is fractured in addition to fully detached as shown to me and torn in other areas well, then that's just peachy I suppose my adrenaline since being here has increased my tolerance to pain because it's pretty insane to think of what I've done on this foot the past 6 months. Get a second opinion if you're going to come here but I wouldn't suggest this center. It's felt all sorts of sketch from the jump. Boots, surgery, infection, being nickeled and dimed. It screams insurance fraud or some sort of scam into trying to rob you blind and a push into going under the knife. The second I head cutting through bone, my head nearly exploded. Are you effing serious right now?!? I'm going to run Dallas marathon on this before any type of surgery whatsoever. The way I see it, if something's fully detached- then I can't detach it any further. I suppose if everything told to me is accurate it's time for me to take up the out of my tax bracket hobbies I've been putting off, hello needle pointing and mahjong!

I think Dr Freeland is knowledgeable…read morebut it's what she did to me financially that is inexcusable. 1st Appt: goes well but she tells me it is $1500 ($500 per treatment) for laser for toenail fungus. Pricey but perhaps that's what I needed. But then she tells me ..hey why don't we get a simple lab test to determine if it's really a fungus before you're spend that kind of money. ok... sounds reasonable. They take the sample and I get told they'll follow-up once the lab tests come back....here's where it goes downhill. - A month passes and now one calls me. - Then the lab sends me a bill for $1300+!!! I called their office and said hey...what's with this and why haven't I been called for the lab results. So we schedule the f/u visit. - Dr Freeland says good news ..simple fungal treatment and no laser really necessary. Prescription is $150 a pop...but at least it's not laser. - show her the lab bill...she agrees that it's looks to be way too much and her staff would look into it. - two weeks go by...I call back to her staff...they claim they will talk to Dr Freeland. Still no call back. - call again and now they tell me they don't handle this and call their main office for billing. - billing says they don't handle it and there's no way they will help with the bill - billing says they will talk to Dr Freeland about perhaps relief for forgoing the Dr visit costs - weeks of calls...still nothing It seems the business could care less about the financial burden they put onto me without a single call from anybody much less Dr Freeland...just constantly stating that "we aren't responsible for what the lab charges"...and apparently they aren't responsible for recommending a very costly test that could have done in a local clinic for $50. Whatever you do...don't allow them to order tests...you will pay for their carelessness .

He worked weeks on finding studies supporting he recommended. He is very dedicated to his patients care!! That was neck, we are back for lower back issues. The neck was one time and done! At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. When I contacted the office again hoping to discuss the ongoing issues I've been experiencing since the fusion, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient and later received a certified dismissal letter from the practice. That was incredibly upsetting after trusting this practice with my care and trying for so long to advocate for myself. I'm sharing this only as my personal experience. Every patient's situation is different, but for me, the lack of support and communication during such a painful and vulnerable time was deeply disappointing. I hope future patients feel heard, respected, and taken seriously when expressing concerns about their recovery.
