We have experienced ongoing issues with our Toyota Corolla since purchasing it, and honestly, dealing with vehicle problems can be extremely frustrating. But working with Gus has made an enormous difference.
His knowledge, professionalism, patience, and genuine commitment to his customers are exceptional. He doesn't make you feel rushed, dismissed, or like you're just another service appointment. He listens. He communicates. He takes the time to explain what is happening and, most importantly, he genuinely seems to CARE about getting the situation resolved.
That is rare.
What impressed me most about Gus is that his expertise isn't just something he learned -- he takes pride in it. You can hear it in the way he talks about his work and see it in the way he interacts with customers. He is clearly invested in what he does, and that passion comes through in every conversation.
I actually believe Gus should be training other employees. Not only because of what he knows about vehicles and service, but because he demonstrates something that can't always be taught: how to take ownership, how to communicate with people, and how to genuinely care about the work you do.
People like Gus are the reason customers continue to have faith in a dealership even when they're dealing with a frustrating vehicle issue.
Vacaville Toyota, PLEASE recognize this man. If I were the owner or General Manager, Gus would be someone I would want to sit down with personally, thank him, and find out how to keep someone like him growing within the organization.
And if Toyota corporate sees this review, I hope they understand that employees like Gus are exactly what a brand should want representing the Toyota name.
Gus is an asset. A BIG one.
Thank you, Gus, for your professionalism, your knowledge, your patience, and most of all, for treating us like people instead of just another repair order.
5 stars doesn't feel like enough. Gus deserves recognition, appreciation, and absolutely an opportunity to move up.
Vacaville Toyota -- take care of this man. He's one you don't want to lose.
