The server was super personable and friendly and said that the flautas were her favorite since I have never had them before I gave them a try. Chips and salsa were good, salsa had a really nice fresh flavor and a touch of heat to it which was nice. Food came out fast... I mixed chicken and beef. Both were very good, and the food came out fast. Rice was really nicely done with some good seasoning that had flavor without being ham fisted. Beans were good too. The guac tasted very fresh. I also had a horchata, which was mind blowing and you could tell that was made in house just from its extremely fresh flavor. Sweet and creamy and filling of spices. Received five star service from Michelle. We ordered the Molcajete Mixto and the El Jefe. Thank goodness the music was way too loud so she didn't hear the El Jefe part because it would have been ridiculous for the two of us. The Molcajete Mixto more than enough food for myself and my daughter. In case you didn't know (as now I know), this is a shareable dish. With all of the protein, it could be shared among even more people if a big salad was involved but I don't know if that is on the menu. This begs the question, how would this item maintain itself for carry out or delivery? This is a visually beautiful dish, I just wonder how it holds up after a car ride in a styrofoam container. We will definitely return to try other items. Not margaritas though because they are $15 and seem to be a premade mix. Safety disclosures: This dish is not for people with low tolerance for spicy food. Neither is the salsa. The music will blow up your hearing aid if you wear one. I stopped by this DGO restaurant yesterday to grab lunch since I was staying at the hotel across the street. When I walked inside, they were not busy so they let me choose where I wanted to sit. I sat at a table right behind the bar so I could watch the television there. I went with the carne asada entree plate and was able to sub out the beans with fries. My food came out quick and it was delicious. The portion of the carne asada wasn't that much but the other sides helped fill me up. I asked for flour tortillas but got corn instead, I didn't mind but I think the waitress had trouble understanding. When I asked her if I could sub out the beans, she kept telling me it was fried until I told her no beans then she asked if I wanted something else instead. The inside of this restaurant is very nice at the bar or just regular dining. I would recommend this place. read more

What a sweet location. Good view of the Boulevard and the stadium lol. This location touts their gorditas. I ordered both the chicken gordita and the flauta's. The flautas were just okay. The salsa's were delicious however. The Gordita was good (chicken) just wished it had pico de gallo or other toppings inside. The beens and rice were fine as well. We ordered the "pint" drunk special but honestly it was mostly ice and fruit juice. Just order the regular drinks. The service was good (tag team of two) but we waited a while for the check. It is a good spot if in the area. I would like to see if anything else is as authentic as the Gordita's. read more

living in the area, we've always driven past but had never gone in. craving some tacos on a weekday night, we wanted somewhere walkable to take advantage of a marg (or 2). inside is so cute! clean, spacious with a good amount of homey decor. we were seated near some speakers which not going to lie, was loud AF but it was a vibe - next time we'll have to ask to sit a little farther. they give you chips and salsa, she convinced us to upgrade our margs to the 18oz which goddamn you get one of those and we were FEELIN them. I got 3 tacos and a side of rice and beans, fiancé got the birrira tacos. no complaints, portions were good and the salsas have a fantastic spice. servers were nice as a steady flow of customers came in. highly recommend! I'd imagine if there's anything at empower this place is poppin' but don't sleep on this lil corner restaurant! we can't wait to be back! read more

DGO Cocina cantina was a good place to come to if in the mood for some Mexican. Tostada and their combo plates is the way to go. They are fairly new however our server Jackie did a great job in recommending great items off their menu. Their chips and dip was probably the only thing that we got that maybe needed some help other than that everything was good. Atmosphere here was very decked out in the culture. We were in town for vacation and my birthday. Found this gem of a place! First, service was top notch! We were well taken care of by the staff. Food was amazing good. Both my son and I enjoyed the carne asada - perfectly seasoned and cooked, the fresh made guacamole was so good we had to take the small amount leftover back to the hotel to enjoy. The 6 year old was happy they had chicken nuggets and fries - and that they tasted good as well (he's a chicken nugget/tender and French fry connoisseur after all). Dining area was clean and very inviting. TVs were set to different athletic events and the staff happily tuned in a couple of the sets to the local Dodgers vs Rockies game so we could enjoy that as well. Then to top off the evening, a live mariachi group! They were entertaining and a fun group. We will definitely come by here again next time we're in Denver! read more

Tonight my family and I enjoyed dinner and drinks out at DGO. The service was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our waitress went above and beyond to make our experience welcoming & she gave excellent food recommendations. The chips and salsa that come when you sit down are delicious. My favorite of the tacos was the pastor on flour tortilla with cheese. The music and decor was so pleasant, and it's a kid-friendly place. I think it'd be a nice restaurant to host a group as well. Highly recommend and hope this neighborhood spot thrives! read more

DGO Cocina was a not a great experience. We were the only two people in the restaurant sitting at the bar. During this time the bartender was juicing limes with a loud machine that made it hard to even have a conversation. After asking if that was something they could stop or do elsewhere we were declined. Now to the food...the chips were old and stale, the al pastor tacos were good, the barbacoa tasted like a$$, and the asada was super salty. We didn't get to our entre of carnitas because after asking the manager if it was possible to get the bartender to juice limes elsewhere, he said no, so we cancelled the rest of our order and left. I should mention margaritas are $15+ ("happy hour" $9) more lime than booze. Sadly, we will not go back. read more

We live close by and today was our first time being in since they opened a few months ago. Food, drinks, and service were great! We sat at the bar, Daniela was bartending. Decided to give this place a shot before a concert and had the rudest hostess and bartender greet us. The bar had 10 seats open, they refused to serve us. It was overheard that the bartender was telling another employee to tell all guests there is over a 30 minute wait to make guests leave when their restaurant was half empty. They did not want business. If I had to guess, the good reviews they have are posted by themselves. Do not got here. read more

We were visiting Denver for Supercross and came across DGOZ as a walkable recommendation from the hotel we stayed at. Let me tell you, it went BEYOND any expectations!! The food was absolutely delicious (I'm talking about homemade freshly made tortillas, exquisite rice, and the Al Pastor is some of the best I've ever had!)! Food was decent and the ambiance is really nice, especially for a brand-new spot. But the pricing caught me off guard. A tiny bowl of queso was $10 (same size as a regular salsa cup) and margaritas were $15 -- my partner didn't feel anything from his. Rice was bland, but the rest of the food was good. I wish the enchilada sauce was thicker. I just think they really need to revisit their pricing, especially with how expensive everything already is right now. I ended up paying $80 with tip for enchiladas, a carne asada plate, queso, and one margarita, which felt a little steep for what we got. I don't know how this place hasn't blown up in popularity- the food is incredible, the staff are wonderful and, hey, there's parking! Its a favorite place to meet for happy hour and love that we don't have to wait to get a table, but Id rather see this place get the community love it deserves.
