Once I went and hour and a half before closing but they were not refilling things as they ran out, yet I was still charged full price. I can't even begin to tell you how horrible our food was! We went there for a late lunch (3:00 pm). We were concerned that maybe food had been out awhile but hoped they kept replenishing the buffet with fresh food. We should have looked at the food before deciding to eat there. Most of the serving dishes had very little food in them and they obviously were the last scraps. Very horrible and everything fried tasted the same. The only decent dish was the teriyaki chicken. Potstickers egg rolls, chicken wings all horrible. As we were getting ready to leave, they started bringing out the fresh dinner foods which looked better but we were not allowed certain dishes since we paid for lunch. Really really awful. If they advertise lunch until a certain time, they need to keep their dishes fresh. Our fault for not asking for fresh food rather than settling for leftover scraps! read more

I've been here about a dozen times and really like it. The people are friendly, prices reasonable, and the food is good and comforting. Not super high end, but good for a buffet. I have a few favorites: the cold oysters, chicken with vegetables, won ton soup, some of the sushi items. I recommend it for a Chinese food fix. read more

I love this buffet! They have a huge selection, including the best sushi in Oak Harbor. I'm used to sushi at a buffet being disgusting, but this place is pretty good. They have three bars of food, and another with salad and desert. They also have a Mongolian selection and sushi. I get takeout usually, but I've also eaten in. May 20, 2019 was my 6 year anniversary of living on Whidbey island. I chose to celebrate this day at D & H Buffet. I wanted dinner so I could eat fish and shrimp, and arrived at 4:30pm so, hopefully, the food would be hot and fresh. I was extremely disappointed, and regretted paying $15 for what I ate. At 4:30pm, when the dinner food is out, and should be very fresh, the butterfly fried shrimp was cooked so long, the coating was very hard, and the shrimp was dried up. The fish wasn't much better as it was also overcooked, too dry, not moist and flaky. I'm 71 but was still charged almost $15, plus tax came to over $16. I should have ordered pizza instead. I went home very disappointed. The only save was the fruit and desert bar. I did enjoy the fresh fruit, cake and ice cream, but I came for seafood. The salmon was delicious, until they let it dry out. I even basted it myself! Sorry, D & H, this visit was a disappointing one, to say the least. read more

Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Couldn't finish my plate. Teriyaki chicken was super dry and had a funny taste like it was yesterdays chicken. The beef in the broccoli beef was breaded and slimy feeling and the egg drop soup was very bland, the sausage didn't seem cooked all the way through. Granted we got there at 11:00 am. Our first impression was "wow this place is clean!" Our wait staff showed us to a table promptly and took our drink orders right on the spot. Food, excellent everything appeared freshly made. Mongolia grill and sushi were both excellent, and the most amazing part was at the end of our meal the PRICE $7.49 per person and $3.00 for our 5-year old. Very good!! read more

(Didn't pick it up, but did however pause, as if he was going to) We then grabbed a few things off the buffet, and sat down. Our waitress did not check on us or ask us for a refill until after we got desert. And also, desert sucked as well. And then when we started to pay, our ticket was outrageously priced. My husband and I frequent this place twice a month. BECAUSE IT IS THAT DAMN DELICIOUS! I love food and I love a deal. For 12 bucks, you are invited to a smorgasbord of delectable Asian foods ranging from Mongolian grill to sushi. The food is good quality... it's not fancy or top notch by any means, but it's impressive for what you pay. The flavors are wonderful and the food is always fresh and hot. The cooks are meticulous when it comes to checking the food often. We always clean house when we come here, starting off with a plate of sushi, then moving to the delicious soups, salad bar, variety of prepared meats, seafood, and breads, and finish off with an array of their selection of desserts, to include fruit, ambrosia, cakes, pies, dumplings, donuts, and ice cream. There is so much variety it excites me. I mean, I'm a fat kid, and this place is the way to my heart. Not to mention, the staff is ridiculously friendly and scrupulous. They clean the restaurant every 10 minutes. If you look up from your meal, you can always find a member of the staff cleaning and/or filling beverages. These people are professionals. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside is spacious and quite elegant. The food was all very fresh and well prepared and there was enough space in between tables that you can have a private conversation. Some of the best California rolls I've ever had at a buffet. The barbecued pork ribs were tender and delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. Very fresh cocktail shrimp topped the meal off beautifully. I also particularly appreciated the steamed pork buns which were moist and delicious, just like I remembered them in Japan. We've eaten at Jumbo buffet in Oak harbor before, but my entire family really enjoyed DH Buffet much much more. Oh yeah, they had lots of beautiful salad choices as well. The food was well worth the price - a real bargain actually. My wife and sons had the Mongolian stirfry and really enjoyed it, including watching the skilled chef prepare it. Price changes every time I go there. Went there today for to go food, asked what time dinner was and what the price difference was between lunch and dinner. Was told 4.99 per pound but if you got seafood it was 5.99 a pound. Lunch ends at 350pm then its dinner. Price is 1.00 more for dinner. I walked in about 340pm. Got my food, noticed it was 345pm on their tv screen then looked at the scale rate and noticed I was being charged the dinner rate. So, I questioned it, questioned why they always change the prices. No response! Finally got the lunch price but I will no longer go there. Money is not the issue; it's the principal! This has a one star because I can't put a double negative on this. read more
