I'm a big fan of Asian buffet restaurants, but this one is definitely one to skip. I went before noon, and the food was already luke warm. Just a whole lot of bland. I actually wondered if I was eating leftovers. I'd recommend skipping Royal Star and going to Four Seasons in Burlington instead. read more

I wish the meatloaf had had less salt. But, most importantly, when there is natural fruit being served, really important for the restaurant NOT to add extra sugar. Our family visited this buffet because we were interested in trying a new place. The staff here was nice, they kept our drinks filled and plates cleared. The food here was ok, not the best but it was a slightly later lunch hour. Alot of the food really could of used more salt or flavor, but it was still decent. The restaurant seemed slightly older but it was fairly open and spacious, however I would avoid the bathrooms as they were rather dirty. Overall, this restaurant the food is mediocre the staff was nice but I would avoid the restrooms lol. read more

Decent buffet! Think it was about $16. Lots and lots of choices, i picked mainly the seafood, but theres alot more to choose from. There was sushi... but it didnt look great, as they make only so much , seems as needed. What was out, the rice was a bit hard when i touched w tongs, so i hard passed. This place is pretty good, they have a decent selection with tons of American food. The price is great for what you get, the staff is very friendly and they have a private parking lot... They are closed on Tuesday, so keep that in mind.... The reason for the three stars is that the furniture is a bit dated, and worn out, and it is not the "Cleanest " of places... DON't pay any attention to the negative post from a few months ago. My wife and I went to Royal Star today (8/10/2023) and not only did everything I had looked and tasted good. Of course at a buffet you can't try everything but all that I didn't try also looked good. I had mussels, honey shrimp, roast beef, fried fish as well as a few salads and cheesecake for dessert. Whether you've been there before or not Please give this place a chance. The food is great. We're long- time customers who absolutely love the food and the family that owns the restaurant. The sushi is made daily, and the sliced ginger and wasabi is spicy. My wife and I have been going there for years, great selection, friendly staff, one of the few restaurants we have felt really comfortable and relaxed. Great selection of very enjoyable dishes and not over salted (important for those of us on low sodium diets). Very well managed by an family ( three generations working together) and they work along side the employees. Fresh sushi bar, Mongolian grill, great selection of Chinese and American dishes with salad bar, topped off with desert selections (you can even prepare your own waffle and top it with ice cream) What more could you want. I'm sure arriving at 8pm had something to do with the food quality, but really...should it be left out past its prime? I get it's a buffet and some of the items were tasty. A previous reviewer commented on the poorly behaved children..I wonder if he thought they were customers...cause all the kids tonight belonged to those working...or perhaps they were being baby sat.
