The roast beef itself came out pretty dried out. It was tasty but dry. If I didn't have the extra gravy, I would have sent it back and tried something else. My wife had the Italian Stromboli, which was tasty. She likes her food salty, but this was way over-salted. Again, something we might send back if it came out the same next time. I ordered the pizza steak fries -- they were good, but a little dry. I wish there was more layered sauce and cheese instead of mostly meat with red sauce and cheese just on top. It could definitely use more sauce and cheese overall. I also ordered a chicken Caesar wrap but substituted the grilled chicken for cheesesteak-style chicken. It was super good! We ordered our Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people from Wayside and we were not disappointed! When I arrived to pick it up, the woman who helped me promptly grabbed everything and even brought it out to my car. It came to about $300 with tip for large pans of turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and rolls. We had plenty of food and it was all very flavorful and fresh! Also very nice to just heat up in the oven and not worry about the grocery store, cooking, and cleaning up a ton of pots and pans. Wayside Market has the best stuffing I've ever had. I consider myself a self-proclaimed expert stuffing chef but this is better than mine and I'll never make it again as long as I live close to Wayside. I've ordered a tray of it for Thanksgiving for the last 2 years. The space is a little tight for Thanksgiving pickup but staff were so friendly it was not a problem. There is an addictive food in this place, and it's clearly the Pulled Pork. Once you consume this Pulled Pork, you're done. I've had it all over and no one compares to it. But when it was a half hour later than they promised, I called. Of course they had turned their phone off. So I had to drive down there, and I told them I hadn't gotten my food yet. I've had pizza from here in the past which I thought was very good. Today was my first time ordering and I got the Rueben, and the BBQ Andouille sausage sandwich. The Rueben wasn't bad, I would say average, nothing special. The Andouille sausage sandwich wasn't really what I expected. To start, I'm not positive they actually used andouille, it seems more like a kielbasa, but I can't confirm. What I can confirm is the meat was very over cooked. Have you ever put pepperoni in the microwave? It plumps up and gets hard. This sausage is a similar texture, not great. I wouldn't order either item again. read more

My first time at the Wayside Market in over 20 years and I was BLOWN AWAY! When I was last here, it was mostly a market, but you could get some fresh made sandwiches from the deli counter. Today, they have a grill and serve a variety of hot foods, soups, sandwiches, and pizza, they also deliver! It's come a long way since I was there last, and I am thoroughly impressed! I've heard the cheesesteaks here were pretty good and this is what we came for. They did NOT disappoint. My steak was perfect. The meat was chopped fine, almost macerated with the grease and cheese, on a delicious fresh roll. We are already planning our next visit! They have a variety of beverages, including New Hope fountain sodas, local and tasty! They do not have MilkShakes, but that's somewhat glutinous anyway. Don't pass on the baked goods, they make them fresh in store. We had the canollis, brownies, and a slice of the chocolate cake, all of which were delicious! The owners used to own Doughmain Baked Goods in Bryn Mawr, so they know how to bake! We are heading back this weekend to pickup steaks for the Eagles game, can't wait! So nice to revisit this gem, I look forward to trying some hoagies there too! read more

Wayside Market in Media, PA. Some things I really liked about Wayside market and somethings I didn't care for. The meat was very good. The cheese, fried onions and mushrooms all had great amounts. They were finely chopped and perfectly mixed in with the meat. This is the wrong roll for this cheesesteak. The lettuce and tomato have to be on top. Luckily I have eaten a lot of cheesesteaks and was able to adjust my bites to account for the meet being pushed out of the top of the cheesesteak in the roll being too bready. Please give this Cheesesteak the roll it deserves. read more

Picked up an order of wings and an 18" pizza (half pepperoni, half plain). Had to wait maybe two minutes before I could pay for it and when I got it home, everything was still piping hot. Wayside is amazing! This place has been a takeout staple for us since we moved to Media a couple of years ago. I have yet to find anything on the menu that I don't enjoy, both for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Most recently, we ordered their heat-at-home Thanksgiving meal for just my wife and me. It was tasty, reasonably priced, and a great comfort during these COVID times. My only wish is that Wayside was open on Sundays, but I totally get needing a day of rest. Looking forward to ordering many more times in the future from this great local joint. Probably going to try the pizza next! read more

We ordered the Turkey Dinner for Thanksgiving. WOW. Everything was delicious. From the moist perfectly seasoned Turkey and stuffing to the fresh cranberry sauce nothing disappointed. We got the Apple and pumpkin pies. They both were so yummy. The pumpkin was so creamy and not overly sweet. The Apple was deep dish with crumb topping. So good! This is my husband's favorite place to stop for lunch when he's working. Tucked away in a mostly residential area in Middletown, Wayside has pretty much a little of everything from breakfast, sandwiches, salads and pastas to pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks and bakery items. The breakfast burritoes, Reubens and baked ziti are really good, just to name a few of the menu items that I've tried. From the reviews I was really excited to try this place. The description of their hoagies sounded like the food at Country Deli in Gradyville, and I am always interested in a good hoagie. My husband and I tried Wayside at our first opportunity, and while decent, the hoagies did not live up to all the ravings and praise here on Yelp. For the money, Wayside's portions and taste were not comparable to the better hoagie places nearby. We could feel by the weight of the sandwich, even when wrapped, that it was not going to be nearly the amount of food we get elsewhere. Rolls were shorter, toppings slighter, and meat a lot lesser. We were really bummed because we'd love more great hoagie places in the area. Please let me say, though, that I know a lot of people who love this place, and we regret not trying any homemade soups, or other specialties they are known for. I think if we had gone for a club sandwich and soup, or a homemade deli dish, we would have been a lot more pleased. In my experience, it is normally a shop that does ONLY hoagies, that is best at hoagies. This place does a lot of deli / sandwich / lunch stuff, and I think that is the way to go with menu choices, not hoagies, which are like a whole different category in Philly, IMHO. We love Wayside. From the case of pastries to the always made to order paninis, you can't go wrong. Breakfast sandwiches here are a special treat. Best pancakes I have ever had. I usually get some kind of grilled chicken panini and my husband does a cheesesteak. It's never disappointing and always exceptionally well priced. Weve only ordered take out and delivery from them a couple of times so far, but we've had some very good things: the Cuban panini, grilled chicken Caesar salad, and chicken cheesesteaks and some nothing to write home about: corned beef special (corned beef lunch meat rather than a real Jewish slab of corned beef), cheese fries that they forgot the last time I visited so I didn't get to try those, and chicken salad club (nothing to write home about, but I'm very picky about chicken salad and theirs was a little too tangy for my taste).
