I really wanted to write a good review for these guys. They are building a cool brand for themselves -- the shop has a hipster vibe, with a cool, comfortable interior, bar, even branded merch. Everyone is super friendly, and made me feel welcome right away. A great, social, community vibe exists here. But here's why it's a 2 star review. I went in for a haircut, and at first it seemed like the attention to detail was there. I was asked how I liked my sides being cut in real time. Want it shorter? How's the color blend? (I have salt and pepper hair) Love that. But... When I got home, I realized the barber/stylist forgot to cut the top of my hair. A huge chunk of hair, an inch longer than the rest, just sticking out. I immediately had to get out my clippers with a no.8 guard to mow it all down, returning me to normalcy. The worst haircut I've ever had. read more

My husband and son both came here - we have been looking for a good barbers since we moved in the pandemic. And we found it here. The premises are clean inviting and doesn't play the music too loud. The barberswe had two Manny and Brandon. And they were both amazing. They listened to what was wanted and both had amazing skills. Brandon was particularly good with my son. Who hasn't had many professional haircuts since 2020 and so was anxious. Brandon listened and was fast at implementing his plan. I recommend them highly. We will be back. read more

I wasn't happy with the experience. First, it's a cash-only business. OK, I get it; the majority of the barber shops and salons are these days since the stylists are usually independent and lease the chair. Second, the cut I got was mediocre (at best) and I was not happy with it, especially for what I paid. Third, the interaction was strained from the start. Last, I used their ATM to withdraw cash to pay them, and a few days later all of my credit cards stopped working because the bank noted a fraud (merchant alert for that ATM). They get 2 stars because they did a fairly good job on my Son's hair (Dad and me haircut day). But I will not be going back as it set me back $120 and was not a good experience that left me feeling angry and frustrated. read more

Maybe not first thing that comes to mind for kids cuts, but you will be so thrilled! Was referred to me by my friend who takes her son to Gabe. My husband took my 1.5 year old son for his second haircut and he looks so great! They also gave him a lollipop and he had a way better experience than at one of the kid hair cutting places. He also gave a haircut that looked good from the onset but is growing out nicely too. My husband may also start going to Gabe he liked it so much! Gabe also has sons so he understands kids. I went to this place out of desperation but not expecting much. You see, I moved from NYC to California and was looking for a good Barbershop to trim my beard. I called the first that came up which was SHARP BARBER SHOP and specifically asked for someone experienced with beards and who has good straight razor techniques. I was told Pranav Sharma was the man to see. NYC is easy every barber is skilled with a razor but I have learned when traveling that not every barber has razor skills which is unheard of in NY, because you couldn't pass the State licensing test without it. This "barber's" razor skills were nonexistent and the concept of a straight line with clippers was foreign to him. He ruined my beard so I left, leaving with crooked lines and unshaven as he couldn't use a straight razor. The good thing is that he didn't charge me, but when I was telling him how to correct his work, as I have been in the business since 1986, his reply was "I don't like to be told how to do my job." I left and found another shop who couldn't do razor work, but they recommended I go to DIABLO BARBER CO. on Mt. Diablo Blvd in Lafayette California. I was seen by a young female barber named Nicole who not only fixed my beard but her razor techniques and basic barber services like the use of a hot towel for shaving were 2nd to none. She is now my barber, and I will never go back to Sharp Barbershop nor do I recommend it. I highly recommend DIABLO BARBER CO and recommend Nicole, but while observing the techniques of the other Barbers I noticed they too were true artisans and highly skilled REAL barbers. read more
