When we moved from San Francisco to Walnut Creek, we wanted to keep the same type of walking service for our Mini Bernedoodle so he could play free in nature without any constraints. Diablo Dog has been a gift for my Covid golden retriever pup Koa, who is now five years old. Koa was able to go on amazing group hikes and be socialized with other dogs. It is such a convenience to have him dropped off and picked up from our home. For the last few years we have been lucky enough to have Koa boarded with Matt (the owner) who Koa loves! Koa is always so well taken care of and happy. Koa has also been trained by the amazing Anthony! He has attended the Dog Day Academy Days. We have gotten so many compliments since then about how much calmer and well-behaved he is on a leash. There has been less barking too! Anthony is so positive and kind with Koa. I have also used the scheduled and last minute potty breaks when Koa has needed to be let out. Diablo Dog is always so caring to accommodate me with whatever Koa needs. This business is essentially perfect... they reliably pick up our dog, take her hiking with other dogs, and return her. We refer to it as her playgroup. Matt, the owner, is super accommodating with changes, and John, our dog's main walker, is just a super nice guy, and has developed a great relationship with our dog. Our dog is super high energy and we struggled to find dog walking services that could tire her out. And then I was connected to Matt and John at Diablo Dog walking and it truly took a big weight off our shoulders. John walks our pup 3x a week it's amazing to see him with her. He stops and gives her hugs and love immediately when he greats her everyday (even when no one is watching :) ). She comes running and looks forward to it everyday, and she always comes home tired and happy. We also get a report card everyday with pictures that make me jealous! Matt & crew have been amazing. Our 4 year old very energetic Rhodesian Ridgeback Lab X has been hiking with them for about 2 and a half years. He loves it, and always comes home ready for a nap. He's hiked with most of the walkers over the years, and they're all lovely and easy to work with. The app is wonderful as you get to see photos of your dog on hikes, message the staff, see where the hike, when they were picked up etc. We appreciate them working rain or shine and taking great care of Snowie! Matt and his team are an absolute GODSEND! In December 219, we started having only one of our pups go on hikes (a hound dog who needs a TON of physical and mental exercise), but it became quickly apparent that our more mellow pup (a German Shepard mix) would benefit as well. They come back happy, tired and well exercised! The app that DDW uses is awesome - I can see our dogs' weekly hike schedule, view awesome pics (posted after each hike!) and even pay through it. Matt, Mallorie and the team are great, and our dog loves them! Matt is super responsive, and they use a software called Time to Pet to keep everything organized. But you can also always call/text, too. They also accept Venmo, so it's really convenient. There is an efficient but careful vetting meet and greet at the beginning to make sure they're a good fit for your dog and vice versa. Then on the hikes, they send a summary email with pics and info after every hike. Our dog has a best dog friend in his dog walking group, they always play together, it's really sweet to see the pics. Matt and his team are great. We have a large doberman who wakes up every morning and waits by the window for one of the cars to pull up. And he goes WILD when he sees them finally. Also, he's pretty upset on days that no one shows up because we didn't schedule a hike lol. I love the "report cards" left after every walk! It gave us more insight into our dog's personality. At first, he would mention little issues about our dog, which we found to be valuable comments. Eventually, we saw that his "reports" were more positive on some days than the other so we opted change his schedule. We chose to work with Matt mainly because we wanted our dog to "Doggy socialize" with a professional. It's really nice to see photos after the walks.. We love Diablo dog walking, we have been using for over 2 years. Matt and his team are kind, great with the dogs and operate with high integrity. John walks both our dogs including taking extra special care when we added a puppy to our family. Matt quickly respond and added Stella to puppy potty breaks as part of the schedule. Now both Izzy and Stella enjoy hiking with John 3 times a week. The off leash hikes are exactly what they need and we regularly use John for boarding. Matt has been walking our 2 dogs, Atticus and Roxie since August 2012. He's extremely reliable, which is not always the case with dogwalkers. Our sometimes territorial black lab warmed up to Matt very quickly, likely because of his calm demeanor as well as the fact that he takes him on a fabulous walk 5 days a week! The times I've been home when Atticus and Roxie come in from a walk, they pass out almost immediately. A tired dog is a happy dog, and our dogs are definitely happy, in huge part due to Matt and his walks. We have 3 german shepherds and it was hard to find a dog walker that we could trust. I have been following diablo dog for a while and finally the opportunity came for me to talk to them. Absolutely wonderful service! Matt and his team are reliable, experienced , flexible, easy to get a hold of, and they send photos of my huge pup from every walk. He has walked our pup for over 2 years now and our dog always comes home happy & tired. Matt posts photos and videos of the hikes which are always fun to see and makes one jealous to not be out there yourself. Matt is a fantastic dog walker. He was quick to respond to my inquiry call and we were able to get set up with a walk within a few days. Our needs change week to week and he has been flexible around that. What we appreciate most is how patient he is with our dog.
