Course is nice however if you want to spend 7 hours playing a round this is for you I will never be back ever the starters and ambassadors did not care I wish I would've taken a picture there was six groups waiting to tee off at 10am on the starter box felt like I was at Disney land waiting in line, also there was piss all over the bathroom floor almost slipped and fell .... dirty and a waste of money. read more

I've played here a couple dozen times. I go here when I can't make a tee time anywhere else. The wait is extremely long because they allow parties to follow right behind the other. A lot of the holes play along the 60E, so the noise is almost unbearable at times. It's a decent course overall, but gets a bit boring. The front nine holes are very basic in design with a few dogs and little character. Hole 4-7 kinda blend together in my mind. The ninth is an uphill par three over water with a blind landing. Sail it perfect, and you may still have a hard time finding it. I hate that hole. The back nine is a little better once you get past number 10. 10 is a par 4 with a blind landing. If you driver further than 210yds, you may lose your ball off to the left. The rest of the back nine is pretty nice. I'm usually looking through beer goggles by hole 11, so take my review for what its worth. Places nearby I would prefer to play over DBAR: Royal Vista (barely) Los Serranos (much better) Whittier Narrows (barely) Industry Hills (not of the same caliber) Black Gold (not of the same caliber) Coyote Hills (not of the same caliber) San Dimas (overpriced, but still much better) Mountain Meadows (hilly, but fun) Places nearby I prefer DBAR over: Riverside (guy peeing on the green on hole number 3. 3.5 stars is right about where this course rates on the muni scale. This is one of the better maintained muni courses. Plays rather flat, and somewhat long. Hole #9 is a challenging uphill, over the water par 3 that I always play over par. Prices are typical for your average muni course. Pros: - Better than average greens/fairways than typical muni course. - Offers a super twilight rate. Cons: - Driving range is downhill, so unable to test distance accurately. - Back 9 conditions always seem to be in worse condition than the front 9. - Right next to the freeway. At most courses, its nice and quiet and you can enjoy the scenery. Here, sometimes you hear a truck horn right before teeing off. read more

I play here once or twice a month to stretch my legs and hang out with my buddies. Course is in pretty decent shape most of the time for a municipal course. Layout is fair and fairways are wide and forgiving. If your game is on, it's a good scoring course. If you're playing 18, expect a 5 plus hour round. read more

I played there yesterday. I will never go back. It took us 3 hrs to play 9 holes!! It's a lack of respect to all golfers to have 2 groups of five players who think they own the course play at such a pace!!! *disclaimer* Intended to be a review of the staff + venue for a wedding and NOT golf! =) 1. Location: This venue has both its ceremony and reception site co-located very close to one another (like, a few steps away). The ceremony site is shielded slightly from the golf course by some bushes (but you can still see some golfers). It contains a gazebo, a small waterfall (artificial) pond, and a walkway. The one distraction about this place is that it's close to major streets and freeways so you may hear a low hum of traffic, but during the ceremony, the voices of the party will drown it all out. There's also a good amount of space to tuck away the AV equipment so as not to create an unpleasant distraction during the ceremony. The reception room is quite a beauty - large carpeted space with a huge dance floor up front. Chandeliers hang from the ceilings and (my favorite)..instead of walls, thick glass is used and so one can see outside views while being inside the warm reception room. Oh yeah...you also get the lobby and bridal room. :) 2. Capacity: I think there were about 120 people (but its touted to hold up to 250 people, sitting or standing room I'm not sure). But there was a lot of space for 120 people. There were probably 60 or so guests in the ceremony and it definitely felt intimate! 3. Cost (packages): It's around the $60's for 130ish people. This excludes the linens and chair covers , backdrops etc.. 4. Ambiance: Intimate and warm. It's chilly in the fall time though and be hopeful that it does not rain! If it does, I think they have a backup plan to do the ceremony in the reception room. 5. General Feel: Intimate and warm... I know I used that already but that is probably how I felt. I loved that the bridal room was so close to the ceremony and reception site (hard to walk too far in heels). I also liked the "fake" heater which actually emitted heat! The wedding manager / coordinator at the site was super friendly, patient and willing to explain everything 3 times and made sure the bride felt at ease. She helped and coordinated and meshed exceedingly well with the party! The only thing I didn't enjoy was the chilly weather and the wet ground, the latter of which from time to time required me unsticking my heels to prevent me from further sinking into the ground. The banquets manager was also very pleasant and easy to work with - all our needs we taken care of quickly. The food was very good (salmon and steak!). And I heard that the groom was able to customize the presentation of the meal. Sound quality is also very good - echos are absorbed by the carpet. They provide you with a good sized screen for presentations. Chairs had covers on them...the cocktail hour was done really well...too bad I didn't have time to eat anything though! But heard it was nice. Oh yeah, the bridal room is large enough for probably 4 people, but anything beyond that gets unwieldy. I give it 4 stars, despite the uncontrollable things - weather and ground. :) Staff was very friendly+helpful, food was very good, rooms were beautiful and everyone had a good time! read more

I got married at DBGC and I am incredibly happy I did. The price was the best we found and we didn't end up giving much up just because we were on a budget. Leading up to the wedding, they were patient with all of my questions and answered all of them in a timely manner. The day of, my pictures were being taken during the appetizer hour, but when I came in to the banquet hall, there was a little array of appetizers at the sweetheart table for my husband and I. The champagne chicken that we were served was surprisingly delicious. And the staff was incredibly friendly. The room looked beautiful as did the grounds where the ceremony took place. I recommend this place for any bride, whether they're on a budget or not. read more

Although I moved away from Diamond Bar, as I'm a part of their Men's Club, I still consider this to be my home course. As many have alluded to this point, I won't belabor it...the pace of play is slow..but then again, almost all public golf courses, that are fairly easy (i.e. rating is less than or equal to 72) are going to be slow playing on weekends simply due to the number of people playing. If you don't believe me, read every other golf course review you'll look up! Really... The layout of the course is good. It's a good track with plenty of opportunities to hit golf shots, not just pipe driver down the middle every time. More often than not, you'll find at least 1 pin placement throughout the course, where you know the greenskeeper was thinking "suckers...get to this pin!...muhahah"...just evil... The greens are in sufficient condition. Now, I have my opinion on this, and this is mine alone...don't fault me for this. I blame all those people that play golf and not repair their ball marks for the condition of the greens. You don't need a fancy divot tool to fix it properly...a tee would do...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! DO NOT JUST TAP DOWN THE DIVOT...it just makes a hole for the next person to putt over it. If we as golfers police our own ball marks, as opposed to the 3rd plumb bob...the course would be in better shape. Yeah...the driving range is not the greatest. It looks nice though. The hitting area is on a bit of an uphill, but I try to make the most of it, but deliberately transferring my weight to my forward foot. After warming up a bit like that, once you head out, you won't have trouble with your weight shift (that lesson was free for everyone...next one, I'm going to have to charge you). The course is fun, but for us golfers, what golf course isn't fun. Now, you'll definitely have a different opinion if you're out there to have a case of beer and slap a golf ball around (well...maybe not). read more

the Banquet hall was nice, i enjoyed the lighting of the banquet hall very much as well as the decorations on the table (very clean). I happened to get to the party a little early and noticed the employees working very hard on getting everything to look good. the Staff was very friendly, and helpful. My only complaint is that one of the servers took my drink to early, however he hooked me up with a free drink later. After playing my early morning round I purchased a bucket of range balls to work on some things that I was lacking on the course that day. Let me just say shame on you Diamond Bar for such poor equipment. Almost every single range ball was nicked up or had no dimples, literally smooth all the way around. To me very unacceptable. Balls do not fly right nor is it good on my clubs to have sharp edges on the balls from lawnmowers.... needless to say, I will not hit balls here again. I've come to expect a lot from Yelp so I have to say, I'm fairly disappointed in the reviews for golf courses around here. Not that they're bad, I just feel there should be more. I know there's a ton of golfers out there, but, I digress..... I've been living in the general vicinity for a large part of my life and I remember when this course was new. I've been to new golf courses before and have seen how nice it is. This course, like me, is not get any younger, but also, like me, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. Sure, courses get old and rundown, but if it's well kept, it's still great in many ways. I played for the 1st time recently when we got a little break from all this rain we've been having so I expected the course to be pretty damp. Although the course wasn't it that great of a shape that day, you can easily imagine that place on a good day. The course is not too long and makes really good use of the terrain. I have a couple complaints, though: 1. There are marshalls everywhere but none are encouraging speedier play. Needless to say, we ran into a lot of traffic. 2. Tee times are way too hard to get during the weekend. The starter told us the only way you can really get a good tee time is if you show up at 5am the week before because the phones are busy for hours. I would love a chance to play this during the week, but like every other average joe, i'm stuck at work all week. If I get a chance to, I'd definitely go back another weekend to experience it when it's a little more dry. read more

This course is the worst or worst. Our tee time was at 8:35am and there was 12 carts in front of us. We didn't tee off until 9:15 am. We waited to tee off on every hole after that and finished over 6 and a half hours later. This owner is extremely greedy and packing tee times on like sardines. Fairways are horrible packed dirt everywhere. So disappointed and will never return again. Shame on you owners! read more

Diamond Bar Golf Course is truly a hidden gem. We recently had our wedding here and everything was perfect. The gorgeous garden gazebo provided a great setting for our ceremony. The staff, food, and service were all exceptional. They don't nickle and dime you like most venues for every little thing you need. Jennifer, Hailey, Michelle, and Ryan were so easy to work with and ensured we had no issues throughout the entire process. We received so many positive comments from our friends and family regarding how amazing the wedding was. It was nice to work with people who actually seemed to care about our big day rather than treat us like a business transaction. With the right lighting, music, and elegant dining set-up, this place was perfect. The pricing was very reasonable and you get to take your wedding photos on a beautiful golf course. Can't really beat that! I highly recommend DBGC for couples looking for a wedding venue with excellent customer service. I really don't think you will be let down once you speak with the events team and see your options. I had lunch here with two of my pals a week ago. I'm originally from Chicago and we care about two things: good food and good service. The food was up to par (sorry I had to). But what stood out to us the most was the caring, sweethearted, and gracious waitress. I believe her name was Cynthia. She made us feel right at home. Her hospitality is second to none. Greens tend to be good here. Ball rolls true. Fairway is a bit suspect, not consistent and not lush. Rough is sometimes kept and other parts unkept. Tee boxes are even and has normal wear and tear. Difficulty level is intermediate but holes seem repetitive in set up. The one thing about this place is that it's always crowded and I've seen 5somes walking! Price is $$$ out of 5... This establishment sucks and they rip you off. My buddy and I came to play 18 holes and decided to rent a cart. This Asian douche bag said if I wanted my own cart, I had to pay an additional $15. He said the $15 I paid for is for a seat and that's how other places do it. I told him that's not how other places do it. If a group is sharing a cart, it's only one price or it's one price to rent a cart. Definitely will not be coming here again and I will inform my golfer buddies to avoid this location. We celebrated my mother's 60th birthday party here and Courtney and Demi were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure the party was as special as we wanted it to be. Their input and ideas helped us through the entire process. We knew once we met with Courtney that this was the place for our event. The attention to detail was so great. I walked in as they were setting up and it just took my breath away. The table cloth, chair sash, chargers...everything was just absolutely beautiful and the exact colors we wanted. Once everything was complete it really was breathtaking. The room was beautiful!!! Now the food, we did the sit down dinner combo of tri-tip and chicken piccata and it was delicious! And the hors d'oeuvres...we had the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Bruschetta and Coconut Shrimp w/ Thai Chili Sauce. My family loved it all, but the coconut shrimp was a hit. We definitely picked good food, from the rave reviews that our family gave us. The staff was absolutely amazing, very courteous and friendly and attentive. They made sure everything moved along smoothly and it helped keep everyone engaged at all times. Overall, everything was a success and I'm racking my brain thinking of another event to have here because I loved everything. The weekend green fee rate walking is $36.50 and if you want a cart, it's an additional $13. If you want to walk, it's not bad (except for maybe #9 and #18). We played on a Sat afternoon...and my oh my was it a long round. I was already expecting a 5 hour round since it's a public course and we were playing on a beautiful Saturday, but we didn't expect the round to take 6+ hours. The front 9 alone took about 3.5 hours. I'm glad that we were drinking beers and were paired up with another 2 some who turned out to be pretty cool. It made the slow play seem bearable. Challenge wise, this course is good. I think length is where the challenge is. It's about 6800 from the blues. Condition wise, the course is in decent shape. When we played, half of each green was undergoing aerification. The other half of each green was in nice shape...even quick and tricky at times. Just like all the other reviews have said, this place can benefit from a marshall enforcing pace of play or something. I think this course is worth trying tho @ least once. My suggestion: perhaps play early in the morning, like first light, so that you don't have to wait on anyone! read more

This course is a bit deceiving. There's not a lot of hazards and it's relatively flat, but it's long. Playing from the blue tees, you better hit your driver well. The par 4 9th always gives me problems, hitting against the wind, the hole plays 390+. Balls hit well off the tee still leaves a long or mid iron into the green. The 18th is also a challenging par 4 hitting up hill. A good drive in the fairway either leaves you on top of the hill with a 170 yard carry to the green or a downslope lie. Well maintained and a quick fix for local golfers. read more

You know this place is closing, right? Sometime in July, it is scheduled to close for 18 months, not reopening until January 2023. As a result, conditions have been neglected, to say the least. Major reconstructiion involving 3 holes on the east side of Grand (1,2 & 9) and all 6 holes on the west side of Grand. Also a new cart tunnel underpass for Grand Avenue. Not sure if the driving range and the restaurant will remain open. But whatever you do, don't bother to join the Players Club here. read more

Layout is nice and the greens were actually green and clean. The tee boxes were beat to hell on all the par 3's which made me have to tee up when I usually hit off the grass. If it rained in the last week do not go to this course. They have a drainage problem and the back nine is always a swamp. The pace is below average but not terrible. I played my slowest round EVER at this course which was over 7 hours on Fathers day. Best holes are 4, 8, 9, 14, 16, & 18. read more
