I take all my cars to this location for smog checks. They are usually pretty good, but today I showed up about 30 minutes before the smog technician was in. I asked the other mechanic if he could put some air in my front tires since I was literally parked in the garage and he made me go over to the self-service air Machine where I had to pay 2.50 to get air in my tires. I guess it's hard times for these places but really gonna think about taking my car somewhere else if they're going to nickel and dime for something like this. read more

I used to come here often due to the convenience. That first interaction I had with the younger man was lovely. Today, my interaction with an older man will be the reason I never return and suggest others to take their business elsewhere. I got there around 6am - all business lights on, pumps on, cashier door open. I inserted my card at the pump and for whatever reason it did not read it and would not release (this was supposed to be a quick stop on my way to work). I run inside to tell the man working that my card was stuck. He said "well we just opened so it'll be a minute before we can get out to help you". I ran back to my car and messed with the reader some more, it came out! I ran back inside with my card to do the transaction inside and then the man tells me, none of the pumps are running because we just opened. Maybe keep pump lights off while they're not running? Maybe telling me That to begin with? He was so rude to top it off. So if you see this place open, who knows, it's probably not. read more

I spent $1200.00 to repair a Mitsubishi harmonic balancer in December. August the balancer worked loose I returned for warranty service. Two days after the warranty repair the balancer worked loose again. Mobil voided any further warranty services on my bill. August when I picked up my Mitsubishi one of the service technicians advised me that they used thread lock to secure the bolt. It is my opinion that they employed improper procedures to tighten the loose bolt. There is not enough room to properly tighten the bolt without removing the radiator. When I called to discuss the new problem I was advised that I needed to have the engine rebuilt. Very frustrating because I researched and advised them on how to properly repair the loose bolt. I retightened the bolt myself, however my touque wrench would not fit due to lack of space. I could only get about 80 lbs instead of the required 138 lbs of torque. All I can say is buyers beware they are only good at simple repair work and charges are over priced. read more

I came here to drop off oil. They charge.... They should change their motto from "Napa know how" to Napa know how to rip people off". Almost all places take it for free. Even Firestone, which is consistently mediocre, takes it for free. They nickel and dime you here and probably will charge you for replacing a 5 cent screw. Avoid at all cost as it will literally cost you to do any type of service. Changed oil here and found a pool of liquid under my car 3 days later. Turn out to be oil, took the car back here and it was some under qualified tech, who broke an o-ring while tightening the oil filter. Very unsatisfactory experience. A tech friend told me that my car engine would've blow up if I haven't caught it in time. They changed a new oil filter and cleaned the bottom of my car. I have a 30ft Class C with a bike rack and 4 bikes hanging off the back. This site is busy with a line of vehicles ready in the queue. My usual smog guy is out in Jurupa Valley with plenty if space to turn, but I wasn't about to drive in the crazy traffic with crazy gas prices. I understand folks complaining about prices, but heck, everything has gone up. I called at 11:15am and asked if they would smog my RV. In my head I was prepared that they would say no because I looked at the google satellite images of the place (still packed) and drove by earlier that morning and saw a row of security patrol cars ready for smog check. I was dreading the drive to and from in traffic back to DB. To my surprise they said they can take me. They cautioned me that they need to move cars to get the RV around the back and they would get it done by end of the day at 6pm. I was like, okay I'll bring by around noon. I pull up at one of the gas stations, walk in and they immediately started paperwork, no sitting around like my usual smog guy, took my info and keys. I was curious how, but I didn't care. I was free from the drive from hell. Sure enough, I parked in a parking lot next door around 5:30 to check them out from a distance. The RV was at the back where a ton of cars were blocking the way. He finished right at 5:57pm and I walked up as soon as he moved the RV to the front. The price was $149 OTD but worth it from a gas and sanity perspective. They were all accommodating and service was immediate (no waiting around for the customer except for the RV to move). There aren't too many places where an RV can pull up in DB, so this is the place for me. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would! My bf decided to take his car here to have the clutch fixed on his 2002 Acura RSX-Type S since the place was close to our house. I told him not to go there, but that's another story. He dropped the car off on 06/09/14 and after discussing the problem and the length of the job (8 hours); the bf advised the guy he was dealing with that they could keep it until Thursday. The guy said they would have it before that. The bf stresses that he needs the car by Thursday 3PM because he has to work that night. Thursday rolls around and the car isn't done since "their guy was out sick on Wednesday". HOW IS THAT OUR PROBLEM? I had to leave work early (no pay) so that my bf could take my car to work that night. Then on Friday, the car is still not ready. Oh yes, the clutch was replaced, but now the car won't start at all. Oh and they can't figure out why. So, guess what? The car was towed to an Acura dealership for a diagnosis. REALLY?!?!?! We should have gone there in the first place and saved ourselves the trouble. So, Friday he has to borrow his brother's truck to go to work. Saturday and Sunday go by with no car. The bf keeps calling for updates and is being told "the car is at Acura". So, here it is Monday, June 16th and we still have no RSX. I decided to call the local Acura dealers to find out where the hell the car is and what is going on. I find the car and it turns out that it was sitting at Acura all weekend because they couldn't get to it. Monday/Tuesday were diagnostic days so we still didn't have the car. The bf is doing this and that to get rides and what not. Mind you, we live in Diamond Bar and he works in Long Beach; and he works odd hours so it's not like he can just jump on the bus. They have now had the car for a week and there is no offer of a rental mentioned. I decided to call the owner and discuss the problem with him. Although he was very nice, he was also very clueless. He did agree that if the car wasn't ready by Wednesday/Thursday that they would get the bf into a rental car. Yeah right!! Finally, they get the car back from Acura and it turns out that the timing chain was off and there was a problem with some other thing related to that. Both items were fine before the clutch job. In fact, the car was running tops until the clutch problem. So, once they got the car back from Acura (on Friday), they begin work. During this whole ordeal, we are in the process of moving. At the end of it all, the car was not returned to the bf until today at 1-ish. Then they have the audacity to tell him that they won't charge him for the repairs to the timing chain and what not. WHAT!?!? Of course you won't since you broke it! These guys are total jerk offs! My bf was without his car for over two weeks because their mechanics are a huge joke. And the kicker is that they didn't even offer him any kind of compensation or discount off of his bill for the huge inconvenience. I took my car in for a smog check. I went there out of convenience since they charge $75 for SUV. Something so but a smog check for $59.99 and the other fee was to send the electronic certificate to DMV. Very high price but again went out of convenience. They saw my engine light on but tested my car anyways and failed it. Then wanted me to fix it there. I didn't know but they said I can come back after the engine light issue is cleared and the permanent log/monitor is reset and just pay the difference of the smog check. Assumed it was the $15. I came back and they wanted to charge me full price. I could have gotten a smog check elsewhere for cheaper. They reduced the price but in total I spent over $100 for a pass smog check. Why do they test your car and fail when they can just plug that one small device to check if it would pass or not. Or why test when they know from experience, engine light on will be a fail? Their policy is they can't complete the smog check unless I put my original air filter back on...fine! Went in today at 11 am for a smog check. The manager told me it would be 40 minutes. I went grocery shopping and had some lunch. Returned 40 min later and my car hadn't been moved. This should have been a good first clue. Got my car back 1 hour and 40 minutes later. If I would have known it would take this long I would have come back another time. I sat there and watched others who came after me come and go. They said that they would give me a "discount" because I was unhappy for waiting over an hour past when my car was due. i looked at the bill, I got a $5 off coupon for waiting 100 minutes for my smog check in the near 100 degree weather when I was told it would be 40. Nice.... If my time is worth $5 / hr, then maybe they should charge the same price for labor on repairs...... I have lived in Diamond Bar for 25 years and I will NEVER patronize this place again. I purchased gas from here several years ago but stopped after the prices became over 25% higher than nearby stations. Takes to long for a simple brake and light inspection dropped my car off at 945am it's 315pm and it's still not done. They also told me that the inspection couldn't be done because the inspector never came. This type of inspection is not something that should take 6 hours. Twice now. Never again. They aren't outright dishonest, but they don't do business the way I do, or hope others will do. I have gone in twice for smog checks because they are nearby. The first time, they charged me then told me it didn't pass because the check engine light was on. You could see that before doing anything. It's a LIGHT. They could have told me it won't pass with the light on, but instead they did the test and charged me then told me it couldn't pass with it on. I had it reset by a friend, then had it smogged again, and it passed fine. The last time I had a car fail because of smoke from the tailpipe. Again, that was obvious and visible before the test. But they didn't tell me. They did the full test and charged me before telling me. Same issue. Why not tell me what is obvious? That's how everyone wants to be treated isn't it? They told me they aren't allowed to tell me these obvious and visible issues that will fail it beforehand. So I asked what BAR guidelines prohibit them from doing so. They couldn't give me one. If they or someone can show me a rule that prohibits them from being forthright about clear and obvious problems that will cause it to fail, I will gladly remove this review. But having spent decades in the repair field, I've never heard of any rule that prohibits any shop from advising a customer about something beforehand. In fact, almost weekly in my repair business, I have customers check things when they call me before hiring me. Much of the time the issue is resolved and they don't need to hire me for that repair. But I can tell you, they will never call anyone else when they need a repair. That is how honest businesses who care about their customers treat them. read more

Had car problems on Saturday, May 9 in the evening so AAA towed my car to this shop since it had overnight and is open on Sundays. I call the next day and the cashier says the mechanic is not in, perhaps because it is Mother's Day, which is fine. After checking out their Yelp reviews I told him to let the mechanic know that we are just going to pick up the car first thing Monday morning and didn't want any diagnostics done. Today, Monday, May 11 I went to pick up my car when the shop opened. They wanted to charge me $44.50 for a "diagnostics" that I didn't agree to, and they wouldn't even have had time to do. I didn't go to the shop myself before today. We drove the car to a nearby honest mechanic who found an engine gasket had blown off and we needed a new engine. For some reason Diamond Bar Mobil's "diagnostics" didn't find that problem. Or did they even run a diagnostics? Make sure you know a mechanic's reputation before taking your car in. read more

I brought my 1998 Mitsubishi in for a smog emissions repair required by the DMV to get smog certified. I had been approved for the BAR CAP program and because the station was listed by the BAR as Gold Shield certfied- I trusted the station's mechanic who was the head mechanic at the location. After 5 days I returned to pick up the vehicle after the emissions standards set by the DMV had been met due to repairs which included mainly the exhaust manifold being replaced due to a crack they had reported to me of having been the main cause of the high HC emissions; as well as the oxygen sensor being replaced due to oil contamination as they reported also. This totalled $920.00 in repair costs. Problem was that although the emissions had been taken care of; I noticed after returning home that the front wheel compartment splash shield had been torn away and not replaced.....granted that is only a $28.00 fix replacement...nevertheless left an impression that the job may have not been as thorough as I would have done myself or could have and should have been. Although the Vehicle inspection report indicated clearly that the emissions problem had been abated and thereby the purpose of the repairs had been accomplished according to DMV EPA standards...I felt that they had not been as careful as they could have been because the splash shield for the front wheel compartment covering the internal engine compartment to keep mud and rain from damaging the starter and alternator had simply been torn out and not even replaced! Not only that I also noticed that in the same section of the vehicle there was a torgue bolt missing from one of the attached components of the exhaust system right in plain view for anyone to look at under the wheel compartment looking into the engine compartment. That also gave me some worries as to just how competent and thorough a job they had done as compared to what was offered. Besides this I was not even shown the cracked exhaust manifold they had replaced nor the old oxygen sensor that they had replaced. It should have been that the mechanic should as a matter of standard procedure guided the vehicle owner through the entire process by showing the actual parts in this case the exhaust manifold and the o2 sensor they had replaced as much as the new parts which they had ordered on my behalf, in order to verify the authenticity of their repair. It was not done and I assumed that the VIR was the guarantee that all repairs had been done according to requirements as set forth by the ASE certification as well as honesty. I should have requested that the replaced components be given to the vehicle owner after replacement work had been done. But I did not do so because I assumed that the mechanics were of good character of good faith and so there would be no need for that and that they would act in the best interest of both society as much as the owner. But still I insist that the components should have at least been shown to the owner for verification purposes on a routine standard basis...but again I reiterate that was not done...it is arguable that that may not have been necessary....but again procedure is procedure and it should be followed. I do have to acknowledge that there were several excellent mechanics in their own right at this location who seemed to be genuinely ASE certified and of good moral and honest intellectual character. But it appears that you have to ask for the replaced components and also be with the mechanic who is doing the diagnosis..about 1.5 hours of your time....in order to verfiy the diagnosis.... In all fairness, if my splash shield had not been torn and unreplaced; and the bolt not been missing from the exhaust component as directly visible...then I would have had no good reason to even suspect that anything had not been done correctly...but as it is that was not the case...but having said that the car seems to be running well otherwise...but I'll have to wait and see whether the one year warranty on the replaced parts does hold up. Until then make sure you take your vehicle to a trustworthy source and then follow the procedures outiline above expecially as it pertains to expensive replacement parts of the emissions system.. read more

WORST OF THE WORST! The owner, Tim is very rude and mean. I called ahead of time asking about smog check price. I was told $55, but they can give me a $5 discount. So i went. When I'm there, Tim told me that $55 is already after discount. I wasn't happy of course so I told him that's I will still do the smog check but it's a dishonest thing to do as a autoshop to cheat the customer. He's pissed and became very very mean and rude. He throw the paperwork in front of my face and said very rudley that he's the owner he doens't want to do my car. I've never seen anyone so low.
