I signed up for Diamond's twice-a-year check-ups. They were pleasant and easy to work with, showing up on time and such. But ultimately I dropped out because almost every visit resulted in a pushy sales pitch for something I'm pretty sure I don't need. (My house is just a few years old, so not a lot is breaking.) (What do you think? Do I need a $160 cleaning of my blower fan?) The last tech who visited urged replacing my starting condenser, whose capacitance (he showed me) was down to 9.7 uF, while the spec calls for 10 plus or minus 5% (hee!). I'm happy to pay well to have a knowledgeable person come regularly to lay hands on my HVAC stuff, but I'm put off by the risk that that person is going to view each visit as an opportunity to sell me something expensive and unnecessary. read more

Very trustworthy company and I highly recommend it! My 85-year-old former neighbor's heat stopped working and I called another company to get a quote. They said it would be 3000 dollars for a band-aid fix or I could have the furnace replaced for 6000 dollars. My neighbor could not afford to get it fixed but I knew I had to get her heat fast, the nights were too cold for her and she had been living in her living room area with a space heater and blankets. A friend recommended I call Diamond. I called and they told me about their 2nd opinion quote which is free! They sent their technician Kenny out to take a look. Kenny looked over the unit, used his carbon monoxide tester, and said the furnace was fine to run and still had another season. All he had to do was turn it on. This made me think the other technician from the bad company also knew all was needed was to turn the furnace on. Kenny was amazing, cares about people, and loves company he works for. He didn't even charge me. I nearly cried, it was such a blessing. I'm still angry some other company tried to take advantage of an 85-year-old woman but Diamond saved the day and they will have my business for life! read more

This company is awesome! I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate all they've done and how considerate and professional they are when conducting business. My husband and I were in Hawaii, about to get married (literally, 3 hours away from the ceremony) when my roommate calls us saying that the heating wasn't working. It was late November so temperatures were beginning to drop. My husband called Diamond to come out to see what was going on. It was such fast and easy service. To make it even better the maintenance specialist even gave us a discount because he felt bad this happened on our wedding day. Best. Service. Ever. We've also since enrolled in their yearly maintenance program and I've been very happy with how it's gone so far. They never push you to do unnecessary repairs on our unit. They provide logical recommendations, but never act pushy or urgent, like it's absolutely imperative we fix such and such for so much money. I have had horrible experiences with hearing and cooking companies so working with Diamond has been like coming out of the water for air. They probably provide excellent service....BUT my estimate for repair and recharge on an older R-22 system stated 6lbs of Freon at $216.66 per pound plus labor at $2,300+...total estimate was $3,600+..... My licensed Union EPA certified tech completed this repair for $850. Line set only required 5lbs of Freon not 6. I bought 10lbs of R-22 for $350. 5lbs = $175. My recommendation...do the math and find a reasonable repairman... read more

They scheduled to drop by to give estimate on whole house humidifier and was on time and courteous. I received quotes on steam option and bypass options from Glenn. I made a selection and signed and sent the estimate and was told the installation team would contact me to schedule right away. I had to contact them a couple of times over the course of a week and a half but finally was contacted and Owen came out and explained how everything was going to go, performed the installation and then proceeded to tell me and show me everything I needed to know. He is very knowledgeable and professional. The price was excellent in comparing with no fewer than five other local businesses with good reputations. I will use them again. read more

My heater stopped working (on a weekend of course). So I went to yelp looking for a company that had great reviews and was open. Diamond was at the top of the list and made it so easy to be fixed, and quickly! Called in about 10:15 and someone was being dispatched within 20! Heater fixed and done by 11:30. My only qualm is that they didn't have a sensor in stock for my system and only cleaned it (so it's likely to fail again). After checking reviews, I called Diamond, and bought their maintenance plan after getting a run down on what that meant. A winter check up and spring check up, and a discount service call of $49 should I need it in between check ups. First call was $79 because I am not on the maintenance plan yet. I met their tech, Albert, an enthusiastic father of 3 whose been with the company several years. He spent the time teaching me how my heater worked especially since I had two thermostats, told me what type of heater filters to buy, taught me how to install the filters, and how to set my thermostat. He was great. I have a scheduled appt for winter check up already for Jan. 15 meanwhile I've been staying warm since Albert's visit. read more

I want to tell you a story. For one I am disabled, and on the short leash of disability income. My furnace had locked itself out. No heat at all. I checked everything I could, fuses, flame issues, schematic, etc, and decided I need a professional. I always research my options. Checked on line for parts costs. That was important, as in an estimate, you should know original cost, and then the mark-up. I called 10 companies. Basically, interviewing calls. Others that I did call were short and abrupt with me. Not the type I wanted to deal with. Diamond Heating and Cooling, was called, more as an informational call. I wanted to find out costs, as that concerned me. What was the conversation going to be like? Diamond reached out to me in our conversation, which thoroughly surprised me, as that is uncommon. They were warm in conversation, made a very considerate connection. Made every single effort in my best interests. Their technician Bradley was phenomenal. He worked on problem solving. We found the little fix. No stating I needed expensive parts, NO sales tactics. I was so relieved. The service call and costs were more than reasonable. *No enticement by using low service call costs for evaluation, then higher costs for a repair. Like others. I FULLY trust them. I have no doubt that no matter the situation with me, in the hospital or whatever, that I can count on them for sincerity and honesty. *That a job will be done right, with full consideration towards the client. We had a problem with our furnace not starting. We called Diamond and they were very pleasant on the phone and got us booked for service later that same day. Wayne came out and got everything back working. We still have a part to replace but we have heat for now and know he's going to take care of the rest for us. Aside from getting our heat back on (it's winter!) Wayne is just a really nice person and interesting guy to talk with. Do not use this company if you are selling a house and need units serviced or inspected. They came out and serviced our units and made some recommended repairs. The recommendations seemed reasonable. However, no where in the notes did it recommend replacement of the units. Our buyer asked to talk to the tech and was subsequently told that the units needed to be replaced at a cost of $17,500. What?!? We were blind sided by their opinion and our contract was blown up. In speaking with management, they took no ownership for the tech saying one thing to the buyer and another in their report. Totally unethical to not disclose such a huge finding to the owners! read more

What could have been a terrible situation turned out ok during the hottest days of 2018. In late July, we called for service as the A/C seemed to have gone south. Diamond sent out a tech on. Friday PM. I was amazed that they responded on the same day, within hours. The tech quickly found a complete evaporator coil failure and rapidly leaking coolant. Now with an 11 year old builder quality unit things didn't look good. A quick pencil out seemed to point to a $1500-$2200 repair. (Look up the cost for just a complete refill of the old R-22 coolant.) Add on the cost of rebuilding the housing for a new larger coil, removal and replacing the furnace unit and it began to look like it might be cheaper and easier to go with a new furnace and A/C. I requested price estimates on either option. Rob, the "comfort councilor"came out that same night. He was working the weekend shifts and quickly gave me both options. With my engineering background and some knowledge of HVAC prices, I felt he gave me honest and realistic price estimates. So the new option won the day over paying almost the same as a repair and still having an 11 year old furnace. Now, the question was when could this be done. Being an honest guy he said, "We are running a week and a half out with installations". Yike, "I said" But he said Diamond could loan us a 10,000 BTU portable until the date of installation. They have quite a few loaners for this purpose and we could roll it between the bedroom and dining room/kitchen. Life Saver!!!! And since we would be gone to Alaska for most of that time, no great heat stroke for us. On our return, the crew came and installed the whole new setup in 5 hours. Heaven can't be nicer than a perfectly running A/C and super quiet. Give a high 5 for Diamond. They were quick, professional and kept their word. Bob came in to make sure the returns were blowing the cold air in and made sure to leave the outside of the house clean and in good order prior to leaving. I've been contracted with this company since it became clear that Access Heating & Cooling were not doing the jobs I called them out to do. The last appointment, with Access, the technician sat in his truck on the phone the entire time. After going out there several times I finally told him I needed to leave and asked how much longer he would be. He said he was done and had me sign a paper. There was no charge because I had a maintenance agreement with them. Then I called Diamond and have been receiving superior service for the last 3 years. We live in a house that, when we moved in 6 years ago, had a brand new, never used Goodman furnace installed by Green's Heating and Air. We started having trouble with it the very first winter! It would stop working, Greens would come out, it would work for a week or so, stop working etc. Greens started getting very rude with us and didn't want to come out and fix the furnace anymore. Diamond Heating and Cooling started coming out about a year ago. They tried EVERYTHING! Nothing worked, the furnace was a LEMON! Fast forward to yesterday. A new furnace from Diamond was ordered and it was installed yesterday. The two men that came out and installed the furnace were FANTASTIC! Very friendly, very knowledgeable, installed it in record time and explained everything to us. I wish I would have gotten their names. But one of the guys was going to retire in about a month and the other one was a young man that had been his partner for a year and a half. BOTH were exceptional workers....they even swept my floor where they had worked after they were done! And the furnace has been working wonderfully! read more

Hands down the absolute best HVAC company in the Treasure Valley! I can not say enough good things about this team! It first starts with The Legendary Ms. Laura on the phones! I called a bit panicked and I was greeted with "It's a Wonderful Wednesday here at Diamond!". She listened, asked questions and then dispatched a technician to come out immediately! She was truly the best part of my Wednesday! My situation was a bit hairy. I had a cracked heat exchange and the bids and recommendations from two other companies who weren't making the cut with customer service or knowledge and I was really starting to worry. Ms. Laura was understanding and shared that they believe in doing the right thing for the customer and they wouldn't be charging me for the second opinion and comfort guarantee bid. Which, by the way, would have been worth the price if they had! I needed the people of Diamond and they delivered honesty, integrity, and some of the best customer care I've seen in this valley period! Chris the technician came out, looked over my system and then sat down with me and went over all of his findings. He educated me on what was happening and what the next steps would be. He then paired me with the right Comfort Advisor according to my needs. The Good Robert Owen and his side-kick Cord came out the next day and much to my delight were absolutely fantastic! Robert took the time to educate me, drawing diagrams and going over the breakdowns and bids. He not only heard my concerns but did a great job meeting my client communication needs. In addition to the FANTASTIC customer support their electronic correspondence is phenomenal! I was provided with text alerts, email communication and had access to my findings and bids within minutes. Diamond will be my go to company from now on! We contacted them Thursday of last week using the Yelp request for quote when our A/C died on us in 90 degree plus heat. They responded that night and said they could have someone to us on Friday--the next day!! Unfortunately I didn't see their answer until Saturday... So back to messaging again-only this time I was going to be keeping a better eye on my messages. Sure enough, I got another response saying to call the answering service and they would get me set up for Monday. So I did and they did and Monday afternoon Jason and Caleb show up after calling to let us know they would arrive shortly. They found immediately that the capacitor needed to be replaced. After going to get one, they installed it and as I'm writing this, the temp at our bedroom vent is 59.3°F!!! So now we have 2 companies to contact and cancel our appointments with that are both scheduled for Wednesday! That was the earliest that anyone else could come. And after installing the capacitor and monitoring the system for awhile, Jason pronounced everything to be good with no further need to do anything more. I mean he could have tried to upset any number of "fixes"- top up the freon for example or saying the system needed to be replaced entirely, So in my wife's and my opinions try Diamond for your A/C needs, We certainly will. read more

I would never recommend Diamond. Our AC was essentially not functioning appropriately for a year because they were either too lazy to do their job or incompetent. Below are additional details on our experience . We were having issues with our AC so we called Diamond to have them come out. The service guy came out and did not go into the attic or crawl space and basically told us we needed a new unit and charged us a service fee. Fast forward about a month and we had a flood in our kitchen. When they went into the crawl space they noticed that one of the vents was disconnected and said we probably should have someone look at it. We called Diamond and they sent out the same technician again. This time he was extremely rude and was insulted that we said he did not do his job. He went into the crawl space and said that everything was fine and the other people didn't know what they were talking about. We finally got around to getting a new AC this summer (not with diamond) and when the company went down into the crawl space the first thing they said was that it wasn't hooked up correctly and that was probably causing some issues. read more
