Just had another AMAZING cut and color with Keith! I found Diamond Kut last year through yelp and this place definitely lives up to its positive image. I showed up with over bleached blonde hair I'd been doing myself for years and Keith fixed my crazy color and gave me gorgeous natural blonde highlights. He's a whiz! My favorite salon to go to! They have different specialist for every need. I love that they treat you like an old friend when you come in. Everyone is very nice, they make you feel very comfortable. They offer you something to drink before they start like you are a guest in their home. Sometimes you can sit in the outside patio while you wait for your hair to be done. I absolutely love this place! I found Diamond Kut about 3 years ago, first for just an eyebrow wax.. then for a haircut... then for a manicure. Now I'm hooked! Everyone is so pleasant! I got a manicure last year for a wedding I was attending and Diego said he guaranteed it to last about 2 weeks (no, I did not do a Shellac manicure.. just a regular one). Diamond Kut Salon is one of those 'hidden gems' in your neighborhood that you stumble upon and can't believe you've missed all these years. My mother in law recommended me to Clark when I moved to San Antonio... Oh, I cannot say enough good things about this place. The salon itself is in a quaint older home reminiscent of the Brady Bunch (in an awesome way). When you walk in, you feel like family. The atmosphere is very approachable and friendly. I've been seeing Teresa for about 3 years and have 3 friends who have become regular customers at Diamond Kut as well. My hair is fine and curly, and Teresa builds in perfect layers and recommends products for me to feel my best. I never have trouble booking appointments. They also sell a full range of products at prices comparable to Ulta to make it easy to re-create your style at home. I can't see myself ever going anywhere else! read more

All I have got to say is WOWEE WOW WOW WOW. I usually wait til the last minute to get my hair done, because I can, so I decided to check this hair salon out after seeing it on yelp with great reviews. I also adored the pictures of this quaint, spacious place. I called to set up an appointment and they were able to see me the SAME DAY because Kit agreed to stay later just for little ol' me (grin) ;) It was a little confusing trying to find the entrance cause there is a glass studio next door, but once I walked in I was greeted by a smiling face and then offered something to drink: wine, beer, soda, water, etc. I met the owner, Clark, and several of the staff there and they were ALL very inviting and kind. Then Kit was ready to see me and helped me decide on getting bangs (which I've NEVER had before). I felt super comfortable with him and put my hair's life in his hands...super great idea might I add. By the time he was finished, I looked in the mirror and saw the new me...and I fell in love with my reflection. Does that make me a narcissist? I don't think so, I think it makes Kit an awesome hair stylist. Well, needless to say, I'm uber happy with my hair cut and am now an official Diamond Kut fan and regular customer. THANKS GUYS!! I just moved in from out of state; have been trying to find someone to replace the hair guy I left; my hair is really thick and hard to cut just right so that it isn't sticking up in the back or on the sides. Sergio did an awesome job and now I have a new place to go to for my hair. Diego just rocks with nails, waxing and pedicures!! I am a single mom and I have neglected my feet for so long due to lack of time to take care of such things. Needless to say they were in bad shape. After five minutes they called me back and said they could fit me in. I went in for a pedicure and while i was there i asked if there was anyone who could trim my hair. To Kit, When a customer pays you 60 dollars to cut three inches off you do not cut six. The website says 30 and up, but at the end I was told it would be $60...I have very pretty hair and now mare than half of it is gone. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent at a salon. Here's the breakdown on Diamond Kut: 1) I called and got a next-day appointment, no problem. 2) Honestly, I was treated like a minor celebrity, from the word go. 3) I got an excellent haircut for $24. 4) I was offered a drink (beer, soda, wine, whatever) at check-in. 5) I asked for Sergio based on the other Yelper's comment, great call. He is indeed meticulous, true professional, and cuts you to look right from every angle - side, back, front. 6) Clark (the owner) introduced himself, exchanged pleasantries, and ensured I was well looked-after. 7) the place is a lot bigger than I imagined, and they appear to have spa facilities (massage, facials, etc). 8) I biked there, and Sergio's partner/boyfriend had me bring the bike in, rolled out the welcome mat, really made it clear that the place was top-notch. 9) more than just a haircut, Sergio goes beyond and did some man-scaping as part of the cut - tightened up the brow/ear hairs, finished the cut with a straight-razor to neck and salve, shampoo to get rid of little hairs, kept adjusting until perfect. Took care of those little things we don't notice but the ladies do. The man is bad-ass. I've come to expect the usual 'chop-shop' sheep-through-the-shearing station experience with haircuts, so my experience here was hugely refreshing and awesome. Recommend it 100%. read more

I really like this salon, the atmosphere is so friendly, and you just can't help but smile when you are there. However, I can NOT recommend a pedicure by Diego. They don't have pedi chairs - instead they are office chairs sitting up on a platform - not comfortable or relaxing at all. The foot tub is a small electric foot bath like you'd buy at walmart. Diego's apparently been there 7 years - but I certainly didn't get a good pedicure. I still have significant calluses on my toes, and more polish on my cuticles than when I do my own toes. Go to this salon for the atmosphere and the great hair cuts and hair treatments - but save your money and try another place for your pedicure. read more
