I got my nails done Friday, April 12 for my friend's wedding. I did the SNS dip powder. The nails were thick and looked lumpy, and the shape was not uniform throughout. I could deal with that though, because I liked the color and it wasn't super noticeable unless you looked closely. If that had been all, I wouldn't have left a review. But today, April 16, one of the nails fell off. I didn't hit it on anything, I am not rough on nails, it just fell off. The space looked nice but the experience was weird. She insisted on putting my sandals back on my feet before painting my toenails which I questioned multiple times. As soon as I stand up to walk to the manicure station of course my sandal strap messes up the pinky toe. I told her and she said she'd fix it later. Manicure was okay. Then I remind her about the toe and realize I'd have to wait even longer to have it dry again. It had already been 1.5 hrs. She gave me the nail salon disposable flip flops to put on while she touched up the pinky. Instead of going for the pinky, she started removing polish from the big toe and repainting it even though it wasn't messed up. So now I just have red polish smeared around the toe where the nail polish remover didn't get all the polish off when she re-did it. Somehow during all of this the staff was not very kind and I felt super awkward about it. I don't know, the whole thing was strange. I left feeling bad about the whole experience instead of good after spending $80 on a gel mani / regular pedi. Meh. read more

When I moved back to WA in December 2020 I visited Diamond Nails and had a fine experience. I went back a few times this spring/summer and each time was worse than the time before. After my last visit, I swore I would never be back. Last week I noticed a big banner on their window saying it was under 'New Management' so I thought I would give it one more try. I went last night for a pedicure and had a WONDERFUL experience. The place is MUCH cleaner and it looks like they have a lot more polishes/gels/powders than before and everything is very organized. I brought my own polish last night b/c the last time I went all of the polish bottles were almost empty and looked old and dirty. That is not the case anymore. Lisa did my pedicure and it was one of the best I've had in years. I will definitely be back. Very nice people. My friend and I went to get our nails done. I have never had this bad or an experience done. Paint all around the edges, lumps in the gel, paint was not even evenly on the nails. I hate to rate so low, because the young lady that did my pedicure did a good job, but the shop lacks SO MUCH compared to others in the area. Basins have no liners to help prevent the ever present fungal bacteria so often found in pedicure shops. How do you apply lotion on ethnic skin and wipe it completely off with a wet towel (leaving your legs dry and "cracky" within an hour of leaving. More like a generic pedicure for $25 (except for the "spa products" used). Would not go back. Heading home to moisturize my legs and feet! Never had an experience like that. read more

The experience while in the salon was great, but my actual nails were disappointing. Tommy was very talkative and funny. Their SNS price is the highest I've seen ($50 rather than the $42-$46 at most local salons). I realized 10 minutes after leaving the salon that my nails were literally attached to the skin underneath. I had to peel the excess polish from underneath my nails and had polish still on my fingers (as you can see in the pictures). I recently moved to West Ashley and was trying to find my new go-to salon, but I will definitely be trying out other salons because my overall experience at Diamond was bad. I had an appointment for my mother and I to celebrate my 30th birthday (2 pedicures and 2 SNS) -- We were asked to pick out a color and we sat for 4o minutes waiting to be called back. Finally I was told to take a seat and that my mom could sit next to me -- we assumed this meant our services would be getting started. My SNS was begun and about half way through they still had not started on my Mom -- by then my mother had been waiting over an hour for ANY service to be done. By this point we were so fed up and felt so disregarded that we decided not to continue with any of our other services for the appointment. I am most disappointed with this because I have been a consistent and loyal customer getting regular SNS done at this salon for over a year so to be treated with such little regard was just so disheartening. We did not just come in for walkins (which shouldn't mean being treated with disrespect either!) -- I had these appointments set for weeks!When we tried to speak with anyone about how disappointed we were, the manager wouldn't even speak to us or look my mother in the eye. Not 1 apology was given and the overall attitude was that they didn't care/it wasn't their problem -- Will absolutely not be returning. I will mention that during this time I was glad to see that temperatures of guests were being taken, plexiglass shields were between nail technicians and guests, and the guests were all separated to comply with social distancing. read more

Rushed pedicure and poor service. I've been twice now because someone recommended this place to me and I thought maybe my first poor experience was just a fluke. Nope. I understand that some people may be looking for quick in and out service as we live busy lives these days but I specifically told the guy (both times) that I wasn't in a hurry. My entire pedicure from star to finish was done in 11 minutes. I told him that I was there specifically because I didn't like calluses on my feet and I was hoping he could help with those. He told me calluses were good for my feet and proceeded to barely scrub with pumice stone. I understand the purpose of calluses but that's literally the reason I get pedicures is to remove calluses and have soft feet. My feet were barely exfoliated after this pedicure. I got the deluxe both times and expected extended massaging or more luxurious treatment but nope. I don't know how it was different than any other pedicure other than they put a minty mask on my legs and wrapped in a warm towel while he painted my toenails. He didn't like that I got a regular manicure and kept trying to talk me into gel or SNS. I had to put my foot down and insist on regular polish. I used to go to Diamond Nails often but seems it's under new management, I'm not sure, but I was quite dissatisfied this last go round The technician that worked on my nails (I believe his name was Henry) was downright rude. I had some residual Gel Polish from another place on my nails. As he was doing my manicure I noticed he wasn't taking off the old Acrylic he was just covering it up with new nail polish when I asked him to please take more of the old polish off to apply the new he replied" it'll be OK nobody's going to see it, you don't have to be so picky) I was appalled to say the least. Wish I could post pics of how my nails look. A different tech polished my nails after I refused to have Henry finish the manicure but just one day later it looks like I didn't even have my nails "professionally" done. I just recently moved and wanted to try a new nail salon in the area that does the SNS technique. I read reviews on a nail tech and made an appointment with him. He was nice and the salon was nice, but he did a bad job on my nails. The coating is too thick and my nails don't look natural. I'm always getting this technique on my nails at another nail salon in Summerville, but because I moved, I wanted to go somewhere closer. There was an older woman who had already been giving us dirty looks when we walked in and guess who had the pleasure of having her paint their toes.... Me, of course. She barely said anything the whole time, except when she realized I was very ticklish (which I think she found pleasure in making me suffer). Not personable AT ALL. She did not cut my cuticles and a few of my white tips are going sideways, both of which I realized when I had already left, because I was so ready to get out of there. Waited for say 10 minutes before sitting down and starting with a nice young man manicurist. It was quick, I appreciated him asking me what I wanted - full manicure or just color, and said the corresponding pricing ($35/$25)- which is so rare to have a manicurist not just assume what your wanting- so serious props for that.
