I moved to Brentwood a few years ago but have still been going to Pleasant Hill to get my nails and toes done. I ended up with some kid free time on Mother's Day and thought it would be lovely to get a pedicure since I had the hour available! And maybe I'd find a local spot that I would like so I wouldn't have to drive a distance. The pedicure itself was great. Massage was not rushed and it was very thorough. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is when I went to pay they wanted me to pay cash or credit card which was fine as I had my card on me (I don't like to carry cash on me and never do because I don't like having to go to the bank to withdraw it or having to go into a store for Cashback if I don't need to purchase anything. That's inconvenient for me plus I feel better not having cash on me.) so I paid with my card and when I asked to add tip she said they can't do tip on the card. She said it had to be in cash which again I didn't have. I asked if they take Venmo or Zelle because EVERY other nail salon I've gone to always prefers those over credit card anyways, and she had to go ask. The other lady come up and tells me that next time I need to bring cash but this one time I can Zelle her the $10 tip. It literally felt like I was being scolded and I at that point didn't even care to leave a tip after they made it seem like I was inconveniencing them for wanting to tip. Crazy. So no worries, there will not be a "next time" and I would rather travel to PH to not be scolded. read more

I tried this place today for the first time (3/19) as my regular pedicurist is currently out of town in Vietnam until mid April :(... Upon arrival I was greeted for my 12pm pedicure and the lady at the first table who greeted me seemed very kind. I waited about 8 minutes to get started, which is not a big deal to me. Once I was seated I opted for the Deluxe Pedicure--the older lady who gave me my pedicure did not speak nor greet me, her only question at some point was what color did I want. She made my pedicure experience feel extremely rushed (she was literally moving so fast) filing my toes rough, and as if she was in a hurry. At some point, I was nervous she would cut me. During my massage, she rushed with that too.........how uncomfortable. I looked around several times to see if anyone else was moving as fast as she was, and they were not. She even checked her clock at some point during the 10 minute massage. She even began to clean the pedicure bowl while my toes were still drying and wet the bottom of my pants because she was running water under me trying to rinse the entire bowl out even though my toes were still drying I would recommend coming here for a pedicure, and requesting anyone other than her--I can't speak on the nails service. But, because there are so many other shops to try--unfortunately, I will not return for my next pedi. : / read more

My manicurist tech is Le. She is very thorough, gentle, efficient, and creative. I trust Le to create floral designs to two fingers of each hand. She surprises me with her amazing & creative designs. I receive so many compliments from families, friends, neighbors, & cashiers/customers at supermarkets & retailers. Le earns a well-deserved 5*++. My tech for pedicure is Sarah! She is very knowledgeable, thorough, gentle, patient, and efficient. She recommended some fungi liquid treatment for one of my toes. Came here for the Luxury Pedicure for $70! Walked in with no reservation. Got seated in 10 minutes around 11am. I happened to stumble upon this gem after finding out another nail salon down the street I booked the night before was closed upon arrival to my appointment. Ok, no problem. The lady in charge of this place is rude!!!! We scheduled an appointment and showed up 15mins early!!! We got told in a rude way come back in 15mins! The only reason I decided to wait in the car was because I had a date with my daughters and I knew other places weren't going to be available without an appointment. Nails were crappy and didn't last long! It was a rushed appointment and felt more stressful than relaxing!! To me spa date is time for my daughters and I to have fun and bond!!! After I got moved to the manicure table I was waiting there for 10-15mins while the lady finishes my younger daughter pedicure. So while I waited I decided to go see what style of nails my other daughter was getting and the rude lady who was doing my daughters nails said to me "table 6 is over there".... So technically she asked me to sit down!!! I felt so upset but I didn't want to go nuts on her I was really close tho!!! This was supposed to be our relaxing fun time and it was totally the opposite!! Paid around $300 and it was so NOT worth it!!! I wouldn't go back to this place even if it was free! First time here I was attended by Tiffany, she was very sweet and gentle. Came in for a gel pedicure ($10) w/ the deluxe pedicure ($50) option. Came out to $60 total. I believe if you wanted to get French tip it's $5 extra just in case anyone was curious. She took her time. Diamond nail spa is nestled in a busy grocery store shopping center but we were able to find parking rather quickly. They have a huge selection of polish and gel colors which is always fun! The staff were all in masks and protocol was taken to create space between guests. I gave 4/5 stars because we did have an appointment but they seemed to have really overbooked. We stood and waited for a while to be seated for pedicures, then we sat in the pedicure chair for a while before getting water turned on in the bowl, then a bit of time before our pedicures started. And while we sat, so many other people were in the same boat so it seems that this Is a normal occurrence. Otherwise, the pedicures looked good and gel polish lasted a long time! read more

I came here for the first time and I did not feel Comfortable or satisfied with the work in any way. My whole experience was very unfortunate and I will not ever return. I walked in and was told to sit down. I asked if I can pick a color and stood for a bit. I noticed the polishes on display were mainly gel colors so I asked if she had regular polish. She handed me the nail display thing with the painted nails and again advised me to sit down. Hhhmmmm When it came my turn I told her it's hard to choose a color as I like sheers and neutrals. So she went and picked one. Again I asked can I look and it was dismissed and ignored. So the polish on my nails was her choice not mine which is so oddly bizarre! I would have left and should have but sadly didn't. The job was very rushed, she filed the top of my nails to clean cuticles there and on the surface then filed them then barely cleaned cuticle they proceeded to polish. I asked if they put lotion on she says after manicure .., hhmmm I said can you do before? She does it then proceeds to polish! I said I'd like to wash my hands first. Isn't that a given???? You can't paint wet nails! Afterwards she begins to paint them and I hung out for about 10mn to dry then she dismissed me, told me I could leave literally. Like she wanted me to GTFO' I said I'll give it a few more I don't want to ding the paint. *sigh* As she was painting my nailsI hear her tell another customer there's a slight discount fir cash payment (5%) but when it was my turn to pay I had no such offer. Seriously what's wrong with people?! This is your place of business and you lost mine! Ps another reviewer commented about waiting. Yup I waited 15mn but then she was done in 7. Walked in, no one greeted us and I had to flag someone to let them know I have an appointment. It's now 6:15 and it looks like no one is able to help us. There are four workers and everyone is busy. Diamond Nails & Spa is conveniently located near the central blvd Safeway in Brentwood. This was the first time I had ever tried it, as I frequent Buchanan Nail in Pittsburg. It was nice to try something new and closer to home! My first impression was "wow, this place looks fancy" - hence, the name. I think they do a great job with the upkeep in how they portray themselves. Equipment is up to date. It's very clean. And shoot, they have chandeliers! I also enjoyed the artwork of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Super fab. They have a great selection of spa treatments and a menu style brochure to boot. I opted for the Deluxe Spa pedicure set which includes: a spa pedicure plus callus removal, hot towels, your choice of special scrubs lavender, olive, green tea (I chose this one), jasmine, exfoliation sugar scrub, refreshing mask (?) and 8 minutes hot stone massage (they do time this) at $40. Not bad. The callus removal was definitely not included when I went, but I can vouch for everything else! For the most part it was an interesting experience with the sugar scrubs! Something that isn't included at my regular mani/pedi spot. However, I went with my sister and the overall experience was slightly tarnished when her pedicurist snipped a chunk of skin off her big toe. The bleeding actually never really subsided during the entire time we were there (2 hrs). They did everything possible to make sure that it didn't get infected, but she was in pain for at least 1.5 weeks after. I can't speak for how it feels now. Anyway, I was really concerned...I get that sometimes these things happen...and part of the reason why I've strayed away from getting any type of mani/pedis before this year...but it was a very high anxiety moment in what should have been something relaxing. Had to deduct two stars due to the inconsistency of my nails each time.. the first time I got the dip powder gel, three of my nails chipped in the corners in about two weeks. The next time I went Tiffany did my nails (highly recommend!) and none chipped, lasted three weeks. This last time I went my nails chipped after a week and after two weeks this is what it came out to. The shop is nice and clean, but I wish there was consistency in how the girls did the gel. The proper way is to paint the applicator polish in between dips, but the last time the girl painted one coat and dipped my nails three times without another application. read more

I stumbled upon this place through Yelping nail salons in my neighborhood, when I was visiting my parents. It was just a bonus that it's located right next to my favorite coffee shop (Big Beans ;) but called Saturday morning to ensure they had time for a gel mani in the afternoon. Popped in around 1:30, not tiny and crammed like many tend to be. It was actually a pretty big salon. They immediately greeted me and had my station ready. Helen was the one that helped me out that day and she was just the sweetest! Although I did not tell her anything, she handled everything with such care and carefulness (I have really bad cuticles). She took her time on each hand and did not rush one bit. She even saw I was in between two colors and asked if I wanted to see how they look on my skin (and tried them both on!).
