I'm sorry to have to write this but I went shopping for a vintage Rolex while visiting New York and called this place about a specific watch listed on their website, to ask if it was in stock. The man said yes and to come on in. I went the next day. You guessed it...I got there, they made me wait a few minutes while they sat around doing nothing and then claimed the watch had been sold last week. Then they said they don't usually let people try on their watches (lmao) but they would let me try one on. Then they wouldn't let me try on a second (an AP). For that was mind boggling-and I have to admit, a certain part of me wanted to snatch the whole thing from his hand and run away while laughing maniacally. The atmosphere at some of the other places were so high pressure I was pretty certain that they made their own diamonds by laying out a piece of coal and just letting nature do its course. You couldn't see a single inclusion. Literally not one. I thought I had a GREAT DEAL! Then after a few weeks, you could see HUGE BLACK spots in the diamond. HE SAID IT WAS JUST DIRTY (what am I stupid?) I had to take the ring back 3 times to have it properly sized. Every time he told me it would be sized correctly. Anddd it would be incorrect again and again. MASTER CON MAN. I swear he must have switched out the center stone one of those times. If that wasn't enough opportunity. How about the two times diamonds fell out of the band? On their own! Each time he explained that it was normal to happen! (His words not mine) So I took it to GIA and has a gemologist look at it. She confirmed the poor quality craftsmanship -And that it was poorly set in the setting/band. (Their were huge gaps that shouldn't have been there). Extremely poor customer service, I would not recommend purchasing anything from Diamond Source. Diamond Source was recommended by a friend so I thought I was in good hands. I experienced two issues: ONE: I was initially quoted a price for a 4mm platinum band. The price was increased twice on subsequent visits. TWO: The staff sized our rings and assured we would be satisfied. When I received the bands through the mail, mine was too large, it easily slipped off my finger. When I returned to ask for it to be resized I was told I must pay $20. Having spent a considerable amount for my initial purchase, I believe they should be focused on making certain my ring was delivered correctly. THEIR EXCUSE: I was told that they had to pay the jeweler (which is their own Diamond Source factory). I was also told that many people return for re-sizing due to climate change and weight gain I however had just purchased this ring, sized by Diamond Source staff, and clearly it was too large to stay on my finger (the re-sixing was a full half size less). I could not be more dissatisfied with the service I received. Scam merchant. They lied to me about return policy. Said it was "30 Day Money Back Guarantee" then switched it later by pointing out they had fine print that said returns only if appraised value is less. They even have a sign that says "30 Day Money Back Guarantee" and then in tiny tiny font underneath is the appraised value blurb. They know no one would buy from them if their return policy is only based on appraised value. So they misrepresent their return policy up front blatantly. Mind you they can reject the appraised value or claim to not agree so really they have no return policy. Sellers like these need to be kicked out by the rest of the honest Diamond district dealers. My experience with this merchant could not have been worse only because they never placed my order so I never received the watch I had planned on purchasing from this establishment. I like to get everything in writing so I emailed Diamond Source requesting a quote on a Rolex watch and they emailed me back the quote rather fast, mind you this quote was over 500.00 more than I had been verbally quoted from an associate at this store (this is why everything must be in writing) only three weeks prior to my requesting the quote in writing. Less than two business days later I placed an email order for the Rolex watch stating exactly what I wanted, the billing information, credit card information, shipping information, etc. My order email could not have been more detailed and spelled out. I waited (2) business days and I did not get an email reply back from Diamond Source acknowledging that they had received the email order. Mind you, Diamond Source had received the 4 or so emails I had sent them when we were emailing back and forth about the quote, ironic the only email they did not receive was the "order email".
