I had to share my experience because I truly wish I had come here from the very beginning…read more Jangmi was actually the first place I went to when I started ring shopping. I wanted to see a variety of designs, shapes, and settings--and they had so many beautiful options to try on. The experience was warm, helpful, and not overwhelming at all. However, I ended up going with another jeweler a few stores down because my boyfriend had a connection there. The moment I received my ring, I immediately regretted not choosing Jangmi. The ring I got was nothing close to what I had asked for. The prongs were bent, and I had specifically requested a higher setting so that a wedding band could sit flush--but none of my bands (even very thin ones) sat properly. I brought it back and asked for multiple fixes. To his credit, he did make adjustments for free, but when I received the ring the second time, it still didn't match my vision at all. What I wanted was simple and classic: a 6-prong setting with tall, straight prongs (similar to the Tiffany style) and small claw tips. Instead, the ring was still not high enough, and the prongs were extremely thick--both from the top and side view--which completely took away from the beauty of the diamond. At that point, I was honestly so frustrated and ready to give up. But I remembered how positive my initial experience at Jangmi was, so I decided to reach out and ask if they could reset my ring. Even though the previous jeweler was willing to keep making changes for free, I didn't feel comfortable going back. I would much rather pay for something done right. And I am SO glad I did. Jangmi had the exact design I had been envisioning all along. Mrs. Kim was incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. She had a wax model made for me to try on before finalizing the ring, which made such a huge difference. Seeing and wearing the design in person gave me so much confidence--honestly, I preferred this so much more than just looking at CAD images, which can be hard to interpret if you're not in the industry. Within just two weeks, my ring was exactly what I had dreamed of from the start. The craftsmanship, the proportions, the setting--everything was perfect. My biggest regret is not coming to Jangmi Jewelry from the beginning. But one thing I can promise is that I will absolutely be coming back here for my wedding bands. If you're even thinking about going here--just do it. You won't regret it!

He also intentionally adds on additional charges without confirming with the customer, that was fine with me, but at least provide the service you charged for. Global Gold and Silver is a true Gem in the Diamond District that's riddled with synthetics or as some New Yorker's call Fugazi's. I checked the reviews before I went into the district to gain some insight as to who were the most reputable and made a list. After reading plenty of reviews I saw that Global Gold and Silver had some great reviews so I decided to put them to the test by making them the last stop to see if their reputation matched their reviews. I was looking to sell some pieces and it's an unethical highly competitive market down there. If you've had something appraised don't expect anything near that price from a jeweler making an offer, remember they're in business and need to cover their expenses and overhead plus profit. I made Global Gold and Silver my last stop on my list so they wouldn't be bidding against themselves if I had to return due to them being the best offer. Boy am I glad I did that!! The gentleman I dealt with was Oshri Reuven. He's extremely forthcoming and informative about his business he's also a Gemologist and has all he needs right at his desk to appraise gems right in front of you. He's also very honest during his process and willing to pay fair market value. He explains if you have commercial stones in your pieces that causes them to have less value. He goes into detail about the pieces being dated and not sought after or poor quality. He also isn't hesitant to tell you what's good about the pieces you've presented to him. I knew everything he was telling me was true because I talked to almost a dozen jewelers prior to sitting down with him. The biggest difference was he was willing to pay a fair price, rather than these unscrupulous characters I visited previously who were making ridiculously low offers. What makes Global Gold and Silver special is that they're not greedy like the rest of the competition down there. Oshri is there for the long haul and is looking to do good business and establish long term clients. I've been to see him twice already. The first time I walked all over the neighborhood and wasted a lot of time, the second time I went straight to his location first thing in the morning. While I was there I asked him about a few bad reviews I saw on Yelp since they completely contradicted my personal experience. After speaking with my daughter, she told me she was never going to wear any of my jewelry, because she dislikes all jewelry (how can this child be related to me!). Therefore, I decided to research jewelers with whom I would eventually conduct the business of selling off some of my pieces. I came upon Global Gold & Silver, I initially spoke with Joyce and she was terrific, made me feel at ease and that this was the place for me. Made the appointment, Joyce confirmed our appointment the day prior. On the day of my meeting with Oshri, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical and apprehensive. First, the office is in a building, on the 12th Floor, which was a positive and negative in my mind, (off the hectic and insanely crowded jewelry district streets, but on the 12th floor, meaning I would have to take an elevator!)!! Upon arriving, the atmosphere was quiet, comfortable and very relaxing!!! I finally met Joyce in person, and she and another lovely young lady offered my husband and I a beverage (water, coffee, cappuccino....really!) All the dread leading to the moment quickly melted away. While Oshri was not in the office at the time of our appointment, he showed up within minutes. I was completely impressed with him. Both my husband and I felt comfortable, Oshri was a consummate professional and I honestly believe he gave us a very fair price on the designer jewelry we sold him. I will definitely be going back!, not only to sell off a few more pieces, but am already planning to purchase a piece from Oshri! So I have a jewelry box at home filled with jewelry of all kind, gold, silver, costume jewelry..you name it, I have it! Over the years I've lost pieces, have lots of mismatched jewelry and decided to do some "Fall" cleaning. The reviews floored me and I knew this was the place I had to go to. The following day after work, I found the building with no problem as they do give you traveling directions and met with Amit Patel( really nice guy!) in an office(not some cubicle or shady hole in the whole) and he explained the process of checking the gold, whether it's 10k or 14k..anyway the entire process was about 20 minutes long and once again I was floored when Amit told me the amount of the pieces of gold!! OMG!!! is all I can say!!! I worked with both Elad and Amit on two separate occasions, and both were outstanding. I brought in jewelry for both appraisal and to sell. Elad was very honest with the appraisal and I greatly appreciated his detailed explanation of what happens to those heirloom pieces once they are purchased (they are melted down and any valuable stones are re-purposed). It helped me explain to a family member why they were valued at a specific price and why I would purchase the pieces from that family member if they would not want them. The cash given to me for the gold and silver I sold was the amount I was expecting. I worked with Amit when I came back a second time with the appraised jewelry to have one ring cleaned and another re-sized larger. Both rings are white gold, diamond rings. The ring I had re-sized is a circa 1910 cocktail ring in white gold with a small diamond. It was explained to me that I would more than likely have to pay for more gold as the band was worn down. I was completely astounded when I received the ring back. The goldsmith had added the gold to the band and worked to restore the filigree. It looks stunning. The ring was also cleaned and rhodium plated along with the other ring. It was worth every penny (and it was NOT expensive) to see my grandmother's jewelry restored. I was referred to Oshi through my brother. I had alot of old gold and silver that I wanted to sell and he said he could be trusted. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and helpful everyone was and they gave me an excellent price for my jewelry. I met his father and his brother and they made me feel very comfortable and made me laugh. I left after my first trip extremely happy. By the second time I went in, he knew me by my first name. The whole staff is extremely nice and knowledgeable when it comes to all jewelry, especially diamonds. I have been there many times now and would not consider any other jeweler. I have referred friends and they all feel the same. Oshi made silver military tags for my girlfriend and her brother and sister, she had her fathers old military tag and he took that made a mold and made them all their own tags. I was pleasantly surprised how easy, comfortable and professional Oshri the owner of Global Gold &Silver runs his business here in NYC! I work in the service industry and It's not every day you walk in a place for the first time and get perfect service. I have never had a need to sell any type of jewelry so when it was time, Global Gold & Silver was the first thing I saw on my phone while riding the subway to the diamond district. As soon as I got off on 6th ave at 47th street I was bombarded by these loud bartering sales guys screaming "Got Gold need money"? But I kept my stride and headed to 45th street. Once on the block, there were no hagglers on the block at 10 am! I found the building, much to my surprise no jewelry or "Buy & Sell" signs no where. I've been selling my father's collection of silver and gold coins in various lots and after careful comparison-shopping, have found I consistently get the best prices, accurate quotes, and cash-on-the-spot, from Global. I sold my deceased dad's gold bracelet to Global for the highest percentage of its pure-gold value of any jewelry or gold dealer who'd been shown it. Global's staff says they'll pay top dollar and they did. None of the too-typical coin-dealer games here. I do not hesitate to recommend them with the highest compliment I can: - They have behaved honestly, honorablly, are accurate and paid me the top prices they had promised. Maybe I could get better deals in Europe, but I live here, and Global is where I bring my valuables to sell, direct from my safety-deposit box. This place is a small office with no display cases or expensive decor; they have scales, computers, calculators, some chairs and desks, and money to spend. After a few horrendous experiences attempting to sell some of my very expensive watches ($30-40k range each) on 47th street in the Diamond District, I did some online research and the favorable reviews prompted me to give Global Gold & Silver a try. I met with Oshri who was a refreshing departure from the totally rude and untrustworthy 47th street counterparts. Friendly, professional, and transparent. He gave me an honest assessment of my watches and what I could realistically expect to sell them for. I wanted to sell a gold coin that I had been holding for some time. I called Global a few hours before heading over after searching internet and spoke with Oshri. I have never heard of these guys and don't know them except for this single experience. Oshri quickly researched (presumably Ebay) and was very candid about what he could pay for the coin. He intelligently justified his offer even though it was lower than the "buy it now" listings on Ebay. On my way I walked over the 47th Street where I became quickly frustrated as merchants quizzed me on how much I wanted and I had a hard time getting straight answers. At Global, Oshri was inviting, even for a small transaction of a single gold coin. He paid me exactly what he said, (which the other merchants on 47th Street bet he would not), and he was a very professional businessman throughout the process. I have to say I was a bit nervous going to a jewelry place. I've heard bad things about not being able to trust this type of establishments. This was an exceptionally professional establishment. Maurice was amazing. He took his time to appraise all the jewelry that I brought in and the silverware as well. Thankfully he explained why certain things have value and certain other things didn't. He was patient and he even gave me a glass of water. I was able to sit down and we had a nice conversation. I even got chocolate. It was wonderful. I got a very fair price for my watches and I'm definitely going to go back. If you are concerned about finding a place that you can trust for all your silver gold and jewelry needs, don't worry you can go to Global. It was my first time selling gold jewelry in NYC and I came here based on the many positive Yelp reviews this place had received recently. We found the building, went in and took the elevator to the 12th floor. We felt quite nervous about selling things like this for the first time but we didn't need to be. I had things sorted into groups of what I really could let go of and what I wasn't sure I wanted to let go of. Everyone there made us feel comfortable. We sat down with Elad who explained everything he was doing. He didn't rush me to make a decision. Once he told me what everything was worth he gave me the time to decide what to do. We discussed a few possibilities and I chose the best option for me. I even changed my mind at one time and he was very patient. My wife and I met with Oshri to sell several pieces of gold and silver. This was our first experience doing so, and Oshri went out of his way to provide his background (over 20 years in the business and a certified gemologist in addition to his family. (His father was a diamond cutter). Oshri went into detail explaining the process, measured our jewelry in front of us, and gave us specifics regarding the value of our jewelry. I was pleased with the process and the amount received, but more important, I was impressed and felt comfortable with the reasoning and the honesty behind the money received. I have made two visits in the last three months to Global Gold & Silver in Scotch Plains, NJ. My first visit I was not sure what to expect and was a little apprehensive. I had never sold any gold or silver jewelry. I did make an appointment since I did have quite a few pieces that I wanted to sell. When I got there Chris was waiting for me. He explained the process of checking the gold for 10K, 14K and 18K. He checked each piece and told me what is was. I also had a few rings with stones and he told me what they were. I had a great experience recently with Elad and David. I've never sold gold and silver before but I am moving out of the country and wanted to unload as many things as possible. I had been accumulating old gold and silver jewelry -- broken chains, rings, lost pairs over the years and didn't know what to do with them. Both of them were very professional, non-judgmental and immediately made me feel comfortable. They'll examine the pieces, test the metals for their purity and grade them accordingly.
