if you are going to bugger up the screw holes at least screw the screws all the way in
    Nick P.

I have an International semi-truck that I've brought in for service over the years. I would never describe the shop as a great value, but typically the work was pretty decent. Recently, I brought my truck in for some transmission work. They gave me an estimate of around $12,500 and said it would be done in a week. That's a lot of money for me, but I needed the truck fixed, so I gave them the go-ahead. I called the day they said it would be done and told them I would pick it up on Monday. They said there was another minor wiring issue that would take less than an hour, and it would probably be less than they had originally quoted. I was happy about that and reiterated that I would pick up the truck on Monday. I got busy, and Tuesday rolled around, so I called just to make sure it was done. They said, "Not yet." I said, "Okay, no big deal, but I need the truck Friday to take a load." They said, "No problem." Thursday rolled around, and I went to pick up the truck. I settled the bill, which was over $2,500 more than I had approved. Then, they pulled the truck around, and it looked like it had been reassembled by a kindergartener. Most of the screws that were factory-installed when I dropped it off had been replaced by self-tapping screws, many of which weren't even screwed in all the way. There were huge gaps in the dash panels, and the trim for the carpet... I can't even begin to explain what they did. The kicker is the passenger-side window was down and wouldn't roll up. I got the service writer, and they told me, "Oh yeah, it was like that when it came in. I forgot to tell you it needs a regulator, which is a $2,000 part, plus labor." I was livid. I can't even believe they would try to give my truck back in that condition after spending that amount of money and taking twice as long as promised. The service manager promised to make it right. We will see what happens, but my concern is that if this is what I can see, what does the work I can't see look like?

Lucas Berry was a pleasure to deal with when trying to source a 26k 2 axle truck that would be upfitted to have a stakebed. He went above and beyond during the sale process and was quick to get me a quote and for an International MV and it came in under the price of the comparable Freightliner. On top of things I felt the International had a more updated cab exterior and interior with electronic console. Lucas met me at the nearest Westrux and arranged for me to test drive a comparable model, was having a hard time deciding between what engine to pick and what the different seat configurations looked like. He also had a comparable build that I was able to look at to get a better idea of how I wanted to upfit. After ordering the truck I was provided 3 truck upfitters he's used before and he actually even went direct to them to get some bids for the bed. We weren't going through Westrux so there wasn't a markup on them, he was just trying to help with the purchase. The prices he got on stake bodies were cheaper or comparable to people I've already reached out to. Trying to select who I wanted to work with I was able to call the upfitters directly or Lucas would jump in to have any questions answered regarding axle to cab distances or whatnot. Very helpful. After I made my choice during the build process Lucas was involved as the truck had a long lead time and the upfitter started the build before the truck was in so dimensions had to be confirmed. When the truck came in he arranged to have it dropped off at American Truck Body without needing my involvment and made it convenient for me to sign any paperwork needed as well. Even after having the upfitter complete the build, he brought the truck back to his shop to do a once over and had it detailed prior to final delivery. An absolute pleasure to work with. Reach out to him directly if you want the white glove treatment. Lucas Berry New and Used Truck Sales Westrux International, Inc. 2200 E. Steel Rd. About 4-5 months ago, I bought a pre owned 2022 Isuzu NRR diesel, from Rush Peterbilt in Fontana for my business. I am based out of lake Elsinore/south Corona area. Location wise for me, Freeway Isuzu is the closer option, rather than driving to Fontana for parts. I gave this place benefit of the doubt and still called anyways last week, they definitely didn't disappoint. He was rude from the beginning with a bad tone in his voice and due to not having my VIN on hand, I was given bad customer service and told he can't help me. I was only looking for maintenance filters, assuming they have many in stock and VIN shouldn't be an issue but according to him it was. I asked to speak to a manager, and he said he was. As a business owner myself, I would be ashamed to have him in charge of a whole department. Never met the guy in person but that's a bad look. I will never do business with this place and never recommend anyone to get parts from here, as long as he's in charge or employed here. I instead drove the 30 minutes farther to Rush in Fontana and received my parts with 100% better customer service and will continue to give them my business. I hope the owner and/or management will do something with this and better that place. It's a shame, how one person can change the face of a business. I'm sorry but this had to be said. Remember these are used vehicle sellers. All they want is your money and they do not worry about repeat business. Get your mileage in writing. They will not put it on your documents. Ask for a BIT inspection before purchase or the last BIT report the vehicle had. Ask for the life on the brakes and if you are purchasing a manual transmission the clutch like. If they say they cannot know they are not telling the truth. It can be measured and seen on the semi truck. If the truck is from the east coast or anywhere with lots of snow look for rust. New tires mean nothing. If the tires are worn deduct money cause you can buy them elsewhere for cheaper. Does the truck or equipment have a service history? If they said no then don't buy it. Cause BIT inspections and service records are important for DOT and MCP. Later model? Does not matter. Anything the sales person says is covered get it in writing spelled out. These guys are just looking to move it out. Just remember freightliner trucks are cheapest trucks. Low quality and cheap low grade parts. Gives the USA a bad name. If you have an experience driver test the truck make sure he runs it through it pace cause 100 miles or 1000 miles it will breakdown or need service. Also do not let the dealership work on it. Rip off city. All they need to do is just mention one thing and boom thousands in repairs. It use to be 300k in miles was nothing but the way they service or build it you need to check it out every 10k. Anything with wear and tear check it out. Look at the belt, bolts anything that looks too clear is a red flag. Don't ask the sales person for advice. All they will do is agree or tell you want you want to hear.
