I special ordered a ring I seen in their showcase that was stolen when they got broken into. They assured me it would be the same ring, but when it arrived it was not. I did not like it, but they didn't give me any hassle and gave me a great deal for only a couple hundred dollars more on a ring that had a price tag of about $1000 more than the one I ordered, so I was very happy and my wife loves her ring. The ring has many small diamonds and on three occasions they have fallen out and there has been no problem dropping the ring off with them for the day to get new diamonds installed at no additional charge (they warrantee their rings and diamonds for as long as you own the ring). I wish I had never taken my ring here. My fiancé proposed with his grandmother's wedding ring. She had recently passed away and I was very hesitant to take her ring just anywhere to have it resized so I looked at reviews and found this place. They had a lot of great reviews so I asked my fiancé if we could bring it here and he agreed. Marie was very friendly and assured us they would do as little to alter it as was possible. She mentioned having it deep cleaned and rhodium dipped. I'm not familiar with the process, but she assured us everything would be fine. We left it there on a Monday and received a text Wednesday that it was ready. We go pick it up and we walked out (with no mention of any messages/ warnings from the jeweler) when I noticed there was a diamond missing from the band. We went back inside and Marie said that it was strange because she and two other people inspected it before telling us it was ready. Luckily, they were able to locate the missing diamond in the envelope they stored my ring in. She said I'd have to come back Friday. This was incredibly inconvenient as we live 30 minutes away and yet she offered us no kind of compensation for our time or their unprofessionalism. Come Friday I get a text that it is once again ready for pick up. When she is giving it back to me she explains to me that NOW the jeweler wanted her to tell me that I need to be EXTREMELY careful with this ring because the diamonds are just sitting in the settings with nothing holding them in place and that even bumping my ring/hand on something could cause a diamond to fall out. Right. So the ring that I just wore morning, noon, and night for an entire week prior to bringing it in to this place, the same ring my fiancé's grandmother wore for 50 years prior to passing it on to me, is so delicate and fragile that a diamond could fall out by even bumping it against everyday items? I would also like to point out that she was wearing this ring when she was killed in a high speed car accident and yet all of the diamonds stayed in place. Sounds to me like their jeweler would rather make excuses than to take responsibility for his poor craftsmanship. We are now going to have to take the ring somewhere else to ensure that the diamonds are in fact properly secured after this fiasco and pay whatever that will cost on top of the $200 we paid to have it resized here at Diamonds by Monet.
