Do not recommend purchasing from this location with their advertised price not being represented correctly on their listings, with "dealer installed items" being added to the price of the vehicle but not outlined on the purchase agreement. Bought a "new" old stock 2023 Grand Cherokee L in January. Unable to take delivery of it that same day due to a battery tester being down and would have to come back Monday to pick it up. I was not able to go pick the vehicle up with my wife, but she called me on the way home and told me something didn't feel right with the vehicle. It has been nothing but issues ever since we took delivery of the vehicle, it has now been out of service 45+ days. We could tell right away this vehicle was plagued with issues and asked them to take the vehicle back and give us back our perfectly good Mazda that had 0 issues. Of course they declined, and wouldn't you know it, look what they advertise: the advantage plan. Photo attached Apparently good business practices with customer satisfaction are not at the top of their list, otherwise they would have done the right thing from the very beginning. Will absolutely not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle here. The service department has been absolutely amazing though, trying to fix this vehicle is not their fault, it had no business making it to the front line and being sold. It is a lemon. Blair in service is fantastic and has been in constant communication with me. Abigale, our sales person was also great, but working in a department that lacks ethics and integrity.

I wish I could give this company no stars. First of all I arrived on a day the head owner was not…read morethere. The employee that helped me that day agreed with me on a price of a 2001 pontiac grand am. The employee also told me that I was allowed to take the vehicle to a mechanic to get it checked out. It was near closing and I told him I would be back the next morning to take it to AAA. It was all great and I felt comfortable until the next day. That next afternoon the head owner was there and was very short and rude with me. He told me that the employee I spoke with the pervious day was new and did not know what he was talking about. So I did not get to take the car to my mechanic and the head owner tried to pull the price up by another $500. He said that I was only able to drive it down the street. I also asked for the Carfax and he said they didn't have that but that he would have someone send him a paper statement of the cars history (which never came). I basically had to argue with him to at least let me go to the Autozone near HWY 52 to do the system check they do. Autozome was first shocked by how clean the engine was so that drew a red flag. Also there was a problem with the check engine light, Autozone said that those repairs were not that bad and that I could wait a while until I needed them repaired. I took the benefit of the doubt and went back to purchase this vehicle. I paid around 2900 for the vehicle. Later to find out it was a piece of scrap metal. Also the process to get the title and plates was a nightmare. I am not sure if the owner forgot about doing his job or if he was lazy. He said that my plates and title would be in the mail around 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and finally over a month went by without my plates or title. I finally went back to this company and demanded my money back for the title and plates and went to the DMV to do it myself. I was furious!!!! Since the purchase in March I have put in over $1500 in repairs. I replaced all tires which were bare ($400), had to get a tune up and fix my oxygen sensor problem-spark plugs replaced-coolant exchange-3step fuel system clean... which was over ($800), both front window motors ($50), The suspension rod was broken and needed to get it aligned ($300), headlights and windshield wipers ($40), and the shocks on the rear replaced ($100 for the pair). This has been the biggest mistake I have made buying a car and I would love to help prevent everyone else from making that same mistake. Again I hated this place and it is a scam! Don't buy from Universal motors!

So they are great to deal with, front-of-house and back-of-house (to use restaurant lingo). They greet everyone cheerfully, and they do fantastic work. Granted, my 'job' was among the easiest for a shop like this. But they took my spare off, locked it beneath the vehicle, and had the newly-repaired tire installed with the exact PSI. Rave reviews.

I have come to the Carnes locations THREE different times to have a slow leak on a warrantied tire…read morechecked. The first time I was told 5 hours, or I could leave it with them. I asked, "Just for a leak check?" She replied, "That's what happens when you're the best." That is cocky and overconfident. It was a Friday (5/22) afternoon. I went down the road to Pit Stop and they found the leak within 10 minutes of my arrival, but it was a nail near the sidewall. With a warrantied tire, I needed Gerald's to do the work otherwise pay full cost for a tire. I called the following Monday and the guy I spoke with was dismissive, saying that it was a rare Friday and they got bombarded. He cut me off several times while I was explaining what happened then told me to come back either Friday or Saturday and it wouldn't be so bad. I went yesterday (5/29) and was told it would be a 4 hour wait yet again. I loudly told them that their "excellent" customer service means nothing if I can't get service at all. Nobody should have to wait so long for a leak check, even if it leads to a tire replacement. That should be a quick thing. I went again this morning, arriving at 8:30 (they open at 8). I was told it would be 1 hour and 40 minutes (roughly). Okay, still not thrilled with that. I have NEVER had to wait like that at Gerald's for such a simple issue. At 10:30, my car was still sitting there untouched. I asked for an update, and was told 15-20 minutes and they would have it in the bay. Frustrated, I rolled my eyes and sighed. The lady, unapologetically and slightly sarcastically, replied "Sorry." 32 minutes later, at 11:02, they finally pulled it back. At 11:11, the tech came to tell me what I had already told them at check-in (that it had a nail, up against the sidewall, etc). They would have to use a similar tire as they didn't have the same one available. Fine, let's get it done. $10.95 is the cost. At 11:32, they finally pulled the car up and dropped the keys at the front desk. I walked up, she completed the total, charged me, provided me an itemized receipt, and that was it. No apologies for the long wait time. No apologies for anything. No offer to make it better. Just "there's a free car wash in the envelope." Like I stated, you can have the best warranties and service around but it all means very little if I can't get in to get service to begin with. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but I refuse to patronize them again. There is plenty of competition available that I can use with much faster service. Sad, really, that this is what Gerald's has become. TLDR: If you can waste most of your day on the simplest of services, or if you are able to drop your vehicle and leave it for the day or longer, then this place is for you. If you need a simple thing done quickly, look elsewhere.
