The in person dinIng was amazing...clean, expedient, and excellent food. I decided to order delivery because of my lack of mobility. After 1 1/2 my food had not been delivered through DoorDash. Spoke with Louis the manager and also someone that may have been an owner. They offered to remake my food and deliver it personally. They went above and beyond to make sure I got what I ordered. This place just has really good barbecue. It's located kind of in a small strip mall but it's well worth getting the three plate meal.

The owner convinced me to try the ribs again and I was pleasantly surprised. They were seasoned just right and they literally fell off the bone. Decent BBQ joint in Eagan if you can find it. It is kind of off the road in a more industrial part of town which makes it an odd choice to find in such a place. Because of the location though, it is not super crazy busy during the lunch or dinner hour so that you can get in and out fairly quickly. Staff are always on point and serve you quickly and efficiently. Dickey's always gives you plenty of food for the price and their sides never disappoint. I especially like the waffle fries and loaded smashed potatoes. Their chopped brisket is great and is always a good first option for a meat platter. Of course, nothing beats free ice cream which you can find at this location as well. Dickey's isn't my favorite fast casual BBQ joint out there but it fits the bill when I am craving some good Texas brisket and BBQ. read more

Erin and the guys always give us excellent service. We try to hit the place up every Sunday so that my son and I can get some barbecue, the barbecue is always on point for what we get. My son loves sitting next to the fireplace, this is one of the only Dickies locations I've seen that even has ice cream anymore. I understand the pickles not being a thing with the excuse of covid. But all of these other Dickies restaurants in the surrounding areas and used it as an excuse to get rid of all the good things. Just came here from the Saint Paul location sorely disappointed and still hungry. This location showed me why I'll keep going to Dickey's! Ordered the one meat platter with brisket and double onion tanglers. Everything was amazing! The roll came out fresh and we were brought an item to the table that was still cooking when we ordered. We just visited here yesterday for my annual birthday coupon for classic sandwich. You can pick your meat and I decided on brisket. My wife got 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs with 2 sides. My all time classic is fried okras and waffle fries. Both are made fresh and fried as you are ordering. Just a few minutes and it comes out piping hot. Also, the free pickle with your meal is an added bonus. My wife hates them so I ate almost 2. Plus, you get a soft serve ice cream at the end of the meal. Dickey's, unlike the other "barbecue" joint, hasn't gone down the tubes. They have made changes and improvements that are noticeable. We recently got two family meals there in one weekend, such is our love for this place. We got the brisket on Friday and had never seen brisket like this from them before. It was AMAZING! Tender and juicy, with the right amount of fat. We almost arm wrestled for it, and were glad that the Boy didn't want any. He's a rib and pulled pork kind of guy. I don't usually eat beans that aren't black and in a burrito, so it takes a lot for me to eat them. Well, these beans are certainly good for my heart! They weren't too mushy and had a really good flavor, without being too sweet or too anything else. The mac and cheese was super tasty, too, and caused a bit of a rift between the two males in the house. They both wanted to eat the entire large side by themselves. So, I had a literal spoonful and let them have the rest. On the second trip of the weekend to Dickey's we got the ribs (always a staple) and the chopped pork. If Yelp has rules about swearing in reviews, I'm about to violate them because DAMN! this was some fantastic meat. We've always loved the ribs because they're done right and don't even need sauce. The pork was entirely too easy to eat. It was smoky and not dried out. It soaked up the sauce and was great on the little buns that they give you with your meal. Speaking of which, we could have used a couple dozen of those bad boys! If you're looking for an exercise in futility, try to resist the food here. You will fail deliciously. I saved up all of my caloric intake on both days for these meals because they're worth it and there was no way in Hades that I'd eat only a little bit. While they might use "a little bit of this, and a little bit of that" to make their food go down so easily, there's no way you can eat just a little bit of it. The service at this location is always good, too, whether you eat in or take out. We are glad that Dickey's is close. The food here is also an excellent value, as you get well more than your money's worth. We will be back soon, though not soon enough. read more

Love the pulled pork. Ribs have great a great bark. Not a huge fan of the BBQ chicken or the turkey breast. Beef Brisket is satisfactory. Spicy Cheddar Sausage is not bad but a little goes a long way. The original BBQ sauce is really pretty good. The Spicy is OK and the Sweet is too sweet for me. While the meats are reasonably portioned, the sides seem a bit paltry and I find uneven in quality. Waffle fries are excellent (but cool off in a hurry). Cole slaw is decent. Mac & Cheese is OK but not as good as it looks. Fried okra is not bad if you're into that. The Baked Potato Casserole is nothing special. The Fried Onion Tanglers are greasy but tasty. The Dill Potato Salad is very good and would be great at a picnic. The regular Barbecue Beans are fine but the Jalapeno Beans lack bite.. Skip the free pickles. I thought they had an off taste. Maybe they'd just sat unrefrigerated in the jar too long. A tip (at least at the Eagan location): An off-menu item that's worth asking for is the Brunswick Stew. It has a savory mix of BBQ meats and beans in it and would be perfect comfort food on a sub-zero winter night. read more

I'm going right in the middle for this one because I'm not sure exactly what to think. I love Dickey's, and I think they have great BBQ. Pulled pork? Awesome! The brisket? Life changing. However the quality here seems to be a crapshoot. The yeast rolls are so tasty, when they are fresh and warm. 75% of the time they are half dried out and hard. :( The brisket is usually good (so, so good) but probably 25% of the time it seems dry, overcooked, and tasteless. So the odds of getting that perfect sandwich with soft warm bread and moist delicious brisket seem to be less and less in my favor. I'm almost at the point that I don't want to risk it any more because it feels like I'm throwing my money away at the ever lessening chance for great food, but that sense memory of those perfect days is hard to fight. read more

My wife and I had a coupon for $20 worth of stuff at Dickey's. They had just opened up in Plymouth, but ours was for Eagan, so we trekked to the southern suburb and the establishment was inside a strip mall on the way down to Rochester. We entered and the first thing on our left hand side was a free soft serve machine. I knew they had Michelle hooked. Behind the counter were a few large smoking machines and other contraptions of grandeur. They had a ton of good stuff on the menu. Bakers (Baked Potatoes), ribs, chicken, pork, etc. I ordered the $10 double meat plate with 2 sides and a roll. Not a bad price for some seriously awesome BBQ. Plus, they have free pickles and soft serve. And they aren't little tiny pickles, they are the huge, dollar jar pickles you sometimes see. Scrumptious. I love those. I seriously had 4 of them. They have 3 different sauces. An original BBQ, a sweet, and my favorite, Hot and Spicy! Ohhhh...So good. Plus their pop is a large 32 oz. cup they call the big yellow cup. If you go to their website, you can get a free one sent to your email. So finally, the food. The pulled pork was mild, but sweet. I put tons of hot and spicy sauce on it and it was delectable. The brisket was moist, a little fatty, but I don't have brisket often, so it might supposed to be like that. Now the jalapeno beans. These were amazing! Thick beans, I didn't see any jalapenos in them, but the flavor was teetering on the line of spicy and almost too spicy, if that is possible (It's not) I gave my wife my roll and she liked it a lot. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the potato salad. Kind of just ....there. Not bad. Not good. Just calories. Overall, the food was amazing, the service was nice for a fast food place, the guy chopping the meat seemed to really like his job and he greeted every customer as they walked in the door and said good bye to about half of them when they left. The free pickles were fantastic and my wife loved the free soft serve ice cream. I think Dickey's is going to a big hit as they enter the Twin Cities. Plus, I was full after half my meal, could have been the 4 gigantic pickles, and my wife doesn't eat much, so I also have 2 left over full, huge meals for the next few days. I went here with my siblings with the $20 gift certificate we purchased off of LivingSocial.com. The location is a little hidden, but MapQuest or your navigation system should be able to find the place just fine. We went a little after 1 or 2 on a Wednesday and there was a good amount of people who were still there for lunch. It took us a little while to decide what we wanted on the menu, but Mark (I think that was his name) was awesome in helping us decide. He came out from behind the counter asked us if we had any questions on the menu, and offered us a sample of their new spicy cheddar smoked sausage (which was deeeeeeelicious!). Between the three of us we all got the beef brisket, mac&cheese, coleslaw, waffle friends, fried onion petals, half a slab or ribs, jalapeño baked beans, potato casserole (which I thought was just like a fancy mashed potatoes). I sampled a little of everything and if you're like me I can't eat any kind of meat that's dry and most BBQ meats are (from previous restaurants that I have been to). But NOTHING about the ribs, the smoked sausage, or beef brisket was dry. My favorites were the fried onion petals, mac and cheese, baked beans, and ribs. There's a station right by where you paid where they have a giant jar for free jumbo pickles, silverware, napkins, and three different BBQ sauces to choose from. And on your way out, there's a table to your right where you can get free soft served ice cream in a cup, bowl, or a cone. Did I mention that it was FREE??? this is a really great option to use for catering a wedding. This is also great for a graduation. The meats are very juicy. They have great sides to select from. They also have full service catering. My personal favorite is the pulled pork sandwich. I like to add coleslaw, pickles, and onion on top of the pulled pork. I have tried a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw for a sandwich at other barbecue locations and it has never been as flavorful as dickeys barbecue. This location has great staff. Just finished a terrific party for 75, catered by Dickey's. Pulled pork and chicken breast cooked and seasoned well, with choices of spicy and original BBQ sauce. Food was hot and in easy-to-handle aluminum trays. Delivery (to a somewhat tricky address) was exactly on time. Three good sides (mac & cheese, Caesar salad, and potato salad-which was stellar). Catering includes plates, flatware, napkins, and extra serving utensils, which may seem small until you start adding the marginal cost (and headache) of adding them yourself.
