Stopped here on a Sunday for lunch. It wasn't too busy but had some people coming in for takeout from time to time. Me and my sister both got soul bowls and my mom did wings and ribs and a side of dill potato salad. The bowl was good, but my sister and I agreed that next time we would probably build our own and leave the Mac and cheese out. The bbq sauces were good. My mom loved the ribs & dill potato salad. She didn't care for the wings. We all agreed it was good enough to come back to try a bit more of the menu options. There wasn't a ton of interaction with the staff besides placing our order. They seemed nice enough. They do have tables to dine in. They have parking in the shared strip mall parking lot as well as some street parking.

There's plenty of seating for you to enjoy delicious fresh food!

Absolutely love love love this place. From great & friendly service to delicious food. Plenty of bbq options, as well as bbq sauces to select from. All bbq is fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend dinning at this restaurant.

Awesome ribs and brisket! Worth a try if you're a fan of grilled meat! Fast service as you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Many choices of sauces table-side to suit your taste! Great Mac & Cheese! Very casual and kid friendly! Definitely coming back!

Old Southern BBQ

I'm visiting from the west coast and have had my share of bbq so I had to search for a place while in MN. The Old Southern BBQ seemed to be a good choice to try the flavors the locals are experiencing so I gave it a chance. I ordered a sampler that came with brisket, pulled pork, half chicken and two ribs. I also ordered a side of Mac-n-cheese because why not, right. The staff were super friendly and the place was clean and inviting. Unfortunately they fell short on the brisket which was dry and over cooked as was the chicken. The pulled pork needed a bit more flavor and I guess this is the reason for the 5 house bbq sauces. The Mac-n-cheese was bomb! Over all not to shabby if you want a quick meal.

Bbq, chicken and dill potato salad were pretty good. My husband and I were both impressed by the customer service from the moment we ordered to our check in experience while dining in. I also really like the decor here!

went for 2 kids meals for variety and price.

First things first, I ordered through doordash, and the meal came well packaged (no leaks, spills, food sticking out). My partner got a sandwich, which he liked, and I got 2 kid's meals (realized I'd get more bang for my buck). Each meal came with 1 side, a kids' size drink, and a 2pk of oreos. We also ordered cornbread, which was sweet, soft, moist, and tasty. The ribs and chicken were both good in flavor and texture. For the sauces, got the Southern Gal, which had a mild sweetness, and Chicago Fire, which was low on the spicy scale, but still good. The only con was that the mac and cheese; it was just colored noodles... no visible cheese. Overall, it was a fine experience, and I'd order again.

Only ever ordered takeout from here so can't comment on the actual restaurant space but our food has always been pretty decent. I have liked their brisket, pulled pork and ribs they all have a nice smoky flavor. On our last order they did forget to add the bbq sauce even though they charged us , so note to self to always check your bags for correct or missing items before leaving the parking lot! I do think it's little overpriced for portion size but again it is grilled meats and with inflation that's expected

My friend bought ribs from here once and I knew I had to go get some as soon as I had a sample. Absolutely delicious ribs! I added the Chicago fire bbq sauce and it was absolutely delicious. The potatoes in my opinion needed more butter or salt because they were bland to me. Corn bread was soooo good! Definitely spendy as it is ribs however worth every penny! Service was great and loved the decor theme in the restaurant. Highly recommend!

After a nail appointment across the street, I decided to grab some lunch and this place did not disappoint! There is a free parking lot attached but if it's busy, there is a free parking garage across the street! There is a garage door, just pull up and it will open. When I first walked in I got heavy famous Dave's vibes. This place was clean and smelled like your classic BBQ joint! The staff here was extremely friendly! I had an excellent customer service experience! I sat down and did not have to wait very long for my food. There were only a couple other people in the restaurant at the time I visited. The menu has sandwiches but also has the option to get meats on their own. Again, pretty typical for a BBQ joint. My food was very tasty' at first I was concerned about the brisket because it looked dry... but it was fork tender and paired very well with all of the BBQ sauces! The pork had a nice flavor on its own and was not overly greasy. Again, the BBQ sauces all paired very well! The Mac a cheese was definitely a star of the show! Creamy, cheesy and a perfect little garlic crunch on top with the breadcrumbs! Some of the best mac and cheese I have had from a BBQ place! The corn bread too was also delicious and was the perfect amount of sweet! It was not dry and had a nice texture! I'm surprised to see negative reviews on the place! (I hadn't looked at the reviews before stopping here) I had a lovely experience and would absolutely go back!

This place is delicious. Easy to find and parking lot up front. We ordered one of the combinations to try and it did not disappoint. Juicy and flavorful. The potato salad was bomb! I'm usually not a potato salad fan, but I was loving these. Plus they have a variety of sauces to choose from. Service was great, ordered at the front counter and someone brings to your table. Ambiance is like a country bar with high tables and chairs.

I wanted to order one of everything - especially in the snacks section of the menu. We stopped in for happy hour with a reservation on the patio. I really enjoyed I could reserve a spot outside, a lot of places won't guarantee that. We enjoyed the happy hour selection, including the tini flight, wine, margarita and spritz. We also enjoyed oysters, caviar, rock shrimp tempura, tallow fries and the dexter burger. All was fantastic, and I would love to come back and truly try everything else on the menu! One note of caution, while we were there a gust of wind blew an umbrella out of its stand and almost landed/punctured a guest at a nearby table. It was quite the commotion and very scary. I'm guessing that doesn't happen often but a good reminder to be aware of your surroundings all the time!

This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.

I started with their signature cocktail, the Naked Dani. It comes topped with a salty foam and a little rubber duck, which makes it a fun and memorable drink. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Crispy Masa Chips, and honestly, I would probably skip those next time. The portion was pretty small, they were a little awkward to eat, and they just didn't stand out flavor-wise. The Cucumber Watermelon Salad, on the other hand, was amazing. It was light and refreshing, making it the perfect addition to the meal. The roasted sweet potatoes were another favorite--they had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Corn Elote Chipotle, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. For tacos, we tried the Pork Carnitas, and they were fantastic. If you're dining with a larger group, you can even order a larger portion so everyone gets one. Our favorite dish of the night, though, was the Zubuton Asada. It only comes with one skewer and is definitely one of the pricier menu items, but it was worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. We also tried the Chicken Thigh Pincho. It had a nice flavor but was spicier than I expected, so it's probably the one dish I would pass on during my next visit. Overall, we had such a fun dining experience. It's definitely more of a special occasion spot than somewhere I'd visit regularly because of the price, but everything from the atmosphere to most of the food made it feel well worth the splurge.

I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!

The jalapeño green goddess was amazing. But the ranch was so good too, lots of fresh dill in it. I ended up being fat and dumping both in my bowl. It made it so good to balance the quinoa.
