Meat was well prepared and tasted great along with the sides, although the Green Beans were a bit spicy for this guy, but not a deal breaker. First time.... Saturday Special - brisket sandwich and two sides. Hand-Cut Fries, okra, slaw, potato casserole and I asked for a side of brisket chili bc I just had to try it. Sweet Iced tea & tangy, spicy bbq sauce. All for $32. We live an hour away and we will be going back. Also, the staff were great! Portions were extremely small, and the sliced brisket had no smoke ring, and had the flavor like it was cooked in a crockpot. The ribs were OK and the sweet sauce taste like it was 50-50 with pancake syrup. The staff were definitely lacking and failed to tell me that they were without any type of ice for drinks when I made my order. It's alright, pretty good, best BBQ in town, small portions of meat and the burnt ends aren't great tasting. The sauce is very thin, and the rolls are obviously frozen or something. The redeeming qualities would be that the sides are generous portions so they will fill you up where the meat won't, the okra was good, and the onion rings were pretty decent. While the rest of the BBQ was just mediocre the brisket I must admit is some of the best I've had, and I grew up on a cattle ranch. The free soft serve is definitely a plus and the thing that might bring me back in the future because while some things disappointed me, free all you can eat soft serve while watching football sounds like a pretty good way to spend a Saturday. PS- not sure why some of the other comments praise this place like some kind of amazing barbecue joint. I think Gillette is just not used to good barbecue. I say that because Famous Dave's is another chain bbq restaurant and it blows this place out of the water. I feel they use the soft serve gimmick as a way to compensate for meat that is subpar compared to other BBQ. read more

So very glad we have a Dickey's back in Gillette!! The restaurant is amazing, nice and open feel with music at the perfect volume and awesome location. While in Gillette, Wy we discovered this gem that has awesome ribs, smoked brisket and pulled pork. The sides are okay, but the coleslaw is scrumptious. Great deals on the app. Terrific soda machine for mixing sodas. Nicely decorated restaurant with big screens all around. Clean place. The thing that keeps us coming back....free ice cream! fantastic food and amazing customer service!! I placed an order online to pick up and I was in a hurry and didn't check the bags thoroughly before I left. I got home and I didn't have 4 pulled pork sandwiches. I called them up and they asked if I'd like to have them delivered. I said yes, absolutely. They were delivered within about 15 minutes, the sandwiches were fresh and warm, and they even included some extra cookies and brownies. Just stopping through Gillette for a break from the road and a bite to eat. The food was pretty good but it was served on the cold side as other reviewers have noted. I like my food hot! I had the burnt ends and the brisket. The burnt ends would have been better if warm. Cold fat is kinda gross. My brisket was also cold and a bit dry. The BBQ sauce was good but on the watery side. Service was okay. That's about it. If I lived here, I'd probably try it again. Others noted that the portion sizes were small, but I thought there was plenty. read more

We decided to stop in Gillette for lunch. We decided on Dickey's because of the reviews. Being from Texas , we are familiar with Dickey's but not our usual BBQ place. We got the daily pulled pork special, the brisket tacos, and kids pulled pork. Even with two picky eaters we all really liked everything. As a Texan the brisket and pork was very good, loved the bark and liked my brisket lean. The green beans was the only thing that was so-so. Definitely a great place to eat and my kids at everything on their plates. Bonus dessert. read more

Great BBQ restaurant! Best in Gillette. They are outstanding for their service. It's a quick in/out and if you preorder for pickup or delivery you will be well taken care of.
