Greeted by a very friendly hostess and immediately our waitress, Cassidy, introduced herself and got our drink orders. It was up hill from there. Food was wonderful. My favorite thing about this place is the calorie count on the food. It's very helpful for someone who eats way more food than she needs to-- second they have GOOD/DELICIOUS healthy options. It's not just pie and pancakes and pastries--but their cooked skillets are to DIE FOR. It's always nice in clean--not that I go often lol. I only go if someone is paying for me. . . Sometimes the servers are a little personal.... but y'know that's fine. I'm just a teeny tiny bit introverted--so it makes me uncomfortable. BUT THATS OKAY--THEYRE NICE AND THATS GOOD. Sadly, all of the Perkins near me have closed up, even before parent company Perkins/Marie Callendar's filed for bankruptcy. While I don't miss the mind-blowingly lousy service of the establishments of this kind in the Milwaukee area, this visit did remind me of just how good the food is. Bonus points for putting the calorie counts on the menu too, I worked hard to make a selection that wasn't my entire day's worth of calories in one sitting! Service was efficient and we were able to enjoy our meal and get a move on to Devil's Tower without too much fuss, which I appreciated. Social distancing apparently hasn't made it to Wyoming yet, but the staff was wearing masks, so at least that's something. We sat down in a damn near empty restaurant, put in our orders, got our drinks, and after 20 minutes of waiting we're told that it would probably take another 10 minutes for Food to get out; hindsight, we should've got up and left right then in there! 35 minutes after we had ordered the food came out burned but they covered it with about 2 cups of gravy... So I took my two boys here one Saturday morning in October 2021 for breakfast. We waited only a short time for a table, they weren't terribly busy. One waitress refused to serve us and had another try. She couldn't get to us quickly cause she had several tables to serve. Waited 25 min to order, then another 40 MINUTES before our food came out. The person serving us only stopped by once to check on us and that was right after our order. The food was mediocre and part of my sons meal (Hearty Breakfast) was cold. I know that every restaurant can have a hit or miss day. This was definitely a hit for us today. It was super busy, we were waited on immediately. We had food within 10-15 minutes and our waitress was very pleasant. Since this is a chain I was a little worried. Most chains of Perkins are about a 3, but we decided to give it a try. I'm really glad we did! I would definitely come back here again with no question. The manager should be very proud of himself because it seemed to be flowing smoothly for everyone. We loved Perkins as kids. Haven't been to one in a very long time since they don't have any in Los Angeles or New York. So we decided to stop at this Perkins during a road trip. Food was good! If you're in the mood for chain style breakfast.... this is where you should go. But what really rocked about this location was the customer service. I can't remember the last time I've met such a wonderful, nice group of people. Our server was so helpful and friendly. Also overheard another server working with a large group with kids and she was excellent. Almost made me want to move to Wyoming. Okay well not really. But I would have a summer home here! Service was good, food was good but one of the employees was chasing down a fly with a can of Raid at the register where the pies are. I have had good meals there before so it seems really hit or miss. But with my most recent order I got had Kraft Mac and Cheese with cheddar added in. Canned green beans with bacon added, Stove Top Stuffing and canned Cranberry sauce. It was a major disappointment because some of the main items are super good but if I wanted canned veggies I would head to a discount isle of the grocery store. It's Denny's, It's Perkins.. it's a Fast Food Diner. My mom would kill me if she knew I was here, as she is THE BEST COOK/ CHEF EVER!!! With that being said, These places do a good job making food that tastes like it should ( give or take a few things). So don't complain your eggs are not cooked properly. These places are more for the family atmosphere than anything. We stayed in Gillette WY for a mini vacation and to see the sites in the surrounding area. On our last day (7-27-14) we decided to try their local Perkins for our last breakfast in town before heading home to Denver. We've been to the location in Denver at Colorado Blvd and I-25 and it's never failed us for food quality and good service so we had good expectations for this one. Gillette's is a typical Perkins atmosphere. The tables are small and the chairs are unpadded and wooden, seating is crowded. It's not a big deal for a small family such as ours but for larger groups it could be an issue. + : Despite it being Sunday morning and the restaurant bustling with customers, we were seated quickly. + : As a decaff drinker (caffeine sensitive) I ordered decaff and was happy that the coffee came out hot and with flavor. So many restaurants overlook the quality of decaff. So this was a nice departure. + : Our table was clean. No sticky residue left behind which can be an issue in a place serving a lot of syrup during the course of a morning. I ordered the Twice as Nice with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and a blueberry muffin for $7.99. Our waitress brought our food out. Our plates were hot, indicating that the meal would likely be hot as well... - : None of our food was hot. - : The eggs were over done and rubbery. - : The hashbrowns were underdone and cold. They weren't just cold and underdone on my plate but on my husband's, as well. - : Thick scoops of margarine, both on my son's french toast and in cups on our respective plates - instead of real butter - and the margarine didn't melt on the French toast. - : The best thing to be said about my entire 8$ plate was the muffin. I ate enough to say I got some protein and give myself an excuse to consume carbs and sugar by nibbling at the blueberry muffin. Not once did our waitress ask if we needed more coffee nor did she come by and ask how the food was. She brought our coffee, our food, then our check and those were the only times we saw her. While waiting for our food to arrive my husband downloaded the Perkins app and we were able to get 20% off our ticket. So we got a discount (+). We weren't inclined to complain to anyone because it's Sunday, busy and we had to get on the highway. When we come back to Gillette we will go to their a Village Inn location. The food and service there are of much higher quality, rivaling the locations we've visited along the front range in our home of Colorado. read more

They really know how to cook an omelet. I had spinach, bacon and swiss cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly and the on omlette itself was was beautifully cooked - no browned or dry spots. The hash browns were not greasy which was a delightful change from most places. The muffins are wonderful. Be sure to take in your smart phone and download the Perkins app for a 20% doscount. We are traveling across country and stopped in Gillette, Wyoming to eat at Perkins. There were four in our party including two children. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The menu offers a wide variety including a shake and pie combo which my husband took eager advantage of. What made this meal as enjoyable as it was, was Danielle our server. She is friendly, efficient and helpful. She even double checked on food ingredients for our allergic grandson. Restaurants who hire positive and energetic employees are ones we prefer to patronize. Usually have nothing but good things to say about my Perkins experience, but this time was different. We got right in during the busy lunch hour which is different from our usual 15 20min wait on a Sunday morning. It was about 1:15 or so and we waited about 10 minutes before a drink order was placed. Then the food order went without a hitch. The frustration came when our waitress came bye several times and didn't fill our drinks. We continued to eat without them. Thinking she may stop by again with fresh drinks when things slowed down. We really needed a to go box at this time and continued to wait. 20 minutes had passed and by this time I was fuming. Rather than make an @$$ out of myself I paid my bill and left. It's so much busier in the morning and we usually have great service. I've always had fond memories of Perkins. My wife used to work at one in college and I remember loving their omelets. So I'm not sure if it's this location or the corporate menu hats fallen short recently. But I've been disappointed nearly every time we go. Just pretty much everything we order is pretty 'meh'. Kids still enjoy it, and they love getting to pick a cookie out at the end with their meals. Pie and coffee is still a fun thing to do. The hostess was RACIST. My family is Native and after my friend and dad got seated I heard the hostess make comments about my dad. We went for some good food, but got bad service in return. I love Perkins, but the service at this location was horrible. Does Perkins tolerate racism? Because I don't. We got our food, ate, then left. Ate here on 9/7. The staff, minus one, was fantastic. The hostess and server were fantastic! Food was great. But the manager was rude. He was loud, disrespectful to staff. Yelled and talked down to them in front of customers. He checked us out and asked how everything was. I said the ladies here are lovely. He snapped back at me and said that's not the word I use for them. I told him I noticed how rude he was to them. He looked up at me smiled and said thank you. This man has no business being a manager anywhere. I was told later he is not the regular manager. I hope the wonderful staff doesn't have to put up with him again. read more

Its often crowded. It seems to be a clean looking restaurant. The wait staff is okay, some are friendly and good at their job and others, not so much. Last time I ate here, I asked for over hard eggs and they came cooked over medium. The waitress's response was, "Oh, you actually really meant over hard?" I received new eggs, but they looked/tasted microwaved. The pies aren't very good at this Perkins. The pumpkin pie we ordered for last Thanksgiving was undercooked and under-spiced. It's hard to get five stars out of me let me tell you. We stopped in here during our travels and I have to say, I am shocked! The food was absolutely top notch. The salmon skillet tastes as though it came from a five star restaurant, in fact, I've had salmon from five stars that did not hold a candle to this meal! My husband had the turkey dinner which was also very good, we enjoyed the wild berry pie and lemon meringue at half price since it was after nine. Our waiter, Dawson, no exaggeration was by far the BEST waiter I have ever experienced. He was so friendly, made sure to keep checking on us, and he even thought ahead and brought our toddler some applesauce, and shared with us the wonderful news that he too has a baby on the way, we really enjoyed chatting with him and receiving such excellent service after a long day traveling. Dawson should be the manager of the place, he had such great energy and was so professional, you just don't see that sort of work ethic much these days.
