So a colleague and I stopped in for an early dinner and a couple of beers. They had a catfish basket special posted at the front door and i and a big fan of fried catfish so yes, I ordered the catfish basket special and I am glad I did! The catfish was tender, tasty and lightly battered. I just wish there was more. It came with slaw and some tasty hush puppies as well. So, I've been on the road for two weeks now, I only ate at 2 mentionable, great restaurants. Pokeys is one of them. Really good BBQ, I really liked the fried green tomatoes and smoked sausage. The beef and pulled pork was good. I do have to say that they didn't beat back home in Michigans ,Lazy Bones smoke house is still my favorite . But overall a very good meal, I will definitely come back to Pokeys in a day or two. To try some of the other things on the menu, there's so much to choose from. read more

I dislike leaving bad reviews, however if you are considering this establishment, take note that the our waitress (one of two) we had, must have left her personality home this day. We had to track her down to take our order and for iced tea refills. Once our order was taken, 45 min later....still no meal. The tables around us, who all came in after us had some or part of their meals before us. When asked about ours, she said "it's almost ready". Maybe she should have checked on it, ten minutes later still no meal. I'd like to tell you how our meal tasted but we left after almost waiting an hour. The manager wasn't much better indicating she only had two cooks. This was no excuse for the waitress who most likely never put our order in. Sadly we can only my tell you the salad bar is pretty good. An apology would have been nice too! read more

Damn good BBQ! I'm a bit of a smoked meat snob and when I heard this was the best BBQ in Wyoming... well, I had to make the trip! I was not disappointed! St. Louis pork ribs cooked to perfection, no need for any sauce! My husband had a combo of brisket and kielbasa and he cleaned his plate! I would agree that sometimes it is hit or miss. I have been here several times and most of the time it is great. A few things...turn the ac off! Our food was hot when we got it, but cold by the third bite. I had the greenough. Excellent! The fried green tomatoes were ok. But when you have had authentic Cajun fried green tomatoes, nothing is comparable. Other things ordered in our party: the brisket. My hubby always orders it. This time was a miss. As someone else mentioned, it didn't have that awesome smoky flavor it has had in the past. This time it was just ok. Brisket Mac and cheese was pretty good except for the topping. It may have been panko crumbs but it gave it a strange texture according to my son. The wait staff is always friendly and quick. So this time it was a 3. Best BBQ I've ever had. It's so good my wife and I drive two hours from South Dakota once a month for it! It's really nice inside: great atmosphere, great service, and a GREAT menu. You'll come for the exotic meat but stay for the signature sides! They have the best fried green tomatoes and fried green beans you'll ever have. Not in the mood for BBQ? They have a fantastic salad bar. I know what you're thinking: salad bar? But seriously it's amazing it is always stocked full of fresh produce. Oh and did I forget to mention the BBQ?
