I A very small amount of chopped brisket, very dry, horrible tasting. Paid extra for this mess. Sauce was water. Sausage was dried out. Pulled pork was not in the box. Texas toast was limp & cold, not toasted 2. 2 meat order was a joke. Very small amount of brisket. Very dry and seasoning was horrible. Sauce was water down sweet sauce. I used to love this place. Last two times I've been there the portions were extremely small. First time I tried the pork tacos. Less then one piece of meat on ea taco. Second time I tried the sliders. It came with 3 small sandwiches but I had to use the meat from one to make 2 decent sandwiches. It was like small left over meat crumbles. I will not be going back. We stopped at the Dickie's in Kenosha today(Sunday) at about 4pm. There was not one person eating inside. There was one customer at the register. There were 4 people working behind the counter. My family and I literally stood at the counter for 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. Maybe we are ghosts and Just haven't realized it yet. Not a "hello", not a "we'll be right with you", absolutely nothing. Barely even looked in our direction. I used to like going here but never again. Maybe they were busy making delivery orders or something but they could have at least greeted us. Looked like maybe they have new owners. Either way, I'll take my business elsewhere. We ended up across the street and enjoyed a nice family meal out. My piece of advice to this business is to work on your customer service skills, take a class if you need to. No customers equals no money. What I do when I'm at work is deal with the actual humans in front of my face first, they are the priority, then I deal with other things but maybe that doesn't work for everyone. She made this restaurant what it is today and without seeing her face when I walk in to greet me at the door, I refuse to Eat here. My first try here and for a fast food BBQ, they're pretty good! I would say I prefer this over Famous Dave's except that Famous Dave's has better bread. I tried their St Louis styled BBQ ribs are they were tasty but just a little too salty. My husband had the brisket which was really good. He likes their coleslaw and we both enjoyed the baked potato casserole, but I did like the tangy BBQ beans. Not really sure why they served the entrees with a slice of raw onion and pickles (didn't eat those) but their bread was too dry. They offer refillable soft drinks in a nice big cup which I like and soft serve vanilla custard is free as a dessert. I think they are priced fairly for fast food and but I'm from Chicago and I may be comparing apples to oranges here, but you don't have to leave a tip here, so not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about? read more

I have now been here 3 times since it opened. The food itself is ok. I like the brisket, and pulled pork. The sausage is less than to be desired, the ribsa were sub par. The ribs had little smoke or rub flavor, and no smoke ring. Same for the sausage, plus the sausage was overly greasy. Other than the food for the amount you spend your portions are horrible. A two meat plate with drink is $14. You get a 1/4lb of each meat and two sides cups that are only filled 2/3 full. I will say for the price, portions and quality. The bf and I went here a few weeks back after talking about it since it opened. Cute restaurant, clean, and the staff is fantastic. I had no idea what to order and the guys behind the counter were quite helpful! You also get to keep your cup when you leave! Annnnd you get free ice cream. As for the food....it wasn't fabulous. The fried okra was good - needed salt like a mofo. The ribs were not memorable. The brisket was ... sub-par. The mac and cheese was liquid cheese with seriously overcooked noodles. Gross. Really good BBQ for the price. The three meat plate is pretty much a bargain for what you get. Good sauces round out the meats. I have to appreciate a joint that lets it meat speak for itself and doesn't drown everything in sauce. Top it off with your free ice cream and you've got a great little meal. Finally! a great place for lunch when you are doing the Chicago/Milwaukee drive. This place is right off 1-94. Easy on, easy off. They have a daily special-- today was a generously sized pulled pork, with two sides. I got the fried okra and the jalapeño beans. Okra was great, beans were okay. You can slather the meat with three different sauces. All of them were good, but none were stand out necessarily. However, the staff is really on top of their game, the price can't be beat ($9 for meal, two sides and a ginormous, it's-illegal-in-NYC, drink.). There's also free soft serve ice cream cones. Some of the best BBQ in the area. The service is excellent and the food is served hot. My wife and I usually get the chopped brisket and the portion size is decent (I could always eat more brisket). I normally don't eat any fried food, but the fried okra at this place is the best I've ever had! The iced tea is always fresh, and there are free refills. The only thing I don't like here are the "dinner rolls" (they are usually hard and lacking flavor). read more

The restaurant is setup as an order and open sitting place. Very similar to some southern BBQ joints from Florida and Georgia. The sauces were okay and the drink selection was a bit short. Sweet tea was definitely not a direct descendant from the south. But free soft serve ice cream! We ordered the 1 meat meal with brisket, mac&cheese, and waffle fries as well as the 2 meat meal with brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, and potato salad, The brisket and pulled pork were okay and slightly dry. More like 3 and 1/2.For the value the family meal with 3lb's was by far the best option. The meat was plentiful and tender and fairly moist. Beef and pork, they were out of sausages :(/ It was kinda difficult to tell the difference between the beef and pork and it shouldn't be that way at all. Not enough smoke on the meat IMO. I want to taste that Hickory Dickey!!!!!!!!! The sides were fantastic. Beans, slaw, mac n cheese, onion straws. buns etc. all worked well. The big let down was the sauces. They all had a bit too much vinegar for me. The sweet wasn't quite sweet enough and needed some molassas. I guess though that this is Texas BBQ while prefer more of a KC style. Went for lunch today. Had the 2 meat plate with brisket and pulled pork. Hubby had ribs. My sides were mac and cheese and green beans with bacon and his were jalapeño beans and fries. Everything was good. As others have mentioned, there are three different sauces and you can get as much or little as you want. The thing I didn't like was that my brisket was chopped into little pieces about the same size as the pulled pork. Don't know why, but I didn't care for it. 5 Stars for Kenosha BBQ. It was super good and pretty cheap! Worth every penny, it was delicious! Got fall-off-the-bone ribs and both briskets. We stopped in this place because there was a power outage where we were originally going to go. We had a 2 meat dinner, a brisket sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, and wings. It was all REALLY good. The pulled pork and brisket were really meaty and tender and delicious. For sides we had potato salad, cole slaw, fried okra, Mac n cheese, loaded potato and waffle fries. We ate every bite. We would definitely come back here and if we lived closer we would definitely come here for the catering. Choosing dinner based on a billboard made us a bit nervous but - wow - hooray for that billboard. The chicken and pulled pork were both delicious. The bun was perfect. The little container of slaw was just right to add to the sandwich since I like my barbecue sandwiches fixed that way. You add the sauce yourself with warm containers located next to the self-serve beverages. That gave us the opportunity to try two types which we both liked. I'd give the nod to the sweeter one. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very clean. A wonderful added bonus is the self-serve soft ice-cream machine. Free ice-cream cones! I was just in location today at 7pm. Waited in line with a party of 4 ordering in front of me. They were a bit complicated so I waited a bit. Finally when they were done someone came out of nowhere and cut in front of me, and the cashier served him. I don't care if it was a online order, I was there first and it's the rudest and most disrespectful thing a business can do to it's customers. I've had their bbq twice now and both times it was luke warm and average tasting at best. The sauce wasn't bad (I liked the spicy) and the Mac N Cheese was good. But I'm not the only one of my friends who has eaten there and thought the meat was not even warm and they were disappointed in most of what they tried. I picked up an order of 2 meats and a side. The brisket was extremely dry and although the burnt end portion was flavorful, the meat itself lacked a real good smoke flavor. Once again Dickey's messed up our order. First, the app would not allow us to order because it wouldn't let us set a time. My husband called and placed the order for pickup. We were told 15 minutes. He went in to pick up to find the employees gave his order away to Door Dash. We eventually got our food but had to wait. The manager took care of the Door Dash customer but never offered my husband anything for making him wait. This happened once before when we actually did place the order online and it never was made. My husband works in the food service business and usually never says anything because he knows the manager's aggravation with employees when you trust they are doing their jobs properly. As I stated, we have eaten at Dickey's four times now and twice our order has been messed up. read more

Tonight I had a restaurant.com certificate sitting and we decided to order carry out. The guy who answered the phone Bill, was great! Very nice and friendly. I placed my order and he said no problem using my certificate. We have a large family so we ordered the xl family deal, sliced brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey. Side were okra, Mac and cheese green beans and baked beans with 8 rolls. The location is out by 94 and we live close to Tremper high, so at least 10-15 mins. The food was still hot when it got home and they gave us plates, silverware and a taste of all three sauces! Everything was great except we got mash potatoes instead of the green beans. And the brisket was a bit salty for our taste. The pulled pork was great and the turkey was amazing. I will definitely go back for the great deal and awesome customer service. My teenage daughter picked it up and they where very nice to her and even offer her a drink while waiting. The only reason why she waited was they wanted to make the fried okra fresh for us! Not five stars for giving us mash potatoes instead of green beans and the salty brisket. Still a great find in Kenosha. Dickey's barbecue pit. This is a very nice barbecue place across from Woodmans straight west that offers fine barbecue at reasonable prices. They even have fresh veggies and many assorted sides. The ribs fall off the bone. They are all meat very tender . No fat, no grizzle. Very fresh and delicious. Move over hillery's . I going to dichey's. I just found out they have one a gurnee mills. Be sure to try their green bean side, yum. You can get diet size portions there, wow. They have lots of sides and dinners under $10. Check this place out. They offer full and half slabs too. I went there Tuesday and used their Tuesday menu and was able to order 3 ps. Rib and had a choice of 2 sides. read more
