Really wanted to like this place and looked forward to trying it for a special occasion dinner, but the experience was so so, not good. First, we went early on a weeknight around 4pm. We were one of 5 tables in the entire place and stood in entrance for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. We got seated and atmosphere is seemed great. Nicely decorated, comfortable booths, but something was off with the vibe. Not sure what but the staff we saw just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. It took forever for server to greet us and was not very warm or welcoming. Explained it was our first time here and response was nothing...except did we want to order drinks. Took forever to receive drinks then we ordered an appetizer of speciality dish wildfire shrimp just ok, tiny deep fried spicy shrimp with side of ranch. Just ok, had definite kick to it, if you like spicy. We placed our food order and again food took forever to come out. Salads were fresh. Bread was good. Filet which was supposed to be 6 ounces but seemed very thin, cooked more medium than medium well. NY strip steak was very thin too but cooked to order medium. Steaks had overpowering amount of seasoning on them. Baked potatoes were lukewarm at best and even though ordered loaded very little sour cream or butter. I would have asked for more but server never came back to check on us in timely manner. Had to use the butter that came with the bread but barely warm potato is unappetizing. It took forever to get our check too - no apology nothing. For the price $30-40 per person, there are MUCH better choices across the border in Illinois. Overall, drinks and bread are decent, I'd recommend driving another 20-30 minutes south and check out the steakhouses in Gurnee, Illinois, skip this location as service was slow and food was not great and served lukewarm. Shout out to this restaurant!! First time being there and it was really good. They had recently put grilled corn on the cob back on their menu with a creama on it and I'm sure glad they did!! I usually have a great experience at Longhorn but 8/6/26 was out of the ordinary. The waitress was not focused. She got my drink order wrong and brought the appetizer out first when I requested it to come out with everyone else's meal. That wasn't a big deal at all. I am no Karen so I let that slide but I should have saw that as a sign. We ate are food and everything was good. I went shopping at Costco and started feeling sick but nothing horrible. I went to bed and woke around 1am with massive stomach pains. I ended up nauseous and with explosive diarrhea. I not sure what changes they made at Longhorn but just be careful. There were 4 of us and we all got sick. Our order consisted of ribeye, ribs, chicken bites, mashed potatoes, french fries, baked potatoes, water with sliced lemons and limes, coke, strawberry lemonade and a texas margarita. read more

Arrived at 5:20. Plenty of open seating, but were told 35 minutes because they were "waiting for servers to arrive". Seated, ordered and salads arrived. Asked for napkins, utensils and bread twice. I had to get up and walk to the front desk to get what we needed. The bread arrived after we were finished eating. The food is good, but service and attention to detail are not a strong suit. I have been to this restaurant one other time. It was a pretty good experience about a year ago. Today my husband and I went back for an early dinner. After we were seated we waited about 10 minutes for our waitress. We ordered our drinks and told her we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. She didn't come back for almost 15 minutes. When she did she apologized for being late on getting our drinks. The loaf of bread was barely warm. We ordered our food and asked if we could substitute the salad that came with our meal for soup instead and she said yes. Well we didn't know we would get charged separately for it! Then she said what side did you want so I looked at the menu where the sides were. I chose the Brussel sprouts. Well I got charged extra for that too. My husband chose asparagus and he could hardly get it because it was woody and tuff. He was charged extra for his side too. I also was charged more for the $3.49 beer that was advertised in the menu. When my meal came the shrimp that was supposed to be with it was missing. I don't know if our waitress put the order in wrong, but I got charged extra for the shrimp. I told her the shrimp came with the dinner. When it finally came out I was missing 4 shrimp. I can see this place closing in the future. The waitress had to go in the kitchen and get the bill adjusted and it still wasn't right. It's was 85* outside and the air in the restaurant was very low. I was perspiring as I dined there. We probably will not be going back to this establishment. My husband compared another Longhorn restaurant in Illinois and said it was five times better than Kenosha's Longhorn. For reference we made an online order to pick up and take home. They gave us a time to show up when the food would be ready and we were there on time. Mind you this pick up time was about 20 minutes after we sent in our order. We get there and have to wait another 30 minutes to receive any service or be given our food. We open the bag and there is NO SILVERWARE. We're at a hotel, not exactly somewhere we have easy access to utensils. To further that there was also no butter in the bag... that came with a loaf of bread. At least the food tasted decent. read more

Our server was good, attentive. We ordered our meat medium, and well done. The medium order arrives almost rare, the well done order arrived medium rare. We sent them back. After an extremely long wait, the medium order arrived medium, and the well done order arrived medium rare, almost rare. How is this even possible? We decided to take the check and leave. They charged the one they got wrong twice for the sides and drink and comped the meat, and charged full price for the second meal they got wrong once. Complicated I realize. First time at Longhorn. Everything went well. Got a nice booth. Got a good Server (Michael). He gave a good reco for a steak. Nice looking restaurant (brand new). Had the big ribeye med rare cooked on a char grill. My wife had the chop steak. Both excellent. Two good side salads w/ house made dressings (Ranch & Blue Cheese), large tasty baked potato's and warm bread. No complaints. Tried Longhorn tonight with the family. Our server Joe was nice enough, not too on top of us but also didn't disappear. Ordered the baked French onion soup. It wasn't bad for a chain restaurant and it was very cheesy which I love. I ordered the filet medium rare with fries on the side and Caesar salad which I gave to my son. The side salads were large. My steak was cooked perfectly and needed no salt. The seasoned fries were seasoned almost on the salty side but I don't mind a little bit of salt so they were good for me. I would order my fries on another plate next time due to the steak juices getting them wet. I would potentially try this place again if people wanted me to go with them but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list. read more

Had heard of the recent popularity of Longhorn so thought I'd try the Kenosha location. Big mistake, huge! Vastly over seasoned filet completely overwhelmed any flavor the meat itself might have presented. So spicy it became hard to eat. Awful. And the baked potato??? First try was rock hard, could not ne eaten. Replacement tater only marginally better, also not really edible. All in all, a TOTAL disappointment. Will absolutely never eat at another Longhorn. Because of a large gift card, we have eaten at the LHS twice now. Neither time could I finish the meal. The first time, my salad arrived missing what the menu had stated would be there and with additional items that should not be on it. To "fix" the issue, the correct food was just placed on top the mistake. I was not given a new salad. Today the ordered appetizer was described as having "crispy flat bread." The flatbread was dripping in oils from deep frying. I tried removing some of the oils by requesting paper napkins to soak up the oils, but that did not help. I left the food behind. Who would ever assume that "crispy" means oily? I could not in good conscience ever recommend this restaurant to anyone without a disclaimer that the menu description and the food presented are not the same. read more

Review of Kenosha Wisconsin Location on Highway 50 We arrived late on a busy Saturday night at the Kenosha, Wisconsin location on Highway 50. After sitting at the bar, we eventually received service, although the place was very crowded. The place seemed really nice & pretty clean for a busy night and fairly new location. Our server/bartender was fantastic and running the entire time we were there, which we appreciated. I have been to many other Long Horn Steakhouses in other states and was looking forward to a simple, relaxing 'mid-scale', 'casual' steak house dinner, after a long trip in a car. We ordered rib eye dinners. The salads were great, but unfortunately, the ribeye steaks were excessively salty (and extremely thin, with a lot of tenderizer). The steaks tasted as if the cook opened a salt box and doused the steaks. We couldn't and didn't eat our dinners. Two customers sitting next to me stated the same about their chicken and large steak which also tasted overly salty. We brought our concerns to the manager, who was professional but insisted, "I eat here every day, and the steaks are great." While we were quietly discussing the issue, an unknown server, whom we had seen behind the bar and had no prior interaction with, interrupted the manager to comment to us that the seasoning was a Texas rub and that "you aren't use to Texas-style steak seasoning"! . Frankly, the unknown server should have just stayed out of it. I'm in Texas often and this was no "Texas rub". This was poor cooking with tenderizer and salt on a bad cut of meat. Since we couldn't/didn't eat our dinners, the manager wiped our bill. However, when we got home, let's just say, I can eat a nail and not be effected, but we both had to spend a couple of hours in the bathrooms. read more

This meal was really disappointing to me. We went to LongHorn Steakhouse in Gurnee, Il. It's rather new. We've been going to the Kenosha location for year's. We will NEVER go back to this location. Ribs were overcooked. I sent them back and the second set was still overcooked and extremely dry. The #ribeyesteak was EXTREMELY FATTY. Such a waste of money. We've been going to LongHorn Steakhouse for many years and have never had an experience like this one. We've gone to Lagrange and Berwyn locations over 50 times. The Kenosha location over 20 times. I love Longhorn Steakhouse -- at least at other locations. Our steaks at this location were cooked perfectly and would have been wonderful if served while hot. The problem here is the service, or rather, the lack thereof (I blame the management). We arrived at 12:30 PM, and after entering the restaurant, we had to wait six minutes before anyone came to greet us at the front desk (and he was the busboy). After being seated, it was another long wait before our server arrived -- she was friendly, and since we had a long wait, we already knew what we would order. When our food eventually arrived, it was lukewarm at best. After we finished eating, we had to wait over 15 more minutes for the server to bring our check. The bottom line is that our "dining experience" took 85 minutes, most of which was waiting on the "wait staff." The restaurant was not busy -- maybe one-third full at most. read more

It was clusterfu... Their call ahead system was not working. They took your name and phone number but they couldn't text you to tell you that your table was ready because the system didn't work. The wait wasn't long, however the service was slow and the time between the order was placed and the food arrived was 45 min. Some items on the plate where hot, some where cold. My husband and I came here for dinner tonight around 7pm we were told it would be about a 15 minute wait and it was just around that time we were seated. We waited a good 25 minutes at the table with no acknowledgement from any staff at all. We sat there with our menus closed at the end of the table. No one said they would be with us soon, no water or bread. No service for that entire time. My husband is on crutches and already took convincing to go out to eat and this is how our evening went. Server was friendly but slow to respond to the needs of our table, even though they weren't very busy at the time. The food (steak was under cooked (almost raw). When the manager was made aware, he argued about weather the food should be returned to the kitchen for reheating. When a new steak was presenting as "cooked "medium", it was almost raw again. In my opinion, between the dangers of providing severely undercooked meat (twice, and the manager's reaction to the complaint, the meal should have been comped. **Two words: SALT. BOMB. Don't waste your money.** To start, the wait at the host stand was an odd and hostile experience. The host told us they were ready to seat us about 10 minutes before they actually sat us. Then, once they were ready to take us to our table, there was another party waiting with our same name & number of guests in their party and they let us talk it out to decide who got the table and didn't help facilitate (or even look back at the computer to see who was actually first in line). To start the meal, the server brought bread and we also ordered an appetizer (pictured). The bread had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, making it not worth eating. The appetizer, a Texas Tonion, was beyond salty and practically inedible. This should've been a warning for what was to come... Another member of our party asked for milk for their drink, and it came out with more ice than milk in the glass. It then took a while to even receive our main course, but when it did come, it was just as bad. My fiancé ordered the chicken tenders with a side of both fries and mac and cheese. The chicken tenders must've been cooked in straight salt-water, and were inedible. The fries came out completely cold to the touch, and for the mac and cheese being a premium side (with an up charge to order it), it was not worth it and also quite salty for being mac and cheese. My fiancé couldn't even stomach the chicken or fries so he sent them back without getting them remade. I ordered the lemon garlic chicken which somehow was just as salty (I presume it was the marinade). It came with the brussel sprouts which were advertised as "smokey honey butter" but came out lukewarm and very barbecue flavored. Lastly, when the bill came (which took almost as long as the entire time we took to eat), they only removed some of my fiancé's meal. Our server was nice, but the entire experience was poor. When the hostess sat us, a waitress walked by and said "I don't know who's taking that table, but it won't be me" with a scowl on her face. I told the hostess that was incredibly rude. She apologized for the waitress who was 30 plus years her senior. Our waitress was nice. She took our order and got us some bread. In typical LHS fashion, that's when the service took a dive. We waited an incredible long time for our food. The crabby waitress brought us our food. The food was good. Steaks were cooked perfectly. We asked our waitress for drink refills and some butter for our potatoes. That was the last time we had any interaction with her. We didn't receive the drinks nor the butter. Thank goodness for the pay from the table option. We paid and left. I just don't understand why the service starts strong and ends pitifully. First off, this place has all the aesthetic charm of a Navy mess. It is huge inside with little to no ambiance. We went there for dinner on a Monday night figuring it wouldn't be too busy, and we were right. We were seated quickly and the server came buy about 5 minutes later. He was young and very robotic in his approach. It was like he was trying to remember a memorized script. All in all about as personable as a parking meter. My wife and I ordered and appetizer with our drinks and then waited. The waiter brought our drinks & the bread and took our dinner order, she got the ribeye w/broccoli and a house salad and I ordered the NY strip w/loaded baked potato and the same salad. About 20 minutes later a food runner brought our meals (never got the appetizer). We looked for the waiter, he was nowhere to be found. My baked potato was cold. We waited...and waited, also hoping to ask for some A1 as my steak was very bland and downright chewy (not usual for a NY strip) After several minutes my wife got up and went to talk to someone who seemed to be a manager. He brought the A1 and I informed him about the potato. He offered to get me a fresh hot one. I started trying to eat the steak and managed to eat about half when the waiter finally checked in in and asked how things were. I told him about the potato and he said he would keep an eye out for it and walked away. NO drink refills, no chit chat, nothing. Several minutes later he brought the potato and we asked what happened to our appetizer. He looked puzzled and said he would get one done right away. We said no as we were well over halfway done with the meal and once again he vanished. The potato was hot, but they coated it with so much salt I could barely taste the "loaded" ingredients. We finished, he brought a to-go box for my wife and we paid and left. I have eaten at steakhouses from Gibsons to The Rainbow Room and every chain one in between and this was the single WORST experience at ANY steakhouse I have been too. Bake potato hard as a rock, sent back three times before edible potato showed up. My friend's ribs were cold when served, very good say sauce when they finally came. Waitress Pamela was wonderful, and so apologetic, head of Resturant took potatoes back but never gave me new one's. Pamela noticed and finally brought me a new one. I live 15 minutes away, checked the website to add name to waitlist and it said no need to, there is no wait. Get to the door and there is a 30 minute wait. If I go again I will make sure to add name even if it says not necessary. While we were waiting we noticed quite a few tables empty. While we were seated there were always empty tables with people waiting. The host, hostess seemed very pleasant and polite. I ordered a ribeye rare with loaded mashed and French onion soup. My wife ordered surf and turf, med rare with non seasoned fries and a green salad. We started with the chicken bites, which were assured were not spicy ( my wife has stomach issues, so spices cause her problems), and the firecracker chicken wraps, a sprite and an iced tea. The drinks came out and my wife's drink was empty before the appetizers came out. The server never asked if she would like a refill. The appetizers came out and she was still not asked if she would like a refill so I suggested she put her glass on the edge of the table. The chicken wraps were salted and the bites were not very spicy, but they did have a spice to them. I flagged down a passing employee to get a refill on my wife's drink. The entrées came out. My rare steak was medium and heavily coated in salt. My wife's medium rare steak was well done and both the steak and lobster were heavily salted. This was very disappointing as they claim to use high quality never frozen foods. A high quality steak should need nothing added. Neither of us ate much of the appetizers or entrées. I finished my soup, she ate half of her salad. We sat for 45 minutes without being asked how things were, how was the food, etc. We had to ask for the check. I may try again, as everyone can have an off day, but lots of reviews state this location overly salts it's food and can not properly cook to your request. This location is horrible!!! They have a host that stands there just to ignore guests. He won't even look up from that screen. They seat you only to have you wait 20 minutes just for your waitress to take your drink orders. Our food wasn't cooked to our liking.
