    Mac & Cheese

Mac & Cheese: Texas Roadhouse was founded in 1993, with its first location in Clarksville, Indiana of all places. On a recent visit I went with their Mac & Cheese as one of my sides. There's not much to say as it was both basic and underwhelming. You get a ton of elbow macaroni (it was actually enough for a meal on its own) considering it's a side dish. The macaroni fell a little flat for me because the flavor was incredibly mild and more buttery than cheesy. Photos on their website depict noodles that are more of a cheesy orange, but mine looked like a light yellow or even white by comparison. On the plus side, the noodles were not dry. By no means bad, but nothing to get excited about. I wouldn't get it again, especially since it's an upcharge item. Just okay 3 star Mac, 4 stars overall Doughboy_Food_Reviews

What an experience today while celebrating our mother's 70th birthday! The service was outstanding by Kelly! Upon approaching the facility was clean with a walk up area for pick up. The facility wasn't nicely decorated for Breast Cancer Awareness... kudos to this team! I was waiting on my group to join and Ava the hostess and manager Kelly were aware I was waiting on a group who were taking a super long time, but when I asked to be seated after 30 minutes they agreed. Once my group arrived they asked to be moved to a different table. No hassle from the team that accommodated our request. Our server Kelly was on top of our request with a smile. We ordered the onion blossom to start and our drinks which all arrived at our table quickly. In addition, we all purchased from the $11.99 menu and this was over enough food. A great value. We got the steak with two sides. All dishes were cooked perfectly and flavor was great. The condiments were clean a nicely laid our. Menus were clean and easy to read. The famous Texas Roadhouse rolls and cinnamon butter .... the best! When it was time to wrap up she provided to-go boxes and bags. The service from the hostess stand to our table was something to talk about. Great job Kenosha team! If I could rate you at 10 stars, I certainly would!

OK, I decided to stop in here again to watch the Brewer game and have a little dinner after work. I wanted so desperately to give the Roadhouse a better review. Fourth time is a charm! They seem to have gotten better...must have new management. Bree the bartender was cordial and accommodating. I ordered the double grilled pork chops side salad, and green beans. Everything looked and tasted absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good work! Kudos to you Texas Roadhouse!

Hack: Pick out your steak when you go in, even before you sit down. They will give you a ticket to identify your steak and you just give it to your server when you are ready. I always choose the nice ones with marbles. They cooked it just right, medium and it was better than I expected. One of the managers Liz was amazing. The basket of rolls could be a little softer though

Stopped for an early dinner on the way back to Chicago. Even though the restaurant was full, we waited only a few minutes. Our waiter was great! Fast and funny! The bread basket is to die for along with the cactus blossom. Paired really well with the "two spotted cows" draft beer. For the entree , had the Texas combo- ribeye and grilled shrimp. The meat was cooked to perfection and all the sides were really great! Definitely a must if in the area !

Tuesday night and still the best steak in town! My steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. Staff are always friendly and the location is always clean. Sometimes a bit loud with folks talking but I'm good with that.

This restaurant is your typical Texas Roadhouse with the country music and relaxed atmosphere. Everyone that we encountered was very friendly and offered great service. The manager even stopped by to make sure everything was satisfactory. The steaks and wings were delicious as were the rolls and rattlesnake bites. Our server did a wonderful job and was both helpful and friendly. I asked to get my fries on the side (so my son could have them) and they gave him an entire basket of fries. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

No this is not the perfect place to get a steak. But seriously it's good even if you go when it's busy. I usually pick a steak out of the case and have them not season it. This way I can control the amount of sodium I take in. I miss the seasoning that's for sure. You can order your salad with just oil and vinegar. All of the dressings they offer are pretty high in sodium. The mushrooms are good on the steak. I should try the onions as well sometime I used to get a shrimp sidekick but the sodium is way too high. Their Cheese Fries appetizer is also very good but sigh... Very kid friendly. Large groups eat here all the time as well. And Saturday night they are packed. But I've not had bad service. Even when a storm came through and we temporarily lost power.

Dining is also a delight. A nice menu offers a variety of entrees and appetizers, German and American fare. Seafood is also very well prepared. Friendly waitstaff work hard and are very efficient. Water is refilled constantly. We had a schnitzel, scallops, house salad, and one awesome spinach salad topped by a perfect Strawberry Schaum Torte dessert on a recent busy Saturday. Can't wait to revisit to House of Gerhard when we return to Kenosha County.

It made for a really memorable setting. Our group enjoyed a three-course meal, and overall it was a great experience. The cheese curds and calamari were great, but I would personally skip the stuffed mushrooms next time. Most of us ordered the filet, and it was cooked perfectly across the board, definitely a highlight of the meal. Way overcooked, rubbery and fishy, extremely disappointing for a supper club and the price. Another at our table also had the filet, which was a sad cut. A fourth had the whitefish, which he said was on the bland side. The atmosphere and views were great. Service was also great, just wish the main entrees would have been a lot better. We were one of 5 tables in the entire place and stood in entrance for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. We got seated and atmosphere is seemed great. Nicely decorated, comfortable booths, but something was off with the vibe. Not sure what but the staff we saw just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. It took forever for server to greet us and was not very warm or welcoming. Explained it was our first time here and response was nothing...except did we want to order drinks. Took forever to receive drinks then we ordered an appetizer of speciality dish wildfire shrimp just ok, tiny deep fried spicy shrimp with side of ranch. Just ok, had definite kick to it, if you like spicy. We placed our food order and again food took forever to come out. Salads were fresh. Bread was good. Filet which was supposed to be 6 ounces but seemed very thin, cooked more medium than medium well. NY strip steak was very thin too but cooked to order medium. Steaks had overpowering amount of seasoning on them. Baked potatoes were lukewarm at best and even though ordered loaded very little sour cream or butter. I would have asked for more but server never came back to check on us in timely manner. Had to use the butter that came with the bread but barely warm potato is unappetizing. It took forever to get our check too - no apology nothing. For the price $30-40 per person, there are MUCH better choices across the border in Illinois. Overall, drinks and bread are decent, I'd recommend driving another 20-30 minutes south and check out the steakhouses in Gurnee, Illinois, skip this location as service was slow and food was not great and served lukewarm. Meh.
