Weak jokes, bad food: After seeing the hype about these places online this location was disappointing. We were all looking forward to some thoughtful insults and got jokes.com crap. They don't know what they're doing, should not be touching customers. You're supposed to be entertaining them, not physically assaulting them. Although I do appreciate the waitress switching up her tactic of if you can't make them laugh, make them afraid! That blonde waitress even did a REPEAT joke on one of the hats for our table. Her idea of comedy was saying you can't use the bathroom, helping her serve drinks and throwing straws. Lazy across the board! Imagine you rounded up the people who work at a small town marathon gas station and forced them to be funny. THAT is the experience combined with the oddness of if a cashier at chic-fil-a tried to tell a dirty joke. You might like it, but it's too boring and cringy for me. The place is as dirty as you think it would be. We ordered the sampler platter and the distinctive adjective was "soggy." Didn't order cocktails but I don't think alcohol could have made those punch lines funny. I left that cesspool of unoriginality feeling like I could be a comedian. waited 2 hours for a table that was already empty, we walked in for a table and the girl behind the bar came up as the hostess and was rude and discriminated against us. waitress was perfect she rocked but the overall experience and ambience was not good, we didn't feel welcomed at all they stuck us in a dark corner of the room by the stage, the food wasn't all so good either. read more

We went in knowing that the food would not be the highlight of our dinner experience. The beginning was all fun and lots of laughter and then it was just like a regular restaurant; no silly antics or anything. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our drinks. We were told to not drink the water as they were out of bottle and it came from the sink; looking around no one had water. My partner and I went to Dicks for the experience. We are from up north in NJ and don't have this restaurant. Our hats were so funny which is what they are known for. I order the wiener and had it naked our server Alex said it was disgusting and put ketchup on the table he made us laugh so much throughout the night. My partner got the burger and said it was average. You go more for the experience. We got 2 drinks and got to keep the mason jar and glass they came in. Y'all have to come & see CATO!! I took my 16 yr old daughter & her bestie here for dinner last night. It was SO SO fun!!! He wasn't super crass or disrespectful to a child but was silly enough to make them (&me) giggle! He even talked us into not buying not 1 but TWO t-shirts!! We had the best time. I took my friend here for her birthday and it was the most memorable thing we did all weekend! Our server was Cato (if you're reading this I hope I spelled it right). He was dressed in a bucee the beaver onesie for Halloween. My friend and I were able to playfully joke back and forth with him about it all in good fun. He's the reason I had to get their 12" hot dog with my back and cheese. Felt like a staple. We loved that we got to keep souvenir cups and the hostess gave us stickers. If you're looking for a laugh and some good food and drinks this is the place for you. Both of our hats were hilarious by the way. Thank you Cato. I have always heard great things about Dicks Last Resort. The internment was ok but the food was the worst. My husband and friend got the shrimp and fries. It looked like a child's plate there was only like 5-6 shrimp and a handful of fries. The shrimp were very over cooked almost looked burnt. I had the ribs and wings. Ribs were decent but the wings were awful. Looked like they poured bottle of bbq sauce just on top and were cold. Was a real disappointment. read more

A big group of us visited Dicks Last Resort a few days ago looking for a place in Orange Beach to get a good steak and have a fun time. The service was as expected so we can't complain about the rudeness..actually the waitress is probably the only reason for any stars. Appetizers came out before the drinks got to the table, there were 18 of us so we always understand it's a lot for a server. Appetizers were good- fried pickles and mozzarella cheese sticks. The steaks were a huge let down. I ordered mine cooked medium and several others ordered medium rare. Everyone who ordered a steak that night got Well done. The side of crab legs didn't come with the instruments needed to eat them. I think the back of house really needs to get with the presentation and standards of cooking before we will return. My husband and I took our son here for his 13th birthday and it was very disappointing. The hostess walked us to a round about area of where we were to be seated and pointed at the table and said "that's your table". She didn't give us menus or silverware. Not to mention it was like the black hole, so dark we had to use our cell phone flashlight to be able to see. We sat for about 10-15 minutes before a server showed up. The drinks we got from the bar were pretty good. The food was disappointing. The ribs were dry and had no flavor, my steak was not that good either. My son's macaroni and cheese with steak was burnt. My two teenagers have been asking to visit here for a long time, what a disappointment. We had a 2 hr wait on the yelp check in, no big deal. Finally, it was our turn. My kids were so hyped that this was gonna be fun. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't seem to be putting in much effort The waiter next to use was awesome, he was funny and just laying it on with families cracking up. The food was terrible, which we expected we were paying for the experience which we did not get. The disappointing portion was, getting sat and 2 other tables sat after us - each of them, well cared for, drinks came fast... meanwhile, not a single person came to our table. Staff seemed friendly and manager was apologetic; I appreciated that, however, when you have to wait over an hour and sit ignored for 20+ min. Our waiter Cam, or as we lovingly called him "Tim the Tool Man Taylor", was great. Quick witted, clever, all around hilarious.
