I told him what I was looking for and he searched for it too, but he couldn't find it either. He searched his inventory and found out that it was only available online. He helped me order it and had it shipped to my house. The salesman went above and beyond to help me out and made sure I was a satisfied customer. Disappointed. Spent over a week trying to schedule a simple club repair ay my local Dick's. Back to school priorities coming from local management had shut the golf services down for 10 days. After three trips to the store, I was able to drop the club off with an assurance from the golf staff that the club would be done this weekend. When I called ahead today, I was told that no club services were being done on weekends and that my simple repair would take another (4) days. Unacceptable. I bought and fully paid for several items online in store during Black Friday and Christmas not used with tags. Dicks has a 3rd party blocks you from returns/exchanges for 180 days. This was during Christmas. I did not buy a lot just a few items. Dicks does not give you any warning before at all. I have $200 sneakers I cannot exchange size a little too big. If you're wondering why DIck's Sporting Goods seems to be slowly going out of business, order from them using same day service and you'll understand why. It's sad. I'll spare you the details, but my same-day order turned into a three-day wait, possibly because of a software glitch but more likely human error. On the fourth day I canceled the order. Despite great marketing, advertising, and merchandizing, Dick's just doesn't have the technology to compete with Amazon or even Academy for that matter. Like I said at the beginning, it's sad. They used to be great. UPDATE: Despite reassurances in a phone call that the order would be canceled, they still charged me full price on the item that has never been delivered to me. This review has little to do with customer service. Staff are pretty friendly. My issue with this location if Dicks is the way they have decreased the variety of fitness attire for women. Unless of course you're a fan of the Carrie Underwood athleisure line. I did notice that they filled up the aisles in the ladies section with all of their Austin FC attire and some men's golf clothing. The variety offered for women has significantly decreased. Second visit to Dick's in Bee Cave today with the wife looking for gym related items. She picked out a new pair of shoes, knee braces, and a weight belt for her upcoming power lifting training. FINALLY, I don't have to do all the heavy lifting around the house, but the wife says I still have to kill all the bugs. While the wife shopped till she dropped, little Rooster and I ventured over to the putting green as we do in most sporting goods stores. No love for little boys from Dick's. All the putters were adult size; props to Golfsmith in the Arboretum area for keeping little putters readily available. We ventured over to the kid golf area and all the little clubs were packaged on the shelf without a demo present anywhere. Why in the hell would not encourage little ones by having options for them? Little Rooster made due with an adult model flirting with a nice lady as they played around the course for a good 20 minutes. I tried a few different models; but I have at least 5 putters in my closet. My thinking is if you can't hit the ones you have, I'm not willing to spend $200 just to prove the miracle 10 under par putter doesn't exist. We then ventured over to team sports with me preparing for our next stop HEB the day before Thanksgiving. Tried on some goggles, but a catchers mask might have been in order. Thing is I can't give more than two stars here; your letting the youth of fancy pants Lakeway down by not giving a potential future customer the option to try kids putters. A few staffers were friendly but I hate the point in the general direction when you ask where something is. "Oh, that's over that way". Gee thanks for the help. Love Dicks sporting good store. One great large store with everything you like for camping skiing, golfing, swimming ect. I admire the fact the place is surrounded with many nicely arranged items throughout. I graciously walked and found many items priced reasonably. One disappointing fact is that no sales people approach you and gee ,I have to hunt them down if I have any questions. I needed workout Nike's pants and found an anazing variety of different sets of combined colors. I also saw how prices are reasonable as well competitive of other atheletic stores in the same area of Hill Country Galleria. Parking no problem easy access. Another negative was a situation one of the exit doors was completely banned which is a fire hazard danger. One of the sales people told me why they completely blocked it because of theif. .....so I totally underetood but why not get a security person there instead? I could not find one person to point me towards the cycling shoes so I gave up and decided to go with Zappos.com instead. I was able to return an online order here though. Given COVID, I was swearing my mask and standing behind the plexi glass screen, when the manager asked me to move to the left of the screen where I would be directly exposed to the cashier ‍ Unless you are certain that the item you need is available here, I would avoid at all costs and go the e-commerce route instead. Dick's doesn't have the best selection or prices, but it's not all that bad. Michael, one of the cashiers was super helpful and gave me his honest opinion on a certain product I was interested in. Instead of just telling me to buy the more expensive one he gave me his personal recommendation and why. I really appreciated that. Often times they have deals going on where one can get "Dick's cash" back with their purchase which is like free money to spend at a later date. The only downside is they seem to he lacking in the dressing room department. For the entire women's side I only saw 2 rooms and you have to buzz an employee to open the door. read more

The shoe department continues to provide horrible customer service. Approached the sales associate, Noemi, and asked her if she could see if two shoes were available. She said nothing to me and continued putting shoes in boxes. So I stood there. Then she finally scanned the shoes and said no. No other response! How hard is it to simply say, "I'll be right with you." Or maybe, "give me a few seconds and I'll check on it." Instead she gave no response when I asked her to check on two shoes. Then I went back and found 2 other shoes. Approached Noemi again. I showed her the shoes and asked if she could check to see if they had them in stock. She actually replied this time and said, "I'll be right back." She grabbed some boxes and went to the back. Guess what...she never came back out to check on me. I feel compelled to write a review because of extraordinary service from one of the employees, Sonny Lee. I had golf clubs regripped by another associate at Dick's who maybe was not trained properly in how to regrip the clubs. I brought the clubs back and Sonny made an effort to do the grips properly at no extra charge in just a few hours. A follow up call the next day and complimentary gift card were icing on the cake. I had purchased a treadmill online that was on sale and when I went in to pick it up, I asked if the 25% off coupon I had received online would still work. The associate, Chase V. Checked for me and stated he thought so. He rerang my purchase & called a manager over to cancel my original online order. I received another $160 off the price of the treadmill all because this young man was helpful & interested in providing great customer service. I asked him if he could accept a tip and he said thank you but no. Just wanted to give a shout out to Chase and to the Bee Cave Dick's. Just like the name. Some of the worst customer service I've had in a while. The checkout process was very annoying. I did one of those 'In Store' orders from their poorly branded Score More ordering kiosk. I believe I was passed around to 4 different employees before I even got to the cash register. No one seemed to know what they were doing. The guy that ultimately walked me to the front of the store to pay for my order was very prickish. When I received my product, I went to the store to pick it up. The guy up front was cool. Got it home. It was missing a part. I call up Dick's to talk to someone about how to get my part replaced, and or installed on my new kayak. I spoke with someone who confirmed the part was indeed missing from my product and told me he would get with the manufacturer and give me a call back. I wait three days, and call them back because I haven't heard anything. I speak to the previous guy's supervisor and he apologizes and tells me he's sorry that happened and asked what the issue was. So I go through the situation again, he once again verifies that the part I asked about is indeed missing, and writes down my info and says he's going to call the manufacturer and find out what's going on. He will call me back soon. I wait a week, and call them back. I ask to speak to a manager and I am put in touch with Kimberly. She was very nice on the phone, listened to my problem, and verified once again, that the part missing Should have come with the kayak. So she takes down my number, says she will call the manufacturer and says she will call me back. I ask her how long it would be before I could hear back from her. She says 10-15 minutes, but it took almost 2 hours, but hey, at least she called me back, right? She informs me that I need to call the manufacturer myself because they need the serial number. ... You're saying Dick's doesn't have the serial number on file somewhere? And they couldn't order the part, and have it shipped to my house? Perhaps someone who doesn't know what customer service is, let me spell it out for you: When you, the provider screw up, you have to make it right, "and then some". (Especially after what they put me through.) - Otherwise people get angry and write scathing reviews like this that will hinder the future sales of your store. I have wasted several hours of my time trying to correct this error, and will have to install something that should have come with the product myself. It was like pulling teeth to get any sort of help out of these folks. I also had to spend about 20 minutes on hold on the manufacturer's warranty support line. I have not been here for awhile, so after going to a store next door I wandered in to take a look. I noticed immediately that the store was looking a bit worn down since my last visit. I also noticed that the arrangement of items was different, so I was going to need some assistance. (Note: Golf and soccer items are up front if you have an interest in that). I stood and was looking at signs in the store and then began walking. This was a Saturday, and there were virtually no customers. I walked passed and paused near employees a few times, but none acknowledge my presence or asked if they could help. I will say that all of them were restocking in the aisles rather than chatting on their cell phone as is so common nowadays. I decided "no worries" as I was not in a hurry and toured the aisles. While I noticed that a number of items were higher priced than other brands of stores, people would probably pay that rather than spend the time and gas to go other locations. That is why I give it 3 stars rather than 2. I understand. I would soon be returning to main Austin and knew exactly where to go. The place seemed to have dropped a bit in its enthusiasm and seems to be heading the clothes direction and the sports an afterthought. I do hope to return in the future and see that it has returned to its former glory. read more

Finally got to see what all the hype was about. Dick's Sporting Goods in the Hill Country Galleria (Bee Cave) has opened. I received a buy $25 or more and get $10 off coupon in the mail. I didn't use it. Very disappointing. Perhaps we are spoiled here with Academy? It seemed to have some of the higher end Academy products, but only the higher priced brands and without the Academy discounts. And it had none of the mid price or low price brands. He made us walk all the way back to the item to verify that the sticker did say $14.99, and they had already changed out the sticker. I wish I could rate this company 0 stars. First, I have concerns about the customer service at this store. Every time I enter the hunting department half of the ammo is not priced. How is a customer supposed to shop in any store without knowing what they will pay at the register? A store is not shoppable with missing labels. I would assume Dicks has a price auditing program which tells me this company is very poorly managed. The pricing issues are compounded by another problem. The associates are always in another department chatting about personal things. They can't be bothered to interrupt their conversation to greet customers who walk past them. The only time anyone asks how you are doing is when you're exiting the store with empty hands. If you do check out at the register with ammo you are required to show ID and answer a question. "Are you a US Citizen/Resident Alien? EXCUSE ME? I avoided this company for several years after the Sandy Hook shooting when they decided to make a political statement against the second amendment and remove rifles from their shelves at the request of the Obama administration. I see that I made a mistake giving these guys a second chance. The only reason to enter this store is location but I will make the extra drive to Academy from now on for the better prices and better management. This is a review on their shoe department. I've gone in about 10 times in the last 6 months and they NEVER have my size 7 shoe size. Today I decided to order a pair online since the store didn't have my size. I was unable to use the Dick's coupons they mail out and customer service said Nike shoes were excluded...yet I just used my coupons online a little over a month ago on Nike Metcon's! Makes no sense. Their customer service can definitely be better in their shoe dept. Sometimes they act like they're to busy to help or there's no one there! I know it's a big box store, and I don't usually like to write about them, but I've been happy shopping here. The sales are really great; I just got Aasics training shoes for $45 (from a clearance table). I also got several travel clothes items, all on sale and at good prices. The floor staff and cashiers are friendly and helpful. The people in the shoe department are right on it; I've never had to wait for help. You can get a discount card for additional savings and coupons, and it comes in many forms but I like the little sticker that you can just put on the back on any credit card, very cool.
