My father bought an exercise machine from these guys and arranged for delivery. He warned the guys when they delivered there were stains. The delivery person arrived and it was 1 guy to bring the giant machine up 2 flights of stairs. He said he needed another person and they would call back and left the huge thing in the garage. Well it has been about a month, 7 different phone calls, several canceled appointments and the thing is still in the garage. I know that the delivery company is not a Dicks company HOWEVER they still chose to employee these incompetent boobs and have not really been helpful in getting this issue fixed. Do not buy from them unless it is something you can carry home yourself. I hope they learn from this and get a better delivery service. read more

The majority of this store's inventory are clothing and accessories displayed throughout the store. Furthermore, the camping equipment inventory is minuscule compared to the two-stories' worth of clothing; disappointingly, only about 300-375 square feet was dedicated to camping equipment consisting of repeated inventory of mostly tents and sleeping bags. I wanted to buy either a Zodi hot shower or Camp Chef 10-liter hot shower on demand system but, sadly, the inventory doesn't meet my critical needs buying the necessary survival camping equipment. Therefore, I deduce this story caters to the weekend family outing customers only; forsaking the serious survivalist willing roughing it for weeks, months, and years away from home. This store is a far cry from Cabelas and REI; prices are reasonable but, the inventory selection must be seriously be triaged and balanced-otherwise, this store will surely will be experiencing stock-turning within months! read more

The manager (Thomas) at this location allows his leads (Nico) to argue and disrespect customers for inquiring about prices. I have never seen an employee speak to customers like that in front of management. Thomas needs to be retrained and he needs to understand how to deescalate situations. Awful process for such a big company! Ordered a bike for curbside pick up on Thursday, received an e-mail Friday it was ready, drove all the way to Daly City to pick it up, and the store was close (the website said open til 9!) So, I drove back in Saturday to pick up. I went in, and they sent me to the bike section. When I got up there, I see the bike in the box still. We spoke to the guy working and he claimed they left a voicemail to let me know the bike wouldn't be ready til 6/10, which I never received . Why would you send an e-mail saying the order is ready if it's not?! Also, I'm pretty sure they don't call or leave messages. They just say they do. I would expect this from mayyyybe a small shop, but a huge store like Dick's?! Unreal. I cannot wait for the other stores to open up so we can avoid Dick's altogether! read more

Was bicycling in Serramonte area when front hydraulic brake lost pressure. Came in here because they offered bicycle service. Bike service people refused to work on bike because it was an e-bike -- Even though it has the same hydraulic brakes as any other bike. It was rainy, and I was concerned about my safety, and they still refused to help. read more

I normally like this store but last week I went there with a friend to look at roller skates. The only pair they had in my size were used. The wheels were dirty and there was Christmas wrapping still stuck to the torn box it came in. I thought maybe it's marked down due to their condition. I went to ask the register staff and no they were full price. Any attempt I made to see if they would drop down the price and staff would look away or give me the, "I just work here" look. But isn't that why I am talking to her about it in the first. Thank you anyways Dicks the poor customer service helped me find out about Impala skates, which I got new for less then half what your store was asking for a used product. read more

Honestly it was probably the worst packaging job I have ever seen. For the amount of money I spent on the yeti cooler I was expecting the item to be delivered un damaged. If I could mark zero stars I would. Here's my experience. On the phone: I called the store around noon last Sunday and asked for the golf department. I was transferred to someone named Thomas, and I asked him if this store offers grip replacement. He said he does. I said great. What time do you close? He said 7. I responded by saying ok, sounds good. I'll be there before then. He replied, saying we'll make sure you come before 7. I said oh, is there a specific person that does it that leaves at a particular time. He said no, but we're not going to do it a couple of mins before we close. I said ok, I'll come earlier. My experience on the phone made me feel uncomfortable. I thought the kind of response provided was boarder line snarky, making me feel that I was a burden to him. In the store I arrive at the store around 230/3. I went upstairs to the golf department. There were no employees around except someone providing golf instructions to a customer. After waiting a few mins, he comes out, grabbing an item for his client. I asked him if there was someone else available for a club regrip. He said no, I'm the only one, and this isn't my department. They're short-staffed today, and I'm in the middle of helping this customer. I'm not usually in this department, but I'm helping out. I said no problem. I spoke to someone on the phone who said to come down for a regrip. He said I don't know who you talked to, but no one can do it today. You'll have to come back Monday. I asked if there was someone to who he thought I may have spoken. He said to go downstairs and talk to Thomas, the department manager. (Which I thought was weird because if the department was short staffed and he was the only one and it's not the usual depart, why wouldn't Thomas be there to help other customers.) So I went downstairs and found someone in a green shirt and said I was told to ask for Thomas. I'm here to regrip my golf club. Someone got on the radio and said if anyone is out there to re-grip a golf club. Thomas, are you there? So I'm not sure who responded on the radio back, but I can only assume it was Thomas. I'm not sure what was said, but the person I asked for Thomas said sorry, you'll have to come back tomorrow. There's no one here to do a regrip. I responded by saying I spoke to someone on the phone, and they said they provided this service and were told to come down to the store. I come all the way down to the store, and now you're telling me that you can't do it. He responded by getting on the radio and saying Thomas, and he said he spoke to you. After he said that then I was directed back upstairs because he said he was going to meet me. So I'm upstairs and waiting for Thomas. Thomas came around and said are you here for a regrip. I said yes. He said ok, what grip do you want. I gave him a grip and then asked would you recommend a medium or a regular. He said it's whatever you like. He gave no insight into the product or explained the difference of why someone picks a medium or standard grip. I think that if this person is a departmental manager of the golf department, shouldn't he know the product and be able to provide further explanation of why someone chooses regular and medium grip? At that point, I just wanted this experience to be over with. After a few mins, he's done, takes me downstairs, and we proceed to checkout. Overall thoughts and comments Overall this was my first time at Dicks Sporting Goods. It wasn't the best. It all started on the phone. I was provided with no apology or explanation of why I had to fight to get help even though I was told to come down to the store. I felt that I was met with opposition every step and felt like a burden. The regrip only took a few mins. Why was there such a hassle for a procedure that takes a couple of minutes? read more

I learned more from Noel than I ever did from other shoe stores or at REI. Dick's Sporting Goods will be my new place to shop for shoes as long as Noel is there! This review is for the bike department. I am new to biking and was shopping for a bike. I was also very serious about buying one that very day. Anyways, I arrive at the store, and I was just looking at a few bikes. I accidentally pressed a gear on a bike. I didn't do it to all the bikes, I wasn't abusing any bikes, I just did it to one bike, one time. The guy at the bike department comes up to me and gets mad at me for doing that. In front of my girlfriend. I was totally embarrassed. Then walks off. Anyways, the guy didn't even offer to help me with a purchase. I am sorry, but if your store is selling the actual bikes it has on display, then maybe you shouldn't sell what are now obviously used demo model bikes. Keep them in the back as inventory. That is what all the smart retailers do. This is why retail is dead because of careless sales people like the guy who works at the bike department. How about this, offer to help your customers? Don't put them down! I didn't even get any assistance from the sales person to help me do what they are paid to do, sell stuff. I swear, this is why I now buy off Amazon. What is the point? You go into a store and don't even get service. Most of the sales associates just stay to themselves and when they do come to you, its usually so they can find something for you because their store looks like a mess. They don't offer any actual valuable intelligent information on any product or service. How can you trust a sales person who is 200 plus pounds overweight working in the store for advice? You know none of these people at the store even take part in the sports inside the store. Just arrogant attitudes. This is what Dicks stock price looks like. Only a matter of time. Think about it, the store is HUGE, there are not enough sales people, the sale people all are horrible, the store is a mess, the store is also over stocked. No one is buying in the store. I think this review is pretty similar to other reviews. I get about 6 emails from dick's promoting sales with in-store coupons. So I think great, I will go out of my way to get some heavy a** Olympic plates. I checked their website and it shows in Stock. I went there and asked the friendly cashier if they had any 45lb Olympic Plates left. She called for another guy who took about 5 minutes to come out and help me. I asked him if he had any more of the plates in stock. He simply said "if it's not out, we are PROBABLY out." Mixed reviews here. First, i tried making an online purchase to get picked up at the Daly City store. I tried doing this because: a) wanted to just pickup the item quickly, b) take advantage of the 15% off online orders. That didn't go well. Online order will not go thru after several attempts and even calling their 877 number and the Serramonte local number to no avail. One star If I could give the website zero start, I would. Second, when I called the local Serramonte store, the staff were very helpful even though I was transferred to a different department/person. Patrick was kind enough to help and find the product for me which I tried getting online. He reserved the item for me and instructed me to just pick it up at the counter. We were fortunate enough to work with Noel in the Shoe Department. We gave him our shoe size, width and what we needed. He put the information into his computer and told us that someone in the back would look for the shoe and bring them out to us shortly. We were in luck because he had the shoes we were looking for. Stay away from this store. Between 3-4 months ago, my friend and I were browsing in this store and came across a counterfeit jersey. It was blatantly obvious, but someone got fooled and took this item as a return and put it back on the salesfloor. Most likely someone took an authentic jersey and returned a fake one. Well we tried to help by taking it off the floor and alerting the employee at the checkout. They seemed kind of bewildered and somewhat indifferent to the situation, but said they'd let management know. Well flash forward to now which is several months later. We went shopping at Dick's again and came across that same exact jersey!!! It is STILL sitting on the salesfloor with the $265.00 price tag. AND it's all falling apart now. Come on now?! A bright red counterfeit jersey with faded fake tags and fake patches falling off the jersey and it's STILL on the floor? That says enough about the management of this store and how much they care. If I could give no stars I would...Place is huge and nice and flashy, but it's too darn expensive. It has a wide variety of options for any sport, but it's not any cheaper than sports authority. Big 5 might even save you a couple bucks if you're willing to check. I think I'll pass on spending 40 dollars on a pair of basketball shorts. I have gone 6 times and not once have I been greeted. I thought they were supposed to have great customer service, but it's quite the contrary. I have not been helped or asked to find anything. I'm not much for interacting with workers while is hope anyways, but it's the thought that counts, right? Stick to buying ONLINE or head to an outlet and it will save you a ton of money. NOT MUCH "SPORTS" I was expecting this place to be a Sports Basement + Sports Authority on steroids, yet it was more like a big5's big brother. You will see upon entry it is mainly a department store for sports clothing. All "sports" stuff could be bought at target like camping gear, weights, etc. They do have nice work out clothing, mainly Nike. I'll give them kudos for that... But the price is still pricy. I was hoping for scuba diving gear but only saw snorkel items. MIND YOU, snorkeling goggles and fins are NOT the same as diving mask and fins. I really like the Golf department at Dick's. They seem to know what they are doing. Changing grips is done instantly (while you shop in the mall). The crew is top class and friendly. I got my grips changed multiple times and they were patient with my multiple requests and got it right (waived off the fees the last time). read more

After making the trip out and driving to pick up those items, they informed me that the website was incorrect and they were actually out of stock.
