Update: I had to return the sneakers. Unfortunately, they weren't as educated as I thought. I had very clearly told him I'm not a runner and I go for walks. My feet were killing me and felt like I had no support. I went to a small business sneaker place instead, and they explained that the sneakers I was paired with weren't great for my feet, didn't support how I walk, and are meant for runners who do little to no walking during their runs. Thankful to have found another place that was knowledgeable and paired me with sneakers that actually work for me. My Dick's Sporting Goods experience was still full of friendly staff and a clean and organized store. This location is clean and organized, full of friendly and helpful staff, and has a wide variety of options to choose from. I recently went to buy a pair of sneakers and Branden so kindly helped me find the pair that was best for me. I went to Dick's in Danvers at 10:30 am on 7/28/2025 to get a fishing license. Knowing no one would be findable in the fishing department, I asked the front desk to page somebody to meet me there. I was met by a kid in training that couldn't do fishing licenses. I had to push hard on the absurdity that no one in the store could get me a license. After three managers, trying to figure it out, one thanked me for my patience, of which I had already lost. When I responded with "As long as you all think it's f***ing absurd no one in the store can do a fishing license". All three managers stopped what they were doing to reprimand me for swearing, cause that was way more important than actually providing services. Unbelievable. read more

A tall, darkhaired young man with glasses also helped, in fact, he found the correct size and style shoes my husband was looking for. Awful customer experience. Bought two kids soccer shirts for $115 each. They wore them ONE time before the letters started peeling off. The manager Justin could not have been less helpful. Everyone around saw how poor quality the shirts were and I just wanted an exchange. Terrible business and even worse customer service starting with the manager. This was all after I was told I could make the exchange no problem by floor associate and proceeded to wait in line for 25 minutes. It is sad to see this happen and what a waste of money. Came in today to get Lacrosse cleats - spoke to a sales person (SP), provided the shoe and the size, he looked in handheld computer - found a 1/2 size bigger, we said ok that we wanted to try it, , SP asked for name - we gave the name. We stood around for about 20 minutes and no one had come with the shoes. Another SP, was providing help and ask him about our order, he looked in the hand held computer and he said there's was no order for us- he asked what the SP looked like, told him, walked away and never came back out. Placed an order, paying for same day delivery along with a tip for the driver. It was never delivered. I phoned customer service the next day and was basically told there was nothing I could do! Too late to cancel and tracking simply showed the order was "preparing for delivery". Never again will I purchase from Dick's. read more

Went to DSG in Danvers to get supplies for baseball. All went well until we went to the shoe department to look at cleats. They should have a sign there that says "Abandon all hope ye who enter here. They have this system where you scan a QR code, you check inventory online and in theory some one will bring out the shoes to try on. This only works if the inventory is correct, it wasn't, and if the shoes arrive before you forget what you asked for and they didn't. All in all a sad experience. Not going there again. read more

The bathrooms in this place are fitting for a place called Dick's. I'm talking caked on urine on the seats from years of neglect. I've seen bus stations with cleaner bathrooms. They really put the DICK in Dick's Sporting. I went there to buy fishing rods & reels, the rods we picked weren't priced. So I spent about 5 minutes looking for employees. Finally found employee #1 who wouldn't call an additional employee or help with the price check bc he was with someone. Asked me "if he could get back to his real work". Wandered around, finally found employee #2, he said he was too busy to help. If your employees are too busy to assist, why wouldn't you make sure to price items for sale? Not to mention being unnecessarily rude. We frequently shop there & never will return again. read more

This store is unbelievable! First off they had NO flyers in the store to check any advertisments. You have to search and find what you are looking for, somethings on high shelves. Trying to find items that are advertised is near impossible. At the check out, you have to fight to get what the item is going for. An alarm tag wouldn't come off and I was asked to go look for another one myself! This place is not long for business! read more

Went in once, won't go in again. I went in for 2 reasons: 1. Check out their Maui Jim sunglasses; and 2. See if they had any good markdowns on winter stuff. I did have to flag someone down to check the shades but once I got her she was very helpful. The markdowns weren't impressive. I'll actually spend a lot of money. I just like good value but I wasn't excited about anything I saw. Take my review for what it's worth, though. I just might not be their target customer. I can't see spending top dollar for all this mass produced stuff when I can either get it cheaper online, or last years model on Craigslist; often, for deep discounts. I can see going here for a one-time thing if you can't find it anywhere else or if you can't wait to find it at a better price. But to go here regularly just strikes me as a serious disservice to your wallet. You're on the internet, right? Instead of over-spending at Dick's, do a little online research first. read more

The store is quite large, two stories in fact. First floor seems to be primarily clothing, footwear, and some sports sections. I was there for some clothing and fitness gloves. There was quite a variety of clothing for men, but sizes are limited to 2XL and even 2XL is limited. There is a significant quantity of sizes smaller than Large. It was difficult to navigate through the different sections of clothing and the prices weren't easily visible. When I say difficult to navigate I mean that there is hardly enough room to walk around the racks of clothing. The store certainly has more clothing racks than they have staff on duty. I spent 10 minutes looking for a floating staff member and finally found one. When I received his assistance, he was very helpful and informative. Second floor is loaded with different types of sports accessories. I found a pair of gloves, not the ones I wanted, but was able to pickup a pair. After buying those though, I found the pair I wanted on Dick's website, so will return the pair to the store. If you're looking for a local sporting goods store, this is the next best choice with a huge variety of sports accessories and clothing. Dick's also has a rewards card where you earn for every dollar spent. For what I was looking to buy at the store and the amount it took to do so (about 45 mins), it was faster for me to go to their website and find everything than it was to walk around the store looking for assistance or attempting to navigate through the tightly placed clothes racks. It should have only taken 15 minutes or less at the store. read more

This location is giganticenormoushuge with a mountain which you can climb up which obviously this store was built around. Actually it is rock climbing wall which seems to attract kids both young and old to test their skills. There is a tremendous amount of sporting goods here. You want to snow board? fly fish? Camp? Soccer? Hockey? I think you get the idea that they will have you covered. I recently resumed my running career and found some great bargins on running shows and Nike+Ipod which is my new favorite toy. During a recent visit I noticed multiple items did not have prices on or anywhere near them. It wasn't until I reached the register that I learned the price of an item, and often times they are overpriced unless on clearance. They did institute a change to their policy...no more military discounts. Were they getting slammed with military customers to the degree it was cutting into their profit margin? My son asked me to take him fishing but I am no fisherman. We went to Dicks and an older gentleman with a white beard in the fishing department helped us. Despite the fact that it was extremely busy he got us everything we needed and explained how to use it. He moved very quickly so to not keep any other customers waiting but made sure we know how to use everything he sold us. He was a dynamo. What a mess- I went in today to purchase a pair of sneakers- the sneaker department was in total disarray, disorganized and poorly stocked, there was no staff, the store was crowded- and messy. Had I not known better, it looked like Christmas week. Not an excuse. Unfortunately, there are no sports stores left- despite my need for new sneakers, I left. So while at Dicks sporting goods today I was behind an old man in his late 70s or so. Apparently he had mistskenly checked the wrong box on the ffl form while trying to purchase a rifle for his grandson. The Dicks representative spotted the mistake before he ran the paperwork and elder gentelman apologized and informed the clerk that is eyesight wasn't that great. At this point the clerk told him i was ok and that he was going to call his supervisor to see if there was a way to correct the form to eliminate the need to fill it out again. To my suprise the "supervisor" folded the ffl form in half and told the old timer without elaborating why that he was no longer allowed buy a firearm at Dicks ever again. The older gentelman I assume believeing he was joking, as was I, gave a chuckle. The supervisor then asked the man what he found so funny and informed him it wasnt his fault if didnt know how to fill out a simple form. The older gentelman to his credit simply turned and walked away. He has more control than I as I didnt hold back with the supervisor exactly how I felt about the situation and walked out myself. Came here today to buy bikes and had the best experience. The lady that works in the bike area is so knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. She took her time explaining what would we best for our needs and fine tuning the bicycles before we got home. We really appreciated the advice. An extra bonus is that the clearance section upstairs has SUCH good deals! While my bike was being tuned up, I got a few Red Sox shirts (cute ones!) for $5!! read more

This AMAZING visit was after a horrific visit to the Saugus ma store. I visited Saugus to purchase some equipment for my nonprofit that I am starting. I am a wife of a deployed active duty Sgt. in the Airforce. I am offering free training services to mothers on our military base since there is not childcare facilities. before children I was a Crossfit coach in Hawaii and we were a community that athletes brought their kids. Since I am unable to find anything like this I decided to start my own Crossfit box at a small scale to give back. ( sorry for the back story). I was at Saugus And saw a price on a power rack that was very low, I inquired to see if it was by chance accurate. To my surprise it was! It was on claps out due to a new model coming. So I said I'll buy it! They checked said they had it in stock and when I went to pay they said nope only have the half rack and it's twice the price. I asked if I could buy the floor model and was told its a process that goes through corprarte. I said that's fine I can be patient if it means a savings. The associate said its a long hard process I said ok! What do we need to do? He then said its not possible. I'm pretty frustrated at this point since I would never be able to afford the regular price and I have been through 3 associates at this point, all who are treating me like I'm a burden for trying to purchase this item. I said to the associate I have purchased floor models in the past and if you can't help me I totally understand but i would like to speak to who can, he gets on his walkie talkie and calls for a manager and says this woman doesn't want to listen to me can someone come talk to her. I thanked him for his help and said I appreciate it, his reply was no you don't, I've done this 11 years no one does! I decided to walk to the counter and wait for management. The manager comes and said after hearing my story we will take your info and call you when we can sell it. He has the same guy who told me I don't care write my name and number and didn't write any other info . I never got a call I'm sure it was thrown out. I also wrote corporate and never heard. Fast forward a few stores later I am at this store and not only am I treated like royallty by Dru and Lucy they told the manager Alison what happened and what I was trying to do for the spouses on my base she said I can't match the price but I can come close! I was so over whelmed I cried lol. They were amazing. I also purchased other items, and had a great experience w Brittany at the register. I can't say enough about the customer service, and positive energy. It truly gave me faith in dicks again. I also went to the Nashua store and had an awesome time there too! This store is massive! It's worth driving a little further past the Dick's Sporting Goods in the Square One Mall and heading over to this location instead. There seemed to be a huge selection in each department and whole displays dedicated to North Face, Columbia, etc. We were there checking out snorkel gear and despite it being September when we visited, they still had a ton of stuff! We got pretty excited when it looked like everything would be 25% off but when we flagged down an employee, we were disappointed. The signage was misleading by being deliberately unclear. It was obvious that it was a transition time in the store as they were starting to create winter sport displays one of which was for Columbia's heat reflecting foil shirts. I asked an employee about how they worked and he explained that all he knew about the shirts was "that you put them on". Finally, he asked the other employee (who had previously helped us with the snorkel gear) who was able to explain the technology the shirts use. For such a large store, it didn't seem like there were very many employees available to customers... read more

I went to this location to find equipment and the sales people were particulaly helpful in pointing out all the pros and cons of each piece with keeping my budget in mind. They were helpful and I had a lot of questions so they did help a lot. The store was organized and very big with lots and lots of selection and I did find the prices to be competative. The prices aren't always the best, but if you're into one stop shopping, as something I am, this is the place to try. The service isn't always the best. There are times when I deal with a business and come to wonder how they stay afloat. I bought and paid for an elliptical last week. Scheduling the deliver and assembly while in the store took almost 30 minutes. Delivery window was between 9-12. Get a call at 11:30. The driver is late. After spending the first half of the day waiting for the delivery now they wanted me to wait a few more hours. They called back shortly after trying to reschedule for later in the week, a day which I repeatedly told them I couldn't accept. Two days and three hours of phone calls, automated menus and transfers later I finally spoke to a human being. A person who couldn't care less about customer service. I guess $120 for delivery doesn't buy any either. I gave up. I cancelled my order and bought it somewhere else. With so many other options I will never again waste my time or spend my money at this place. read more

I had ordered a sports bra (Calia by Carrie Underwood) online, which I didn't know at the time is carried by Dick's Sporting Goods. When it arrived it still had the security tag on it. I called the 800 number and spoke to a very nice woman, Pamela. We decided the best way to resolve it was for me to bring it to a near by Dick's (Danvers location for me) to have the tag removed and she said she would also arrange to have a $25 gift card waiting for me for the inconvenience. I thought that was great and thanked her and we hung up. About 10 minutes later, Jeff, the manager at Dick's in Danvers, called me and said he was very very sorry this happened to me and that he didn't want me to have to wait any longer to enjoy my gift, not mention having me take any of my time up coming to the store. He said he would arrange to have one of his employees to come to my house, remove the tag AND deliver me the gift certificate! Within 30 minutes Becca was at my house, tag removed!! This whole experience couldn't have gone any better as far as I am concerned! Jeff was awesome and professional and Becca was so so sweet!!! And gotta say thanks to Pamela (online rep) who got this whole party started!!! Will definitely be recommending Dick's Sporting Good!!! read more

January sales appear everywhere. But what appears to be on sale may be just mislabeled. Two of four items we brought to checkout at Dick's today rang up twice as expensive as marked. A pair of Reebok women's 3/4 length pants rang up at $40, not $ 17.99 as the sign said. Clerk confirmed these pants were priced at 40, but did not explain why the misleading sign was on the pants rack. A display of swim goggles showed a pair priced at $19.99, marked down from $24.99, but the goggles rang up at $37. It turned out they were on the wrong pin - no price on the item and no way to check. Sports clothing is so overpriced -- it's made in countries that don't get to keep much of the sales price and hyped for "performance" qualities that are pure baloney. But Dick's management seems to use "pretend" sales and misleading pricing to induce customers to buy more than they otherwise would. I wish we had a tougher consumer protection office to stop this practice at Dick's Sporting Goods in Danvers. read more

There isn't enough staff for such a large store, and they aren't readily available to help. If you placed an online order for pickup, expect to wait at least 15 minutes standing there like a fool. And this is on a Monday. Not to mention most of the staff can't answer basic questions about equipment. The only reason they have any stars at all is because the store itself is quality. read more

NO SALESPEOPLE to be found on the 2nd floor; people putting fingers thru locked cages with weapons in them; kids on treadmills unattended and for now, amazingly unhurt. Returning to the downstairs, I found a sales person, Carrie, who was extremely helpful and apologetic because they are 'short staffed'...how about NO staff. I went to Dicks this weekend to purchase ice skates for my daughter. I wanted to have her fitted for skates, however there were no sales people available to help. I scouted around for 15 minutes and finally located a Dick's employee, when I asked him for help he stated that he was just stocking the shelves and couldn't help me? Seriously, he had a Dicks tag on. I pulled the sizes needed from the shelf however they only had one chair which was located about 30 feet from the skates. Poorly thought out floor plan. I decided to look at ski gear while we were there however I looked high and low but no skis, boots, or bindings to be found. When I went home and go online, still no ski equipment. What is going on. Olympia Sports is closing and Dicks is stripping the equipment they carry? Where are people purchasing equipment. We have to trek to Main Kittery Trading Post for gear. Unbelievable. read more

don't trust their adds!!!! They email or promote adds, as in holiday specials, that state that they are good until 11:59 that night however it is a bait and switch! When I was trying to order on line (add my items in the cart and needed to go off line for a few hours) went into my cart and my specials disappeared. I called them to ask what has happened as the deals were marketed to be good until 11:59 pm and it was well before that time and they said to me that Dick's Sporting Goods reserves the right to take away and offer at any time. So even though they marketed that the deals were good until 11:59 they are able to revoke the offers at any time. I would think that is illegal and they need to honor their adds. They say this is not so. BUY YOUR SPORTING GOODS ELSEWHERE, you will most likely save money as well. read more
