Don't think you will find camping gear here I don't know why I waste my time going to Dick's Sporting Goods in Fairfield. This is the third and my last time I will go to this store. I was in store doing some last minute Christmas shopping when a security tracker was accidentally left on a jacket I purchased. While looking through my bag for the tracker, the manager helping me (Becky) noticed the shoes I had purchased were mismatched. She ran to the shoe section to fix the error but could not find the correct size. She went out of her way to try and ship it, but eventually found one at the Petaluma location and called them to put it on hold. Everyone I interacted with was funny and friendly, despite being busy due to the Christmas rush. Usaf, Jordan and Becky were amazing and although it could have been a very bad experience their customer service left me smiling as I walked out the door. Living in the country in Northern California leaves me with limited resources when it comes to golf club repairs. Decided to Drive 45 miles to Dicks in Fairfield and glad I did.... I had 8 golf clubs regripped in 3 hours.... Was pleased I didn't have to come back a following day.... Went to lunch and ran a few errands and the clubs were completed as promised..... I had a positive experience at the store today. They had a nice selection of bicycle accessories and the prices were fair. I found sledding equipment that was a good quality also for fair prices. I compared their prices to other sports stores and the basic Target/Walmart and was surprised to find that I got a better deal at this sports store. The staff were friendly and helpful. read more

Ok so hubby got an email in regards to a recall for something he purchased a year or so ago and they returned it no problems (store gift card). While we were there he looked for a replacement, but the bikes caught his eye! They were 1/2 off for the 4th of July weekend, and so he talked to the gentleman (Bob) in the bikes department. For years hubby has tried to get me on a bike, so with that deal and knowing Bob (aka retired owner of Mr.Bicycle that my husband really liked when his shop was open in downtown Fairfield) will be the person building my bike, it was a done deal. We had to go to a bday party, but we went back later that day and talked to Raymond! Raymond arranged to have a bike transferred from another Dick's and within just a couple of days I got my bike! We liked our experience so much we decided to return for a new bike for our daughter a few days later. BTW the security guard is so awesome, I didn't get his name due to him being super busy the last time we saw him, but he has a wonderful accent that suits him well with his extremely friendly personality! He remembered us each time we came in as well and welcomed us each and every time!! The last young man that helped us get our daughters bike down and also checked us out was also super sweet, but I didn't catch his name either due to us being in a rush! So next time your bike shopping check them out first and make sure you talk to Bob regarding any specific questions...he will let you know what type of bike is best for your individual needs!! First thing I noticed while standing at the gun counter, they have a small selection of guns. The employee was not friendly at all. He looked like he was constipated. I asked to look at a gun. He had to ask another employee for a key to unlock the gun case. I had to show my I.d. before holding the gun. I'm 57 years old, way over 21. I asked the employee if the barrel was 18.5" long. He said yes. I looked on the barrel and read 20" long. This employee nonverbally told me a few things: he shouldn't be working at the gun counter, he shouldn't be working with people and he should take a stool softener. NEVER going back to DICKS. read more

If you're able to avoid this Dicks location, I would highly recommend that. We saw online they had 1 ethos fitness rack "in stock" we called to make sure, the very useless lady who answered the phone immediately responded with "no we don't one" when we questioned why the website said they said one and I was able to buy online she said it was the floor model and not able to be sold... but that's what the website was registering as in stock....now I'm not a merchant expert but I was at a different ( MUCH more friendly) Dicks location yesterday and while personally standing at their floor model and looking online they showed "NOT IN STOCK". So I took my chances and bought the one online and drove an hour to pick up. Spoiler alert, they had one... and not a floor model. So basically the employees are absolutely no help. Also if have you use their restroom and ask an employee where they are, they will tell you, but when you get to them, you need a code to get in.... why would this employee not mention that?????? So we found a different employee and asked for the lock code he said he can't give it out, but walked us there and was less than friendly.... just avoid this Dicks. read more

December 8th 2017 , looking for a youth right handed first baseman's mitt . it's ok if you don't carry them I guess , even though you are a sporting goods store . I had to ask for help even though there was a Dick's employee standing 10 feet from me . The mouth breather didn't even know what a first baseman mitt was ( I'm not exaggerating breathing out of his mouth ) . he called another kid over that kid said" I should go on line and buy one " didn't even bother to go look for one in the back , or look on the computer just nothing !! I saw that pump action shot gun that was on ad stood at the counter for 10 minutes while the guy behind the counter talked on phone ( not business it was personal) made no eye contact with me till finally I just left. So in conclusion I went there to buy a mitt , a baseball bat , and a pump action shotgun and instead went back to my car and warned all the perspective customers off of this place before it's to late .
