Dick's Sporting Goods in Federal Way is one of the best spots to shop for soccer supplies, camping chairs, and work out gear. They also are incredibly generous and supportive to local youth soccer teams and clubs. They donated 400 balls to Norpoint Soccer Club as well as to their annual fundraiser. Dick's Sporting Good's really gives back to the local community and are a business to support. We come here every season to get new gear for our daughter to use while she plays soccer. The staff here are also really nice, well trained, and very helpful. read more

Everyone that I encountered has asked me the lack of organization for the shoes. I asked an employee if they have the size I need, he scanned it and said there were 2 available but he didn't help me find it but told me that it's on the wall. On the wall there's a bunch of boxes front and back, I had to search on my knees each row to find my size. Same goes for my wife she said that the shoes were unorganized and hard to find the model since it was placed in different spots. Some boxes were scattered for example ghost 15 were mixed with Adrenaline models. Overall at least the staff were friendly. read more

Stopped by here midweek to get my daughter some soccer gear as this was the only store that had any cleats in her size and color in stock. Walked in and went straight to the soccer section and it was a mess! I walked to the front and asked for help. The front end manager (i think) appeared to be training someone and said she would call someone to go and help me. The person she appeared to be training, Ethan, took initiative and said he could help me! Great! Ethan was extremely helpful in assisting me with everything we were looking for...down to the pink socks!He didn't hesitate to ask for extra help when I asked him about how the shin guards should fit my little one. As a mother with her hands full I GREATLY appreciated Ethans help today. If he hadn't of spoke up, I feel like I would have been waiting in the mess of a soccer section there! T was also super helpful when I was looking around at some kids clothes and offered helpful advice when I asked about some pants. I understand how messy working in retail can be but I feel like someone there should give the soccer section a little TLC! Went in hoping to find some clothes for the new school year and I found these Nike sweatpants. As soon as I got home from purchasing these, I let them sit on my desk waiting for a outfit to match these with. Eventually, I found one so I went into the laundry room, read the washing instructions, and followed them accordingly. Remember I nor anyone had worn these a single time. After taking them out of the washer I saw multiple stains scattered across the pants. Extremely frustrating and I am taking them back in hope of a full cash refund or gift card. I will respond with the update when I come back from the store. Regardless of the outcome, completely unprofessional of Dicks Sporting Goods to sell them. Went in and they gave me a full refund. We have been coming to this store forever over 5 years now. This place is always clean and the staff are always friendly. I must admit I don't always know what I am looking for exactly and their staff always know what I am trying to describe. They always have smiles on their faces and seem to be happy to be there. There have been times where their staff even recognizes us and greats us as we come in. We love coming into the store. read more

We don't have Dick's in Hawaii so this was actually my first time going to this sporting goods retail chain. This store is located in the Commons. I'm not sure if it's just this location but it's not a huge store with a lot of selection . The store layout is a bit odd since we were looking for swimming goggles and thought they'd be where the water activity items and outdoor were like kayaks and surfboards. This would make sense right? We didn't find any so we assumed they didn't have any. We couldn't find anyone to help us while we were looking around. As we were walking out, we spotted a bunch of them in the weightlifting area. I went to go string my racket on Tuesday to see when I can get this done. They said "Friday by the latest." I thought that was perfect. I went in this morning on Saturday to pick it up. An employee comes out and starts staring me down and keeps repeating in an irritated attitude "I always call people when it's done." I walked out afterwards but h kept staring me down until I left the store. What did I do to deserve this? Although customer service is by far the worst, the price isn't too bad stringing. My daughter was looking for soccer shoes and the young man in shoes was very helpful brought bringing her shoes to try. The shoes she was originally looking into he said they did now have however this young man tracked a pair down for her! The checkout was a bit slow but we didn't have to wait that long. Terrible communication. We took our bikes in expecting they would need an overhaul after sitting out in the weather. Dropped them off 2/23, and were told they would be done in 3 days. I asked for the bike technician to call me. They took no information, beyond what they had me scribble on a torn post it from my purse. The bike guy was a wok everytime I called until 3/9 when he called me and told me the bikes should be replaced, the repairs would be too much. When we picked the bikes up today, the bike guy was nice, but admitted that no the repairs would not have cost more then the $1000 each bike cost. Had he asked about the repairs we wanted, we would have been happy to spend the money needed. Miscommunication runs rampant here. read more

I bought golf shoes at the federal way location and wanted to exchange them after using them once at the driving range. Mind you I was not looking to take my money away from the sale but rather exchange them for a different pair that was even more expensive. First manager told me I can exchange them then another manager comes by and tells me I can't because they were worn. WORST customer service I had at a store. The team was not communicative, I had to wait well 2 other employees were just talking. I'm sorry but Dicks is a multi million dollar company and if they cannot provide customer service then any customers dollar should not be spent their. After a poor experience at 2 other Dick's Sporting Goods stores, I found one that was an example of what Customer Service is all about. After calling into this store , the associate was not able to locate the cleats I was looking for at the previous stores. Instead of just saying that they did not have them shoes, he went onto the public website and confirmed that they should be there but also took my number and said that he would continue to look. I figured he just blew it off but about 15 minutes later he called and let me know that he found the cleats and they would be waiting at the front counter for me. We drove to pick them up and sure enough they were at the front desk with my number in the package but they also looked up my Rewards Card number on the package as well. This store set the standards for Customer Service that other two stores should have done. Good job Federal Way store. read more

On Sunday around 2 I went to the shoot apartment and sat down on a bench for nearly 25 minutes waiting for friends. While I waited there were 2 women standing at the computer in front of me seemingly oblivious to my presence. The 2 of them seemed to be musing over something they were looking at on the computer almost as though they were shopping. When my friends arrived we continued to look for probably another 25 minutes until we finally left. The interesting thing is that the 2 of them did not ask us if we needed any help.. I did not have a good experience here. Mostly because of the sales staff. While I was browsing the clearance section, a young man came up to me and asked if I needed some help. Mind you, he was not wearing a name tag, nothing to identify that he actually worked there (but a football jersey shirt was supposed to do the trick, I guess). He asked if I was only interested in clearance stuff, and I said yes, mostly. "Well, what brands do you like? We have Nike, Reebok, Under Armor..." "Well, I don't really care about brands, just so long as it fits." *blank stare* "Under Armor is over there, here's Nike..." For changing rooms, you're only allowed three items at a time, and I was told by someone else that I would be "allowed" to take my purse in with me. Really? Wow. How gracious of you. :( After making some decisions on what to buy, I found a wall of sports bras. Nothing in my size, and while I was sitting there trying to find something I liked, not a single person came over to help me. Not a one. I will not be going back due to poor customer service. Love this new sporting goods store!! It makes Big 5 look like Goodwill. It is the Nordstrom/Neiman Marcus of sporting goods stores! Needed some camping gear for little one to go on a Girl Scout Camping Trip (not me, I'd rather go to jail for the weekend). We are quickly helped and found 3 options of what we were looking for and they were all cheaper than Walmart and much better quality. Employees were super helpful and friendly. Could spend $1000's in this store and not even blink. The store itself is gorgeous (unlike the rest of the Commons.....). Will definitely be back! I will need some discounts/coupons to make it more reasonable (and they do seem to email a lot of them and have some great sales!) read more

Do to Dick's being anti-American I have cut my annual spending from $800 average down to $200. I wish it was even less than that but I caved for fishing tackle. Fortunately I've found other stores that do sell what I need and are close by. I'm hardly going to make a difference alone but from what I've heard from friends and family I'm far from the only one. This location has slim to none customer service, slim to none inventory, and seems that every time I'm there has shoplifters inside. Also while checking out, the cashier charged us three times for one item. Luckily my wife caught the mistake right after we walked out. After standing in line for 20 minutes to return an unwanted Christmas gift, I was told, by the manager, "you need to get back in line and wait for that register (pointing to another register)". By now, the line was wrapped around the store. Got back in line and waited (letting people go in front of me for about 10 minutes since I had to wait for a specific register). I get there and I'm told my options are to put the money back on the original card (it was a gift so I didn't have the card) or get a gift certificate although I had the gift receipt. read more

I was in town for work and just needed some under armor for a evening run in the rain. I was a little hesitant to even stop by because of some of the negative customer service reviews but needed something. Unfortunately they did not have what I wanted in the right size but I gotta say customer service was good. I was greeted at the door and asked if I needed anything. She directed me to the right section and when the garment didn't fit she looked in the back and on some other racks for the right size. The new store is a great addition to bringing some life to the Commons mall. There really isn't anything spectacular about it to differentiate it from other Dick's. Despite everything being new and clean - the reason why this place fell short of more stars is my personal experience. I came here on black Friday to purchase a new Remington 870 Express (synthetic black) as it was advertised for $229 with a $25 mail in rebate. There wasn't a line to get in but there was a line to get assistance with a new gun purchase. Not a big deal. It was roughly a 40 minute wait to get some assistance - after filling out all necessary paperwork we waited around for another hour or so to wait for clearance to purchase a firearm. A little over an hour later the system must have been overloaded as it was returned with a delayed status. Still not a big deal - I opted to have them call me as soon as it cleared. The (dept) manager said he'd reserve the price for me as well as the gun seeing that it was a one day sale only. I got the call the next day and returned that evening. Filling out a few additional paperwork... a box of my new shotgun came out. We requested the box to opened up so i can test fit it in a case I planned on purchasing. When we opened the box up it was the wrong shotgun. Which normally wouldn't be a big deal but the wrong shotgun was now registered to my name. We had to go through the return process of the gun and redo the registration and application process for another firearm which took even more time. Another hour and a half at the store - we were waiting for an authorized signature on the last document to send me home with my new shotgun that i've been waiting two days for. There was a manager there doing inventory and when the sales rep asked if he had a second to sign off his reply was "no. you can look for the other manager." So we waited another 20 minutes or so before the signature was made. The sale guy George was nice and he took the time to hang out with us and joke around with us to pass all the time spent at this place. We finally were free to go. A walk out the door and a handshake and I was excited to get on home for dinner. Getting home, I put the gun away immediately for dinner and took a look at the receipt and found out I didn't get it for the said sale price. Had to go back AGAIN the next day to get the refund of the difference, in which one employee insisted that we didn't know what we were talking about and didn't seem to care to help us with finding who we needed to talk to, to get help. The manager came and gave us the refund. I went home and opened my box to my new shotgun... only to find... it was still the wrong shotgun. I came for the 870 Express synthetic black model... and I was given an 870 Express wood stock. 3 days of having to come back time and time again... i decided to not even come back a fourth time to see what I had to do again. I'm happy with the purchase overall but the cross check and management could use some help. read more

There is a wide variety of sporting goods from tennis to golf to football. I was shopping in the golf section recently, trying to find women's golf clothing and found that the women's golf section was surprisingly smaller than the men's golf section. The store had about 4-5 different colors of skirts and 1 short color. They also had about 5-6 different color shirts and 3 different style shirt. I found it frustrating to shop with such a small variety of clothing. Otherwise, the store is very nice and has a great staff-customer communication. read more

This place can't get there products under the right price tags! I went to the counter and the price was way over the price listed! Then as I showed the lady she acted as if I carried ten boxes over to get that price!
