I've been shopping at the Marysville store numerous times and I've never seen the manager, I believe his name is David, do anything other than stand at the door "greeting". Why is he not helping in busy sections and leading by example? Additionally, I've seen employees verbally accosted and have overheard employees talking about customers negatively. While I'm sure there are good employees the negative experiences seem to stand out in my mind. I recently went to look at golf clubs and not a single employee checked on me. The hittrax batting cage is totally pointless. They have foam balls rather than baseballs and softballs. How would a hittrax measure the bat performance when you're hitting soft foam balls? female cashier we had a return to do and she looked at all the items and said ok no problem looked at it all no issues. We brought new items up and the cashier then took shin guards and said they are dirty and I said ok well he only tried them on I don't know where dirt came from. He said we'll now we can't sell them and I said how is that my problem. I already have the receipt and they weren't used. He kept saying the same thing over and over. I said just do the return and stop being rude. His "manager" who also I saw talking to employees rudely telling them they needed to make the store not look crappy but was being rude about it. Manager came up yelling to me you need to leave and not doing return. He was very aggressive towards me and made me look stupid. This manager is a tool and needs some serious coaching on not just throwing people out cause you want to throw your "power" around. Shameful service and manager needs a new job. They've got a great collection of soccer cleats. Was looking for a specific model; but they surprised me with their options. Finally picked up a different but a better quality one. Staffs are awesome- they dig in and find out the right sizes from backroom. The guy helped us spent a lot of time finding out the size we were looking for. I had a return that required authorization from a manager. Clayton came to the front and initially denied the return and when I brought up that I had read the return policy and didn't see it the same way he started treating me like trash. After a little more back and forth (the cashier's attitude sucked too), Clayton agreed that it wasn't worth the fight, told the cashier to issue the refund, then walked off muttering under his breath. Very poorly managed location. I tried to return shoes that I wore to the gym once. I was denied and told that they had dirt on the bottom. I told the manager I wore them once, I was met with "there isn't dirt at the gym". I was told that they have to be in "new condition" because they "get put right back on the shelf after a return". I have worked in retail. Items are supposed to be cleaned or shipped back once they are returned. If they actually do just put them back on the shelf that is not hygienic. I would check anything I bought from this store. The manager was insanely rude from the moment she looked at me. I honestly have never been treated so poorly. It's really sad that they put just anyone in management positions. read more

My first mistake was driving 30 minutes to get to the Alderwood Dicks warehouse. My second mistake was driving all the way from Alderwood to the Marysville store to see some binoculars in person. I had just broken a pair and needed them for work. With three cheap pairs locked up on a display with the rest locked up in some unknown cupboard, it was impossible to make a buying decision. The young lady who was trying to help me was nice enough but please don't direct me to your website. If I customer makes the effort to come in to see things in person at least direct them to a nearby store AFTER you confirm they have something. I came in looking for answers and came away empty-handed. I ended up spending $250 4 miles away at Cabela's. I can think of no reason to return to Dicks Sporting Goods. read more

I had a GREAT EXPERIENCE HERE! JASON was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and just so happened to be right there right when I had a question but nowhere in sign when I didn't need help. He even asked to keep my items up front so I didn't have to hold them. I do a TON of shopping and I was very very impressed with all the employees professionalism, store organization, items available in store (except guns n ammo). Henry was super cool as I entered the store and again as I was leaving. Overall a fantastic experience! Please keep up the great work. Just walked out after waiting in line with one cashier working. She was stalled with a problematic order and I think the manager was calling on his radio for someone else to open (don't know why he couldn't do it). I went to the Halloween store next door for 20 min or so and peeked back into Dicks to see if the line went down. Nope. It was way longer with still one cashier. See from the reviews this is a consistent problem. THIS IS WHY AMAZON WILL DESTROY BRICK AND MORTAR. Other people may not walk out of the line but they wont be running to come back. I root for these places but they don't even try. Not talking about the workers really. A lot of the workers helped me on the floor and they were very pleasant. The problems are at the top. I was looking at the ad on-line for the Smokey Point store. It said they carried hunting & fishing supplies. I read in the news a few years ago that Dick's had jumped ship to the Woke bandwagon and got rid of all their black and other scary guns. So I called. The girl said that no, they no longer carry hunting and fishing supplies, but some other stores might. I think she was just guessing. Sure glad I did waste gas at $5+/gal to drive all the way down there. I was just curious anyway. I wouldn't shop any "woke is broke" stores anyway. So don't do this often but I'm really pissed off. I took my kid in there and saw a rack with 50%off and found a cool shirt it was marked $88.00 so I took it to pay for it and rang up at 25% off I nicely informed the teller it was 50% off. Then this guy goes, show me where you found it very rudely by the way. So I took him over and showed him and he started saying and rude statementes even though the same item where there and there where multiple brands on the rack. So I said I need your attitude and that he had very poor customer service. The man kept following me out so I told him to go blank himself. I will never step foot in there again. So rude. read more

Manager left a display from the middle of the store and hovered around me while I was looking at shotguns. She said they didn't price match, which was completely incorrect because Dick's does price match. There was even a sign in front of me that said so. I had never been to this store before, and was looking for protective ear muffs for my baby. I saw online that they sold some, but was lost when I entered the store. An associate greeted me, and I explained what I was looking for. He said that he didn't think they had any in infant sizes, but told which department to check. When I arrived at the correct department another associate war rigging guys ear piece then greeted me and asked if I was the one looking for protective head gear. The other associate had radioed him!! I was very impressed. In the end, they didn't have what I was looking for. But they gave me suggestions and told me where to look. I was on the phone with two different employees this morning, one was named Dean, the other was another guy (forgot his name). I spoke to them about price matching with a Marshal's store of a specific football cleat which Marshal's carried but out of my size. Dick's also carried those cleats which both employees said they would honor regardless of the colorway. They also both said Marshal's was store they would price match because it was a physical store. The other male said he even confirmed with a manager himself that the manager would take care of me. The Marshal's store I found the cleats from were at the Lynnwood location and this Smokey Point Dick's location was the closest Dick's Sporting Goods I could purchase these from. Since both employees confirmed with me they would take care of me as well as telling me that the manager would take care of me, I drove all the way to Smokey Point later excited to finally get the cleats I've been wanting. When I got there, I spoke with both Dean and an operations manager who was a shorter gal who's passion was "kayaking" on their name tag. (Forgot her name as well). I explained the situation and then Dean admits he may have told me wrong, and the operations manager says that they cannot honor me the price just because the cleat was a 2014 model and also because they do not price match Marshal's which was some bs because two employees already said on the phone they would. (BTW, the 2014 model has no difference on the cleats features, or structure besides just different color ways released I'm 100% sure about that.) these cleats are called the Alpha Menace Elite. I'm not sure if that was the same manager who said to an employee that they would honor me the price over the phone but I'm guessing it is not because she was very insensitive about the situation like she didn't care. I'm very disappointed in what happened,. Waste of time, gas and emotions that I went thru just for them to tell me they told me wrong information once I got there. Definitely a 0 Star experience if I could rate it that. I'm actually super pissed off but I'm not one of those people to cause a scene at a store over some cleats. I wish their employees knew basic things about price matching before making me drive that far through traffic and all. That operations manager did nothing to help me or the situation at all besides a "no can do." She didn't even seem to care about what I went thru. It's sad that Dick's is the only place to get some football cleats because Sport's Authority no longer exist and Big 5 just doesn't carry anything. Drove about 45 minutes to come to Dick's Sportings Goods to purchase a fish finder that they had listed on their website. Got there to discover that the fish finder was on display in their fishing case, and pushed their button for service, as the sign requested. Waited about 3-5 minutes to have a young male employee come over and abruptly ask if we were the ones who needed help, when we were the only people back there. My husband then asked if they had the fish finder. The employee then told him if it wasn't out on the floor on an end cap then they don't have it. My husband then said we never saw an end cap but that it was on display and pointed to it in the display case. The employee then told him that the end cap is gone and that the fish finder on display had been there "longer than he had been employees there" and that his managers probably lost the paperwork for it long ago. The interaction with this employee seemed as though we were an inconvenience to him for even pushing the button, let alone inquiring about the fish finder that was on display that we had come in to purchase. He was very rude and unprofessional, clearly not in the business to make a sale. Didn't offer to help order it or anything, he left it at that and rushed off to help another lady in the next isle over. Overall, we were not impressed with the lack of customer service provided to us today, will be looking elsewhere in the future for our purchases. read more

Terrible customer service. No wonder the net it consuming brick and mortar stores. My wife and I attempted to buy one of their higher end treadmills. When we got it home, we opened the box to find the drive unit had detonated and leaked oil all over and soaked the interior cardboard. We packed it back up immediately and went back for an exchange, only to have them give us another unit that appeared to have been pushed down a flight of stairs. Back to the house, open the carton to find the unit damaged, AND it was leaking copious amounts of oil too. As they were out of these units now, we returned the last one to the store. Each time we went in, the cashier hassled us about "becoming members" and even to donate to "donate to the local schools, because of the kids", even on the third time we had been there that day, and were returning a second unit. Same cashier each time, even when exchanging a defective unit, we had to go through the dance of membership and donating. Not once was there an apology, or even a proposed solution... just shrugged shoulders regarding wasting a couple of hours back and forth for defective equipment, and ultimately, no treadmill. Yesterday we made the mistake of stopping by for some winter gear and this same cashier wouldn't process the sale without signing us up for their rewards program, and we walked out leaving a hundred bucks worth of merchandise on the counter. I said "no thank you" twice. Third time is a charm. We won't be back. read more

I have shopped here at least 5 times in the last 2 months and always leave with a purchase, but the customer service is terrible at this location, you have to circle the store to find an employee or go all the way to the cashiers to get help. About 2 weeks ago,I returned a few items and exchanged it for 1 item and was supposed to get a reimbursement on my debit card for the rest of my return, I still haven't received my funds back to my account, I tried calling the store but no one ever picks up, so I drove all the way from Everett to Marysville to get help with getting my money back, I actually got "helped" (I'm using this word lightly) by the employee who did my return (Taylor) I asked if he could look up my purchases and returns from my phone number as my receipt was in the old bag and he gave me a new bag with my new purchase/exchange and reminded him he was the one that did my exchange, he got really defensive and told me he couldn't help me and to call their corporate hotline, then dismissed me and called out to help the next person in line.. I will avoid this store from now on and take my business else where, I still haven't received my money from the return, I can never get through on the 800 number during my lunch break and by the time I get off work, the customer service hotline is closed..very disappointed in this company. read more

I go to this store all the time & have been ever since it 1st opened. I have never written a review before but after being shocked by all of the bad reviews I really felt the need to write my 1st review. The employees at your Marysville location have ALWAYS been excellent. This is something you don't find often anymore & especially in a retail chain. The only thing I could say negatively at all is that the prices are a bit high. But you get what you pay for & I normally buy name brand, Nike, Northface etc. so those items are barely ever on sale at any store! Keep up the great work!! read more

Just stopped by to look for a gift for my wife. I wasnt expecting any service from my visits to other locations before, so I wasnt suprised when nobody spoke to me the 30 minutes I was there. They had what I was looking for and I made my way to the cashier. He asked for my membership number and I told him I didnt have one. He asked if I wanted to sign up and I politely declined. He then pressed the issue by stating its only my phone number ans name. I again politely declined. He then said "What's the matter, dont like giving out your name?" At that point I said just forget it and walked out. Trust me, I get the push from management to get people enrolled in membership programs. I managed in retail for nearly 15 years. If one of my prior crew acted like this guy did on my watch, I would have fired him on the spot. read more

Went here to return an online order and get a different size. While walking up to the check out line the young man working (sterling) thought it would be a good idea to throw the white alarm things that they put on close into a bucket right where we were walking. They bounced off stuff and almost hit my friend and I. Thinking he was just young and made a not smart choice, I let it go and walked up to make the exchange with him. As he took the jacket he dragged it on the group causing the bottom sleeve to become covered in dust, dirt and hair. I asked if we could get a different one and he said this was the last medium they had and never even apologized for getting it all dirty and dragging it on the ground. He then proceeded to talk terribly about a customer who was on hold on they phone directly to us. Sterling needs to be taught customer service and manners. Went to Dicks a couple of weeks ago to look at some running shoes. Couldn't find anyone to help so I walked out. Went back today and found the same pair of running shoes I really liked. They were on the clearance rack but I was informed that they were "above" the clearance rack so not on sale. Then I found another pair on display clearly marked with a price but when I asked the salesperson for my size she said the price sticker was wrong. They were $30 more than the price sticker showed. Looked around and found several boxes labeled as " Women's" running shoes only to find out it was men's shoes in the box. Very disappointing. Totally disorganized. Won't go back. read more

I was in the store shopping with my fiancée and after we got our things and were walking around for a little bit after about 15 min some lady got on the intercom and said we need all security on the floor and all cameras open! We are hardworking people we work hard for our money and to be treated like that is ridiculous. My last stop hoping to find nike dri fit hat. Went to Nike apparel rack and can't find it. I ask the staff that work there he don't know and he ask his other friend. He's very helpful and he said they don't have it. They only they have under armor brand that what he said cause they out of Nike brand. I'm kinda disappointed. I keep looking and looking. A nice young man by the name Jason B greet me and ask if I need any help. I said yes but you guys don't have it. I explain to him what I'm looking for and he said for me to wait there and he be back. I said I just follow you. Yes he found what I'm looking for !. He went find all color for me. And I got all color that they have. Even 2 of the other employees can't help me they are very nice and helpful. Also this is like busy shopping time and they show happy face and willingness to help. For Jason B not he only help but he also show me the discount rack for bargain. At least at check out Kwik S very nice and friendly. Over all. This store have all you needed for sporting good. With knowledgeable employee and some that less knowledgeable will still put their heart to help you. We will be back read more
