Today, on this Monday, March 03, 2025, I stumbled upon a truly exceptional afternoon at this store in Oly that exceeded my expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed with genuine smiles and greetings. Every person we encountered seemed to spred a sense of joy and happiness. When we were searching for free weights, a helpful staff member guided us to the right section. Another young man proactively offered his assistance, going above and beyond to find the perfect weights and even a weight stand. This store's commitment to outstanding customer service and friendliness is truly inspiring. Kudos to the best customer service down to the cashier that rang us up! Tim Steacy took great care of all my needs. This is the first time I've gone there and found out they had exactly what I wanted but not my size. He came to me to unlock their fitting room. The one I came across was too big for me. I went back to him and did search to see if another location had it. He came across one and ordered it. I just got it as promised and I love it. Tim treated me with respect and courtesy. If you have any questions or issues go to him. He works right there at their golfing section. Believe me, you won't regret it. Love the store. Good selection. Some staffers are super helpful, BUT.... Their shoe department service is horrible. The kiosks don't work well. They are always understaffed. Today they had one person in back and all sorts of people waiting. I finally complained at the front counter and things moved but still too many people for one person. I tried a pair on I liked, but needed a different color which I could have ordered there and gotten them in no time. But the staffer was busy again. I dropped the pair I tried on for size, went home, and ordered it from REI. Not the first time this has happened. if Amazon teaches businesses anything, customer service counts. read more

I purchased a new driver and golf shoes at the Dick's Sporting Goods store in Olympia, WA on 5/28/25. I was impressed by the service of Evan Groat who operates the golf department. Never buy a product here if you aren't 10000% that you'll like it because apparently they can sell pre workout and protein powder but if you don't like it they WILL NOT exchange or refund ANYTHING. Just got done with the gym and had to go return a pair of shoes so I decided to do a little browsing. As I was browsing, a girl came up to me three times asking me if I was finding everything OK within 30 minutes I'm sorry just because I look a little rugged because I just got done with the gym. There's no need to approach me three times within the 30 minutes to make sure I was finding everything OK You really made me feel as if I was doing something wrong and that is not OK. And because of the situation, I will probably never go back into your store. read more

During Christmas I understand that the inventory isn't perfect. However; driving from Tacoma to Tukwila just to have my order cancelled 10 minutes after waiting in such line for my already purchased items did not help. Then I drove from Tukwila to Olympia to get the item again. Very inconvenient but I know they are trying their best to make sure everyone is satisfied. Just one of those things. It does not at all surprise me that this store has such an over all low rating. I have never been so disrespected in a store ever in my life. I was shopping and had picked out 3 things I wanted to try on in the fitting room. Not anything crazy (or so I thought). When I was waiting for a fitting room a sad excuse for an employee named Deon came over and said I needed to leave the store. I said excuse me? Why? He said that I had suspicious shopping habits. When asked to explain he said he didnt have to and that he can refuse service to whomever he so wishes. I told him I was highly offended and he laughed, LAUGHED IN MY FACE! at this point I was irate at the way I was being treated. This is NOT OKAY!! You can not just treat people this way. Never will I ever give this company another dollar. I will also be telling EVERYONE I know to not shop there either. read more

Great sports store. Found a great deal on boxing equipment on their website, got a new customer coupon and was able to pick up my order several hours later. The staff even offered to help me carry it to out to my car. The store itself was busy, but tidy and clean. I'll be back to shop here again. read more

Went in to look at some soccer cleats for our daughter. The sales associate Devin was amazing. He was incredible with my daughter and wife. Very knowledgeable and excited about the cleats. Wasn't planning to buy, but he was such a good person and helpful that we decided to purchase. read more

Just a nasty store. Took half an hour to get an employee to notice me, who was rude and just made stuff up so he could leave- very bad attitude! All the employees seem to be like here. There was garbage all over the floor and it was hard to find anything. There were only a few other customers in the store and they were grumbling too! read more

They have a lot of items and a lot of variety in the items but I am taking off one star because I was a little disappointed in the amount of hiking items they have. I mean this is the PacNorthwest so I expect it to be quite a large department especially since they have an REI at the end of the shopping center. It kind of reminds me of a Sports Authority but larger and much more well lit and organized. It is nice though that it is connected to the mall so you can go straight into the mall after shopping. They also do have a lot of shoes to choose from which is pretty awesome, but again there is a REI and a DSW Shoes and a Famous Footwear very close by. Like I said though they do have a lot of items in other departments.There's also a lot of selection within the golf department. I also like how many different types of kayaks that they had. I also am the type of shopper that likes to just browse and when I have a question I can find someone that I can ask a question to as opposed to someone following me around or hounding me to ask him a question or being overly helpful. I usually know what I'm looking for and if I can't find it I'll ask someone. There were maybe about 4 employees in the store so it was nice to be able to browse without being sweated. I like that you have the autonomy to walk around without feeling pressured into something that I may not be wanting to buy. I will say that the prices were a bit higher than I thought they'd be as well. $20 for some general hiking tube socks or $16 for some very thin snow mittens. Good quality, but just a little pricey. Again I just took off one star because I didn't find the hiking department to be as large and as thorough as I was looking for. Overall, a nice spacious brand new store. I admit I was hesistant about when they blocked off large portions of the mall parking lot to build this store and was skeptical as to why they would pick to make an addition into the mall as opposed to just taking an already built building like the old Sports Authority building or some other building. It's a nice additional to the mall though, and hopefully a competitor for REI. read more

I ordered a pair of shoes online. The wrong size was sent to me. I took the shoes in store but they didn't have the color I wanted (color I ordered). A staff named Patrick tried to help me by looking at other stores in state and online. For some reason the options to ship to me wasn't available and even though the shoes were showing as available, when he would add to cart, it'd say the shoes weren't available. It was a bit frustrating. Long story short, I still didn't get the shoes I originally ordered and wanted. The only reason why I gave 4 stars was because Patrick tried his hardest to accommodate me and offer something else. I ended up having to order another color scheme I didn't really want because the color I ordered online wasn't available anywhere. Patrick also have me a 10% discount for the trouble. Kudos to Patrick for his customer service in store. read more

I would give no stars if that were an option. I am Oregon Tax Exempt but was told the store could not honor it as they were a Washington Company. I was told to go to their web site and download a form which I could send in with my receipt for reimbursement. After not finding a link on their website I chatted with customer service and this is a quote from Dick's customer service: "...we only deal with tax exemptions in store." Somebody at Dick's is not telling the truth. This is my last purchase ever at Dick's. If you are tax exempt beware if shopping at this store. read more

Customer service gone wrong: The kids bought me a new fishing pole and reel for Fathers Day. First they spooled the line on the reel backwards and I was unable to use it on our father/son fishing trip on Fathers Day. So I went in a week later right when they opened up at 9:00am and the guy at the counter told me he couldn't help me for 30-45 minutes because he wasn't done with his "morning duties". That's what we get for trying to buy fishing gear at a sporting goods store. read more

Not much concern when a very expensive Sole elliptical machine was defective on delivery. Dick's Sporting Goods refused to simply exchange the machine and instead forced me to go through tech support hell. FOUR MONTHS later, I still don't have a working elliptical, and Dick's still doesn't care. Also, the elliptical section at the store is a mess, with machines poorly assembled and/or not plugged in. Loose parts had fallen to the floor. When I asked for one machine to be plugged in, an associate told me I could only try it for a minute because it had a short in it! The area was in the same state during several visits. Maybe this should have been a warning sign. Attempting to get this situation resolved has been an absolute nightmare and I would advise anyone to stay FAR away from Dick's Sporting Goods. They do not stand behind what they sell and they do not care about their customers. There are plenty of alternatives in the area. There is NO reason to give them your business. Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. It is well deserved. UPDATE: Complaints filed with Better Business Bureau and the Washington State Attorney General. Dick's has yet to respond. UPDATE 7/14: Still no response from Dick's. The tech support they promised would arrive weeks ago has not been heard from. UPDATE 8/7: I have received word from both the Better Business Bureau and the Washington State Attorney General. Dick's Sporting Goods refused to respond to their inquiries. I made yet another visit to their store and spoke with a manager, who acted like he was being greatly inconvenienced by doing his job. He then shook my hand and promised that he would call that evening with a solution. He confirmed that they still had the model in stock and that one "had my name on it." I believed they were going to finally exchange the machine as they should have done months ago. Of course, there was no call and I still have a broken elliptical machine. read more

Horrible and rude customer service. Me and my friend where searching for a person on the floor for 10 minutes. We pushed the help button and stood there for 5 minutes then once we finally got help the girl said "were you the girls pushing the buttons?" And I said yes and she said "omg we were like what the heck... I knew it was you guys...." I'm pissed I told her we just need a dressing room. She was talking in a rude tone. No military discount at this store, trying to buy swimming suit, lack of sizes, don't come here, wasting your time and money

I went to the Capital Mall store to purchase a pair of men's sneakers this afternoon. I had never set foot in that store in my life. I was treated like a criminal, as if they suspected I would try and steal something. After choosing the sneakers I wanted to purchase, the store clerk who was assisting me, a young Asian man, told me that since the sneakers were over $100, he would have to accompany me to the check out area. It was "store policy" he said. Since I wanted to continue shopping, he took the sneakers to the check out area himself and told me I could retrieve them when I was finished shopping. Not finding anything else that I wanted, I went to the check out area, where the young man behind the counter, who had a very light brown complexion, opened the box of sneakers and examined them, looking into each sneaker as if he expected to find something hidden in either sneaker. I didn't see the other customers who were in line in front of me being subjected to this treatment. The customers in front of me were Caucasian, two females and one male. I am African American. I find it hard to believe that your customer service protocol is to treat your customers as if you expect them to steal from you. So I can only conclude that I was racially profiled by your staff at that location. I have a 6 figure income, a master's degree and I own my own home, yet I was treated by your staff like a suspect who "fit the description". I won't set foot in that store again and I urge every African American who shops at that location to boycott them. read more

Extremely unprofessional staff. Heard an employee yell at another halfway across the store, "Nah, dude you're just standing there. You find out what they want!" An employee standing by the yelling person laughs....Seeing people act that way makes me uncomfortable. read more

I really wish I had one positive thing to say about this store but I do not. My family and I were in the store, in multiple departments. Not one time did ANY associate approach to see if we needed assistance. When it was finally time to check out, we waited over 10 minutes in line, there was only one person in front of us. Their store smells very good as you walk in, but I was standing in line for a solid 45 minutes waiting for help. We've asked several times to unlock the stuff we are lookin for but yet no luck. And the smell doesn't smell so good after waiting for so long. read more
