They have a lot of items and a lot of variety in the items but I am taking off one star because I was a little disappointed in the amount of hiking items they have. I mean this is the PacNorthwest so I expect it to be quite a large department especially since they have an REI at the end of the shopping center. It kind of reminds me of a Sports Authority but larger and much more well lit and organized. It is nice though that it is connected to the mall so you can go straight into the mall after shopping. They also do have a lot of shoes to choose from which is pretty awesome, but again there is a REI and a DSW Shoes and a Famous Footwear very close by. Like I said though they do have a lot of items in other departments. There's also a lot of selection within the golf department. I also like how many different types of kayaks that they had. I also am the type of shopper that likes to just browse and when I have a question I can find someone that I can ask a question to as opposed to someone following me around or hounding me to ask him a question or being overly helpful. I usually know what I'm looking for and if I can't find it I'll ask someone. There were maybe about 4 employees in the store so it was nice to be able to browse without being sweated. I like that you have the autonomy to walk around without feeling pressured into something that I may not be wanting to buy. I will say that the prices were a bit higher than I thought they'd be as well. $20 for some general hiking tube socks or $16 for some very thin snow mittens. Good quality, but just a little pricey. Again I just took off one star because I didn't find the hiking department to be as large and as thorough as I was looking for. Overall, a nice spacious brand new store. I admit I was hesistant about when they blocked off large portions of the mall parking lot to build this store and was skeptical as to why they would pick to make an addition into the mall as opposed to just taking an already built building like the old Sports Authority building or some other building. It's a nice additional to the mall though, and hopefully a competitor for REI.

My first experience with Tom's was at least 8 years ago when we bought a brand new Honda 20hp for…read moreour small boat. Worked great, and I would take it back to them for my annual servicing. I didn't have any issues until we upgraded to a new bigger boat and took it in for servicing. This is where we started having issues with the servicing and lack of customer service. I understand that have limited space and can only take in a certain number of boats, which is why they have a waiting list. The problem is have is that they don't call you when there is an opening, you have to constantly call them. They also take in commercial boats over people that are waiting to take in their boats as well as putting your boat on hold if it is in the shop already. I guess regular recreational fishermens money is not as good as the commercial fishermen. This has happened on several occasions. More recent example i took my boat in for servicing and winterizing a month ago. I didn't get any call informing me of the status. This is for an entire month. So I called them on Monday and I'm told that they haven't even gotten to it yet because they were short handed, people were out either on vacation or sick, but they were able to work on the commercial boats. Wtf!? So now that my batteries are probably drained completely because it hasn't been on the trickle charger i might have to get new batteries again. Thanks Tom's. Now to talk about my servicing nightmare. A couple of seasons ago I took in my new boat to get serviced. Apparently I found out that they didn't tighten or put on the oil cap on my main motor. Last season when I went shrimping my friend asked me if that oil slick on the water was normal for my boat. I was like, umm no, but I had just gotten my boat serviced and this is the first time out since then. So, it is definitely not a normal thing on a new Honda 150 4 stroke outboard. We opened the cowling on the water because that oil slick was pretty bad. Oil was everywhere in the cowling all over the motor. Just a mess. Luckily we made it back to the launch with no major issues at that time. I called Tom's as soon as we got the boat out of the water. They asked if I could bring it in and they would decrease and clean it up. I thought after they cleaned it, all my problems would be over. We'll, the problems were just starting. It's now another season had just started. I paid good money for them to fix whatever issue they might have caused. I took the boat out again the start of Kind Salmon season. It seemed like everything was working OK. We only ran the main motor a short distance and ran the kicker motor the for the next several hours. However when I ran the main motor to shoot it across from Owen's beach to Dalco it started with the alarm beeping and the voltage spiking again as we just made it across. Very disappointed. I called them up the next day to see when I could bring it in. The guy said he would call me back later in the day. No call. So several hours later I decide to call before they close. No answer, so I left a message. No call back again today. I call again. Left another message. I believe at this point they should just replace my whole main motor. I'm going to write to the better business bureau and also talk to an attorney. This is ridiculous. They should be trying to get my boat in ASAP due to what I believe they caused all these on going issues.

It's unfortunate that mall stores often get such a bad rep. Maybe it's because I've worked in retail/mall locations and understand the immense amount of work it takes to keep a store like that together, but at the same token, it doesn't take much more as a decent human being to understand these employees have a lot on their plate. The Aerie individual that assisted me with my bra search was super friendly and acted as if we'd been friends forever. Which honestly, makes that (possibly) awkward experience much easier. She was super helpful and made me feel at ease. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of body positivity that this store oozes. It's seriously just phenomenal. On the American Eagle side, our checkout experience was flawless. We had an online exchange to process, and the sales associate was so friendly and personable. He admitted he was newer to the AE fold and apologized for it not being as streamlined as he hoped. Honestly, it didn't really take any longer than I'd expect a normal transaction. It's honestly just going that extra mile to make the connection with a customer that makes it for me. His fellow associate/manager(?) assisted him with the transaction and everything continued to flow smoothly. Oh yeah, and did I mention the quality and current sales? I feel like every time I shop here the quality in products just soars. It's become my only stop for bras, undergarments, jeans, and sweaters. Go visit this crew!!!
