I went in to go find some jeans that I needed and the minute I walked in Alicia greeted me right away asked me what I was looking for. Is there anything I needed? She was right on top of everything and that is the only American eagle that I've ever been to in the last five years that has ever greeted me. It's right away help me with everything I needed. This store doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves! As a whole, I have yet to visit and AE/Aerie store with poor customer service or rotten employees. It's unfortunate that mall stores often get such a bad rep. Maybe it's because I've worked in retail/mall locations and understand the immense amount of work it takes to keep a store like that together, but at the same token, it doesn't take much more as a decent human being to understand these employees have a lot on their plate. The Aerie individual that assisted me with my bra search was super friendly and acted as if we'd been friends forever. Which honestly, makes that (possibly) awkward experience much easier. She was super helpful and made me feel at ease. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of body positivity that this store oozes. It's seriously just phenomenal. On the American Eagle side, our checkout experience was flawless. We had an online exchange to process, and the sales associate was so friendly and personable. He admitted he was newer to the AE fold and apologized for it not being as streamlined as he hoped. Honestly, it didn't really take any longer than I'd expect a normal transaction. It's honestly just going that extra mile to make the connection with a customer that makes it for me. His fellow associate/manager(?) assisted him with the transaction and everything continued to flow smoothly. Oh yeah, and did I mention the quality and current sales? Stopped in on a whim for a couple items for my daughter. Kristen (I hope I got that right) was absolutely amazing. Not only was she pleasant, but knowledgeable about what they carried in store and found the perfect piece to complete my daughter's look. Given the state of things with COVID and trying to get back to normal, it was refreshing to encounter such a sweet person that seems to genuinely enjoy their job. The service provided by Danielle in Olympia, Wa was excellent! She went above and beyond. I felt like I had a personal shopper for my child. She asked my child the type of clothes that they liked and she went around the store asking my child if they liked this or that and had their arms full of clothes to try in less than 5 minutes. She then proceeded to check in on my child and bring additional offerings for them to try. the best customer service I have ever experienced! read more

Stephanie, the manager.. was super rude, and talked down to her employees right in front of me. Plus, I was hassled about my return when I know AE's policies. Point being...dont expect great customer service here. I'd make the drive to Tacoma or Puyallup instead. Save yourself the argument w/ the manager. read more

A great place since it has cloths for our teenage Grandkids. They were helpful and offered suggestions so we can't complain. The store is set up nice and has a decent selection of items plus they had nice sales going on - full price would have been too high for what we go. We had also shopped in the Seattle location and found both of them to be a great place to go. read more

The manager is not Veteran friendly. My husband and I went into American Eagle, we have NEVER had a problem with American Eagle NOT honoring a Military discount for my husband even though he is a Veteran. She said she would not accept his Veteran ID that he had to be active duty. NEVER will I EVER shop at American Eagle again! read more

I came here specifically for underwear & bras, hoping to find something better then Victoria secret. I am a 37 year old woman. I don't go here for clothes, because they are younger fashions. I just wanted good fitting underwear. Everything went pretty well... until the next day. I went to go put my brand new bra on, and found the plastic tag was still attached. I was so irritated. I had to drive all the way back to the mall (when I had other plans), get the tag removed. The girl there was nice enough about it. I was actually grateful I went back to look at other underwear and bras. I found some things to try on, and went to find someone to "let me in" the dressing room. The room consist of rooms with curtains, there's no doors or locks. I went to get a sales person and they were all in deep conversations with each other, no one was paying attention to me, and I didn't have a lot of time, thinking it was no big deal I went to the empty, open dressing room and started trying on different bras. I noticed after some time the store fell quiet and there was a knock on the dressing room wood panel next to the curtain. In a state of undress I said "someone's in here"- and a male voice spoke back to me and asked "Did someone let you into the room"? And I said "No..." so he proceeded to what I can only say was border line harass me through the curtains. He then asked my name and how many pieces of clothing I had, he was interrogating me. I was so embarrassed and upset by the time I got out , although I was planing to continue looking for bras, I did not. I was completely flustered. It made me feel very uncomfortable to have this make employee interrogating me as if I was a thief or criminal while I was half undressed, behind a curtain, I couldn't believe it. I came out and the employees that were there previously were all gone. I then said I wanted to make an exchange and couldn't find my receipt. After going back and forth I found the receipt and then I told the guy off. I told him it wasn't ok for a guy to come back there and question me while I was in the dressing room! In such a authoritarian manner too. It was creepy. I did the exchange and walked out the store almost in tears. American Eagle needs to get their act together. Train your employees to be there for the customer. Train them to check on the dressing rooms between shifts. My suggestion is to have someone by the door of the dressing room or gave someone that is looking to help customers instead of ignoring them. Given the panties and bras campaign they have, I found it totally inappropriate for a male to be working in the Arie underwear and bra section. Not a safe space for women. Will my go back to that store again. *** talked to manager Sarah. She was very kind, apology seemed fake. I gave her suggestions and tried to be nice. She claimed the employee that did this was one of their best employees. Wow, I cannot imagine what their bad employees are like. She hardly apologized even though I had her admit they don't usually have males go back to the bras and undies section of the store. I suggested she'd hire a male and female employee at all times. She admitted 95 percent of customers are female yet only two males were working that particular shift*** will not get changed in that dressing room again/ too bad :/ read more

I used to bring my younger sister here pretty regularly. I had a baby last year and everything is so close together that I can't even fit an umbrella stroller through most the spaces. It makes us have to choose somewhere else to shop. I know the store is geared towards young kids, but it's likely a mom or dad paying for their clothes. read more

I got treated like I stole my shirt when I had to take it back to get the security tag taken off. Very humiliating situation when the associate refuses to help until she looks up the receipt in front of a large crowd of people and treats you like a criminal and doesn't offer an apology when it's all said and done. read more

So if any of you ladies have tried Aerie's underwear you know the different styles fit differently. A medium in one style fits as a small in the next. I noticed they had a new style and asked the manager for jean size comparison. The manager had no idea, in fact he seemed pretty clueless about any of the women's clothing. If you're a manager you're supposed to know the product; that's Sales101. Anyways, he steered me toward a female associate for her advice. She told me to get a small. I bought the 7 for $27.50 deal... Lo and behold the small was too small. So I came back to the store to exchange or return my underwear. They didn't have my size in the colors I wanted so I opted to just return everything. I asked them about the pair I tried on and they said it was just my loss. I understand they can't resale the item (obviously) but I specifically asked both a manager AND an associate to avoid this!! Now I wasted my money on a pair of underwear I can't even wear. I would understand it if I hadn't asked for help in choosing the right size but I'm irritated - what are they there for?? I like Aerie but won't be back to this location. They suck. read more

The quality of the clothes at AE have always been satisfactory. I've continued to go to AE because their pants fit really well. During Christmas, my mom bought me a pair of pants that didn't look good (high waters) and when I went to take them back the store was closed for remodel. Yesterday, I returned to the store to exchange or refund the pants. I had not washed or fuggin worn the pants. I tried them one ONCE and folded them up neatly. They were in my car for a little while after discovering that I couldn't return them previously. But, they were not damaged in any way and it is a brand new car. The employee (Sam) looked at my pants and said "yeah, I'm not going to return these because they have OBVIOUSLY been washed" and I preceded to tell her that I didn't wash the damn pants. There wasn't even lint in the pockets. She sniffed them, which was embarrassing and insulting, and basically called me a liar and told me to try selling them online. The pants still smelled like the dye, even. I've seen Sam do this to friends of mine who have tried to return brand new, not worn or washed clothing. Will return with card and my mom. read more
