This was my go to place for fishing tackle and kayak stuff. However, this dicks has not restocked or something. They have half of the stuff they had when they first opened. But drastically reduced to stuff people don't buy. They do have a great sales rep. Named Steve great guy and knowledgeable with pretty much everything outdoors. Three cheers for customer service and three cheers for Catie a manager who assisted me. I saw a $39.99 price on the shelf for some hiking shoes and selected them. At the register they rang up at $49.99 so I brought this up and actually walked up with Catie who was pleasant. Long story short is that she gave me the benefit of the doubt and took $10 off the purchase. That's just good customer service. I serve people all the time and my mantra is: 'The customer is NOT always right--but the customer is ALWAYS the customer.' When it's easy to accommodate them, you should and Catie did. This will cause me to come back and buy more sporting goods from this location simply because I was treated well. read more

A couple of days ago my mother and I went to Buy tennis shoes at Dick's. Algae and Mary Who work at the shoe department Were so amazing!! Their customer service was out of this world. On October 28th I ordered a pair of Curry 4 basketball shoes for my 13 year old son. They were in stock said to be delivered the following Wednesday. On Wednesday I received an Email saying that they were going to be delayed because they gave them to someone else. I waited two weeks then called them asking for an update. They were still out of the size 8 but assured me a 30 percent discount when they come in. 10 days goes by, I call again asking for an update they said we are still out of stock of size 8 and cancelled my order. I go online and see they have plenty of size 8 and add a pair to my bag and called Dicks to request for my 30 percent discount they promised. They gave it to me and shipped out my shoes. Two days later then send another pair to me and charge my checking account the full 143.00 for a second pair which I did not authorize. Now they tell me that I will have to wait 2 weeks after they receive them, to which they received them back on Nov 29, 2017I have the tracking info. Then the supervisor tells me it will be another month after that before I see the refund...How nice is that. After returning the items on Nov. 28 and patiently waiting for their response, I get no response. I had to call and after speaking with a rep. she said it will only be 1 or 2 more minutes for my refund that she saw the error and needed to transfer me to supervisor for the refund. I was on hold for 47 minutes more before the supervisor got on to tell me he did not see the error. I got the full run around by this character. What a waist of my time. I will never shop Dick's Sporting Goods in my lifetime. Furthermore I will tell everyone I know what has occurred. read more

Even in the aftermath of dicks liberal political standpoint. I guess my better judgement. I still went to dicks. They open at 9.. Then I should have the staff to help people. The restrooms were disgusting. They have been open for less than a year and the restrooms are already run down and dirty inside. I walked upstairs. I looked at the golf equipment. And they had two employees that were ready to help right away that was great. My main purpose was to purchase a gun safe. Unfortunately I cannot find anybody to help. I asked the golf department and they paid someone to no avail I waited for 15 minutes before I walked out. On my way out I was asked if I had received all the help and was satisfied I said no they didn't really seem to care why. read more

This place is terrible. EVERYtime I've been here they have a shortage of cashiers so it takes FORever to get out of this store. In addition it just doesn't seem like they have very good deals or good variety of product. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of generic merchandise, but nothing that I couldn't buy from the manufacturer direct. At Sports Chalet and Sports Authority, I could find a good variety of sports ten gear. This place is so big and corporate that it's almost as personable as buying from a discount outlet store. After waiting about 40 min on the side of the actual Dicks sporting goods store, I come to find out they are not doing curbside pick picks on the actual side of Dicks Sporting Goods. I call in a min after they close and their suppose manager is like no we can not make an exception for you. After I informed him I've been sitting and waiting for 40 min outside of Dicks Sporting goods. He's like oh sorry we make curb side pick is at Burlington. Like someone please tell me how someone who is waiting for a pickup at Dicks is going to know to go to Burlington. Very unhelpful and if you didn't get your product now you know why. You were at the wrong store, completely. Also they don't have signs directing anyone anywhere. read more

I have spent thousands of dollars in this store and last night I purchased $500 in softball gear for my daughter. She wanted a different ball glove than the one I bought her. She wanted a softball specific glove. So today I came back to exchange the glove for the one she wanted. I did not have my receipt due to my daughter lost it in the bag last night in the excitement of her new gear. But I had all the tags with dicks tags on the glove and when I came to the register they told me they wouldn't exchange it. The manager would not even come to discuss with me they only communicated over their head sets. That alone is not good business. Pretty sad that a company would lose thousands of dollars from a loyal customer over an exchange (not even a refund) just to exchange new for new. I know that I will never spend another dime in this franchise again. I'll buy online or any other sporting goods store before I ever contribute to this store again. read more

I took my new lacrosse head in to get it strung. The guy said it would be three days. No problem! Nearly a week later I called to make sure it was done before going to pick it up. It wasn't, and they told me that it would be ready by 5. No problem! Then when I get there the guy tells me that he forgot about it and I can come pick it up the next day. When I finally get the finished product, it was probably the worst string job I've ever seen. There's no pocket! How am I supposed to play with no pocket? Either this guy doesn't play lacrosse, or is incredibly lazy. It's amazing that I could get this kind of a result after giving them a WEEK to get it right. Moral of the story kids- never, ever, EVER go to Dicks to get your heads strung. It's a waste of time. You're better off finding an actual lacrosse shop with actual players who know what they're doing. read more

As a store manager how do you say you have certain polices that you follow which i understand and when i pull up the return policy on an item you tell me that that's not your policy and you don't have time to read it when i clearly put the information in front of you and it completely doesn't lineup with the policy you are talking about in theory! I asked to see the policy for that information and can't even pull the book out. But have the nerve to say that you don't have time to read a small sentence that was pulled in front of you! SMH i mean you're getting paid to do customer service , either it's being lazy and not dealing with it or you don't wanna do your job thanks Faby, flabby, fazy whatever your name is for the uneducated policy of your store that you managed, apparently it looked like i knew more about your own store than you.. guess dicks can't honor their own polices or guidelines at all! read more

What a disappointment they flooded our mailboxes with ads and coupons so I thought I would take advantage of those called ahead to make sure that they had a specific shirt that was advertised in their flyer snuck out of the house because this is a Father's Day gift drove over there not one person acknowledge that I was even breathing when I walked into the store I had to find a young girl in the team sports Area where she was folding clothes and ask her for help! She seemed to be put out that I interrupted her shirt folding process to ask where this shirt was because I called ahead and who ever answers the phone says you have it. Her reply .... " we only carry LA teams UCLA & USC we are in new store so we don't have everything!" I asked if she could order the shirt for me online from in the store she told me no only to find out today when I called Dick's they said that wasn't true and it sounded like they needed to have some more training in that store! Calling DICKS directly was amazing young girl even honored my coupon and waved my shipping cost so that we would have it here in time for Father's Day now that's customer service read more

Big store that seems to have lots of variety. I was looking for a day pack and hiking boots. There were only 3 options for women's hiking boots and I could only find 1 day pack on the floor under the backpacks. I tried to go purchase the daypack, the first line I tried there was a woman trying to buy a bag with no tag and the staff member was not having any luck figuring out how much to charge, the second open line I went to in a different part of the store did not have anyone working and then I tried a 3rd line in a different section of the store. That staff member was having a disagreement with a customer and going back and forth on his radio with a supervisor. I didn't end up buying the daypack from Dicks, I came home and bought it on Amazon. It will be here by 8pm tomorrow. read more

I was greeted as I walked in, not a fan of greeters but ok. Came to get a few baseball items, they had a lot of variety. The staff was helpful in guiding me where to go. The only complain is that as walked through the store I saw at least half a dozen employees and store not relatively busy, as went to pay for my items a small line of six or seven ppl built up and they only had one register open. Why? A better sense of urgency is needed from employees. Look up, acknowledge customers, and page for assistance. read more

I went to Dick's Sporting Goods to purchase some soccer cleats for my son. We spent about 40mins trying on different shoes. The salesperson showed us all of the ones he had to choose from, but when we got to the checkout they told me they hadn't been released yet, and i couldn't purchase them. They also couldn't provide me with a release date. I asked to talk to a manager, we waited to speak to him/her. They didn't come down to speak to me. They just said they couldn't help me via the checkout lady. Terrible customer service from a manager! I won't be back. Might be a good idea to not release shoes onto the floor until the correct date. read more

So I went back to Dicks this weekend to get some stuff for my son's football season. Started to buy some stuff, new chin strap, mouth gaurds, etc... and then looked at the prices and almost fainted. Some of the stuff here is way over priced. Had a hat and 2 t-shirts as well but then realized the hat was $27.99 and the shirts were both over $25.00 (and they were t-shirts). Weird how they have low price guarantee signs all over the place but the prices are so high. So we went to Big 5, got my son's gear for a fraction of the cost. I'll hit up Ross or Marshalls next week for a new hat and some t-shirts. At this point, Dicks is just way too HIGH price wise. Good luck with that. read more

With a store this big and with this much equipment, you would expect the customer service here to be alot more helpful than they are. The few times that Ive visited, Ive gotten 0 help from anyone and have even been discouraged to even try out any of the gear. Went in yesterday to return an item, had the original receipt. The cashier scanned the receipt and said that I couldn't return it because their system showed it had already been returned. I explained that I had not returned it (obviously because I still had it) and that the computer system is wrong. She suggested that maybe I had another receipt for it, showing the purchase. I went home to check, but the original receipt was all I had, and I felt that it was really all I needed. I returned to the store, got the same explanation again, so I asked to speak with a manager. The manager repeated the same reason, that they are unable to return it because the system won't accept it. I asked him if he could override it and at least issue me a store credit rather than crediting my account. He said no, there's nothing more he can do, and wrote down a 1-800 number to call and explained that their system on that side could look into it further, and also possibly issue a store credit to me. I called the number and was informed that they only handle online purchase issues and that in-store purchases would have to be handled in the store. However, he was able to look up my purchase and said that his system did not show a return of that item and he had no way of seeing the individual stores computer system. So I returned to the store a third time. The manager I spoke with before was on a break so I spoke with another manager. I explained the situation to her and she said sure, she can simply override the system to make the return and issue store credit to me. It should have been that easy from the very beginning! The employees and other managers need to be better trained and more knowledgeable of the 1-800 number they try to shove off on customers. They should also be more customer service-oriented and think logically about inconsistencies...like why would I still have an item that they so vehemently insisted was returned? Their explanations even went so far as to claim that to return this item again would be like paying me twice, since I had already gotten credit when it was returned the first time (?!). They treated me like I was doing something wrong and trying to scam them, when all I wanted to do was make a simple return. UNBELIEVABLE AND TRULY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE QUALITY! read more
