    Gelato large size

The subs were really good and the sandwiches and the gelato and the latte freeze, which is two shots of espresso, made with ice cream, whipped cream, and you can choose lots of different flavors. you are able to sit down there are a few tables you can people watch because you can see out the windows.

Great food, great coffee, great gelato, great service! If you're at OOB and you don't want the deep fried foods that are everywhere else here, this is your spot! I've ate here 3 times the past 3 days, i love it!

Nice panini. Good variety of offerings with reasonable prices. I would ask the owner to update hours on Yelp.

When I got in, I saw the flavors listed on the board and tried a few samples served on a metal spoon. Since I was in Maine, I had to try the two blueberry flavors. I immediately fell in love with the Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp Gelato and asked for a small cup with that flavor. The Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp Gelato is comprised of wild blueberries intersected with a sweet and crunchy oat streusel covering and kissed by a scoop of vanilla. It was so yummy! My husband had the Netflix & Chill Gelato which is caramel gelato with brownie bits, peanut butter cups, and kisses. The small dish was $6.35 each and it includes a Maine restaurant tax. The next day, during the Portland: Old Port Culinary Walking Tour on Sunday, June 14, 2026, our last stop was The Gelato Fiasco. Funny enough, I was just here the night before. At The Gelato Fiasco, our group of 13 were able to each choose two flavors. Since I already had the Maine Wild Blueberry Crisp Gelato last night, I wanted to try some other flavors. This time I got the Ripe Mango and Thai Iced Tea. WOW! The Ripe Mango and Thai Iced Tea really tasted like how you would expect it to taste, all the flavors were there, but imagine it in a denser, silkier texture and a more intense flavor. I highly recommend checking out The Gelato Fiasco, you will not regret the smooth and creamy texture of the gelato. There are plenty of seating inside and outside.

Ambiance rate 5/10. The staff is nice, and the service is quick. Service/staff rate: 6.5/10. This place offers a wide variety of gelato flavors! I ordered a small dish consisting of a scoop of "Big Ole Peanut Butter" and a scoop of "Cookie Therapy." Both flavors were very bold which I enjoyed because I was able to really taste it. In addition, the cup size is a generous portion. Food rate: 8/10 Overall, this gelato place is a nice place to stop by for a quick dessert!

You scream. I…read morescream. We all scream... for site made ice cream on a working Maine dairy farm ! This is a special place... a farm on a hill with their own farm shop featuring glass-bottled milk, sandwiches, and most importantly... Ice Cream ! Starting mid-April or so, they open up "The Barnyard" which is a nice little petting zoo for the kids... and occasionally a "Goat Yoga" spot for adults... which is just so uniquely crazy it almost makes me wish I did yoga. Not into yoga...? I get you. Lucky for us, they also have a hardware store / lumber yard, so you could feasibly come for Mocha Chip and stay for the 4x4 milled posts, and that's not an experience you'll soon get at a national big-box lumber store. Or a Baskin Robbins, for that matter. This place is an experience. The farm is gorgeous, the staff are friendly, the animals are fun, the lumber yard is definitely there, and the product... well that's where it's at... it's excellent. There are a few working dairy farms like this one dotted around the state, and I encourage you to check out each and every one. Smiling Hill Farm is that extra special sort of place, where it's only a few miles drive outside of Portland, but it feels worlds away and it's so, so worth the effort to get to. They also have ready-to-go quarts in the freezer, their various dairy offerings, and rotating, seasonal farm shop fare. Support your local farmers! Also... I've found the local barn cats to be super friendly and just a treat to hang with. YMMV

We were craving ice cream, and Zephyr popped up on Yelp. As soon as I saw their shaved ice and ice cream creations, I was intrigued. Every ice cream combination sounded tempting, but I finally settled on the chocolate pretzel and the orange creamsicle. Both were outstanding, and it's easy to see why they've been voted one of Portland's best. The staff were thoughtful and attentive, and the owner was especially welcoming. He told us he was a former bartender, which makes sense--every syrup is made in-house, as is the ice cream. That extra care and craftsmanship really shine through in every bite.

One is flavor that shines through the cold and creamy dessert. Second is how sweet it is. Not too much so to where that's all that comes through. The last being, creamy consistency. So all in all, it's fairly simple. With this being said. Fielder's choice has been #1 for me, followed by Dairy corner in the # 2 slot. The only reason why, is that in my opinion, it's a bid too sweet for me. Otherwise it's pretty damn good over all. Today I happened to be driving by The Maine Scoop and decided to give it a shot. It's always nice to ad options when you are out and about. My wife went to the window to order for us. I wanted a coffee Oreo milkshake. She was going for the vanilla custard soft serve. A single cones worth. As soon as I had my treat in my hands. I gave a big long pull on the fat straw sticking out of the top. The first thing I noticed was a watery slurry followed by chunks of soggy Oreo. Then an extremely overpowering sickening sweet gush that took over all my senses that made my eyes snap shut in horror. My brain whirled in a panic trying to understand what just invaded my mouth. My God! I thought I was experiencing some sort of sugar coma onset. I quickly placed the cup in my holder and sat there bewildered for a few minutes. Until the wife looked at me asking, are you OK? I didn't want to sway her opinion so I just smiled and handed her the cup of disaster and said, give this a try. She enthusiastically took the cup and managed to get about a half of swig before she choked and shoved the cup away from her. Holding it at arms length she proclaimed, what in the world did they make you! We laughed for a moment until I realized I just paid $9 for this sugar slurry mess. I asked the wife to try her cone, I wanted or should say hoped that somehow my shake was some sort of mistake. It wasn't, sad to say. Her ice cream was also extremely sweet, but manageable. So, be warned, if you are anywhere near a possible diabetic. Avoid this place like a modern plague.
